Chapter 2: Betrayal
Pax POV
I groaned a little bit as I felt Wheeljack shaking me a little bit before feeling myself being picked up. I could barely move, it seemed like my system was shutting down finally due to all of the stress and past experiences all rushing back "Don't worry Pax, I'll take care of ya and so will doc," he whispered. I began to go back into recharge as I went limp in his arms as past memories came back….
I began walking with the rest of the small group of medics/soldiers through one of the many war-destroyed cities on Cybertron. Though this one seemed much worse than the others I had seen over the cycles. I glanced around at the various buildings as well as the bots that were not claimed by either side after the countless battles. Sparkless husks left to rust and just another casualty within this war. My thoughts run rampant before looking over at a stylish red mech with kind red optics. "Calm down Pax, we'll all make it back this time no need to cause stress marks to appear on your faceplates and cause you to look so much older," he said as he rolled his optics.
"I am still uneasy after everything with Firestorm and with all the lectures from Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime. A little kindness would be greatly appreciated Knockout, besides you said that the last couple of times we lost triage medics due to the Decepticons and us not sticking together like we were trained to do," I sighed as the group of medical soldiers were led by Sentinel Prime. "I am shocked that Sentinel made this arrangement with the Decepticons to allow us to help each other's troops within this neutral sector and get some supplies . He isn't the best when it comes to negotiating things when it relies on him having to agree with others," I elaborated.
"I am too, but we shall see what is actually going on once we meet up with the Decepticons. Perhaps these Decepticons are just trying to save others like us," Knockout said. After a few clicks, the group met up with the Decepticon medics and scientists. Amongst the group was Shockwave. Shockwave glanced around at the group of Autobots. He then looked right at me, right into my very being it seemed. "Something seems off," Knockout whispered as he took a couple of steps back. "What is Sentinel up to?"
I looked up at Sentinel as he walked over and looked at Shockwave before nodding and glancing over his shoulder. "Get them and prepare them to become Decepticons or become my experiments, in exchange the Autobots will get some of our resources," Shockwave said in his deadpan tone. All of the Autobots looked at each other before turning around and began running away from the Decepticons.
Knockout was running beside me, "Keep going with the rest of the team, I'll stall them," I said as I stopped and turned around. I extended my side blades and began blocking the blaster shots with them.'I can't let any more of them die, I already lost my partner, I can't let more medics die, I can't let any more of my family die.' I reached behind her to her medical pack and got a needle of some fluid that would knock someone out with ease. I ran and dodged the blaster shots and other attacks, trying to make it to Shockwave to remove him from the situation. Some blaster shots pierced my white armor as I made my way through the troops and fallen soldiers. I finally made it close to him and prepared to stab him with the needle, but before I could even pierce the cords of his neck, Sentinel grabbed me and slammed me to the ground before grabbing my blades and ripping them from my forearms, causing me to drop the needle. Sentinel stomped on the needle and tossed my blades into the ground next to me. I screamed and tried to reach for my blaster on my hip to shoot one of them before Sentinel pushed me down to the ground. He reaches down and grabs my blaster and throws it to a different soldier. Pain and panic was coursing through my system
"The daughter of Optimus Prime," Shockwave said as he aimed his blaster arm right at my helm. 'How did he know that…barely anyone knew who my creators are' My white armor with orange and blue accents was scuffed to reveal gray armor underneath and covered in my own energon. I groaned and tried to get out from under Sentinel's grip. "She will make an excellent test subject," he said. I continued to struggle before Sentinel knocked me out with the handle of his sword.
I woke up later strapped down to a medical table in what I presumed was Shockwave's Laboratory. Other Autobots were also strapped to the table screaming and begging for some sort of mercy while others were ready to fight for their lives. I groaned and tried to break free, not ready to join the Allspark yet. I heard someone walking towards me and turned my helm to see Knockout. "Knockout, what are you doing, run! Quickly go get some help" I said as I continued to try to break the restraints holding my weak frame to the table.
"I am sorry Pax, I choose to adapt and work with them rather than fight them. I don't want to be harmed or anything like others were," he said as he transformed his hand into his saw and placed it over my spark chamber. "Shockwave has something special he wants to do with you. Something about augmentation to sparks and something to do with outliers, especially with how rare they are, how rare you are," Knockout said.
"Stop giving me a fragging lecture about what he has planned and let me go," I begged as I tried to move and felt his blade move against my chest. "Knockout you made an oath when we became part of the Triage Team….please we're family," I pleaded.
"No…we're just bots trying to survive in this war," he said simply as he had his blade rotate on my chest a couple of times to make a mark within my armor. "Open your chest, or I will force you to open it," Knockout growled and smirked. I had never seen this evil side of him. "Please, Pax, I want to survive, not perish. The Decepticons are winning this war, it is best to adapt to save ourselves and our planet. The one I love is on this side…wouldn't you want to be with Firestorm if she were alive?" Knockout elaborated.
"Knockout…please," I mumbled as my optics widened before he began sawing at my chest. I screamed and after a few moments forced my chest to open to my spark chamber. He went over and grabbed a piece of metal and placed it into my mouth to keep me from screaming loudly. He began sawing at my spark. I screamed in pain and passed out as I felt my spark leave my body for a few moments.
I groaned as I felt my body being shaken again. I opened my optics and saw an orange and white mech standing over me and scanning me. I groaned and blinked and his colors shifted to a purple, with a bright red optic. "Nooo, please stop," I begged as I groaned. "I'm not becoming a Decepticon, but please stop making me do this," I mumbled again. Shockwave was going to experiment on me again, Wheeljack let them get a hold of me. He promised he would protect me. Why does everyone close to me end up hurting me or abandoning me?
Normal POV
Ratchet was standing over Pax and noticed her rambling on and on. He scanned her and frowned as he looked over the scan and noticed her spark was different. "What in the pits," he said as he walked back over to her and reached down and pressed a couple of pressure points, and forced her to open her chest to her spark chamber. Half of her spark was the normal blue and the other half was not there or seemed to be clear and just swirling like the remainder of the spark. "It would appear her spark has been altered in some way," the medic mumbled. "Though that is not what is making her sick, it would seem the stress over the eons has come back to bite her in the aft," Ratchet elaborated to Wheeljack and Bulkhead. "She will simply need Energon and rest to make it through this and to be further looked at as she improves," Ratchet said.
