"So, any idea when Roy will be cleared for duty?" Mike asked as he followed his crew mate into the day room.

"Not for another week, Brackett's insisting he does another week of PT before he clears him," Johnny told him, sighing as he added. "I'm just hoping that I don't end up with Brice as my partner next week."

"You're not the only one, Gage," Chet announced as he entered the day room behind them, "The last time he was here, he reported me to Cap three times for conduct unbecoming a fireman."

"That's because you soaked him with that water bomb in his locker." Marco reminded him as he scooted past his three friends and headed towards the coffee pot.

"Then you got him with the loose lid on the saltshaker," Mike added as he headed towards the table, nodding as Marco held up a mug, silently asking if anyone else wanted a mug of coffee.

"And don't forget the shaving cream you put in his boots!" Johnny grinned as he pulled out the chair before looking back over his shoulder at Chet, remembering the look on Brice's face as he slid his foot into the booby-trapped boot.

"Shaving cream in his boots?" Tim McKinley asked, "Wish I had seen that!"

"Ahh, one of the Phantom's favorite pranks." Chet grinned, looking at the dark-haired paramedic who was replacing Roy while Roy was out on sick leave, as he rubbed his hands together gleefully.

"And one that almost got the 'Phantom' and you pulled up before the Chief, you Twit! You were just lucky I was able to talk him out of filing an official complaint." Cap growled as he followed his men into the dayroom. accepting the mug of coffee that Marco held out to him as he walked across to his chair at the table. Looking at the large white box that he was certain had not been there before everyone went out to rollcall but was now sitting, prominently, in the middle of the table, he sat down before he reached across and pulled the box closer. "For All The Firemen Of Station 51" he read aloud before he carefully opened the lid.

"What is it, Cap?" Johnny craning his neck to try and see into the box as Chet, Marco, Mike, and Tim crowded around Cap.

"It's a cake." Cap grinned as he lifted the three-layered cake which was covered in a thick layer of chocolate icing and topped with a small red fire engine and several plastic firemen who were holding a plastic hose that had blue plastic water spraying out of it. Placing it carefully on the table in front of him as John quickly moved the cake box out of the way. Frowning, he looked inside the box for a note or something which would tell them who left it but finding none, he shrugged. "I guess who ever gave us the cake wanted to remain anonymous. But they wanted us to eat it, so let's not disappoint them. Dig in!" He smiled as he looked back up and accepted the knife that Chet handed him. Carefully removing the cake's decorations, he began to slice up the cake, before placing a piece on each of the plates that Marco had grabbed out of the cupboard and passing the plates around as Marco handed out the forks.

"Man, this is so good!" Johnny mumbled around his mouthful of cake.

Tim nodded his agreement as he placed another forkful of cake into his mouth, closing his eyes in appreciation of the cake's rich, moist chocolate flavor.

"Who ever baked this really knows how to cook!" Mike grinned, spearing another piece of his cake, and putting it into his mouth.

"I always thought that Em bakes the best cakes that I have ever tasted," Cap announced as he swallowed a mouthful of cake. "But I was wrong!" he laughed, taking another bite of the richly flavored cake.

"Man, if only everyone decided to show their appreciation for what we do like-" Chet groaned as the rest of his sentence was silenced by the sound of the claxons echoing through the station.

"Station 51, Station 110, traffic accident with injuries, corner West 220th and Main-"

"Oh, Man!" Johnny muttered, shoveling another large mouthful of cake into his mouth as he rose to his feet before dropping the fork back on his plate and turning to follow Chet. Marco and Mike as they placed their plates with the half -eaten pieces of cake down on the table and followed Cap out into the bay.

"Happens every time!" Tim grumbled as he picked up the rest of his piece of cake and hurriedly popped it into his mouth, trying to swallow it whole, as he turned and followed the rest of the A-Shift out of the room.
