Zoey always kept her bedroom very dark. It wasn't that she avoided the light like her girlfriend, but the shadows always helped her focus. There was something about a quiet dark room that made it easier to turn her attention inwards, shutting out the distractions of the world. Tucking her chair into her workstation, she surveyed the area she had to work with. The room wasn't very large, but it was certainly big enough for her to move freely. Pulling her warm, fluffy dressing gown tighter, she got to work.
While she had found her bath with Lillian most pleasurable, her real work began as night fell. Retrieving a roll of burlap cloth from her wardrobe, she unfurled it and inspected it for damage. The pattern woven on the front was thankfully intact. Zoey took good care of the small square, but the magic circle sewn onto it was very delicate. One frayed thread or loose line, and she'd have to draw the symbol by hand. It was far easier to keep a premade one safe.
Laying the emblem down on a plastic slab, she started gathering the rest of the materials for her ritual. Pinches from her assorted pots of dried herbs were scattered precisely over the circle, flower petals were freshly picked and placed in their exact spots, a trio of pomegranate seeds were set equidistant on the edge of the ring. All the while Zoey muttered chants and prayers, infusing her wishes into the objects. The summoning spell was actually fairly simple, anyone could do it if they knew how, but the most important part was belief. If she doubted or second guessed, even for a single moment, then it wouldn't work. Only by having unshakable faith could Zoey's magic work.
With the altar almost complete, she retrieved the last pieces. Six candles were set around the room, forming a protective ring. She stopped as she picked up the seventh, the one she needed at the centre of it all. Her stumpy little white candles were fine and all, but she had something much better. She breathed in the lavender scent as she opened the box from Lillian. The girl may've claimed it was just a thank you gift, but Zoey could see through her lies. Literally. The wooden chest pulsed with a warm energy. It was like each single candle was wrapping her in a loving embrace. The goth may have acted like she didn't care, but the emotional imprints she left were some of the most intense Zoey had ever felt. Behind the harsh wall she put up to keep people from getting close, Lillian was an endless well of love and affection. It was something Zoey understood all too well. Her own stoic nature made it hard to express herself to others, but with Lillian she felt they had a mutual, secret understanding.
With her ritual ready, the only thing Zoey had to do was begin. Sliding the offering into place, she threw her head back and raised her arms.
"Oh great mother goddess, your humble disciple calls to you. Please, grant me the privilege of your divine presence."
Shedding her fuzzy covering, Zoey knelt, bare as the day she was born. A ripple of magic flowed along her forehead, turning the dark red pigtails back to their usual neon blue. She focused all the energy she could muster on the centre of the circle, ignoring the candlelight slowly changing from a flickering orange to a deep, violent pink.
"Allow your servant to bask in your glory! To bear witness to your endless compassionate power!"
The telltale haze forming above the candles signalled her success. Leaning over in a grovelling bow, Zoey bared her back to the shape taking form, knowing how honoured she was to play host to a genuine divine being. From the heat haze, wispy smoke began to outline a woman, tall and unbelievably well endowed. A cool breeze with no discernible source made Zoey's skin turn to goosebumps. From her crouched pose, Zoey could only see the tips of some well pedicured toes, poking out underneath a set of long, white robes. The shear power radiating from the figure was suffocating.
"Congratulations Mortal! You have performed the ritual of the great goddess to a satisfactory level. Tell me why you have summoned the…"
The booming, haughty voice trailed off as the goddess recognised the familiar room.
"Oh, it's you again Denise. I've told you before that you don't need to use the ritual. You still have your Huniebee, I trust?"
If it were anyone else Zoey would've hated hearing her real name, but from the lips of Venus, it felt special. Denise Greene, apostle of Venus. The green haired beauty took a seat on the edge of Zoey's bed, allowing her disciple to speak.
"M-My goddess. I apologise for calling you away from your most gracious work. Please forgive my selfish actions!"
A disinterested hand waved her on.
"What do you want Denise? And stop grovelling! You're my apostle, act as fitting for your position."
Zoey hopped to her feet, standing at attention as Venus' eyes skimmed over her slight body. To be admired by such a glorious woman was a pleasure in it's own.
"Of course, my goddess. My apologies."
"Venus"
"I beg your pardon, my goddess?"
With a sigh, the holy being lent back on the mattress, propping herself up with her hands and kicking her leg casually.
"Venus, Denise. After everything you've done for me, the least I could do is grant you use of my name."
Zoey's mouth flapped open. To use such casual speech with the goddess herself would be most disrespectful, but Venus herself had ordered it?
"Y-Yes, my godde…..V-V-V…..Lady Venus."
The words felt strange in Zoey's mouth. A wicked taboo she was breaking in secret.
"Spit it out Denise! What do you want? Advice? Romantic assistance? Or perhaps…." Her gaze travelled down, making Zoey squirm as her jade eyes fell between her legs. "...You were hoping for another demonstration of my…..talents?"
The memory of those skilled fingers and wicked tongue made Zoey shudder, but a sinful tryst with Lady Venus wasn't on the menu for the evening. She had plans with Lillian to continue the fun they'd shared in the bathroom.
"No, Lady Venus, I simply wished to present you with an offering."
That piqued the goddess's interest. Gifts were always appreciated.
"An offering? Well, far be it for me to stop you. Why today though?"
There was no question that Venus found Christmas unpleasant. She'd ranted to Zoey before about how mortals should stop glorifying such petty minor gods and focus on the major seven again. Venus vented to Zoey a lot actually.
"Well, my Lady, today was traditionally a day of reverence of the old gods, long before christianity got involved. So I thought it appropriate to celebrate your divine existence today with my partner. Please accept our humble gift on our first annual Venus Appreciation Day."
Nervous hands presented the tray to Venus.
"It's a….."
"A cake, Lady Venus. I understand that it's far from your usual standards of cuisine, but it's our hope that it shows our devotion to you."
Venus took the tupperware container, holding it up for inspection. If Zoey'd had the gaul to assume the emotions of a goddess, she would've said Venus actually looked touched.
"This is very…..Ahem! Most acceptable Denise. I will take your offering with pleasure…"
To have her gift accepted by the goddess herself! Zoey's heart swelled with pride. Neither her nor Lillian were particularly experienced in the kitchen, but they were both pleased with their creation. Setting the dish down, Venus turned her attention back to Zoey.
"That reminds me, I have yet to reward you for your actions on the island, don't I?"
"That-that isn't necessary, Lady Venus! You've already given me so much!"
The larger woman was in front of her with inhuman speed. She took Zoey's chin in her hand and forced her to meet those hypnotic green eyes.
"What I offer now will mark you as my apostle for all of Sky Garden to see. It will hurt for a moment, I will not lie, but It will guarantee you a place at my side in the afterlife. The choice is yours, Denise. The offer extends to that Lillian girl as well, of course."
Such beauty. Such power! There were no doubts in Zoey's mind.
"Yes, Lady Venus. Anything to be closer to you ..."
With a smirk, the woman brought her lips to Zoey's, forcing her mighty love onto the girl. A cheeky hand gave her bare bottom a pinch as they made out. Zoey could feel her mind going blank, falling into the well of pleasure that was Venus' embrace. She was released before she was completely lost. Stumbling in a daze, Venus caught her and lowered her to the floor.
"Breathe, Denise. This will be hard."
Zoey's clouded mind didn't understand how any of it could be unpleasant. A single touch from Venus always sent waves of ecstasy through her body, and a kiss was practically an orgasm. The burning started before she could raise any questions. Deep and hot in her back. She doubled over from kneeling, her head touching her ground. Venus had called it pain, but it was worse than agony. Silent screams came from Zoey's open mouth as she felt her skin and flesh split. Tears flowed from her eyes, and up into her hair. A cool touch on her shoulder helped bring her mind back to its centre.
"Focus, Denise. It will pass soon."
She sure hoped so. Zoey didn't know how long she could last. Her whole body tensed as she curled up tight, letting out a surprisingly long scream. It was over. She lay face down on the carpet, a sweaty, naked mess. Kind hands helped her sit up as Venus smiled down at her.
"You've done well, my Priestess of Venus. Few have the mental fortitude to…."
She was cut off by the door bursting open. Lillian was surrounded by a rectangle of soft evening light. She was panting hard with the effort it'd taken to kick the door in.
"ZOEY! I heard a scream! Are you…..HOLY SHIT!"
The goth backpedalled at the sight. Zoey wasn't really surprised. She'd been meaning to introduce the girl to Venus eventually, and the goddess could be breathtaking.
"Calm down Lillian. This is Lady Venus. Our patron deity. We've talked about this, remember?"
A shaking, pale finger raised. Not at the divine stranger, but at Zoey herself.
"No! Your…Your BACK!"
A strange exclamation.
"My back? What's wrong with…..my….."
The glistening sheen caught Zoey's eye. Long, thin, delicate. The wings twitched slightly, a strange sensation. She could feel their every movement as they fully extended, still damp. She turned excitedly to the gently smiling goddess.
"Focus Denise, don't think about the movement, just concentrate on going up."
Zoey nodded, closing her eyes. She cleared her mind, picturing herself hovering just off the ground. The four dragonfly-like wings buzzed quietly as they sped up, lifting the thin girl into the air. Her heart pounded with glee as she fluttered around slowly. They seemed to work on the same principle as her other powers. Belief. Landing back down, her brow furrowed for a moment before the wings vanished, leaving her just as human as before, at least, in appearance. The goddess's smile was like a proud mother watching her child take their first steps. She turned to the frightened figure hiding by the door.
"You. Lillian, was it? Approach."
Stumpy, thick legs took quick steps as the girl entered the room. Venus' commands were very hard to disobey.
"I understand that you were of great assistance to my apostle in the defence of this world. Is that right?"
The dark haired goth glanced at Zoey for reassurance before nodding.
"Very good. I grant you the sight of the goddess. The same power I gave to Denise when she began her training."
A slight kiss to the short girl's forehead was all it took. Lillian stumbled back, unsure what'd happened.
"Nothing's changed…."
"Of course it hasn't. You must make my symbol to see the unseen."
Zoey gave a demonstration for her confused girlfriend, making a heart with her thumbs and index fingers. Lillian copied the gesture, aiming her "lens" at Zoey. She immediately fell backwards, blown away. Zoey had had the same reaction the first time she'd seen herself. Even if it was a miniscule fraction of Venus' power, it still shone with an unmatched force. She let the girl struggle to get up for a moment, until the coughing started. A laboured, wheezing noise, painful even to listen to. She dropped to Lillian's side instantly, holding the girl steady and getting her inhaler ready. A comforting backrub was all she could offer as Lillian took several deep, calm puffs. Venus looked down on the pair with mild disappointment.
"Why does she suffer so?"
"She's asthmatic, Lady Venus. I apologise for her condition, but she needs the inhaler to breathe."
The woman was over them in a flash. She lifted Lillian's shirts, exposing her chest.
"H-Hey! What're you…..OH! Ohhhhhh…"
The goddess's lips worked their magic on the goth's weighty breast, kissing at each nipple. Lillian's body shuddered with a climax as Venus pulled away.
"No apostle of mine is going to suffer poor health. Breathe girl, breathe deeply."
Zoey readied the inhaler, but Lillian didn't need it. Each inhale came easier, filling her healthy lungs with fresh, lavender scented air. The pair looked up with gratitude at the tall, imposing figure.
"With your new gifts I trust you both to serve me faithfully, spreading love in the name of Venus."
"Yes Lady Venus."
"Yeah, sure thing."
Lillan got to her feet, wandering off to explore her new power. A firm hand pulled Zoey back, close enough that the distracted girl would not hear their conversation.
"I have one last gift for you, Denise. Take this ring, and wear it should you ever wish to continue your legacy."
She slipped Zoey a simple gold band.
"Many thanks, Lady Venus. Erm, how does it work?"
"Slip it on your finger, and you will be able to propagate with another female."
Zoey's blank look must've told Venus she still had questions. The goddess rubbed her head with a sigh.
"A dick, Denise. Wear the ring, and you'll grow a dick. Understand?"
Zoey felt the blush creep into her dark cheeks. She could have a lot of fun with Lillian.
"Yes, Lady Venus."
"Good. I expect to receive a call on Valentine's Day as well."
Grabbing her cake, the goddess turned and vanished in a puff of cool smoke. Zoey eyed the curvy girl meandering about, making hearts at everything. She turned the ring in her fingers. They would have such fun worshipping the goddess tonight.
