Haloha, everyone! Hope you're having a good day! Thanks for the continued support as always!
Don't really have much to say this time around. Just been busy with life and all that.
Anyhow, enjoy reading!
Chapter 35: Natsu vs. Wendy!
The two dragon slayers explored the resort after having lunch together. They ran around, hand in hand, letting their hearts lead the way.
"There are so many places to check out!" Wendy exclaimed. "It's like a maze!"
"That's where the fun begins!" Natsu beamed, keeping up his pace with her. "Come on, let's head on an adventure!"
Through glass displays on their left and right, they could see a diverse number of places to visit. So many shops, attractions, facilities, and the like as far as their eyes could see. It was a dive into the unknown. One day, even a week, wouldn't be enough to fully explore all the areas the resort had to offer… and this was on a single floor.
BOOM!
"Woah…" Natsu stopped running as the fight to his right caught his attention. He pressed his palms and face against the glass, focusing on the wizards battling each other. Explosions and crashes scattered around the battlefield.
"Wow, it's a battle arena." Wendy walked to his side and paid attention to the wizards. They were fighting in a dome-shaped arena. "It's like the one we saw on that screen."
"That's so cool!" Natsu clenched his fists with excitement. "They're both going all out!"
The two wizards didn't hold back, giving each other everything they got. What Wendy found interesting was their magic attacks were nullified once they reached the barrier of the dome that was enclosing them. That's kinda neat…
Wendy turned her head to Natsu. His eyes seem fixated on the fight. Earlier, he wanted to fight Gray and Jellal in the arena… she was starting to feel bad about not wanting him to fight. Natsu loved his brawls with his fellow guildmates. It wasn't out of ill will either. It often seems he just wants to dominate his opponent on the battlefield, but this was his way of respecting his opponent's strength. Regardless of their strength, he'd always respond by giving his best.
"You might already know this, but he also likes to challenge others for a good fight."
Erza's words from a while ago flashed through her mind. A surefire way to grow closer with Natsu was to challenge him one-on-one. It shouldn't really come as a surprise to her. What if there was a way to have Natsu's attention while trying out the battle arena? I think I know just the thing!
"Uhm, Natsu?" Wendy tugged on the sleeve of his shirt.
"What's up, Wendy?" Natsu turned to her, shifting his gaze away from the fight.
"Do you want to… check out the battle arena?" she asked timidly.
"Oh…" Natsu glanced at the arena for a brief moment. Wendy could see conflict in his eyes. "I would love to but…"
"Come on!" Wendy grabbed his hand and pulled him along. "Let's check it out!"
"O-Oh, sure?" Her change of mind left him confused. I'm not complaining, though.
They walked down the stairs and moved into an empty battle arena. It seemed they had several battle arenas for free use. As they stepped into the arena, they got access into a wide field.
"Wow…" Natsu's eyes widened with surprise. "There's a lot of space around here."
"It looks much bigger up close." Wendy agreed.
A holographic screen faded into view in front of them with an audible sound.
"WELCOME TO BATTLE AREA #7. PLEASE CUSTOMIZE THE SETTINGS TO YOUR LIKING." A female robot voice played.
"Woah…" the two dragon slayers inched their faces closer to the touch screen.
I think if I follow what Erza did before… Wendy tried placing a finger on it and pressed a button.
The field quickly changed into grasslands from the empty field it was before.
"What the?!" Natsu flinched. "The area just changed!"
"It seems we can set up how the arena looks…" Wendy stroked her chin in deep thought. On the screen, it showed various settings to change, such as victory conditions, environmental hazards, power-ups, and many others.
"That's really awesome." Natsu folded his arms. "Imagine having this back in our guild. We could train all day long!"
"Haha, that would be neat." Wendy nodded, then proceeded to change a few settings. "Wanna go for a single round with me?"
"… Huh?" he titled his head at a curious angle.
"I… want to challenge you to a fight, Natsu." She declared.
"…" he froze in place, trying to understand what she just asked him.
… was this a bad idea? Nervousness began settling down into her body. Wendy figured she could kill two birds with one stone by challenging him. They could spend time together, and he'd let loose with his magic powers. Though his prolonged silence made her think twice…
"Of course, Wendy!" Natsu pumped his fists up. "I would love to challenge you!"
"O-Oh!" Wendy let out a long sigh of relief and smiled. "I'm glad to hear that!"
Wendy went with the default settings since she wasn't too knowledgeable about how it worked. The victory condition activated was the last one standing.
"YOUR SETTINGS HAVE BEEN REGISTERED. PLEASE HEAD TO YOUR RESPECTIVE STARTING POSITIONS." The next voice played from the screen before fading slowly into the air.
"Cool!" Natsu turned around and saw a red marker glowing on the ground. On the side opposite of it, Wendy saw another marker, though it was blue instead.
"We've never really challenged each other, haven't we, Natsu?" Wendy asked as she walked over to the blue marker.
"Haha, I believe this is our first time." Natsu replied, standing on the red marker. "This is really exciting! You're going to be a tough one!"
Wendy found his excitement infectious. It raised her morale. After they stood on the markers, a virtual clock appeared in the sky, which started counting down from 10.
"Hey, Wendy!" An idea popped into his head. "Let's make a bet!"
"A bet?" Wendy wondered what it could be.
"The loser does anything the winner wants!" Natsu puffed his chest outwards. "How does that sound?"
"W-What?" Wendy's mouth went agape at his suggestion. What kind of bet is that? Honestly, she wasn't confident in herself. I don't know if I could win against Natsu in a fair fight… still, what if she did? If I won, I could ask him anything…! A million ideas flashed through her head, leaving a faint blush in her cheeks. Her face heated up at some of the questionable ideas but…
"You're on, Natsu!" Wendy cried out, pointing at him.
"Hehe!" Natsu slammed his fist into his palm. "Let's go all out, Wendy! No holding back!"
"I wasn't planning to!" Wendy clenched her fists together, mentally preparing herself. "Give me all you got!"
I'm challenging Natsu to a fight... After the countdown reaches zero, they'd be giving each other their all. Ever since she joined Fairy Tail, she always looked up to Natsu. She wanted to be powerful, worthy enough to stand by his side. She deeply admired his strength, and the fact Natsu respected hers as well made her happy.
This sure reminds me of the day I fought Sherria at the Grand Magic Games… Wendy wasn't really fond of fighting at that time, but for the sake of her guild, for Natsu, she'd give her all. When Natsu defeated the twin dragon slayers all on his own in a powerful display, that was the moment she decided… that she wanted to be strong like him. Strong for their comrades.
Wendy wasn't really fond of fighting Natsu, but perhaps she would make this an exception. Things are different now. This could be a valuable learning experience… Also, she could ask him anything her heart desires if she won.
The countdown turned zero, signaling the start of the fight.
I want to be strong, just like him! Wendy took a deep breath. I want to prove my strength to him!
"I'm fired up now!" they both cried out as they charged at each other.
"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" Almost instantly, Natsu roared out a burst of flames from his mouth.
What the?! Wendy ducked down quickly, letting the flames shoot over her head.
Natsu stepped in front of her quickly and swiped his leg enclosed with flames to her side.
"Guh!" Wendy raised her arms to block his leg, successfully absorbing the attack. He's fast!
"SKY DRAGON TALON!" Wendy backflipped, striking her magic-infused legs upwards to hit him and create some distance. A gust of wind appeared between them.
Natsu jumped backwards to avoid her attack. He grinned at her. "Pretty cool, Wendy!"
His compliment tingled all the way to her heart. She didn't expect it would feel this nice to be praised by him. I… want him to praise me more.
"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!" Natsu leapt forward and drove his fist of flames forward.
Wendy crossed her arms in front of her face and imbued it with sky magic as his fist connected with it. His attack was strong enough to push her back, but not enough to break her defenses.
"SKY DRAGON WING ATTACK!" Wendy crossed her arms overhead and swung them forward, unleashing a burst of spiraling wing blades.
That's quick! Natsu dashed to the side and somersaulted, avoiding most of her wind attacks which exploded behind him.
He slammed his fists into the ground and ignited it, creating a wall of flames which crawled towards Wendy.
Wendy swiped her hands around herself, generating a burst of wind to blow away the flames. As soon as the flames dispersed, Natsu moved to the right in front of her vision.
"FIRE DRAGON TALON!" Natsu swung his leg downwards, again connecting with her arms.
"SKY DRAGON TORNADO!" Wendy channeled her magic energy into her arms and released a giant tornado directly up above her.
Woah?! Being caught up in her tornado, he found it difficult to break through it. He ignited himself in flames and broke through her violent winds, sustaining some cuts on his clothes.
Oh no, did I overdo it?! Looking at the state of his clothes. Wendy's face grew with worries. She knew Natsu had an incredibly durable body, but still… She hated to see him get hurt.
"That surprised me, Wendy!" Natsu beamed, shifting into his battle stance. "Keep it up!"
"Oh!" It seems her worries were for naught. Just seeing his energetic smile eased her mind. "All right!"
…
..
.
"They have a lot of these… channels, is that what it is called?" Gray asked. He was sitting on the couch watching an advanced lacrima television. On his hand was a remote he fumbled with.
"Certainly." Erza nodded. "It seems these channels are quite diverse. They could be used for entertainment and educational purposes."
"Huh, I see…" he switched from channel to channel, looking for something interesting to pass the time. He then stopped on a channel which seemed to showcase two wizards fighting. The Battle Arena Camera? This looks interesting…
He put the remote down and folded his arms. They're really going all out there…
"FIRE DRAGON TALON!"
"SKY DRAGON TORNADO!"
Gray raised an eyebrow. Those attacks sounded really familiar to him for some reason. Wow, they're both dragon slayers… a fire dragon slayer… a sky dragon slayer… where have I heard this before…
"Huh." Erza sat on the couch beside him and directed her eyes to the screen. "Isn't that…"
They looked at the screen, then at each other, then back at the screen.
"Wait a minute!" Gray quickly stood up from the couch as a wave of realization hit him. "That's Natsu and Wendy!"
Erza narrowed her eyes at the screen, making sure she wasn't seeing her fellow guildmates duking it out with each other. "It… really is them."
"What are those two boneheads doing?" Gray ruffled his hair.
"Doing what they do best." Erza sighed with a smile.
…
..
.
"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!"
"SKY DRAGON ROAR!"
The dragon slayers roared their respective elements. Streams of fire and wind connected at the center, resulting in a huge, destructive explosion that nearly shook the arena to its core.
"You're really amazing, Wendy!" Natsu grinned at her. "I haven't had this much fun in a while!"
"O-Oh…" once again, her heart fluttered at his words. She was surprised she even managed to keep up with him. More than anything, she was happy to know he enjoyed their fight. I want to impress him even more! That thought drove her to try harder.
"Let's take it up a notch!" Natsu clenched his fists, increasing his magical energy levels. Bursts of flames and sparks of lightning swirled around his body. Lightning exploded outwards, covering his body in a fusion of the two elements. "LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON MODE!"
Wendy took a deep breath to calm herself and focus her mind. This will be tough…! Natsu could take on two dragon slayers in Dragon Force, and he didn't even use his lightning. But I've improved a lot since then! Air pressure began rising around her, her dress fluttering in the wind. A burst of light enveloped her. White dragon scales appeared around her wrists and ankles. Her hair curved upwards and changed into a brighter pink. A terrifying aura cloaked her figure, signaling she entered Dragon Force.
"LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON SWORD HORN!" Natsu took the initiative, igniting her body in flames and lighting. He launched himself forward.
"Arms! Armor! Vernier!" Striking a dramatic pose, Wendy cast a full enchantment on herself, boosting her overall capabilities. She clapped her hands, generating a shockwave which shifted Natsu's trajectory of attack, causing him to shoot past her.
I missed! Natsu dug his hands into the ground, decelerating himself and moving his stance into a handstand.
"LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" he roared out a powerful wave of fire and lightning, aiming it straight at Wendy.
"SKY DRAGON ROAR!" Wendy twisted herself and released a violent tornado from her mouth to counter his roar. Both blasts connected and evolved into a mega explosion, leaving a crater in its wake.
"Wooh…!" Natsu panted and regained his balance. "You're something else, Wendy! You're getting me all fired up!"
"We're just getting started!" Wendy giggled. His praise sounded like music to her ears. She didn't expect to have this much fun training with him.
…
..
.
"They're really getting crazy over there…" Gray commented.
"That's to be expected between two dragon slayers." Erza replied.
"Could they blow the arena up?" Gray asked with concern. "Those energy barriers don't look sturdy enough…"
"I think we don't have to worry." Erza waved her hand. "I read that these battle arenas were designed for this exact reason, so wizards could unleash their full potential without any setbacks."
"Hmmm… that's reassuring."
"Natsu may have a talent for destroying anything he touches. This battle arena is perfect for people like him." She chuckled.
…
..
.
"Hoh, boy…" Natsu dropped his hands to his knees, tapping out of his Lightning Fire Dragon Mode. He had to stop, as it was putting a lot of strain on his body.
Natsu… Wendy's heart ached at the sight. Being the Sky Dragon Slayer, she could naturally regenerate her stamina and magic at a much faster rate. Though, being in Dragon Force did put a lot of stress on her body. She actually had a decent shot at Natsu now if she wanted to take it. Seeing him in this state made her hesitant.
"Wendy!" Natsu shouted her name. "Let's try something out!"
How is he still so lively after this? Wendy thought, but she couldn't deny that it was one of his qualities she loved.
"What is it?" she asked.
"Let's use our most powerful attacks!" he exclaimed, putting his hands on his hips. "Let's finish this in a single strike!"
My most powerful attack… it would have to be her secret art. Is Natsu going to use it, too? If this was the deciding strike… I can't lose here!
Both Natsu and Wendy shifted into their casting stances. They both focused on their energy, bringing it to maximum levels.
"Dragon Slayer Secret Art…" they both chanted silently. Wendy pooled all the magic energy into her palms while Natsu ignited his fists in searing flames, exuding a powerful aura outward.
It's all or nothing!
"SHATTERING LIGHT SKY DRILL!" Wendy combined the immense energy in her hands and released a devastating sky beam, blasting its way towards Natsu.
"FLAME LOTUS: EXPLODING FLAME BLADE!" Natsu swiped his hands in a circular fashion and released a torrential burst of destructive flames, barraging towards Wendy.
Both their powerful attacks collided in an extremely violent explosion, shaking not just the battle arena, but the entire resort to its very core. Unable to be contained, their magical energy of sky and flames combusted outwards, piercing against the protective energy barrier of the dome. With so much magical power condensed in one spot, the barrier ultimately shattered under intense pressure.
The entire resort went into a blackout, shrouding them in darkness.
…
…
.
"…" Gray and Erza stare dumbfoundedly at the screen… which was off, so they were staring into nothingness, more accurately.
"The lights just turned off!" Juvia stepped out of her room. "What's going on?"
"Was there a malfunction?" Jellal walked to the living room, concerned.
Immediately, the lights were turned back on. The screen resumed showing the battle arena camera with the barrier visibly restored.
"Oh, it's back on!" Juvia said.
"Must have been a slight mistake." Jellal guessed.
"… what was it about those battle arenas being designed for people like Natsu?" Gray asked as he facepalmed himself. "Gotta hand it to him, he's got a talent for destroying things."
"Those two…!" Erza stood up, clenching her fists tightly. "I'm going to give those two a stern lesson!"
…
..
.
The explosion left a cloud of smoke which spread around the battlefield. Some of the smoke cleared up, revealing the two dragon slayers… with ruined clothes and bruised bodies.
"Uh…" Natsu blinked a few times. "I may have… overdone it."
"… We, Natsu." Wendy corrected him. "We may have overdone it."
As more of the smoke cleared, Natsu could now see Wendy through the fog. Her white dress was torn here and there… revealing some of her… inner….
WRAP!
"N-Natsu?"
"Here." Natsu had wrapped his scarf around Wendy's delicate body in the blink of an eye. "Ahm, your dress… uh… sorry." He averted his gaze, blushing a little.
"Oh?" Wendy bowed her head down to look at herself. My dress…! She instinctively pulled the scarf down. A faint red grew on her cheeks as she realized what he meant. "T-Thank you…"
"No problem…" he replied dryly. "I'm sorry for… destroying your dress."
"It's okay…" Her gaze shifted to his body. His shirt was in a terrible state as well, revealing some of his bare skin and muscles… not that she minded. "I… ruined yours, too."
"Guess we're even, then." He chuckled, then gently took her hand in his own. "We should head back."
"Good idea…" She nodded.
"Erza's going to kill us, isn't she?"
"… Yes."
In their room...
…
..
.
And they were right.
"I can't believe you two!" Erza stabbed her sword into the ground. Her gaze seethed with raging anger. "Your careless actions nearly blew up an entire place!"
"We're sorry, Erza…" both Natsu and Wendy apologized, bowing their heads down. On the floor, they were sitting on their legs with their palms on their knees.
"You went overboard!" Erza huffed, her grip tightening around her sword. "You shut down an entire resort! AN ENTIRE RESORT!"
The dragon slayer duo remained silent. Her gaze and presence alone were painful enough.
Ouch, I feel bad for them… Gray thought, watching from a distance.
"Seriously, Natsu… you couldn't hold yourself back and you dragged Wendy into this." Erza crossed her arms, then directed her gaze to Wendy. "And you, Wendy! You should have prevented him from doing this!"
"Erza…" Jellal placed his hand on her head to calm her down. "Take it easy. They had no ill intentions. They were just having fun and spending time with each other."
"Mmmh…" she sighed. His pats did wonders to her mood.
"Besides, everything is fixed. The resort anticipated this would happen. No harm is done." He continued as he stroked her head.
"… Fine." Erza rubbed her temples. "You have a point." She grabbed her sword and unequipped it, transporting it using her spatial magic. "We did come here to have fun, after all."
"Right?" Jellal smiled.
"Just… keep it in moderation, you two." Erza returned to her room with Jellal after that parting remark. As she turned around, they could have sworn they caught a glimpse of her smile on her face.
"…" Natsu and Wendy looked at each other, then broke into laughter together.
"That was scary." Natsu sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry, Wendy. Because of me, you had to face her wrath."
"It's fine." Wendy giggled. "We got through it together. Could have been worse."
"Haha…" Natsu stood up and extended his hand towards her. "Let's head back to our room, shall we?"
"Okay!" Wendy happily took his hand and stood. They both returned to their room.
…
..
.
"Phew!" Natsu plopped down onto the bed, facedown. "I'm really exhausted…"
"Yeah…" Wendy sat down on the bed beside him. She glanced at the clock. "It's gotten pretty late."
"Perfect for bedtime!" he raised himself up and shifted into a sitting position beside Wendy.
"We should take a bath and change our clothes first." She said, observing the state of their clothes and bodies.
"Right." Natsu walked over to his wardrobe and opened his backpack to take a change of clothes. "Do you want to… go first?"
"No, it's fine." Wendy shook her head. "You can go first."
"Alright."
Wendy rested her gaze on him. It's been a fun day with him. Though they only spent time in the battle arena, she really enjoyed herself. Speaking of the battle arena… ah!
"Ah, Natsu!" Wendy called out. "We… don't have a winner for the bet, do we?"
"Oh?" Natsu looked at her over his shoulder. "Oh, yeah… guess our battle was cut short, haha."
"Yeah…" Wendy sighed. It would have been nice to win the bet… but then what would I have asked Natsu to do?
"You know what, Wendy?" Natsu walked to her and patted her head. "You deserve the win."
"H-Huh?!" Wendy's mouth went agape. "Me?"
"Yeah!" he flashed his toothy grin. "I had a lot of fun on our date fighting you!"
Wendy was happy to hear that, but she felt reluctant to accept the win so easily. "But…"
"And… consider it my apology for… getting you into this mess." He mumbled, staring at his feet.
I didn't realize he felt that bad about it. Wendy didn't mind at all. I guess for his sake, I'll…
"… Thank you, Natsu." She grinned and accepted the win.
"Great!" he tossed his change of clothes over his shoulder. "What do you want me to do for you, then?"
"Hmmm…" she folded her arms in deep thought and puffed her cheeks for a moment. What should I ask… as her gaze shifted to his change of clothes, a light bulb appeared over her head. Ah, I wonder if that would be fine?
"Ahm…" A faint blush appeared on her cheeks. She twiddled with her fingers nervously. "Could I borrow one of your shirts, Natsu?"
"My shirt?" he raised an eyebrow. "That's it?"
"Is that… not okay?"
"No, it's fine." He turned around to his wardrobe and grabbed a random shirt. "I thought you would ask for something… better than a shirt, y'know?"
You're not wrong… considering they haven't been dating for long, Wendy didn't feel brave enough to ask… something else.
"Ahah, a shirt's enough." She replied.
"Okay." he handed her one of his shirts. "I'll go ahead and take a bath first."
Natsu went into the bathroom and shut the door. Moments later, Wendy focused on her dragon hearing and heard running water.
Wendy clutched the shirt in her hands. She brought it to her nose and took a few sniffs. It smells just like him… his scent was comforting, made her feel safe just like the scarf around her shoulders.
She walked over to her wardrobe and took a towel, some short pants, and undergarments, then returned to the bed and waited patiently. Her eyes scanned over her body, noticing multiple bruises from their battle. She moved her palms over her bruises and pooled her magic energy through her body, healing herself. The bruises slowly faded away, as if they never existed in the first place. I should heal Natsu later… I hope he isn't too hurt.
After a while, Wendy could hear the sound of a door unlocking. Having finished his bath, Natsu stepped out of the bathroom, rubbing a small towel over his damp hair. Wendy could smell the shampoo he used. Smells sweet. Most importantly, she could smell his fresh scent, which tingled its way to her heart.
"Phew!" Natsu let out a sigh of satisfaction. "Never had a bath like this before."
"That's nice to hear…" Wendy replied, her mind distracted by his scent.
"Your turn." After drying himself off, Natsu plopped down onto the bed.
Wendy nodded and walked to the bathroom. She proceeded to take her bath now…
…
..
.
After a while…
Natsu made himself comfortable on the bed. He adjusted the pillows and blankets, making space for Wendy. He also fumbled around with the lacrima devices and managed to turn off the lights. Girls sure take long baths, huh… he wondered if he should sleep first or wait for her. I am pretty tired. Just as he was considering that…
CLICK!
Done with her bath, Wendy stepped out of the bathroom. "That was refreshing!"
"You sure took your time." Natsu said in a joking manner, raising himself from the bed. "How was the…" his voice trailed off as his eyes fell on her brown orbs, shining through the darkness.
Wendy's long damp blue hair flew downwards, hugging her body and face. They weren't tied to their usual twin tails. He, too, could smell the dampness of her hair and the shampoo she used. It was… sweet to him.
As his gaze shifted downwards, he saw his scarf wrapped around her shoulders… and the shirt he lent to her. The shirt looked oversized for her petite figure. The length of the shirt reached just above her knees and the sleeves went way past her hands. He could barely see her pants.
"Your shirt may be too big for me…" Wendy mused, a light pink covering her cheeks. She raised her hands up and let the sleeves hang down. "But… I like it."
"O-Oh…" Natsu couldn't take his eyes off her. There was something… different about her. Fresh out of a bath, wearing his clothes… there was just a different, mature aura around her, one he found endearing.
Wendy walked over to the bed and crawled onto it, laying by Natsu's side. "What do you think?"
"I, uh…" Natsu averted his gaze, feeling his face heat up. "You look… yeah." What is this weird feeling… she's just wearing my shirt! His heart throbbed against his chest.
Wendy giggled cutely, enjoying his embarrassed reaction. She affectionately caressed her cheek. I want to see more of his reactions…
"Uh, yeah!" Trying to calm his beating heart, Natsu quickly flipped to the other side. "You know what? It's getting late! We should hit the sack soon!"
"Hehe, okay." Wendy laid her head on the pillow and shifted herself till she felt comfortable. "Good night, Natsu."
"… Night, Wendy."
Silence ensued.
Wendy turned to the other way so their backs were facing each other. She closed her eyes, slowly drifting into slumber… except she couldn't fall asleep.
Of course, she wouldn't! Natsu was right next to her, yet she felt so far away from him. She turned around and despised seeing his back. Despite wearing his shirt, his scarf, and the blanket, she craved his body warmth the most.
"Natsu…" Wendy inched closer to him and rested her chin on his arm, poking his cheek with her finger.
"Mhmm…?" Natsu opened his eyes. He couldn't fall asleep either.
"Cuddle me." She pouted. "I can't sleep."
"… Haha." Natsu let out a long sigh. Happily obliging, He turned his body to face her. "Quite clingy, aren't you."
She turned away from him. Natsu gently coiled his arms around her waist, pulled her close to him, and tucked her head under his chin, effectively making her the little spoon. She snugly fit in his arms. The scent of her hair wafted through his nose, soothing his heartbeats.
Wendy could feel his comfortable body warmth envelop her, making her feel safe and calm. In his arms is where she desired to be the most. He's so warm… wearing his scarf and shirt was comforting, but having him right next to her was the best feeling in the world.
"Better?"
"Much better." Wendy purred into his ear. "Good night, Natsu."
"Night, Wendy."
