Eat it or you can't eat me anymore! The note read and he smirked picking up the plate of vegetables.
"I doubt that, but I'll eat all my food." He said watching her add food to her own plate.
"And your lunch too." She said pointing to the already packed box.
"Yes, princess. I'll eat all my food I promise."
He shoveled the pickled eggplant into his mouth wanting to eat the pile of vegetables quickly. Who knew what she had packed him for lunch? Most likely a meal fit for a normal adult male in her mind. She was always insisting that because of his height and musculature he should be eating more. Never mind that he could barely finish what she considered a small portion.
"Where did you go last night?" She asked and he choked. "Did you think I didn't notice?"
"I just went out for a bit."
"Really? Kanae called me." She said carefully watching him to gauge his reaction.
"Oh?" he acted nonchalant but, in his mind, he was patting himself on the back. Of course, she had called. If she knew what was good for her, Kanae would give Kyoko everything she asked for from now on.
"Kuon." She said shaking her head. She didn't know what he had done but she knew he had done something.
"Hm?"
"You can't go around threatening my friends when one of them has a misunderstanding with me." she said and he quirked a brow.
"That wasn't a misunderstanding. She was being rude." He said annoyed that she was belittling what Kanae had done.
"You used to ignore my phone calls and messages all the time when you were mad." She pointed out.
"Yes, until I realized how much it hurt you. You were the one who told me that I can't go silent. As your best friend I would think Kotonami-san knows how much it hurts you to be shut out." He said then asked, "Why is it easier for you to be mad at me than your friends?"
She shrugged saying, "It's not."
"You yell at me at least ten times a week for my eating habits but Kotonami-san goes on a new diet every month and never gets a lecture."
"That's not true I," she started but then realized it was true. "She's a girl. We have to watch our figures."
"That's extremely backwards. I'm a model and I have to watch my figure. Kotonami-san could maintain her figure by working out. In fact, that is a better option than denying herself food." He said then purposefully pushed his half empty plate away from himself.
Kyoko bit her lip staring at the uneaten food. He smirked daring her to say something. When she remained silent, he pushed it one step further and began to stand up.
"Kuon!" She shouted jumping up after him and reaching for his arm. She pulled her hands back and sighed. "Ok fine maybe I am harder on you about food, but I'm only trying to keep you healthy. I've never seen Moko-san get sick and I've seen you when you were extremely sick."
"Fair enough." Kuon said. "But I am better at judging when I've had enough to eat than I used to be. Yesterday was a mistake that won't happen again I promise."
"Like you promised to eat all your food?"
They stared at each other for a long moment. Kyoko's eyes conveyed an anger that would have made a lesser person cower under the table. While Kuon's devilish smirk was enough to make even the coldest heart swoon. Kyoko pushed his plate back towards him then stood up with her own empty plate.
"Thank you." she said surprising him with a kiss on his cheek. "For protecting me even if I don't agree with how, you handled it."
"Well thank you, for having sex with me tonight." He replied and she couldn't help but smile.
"Why do you always have to be such a pervert?" She asked. She wanted to be annoyed with him, but her smile refused to go away.
"Because you're sexy." He said. "I am going to pick up some more condoms on my way home."
Her face scrunched up. "I can't wait until my doctor's appointment."
He chuckled. "I'll get some special condoms. You'll like them, I promise."
"I doubt it but if you tell me to, I'll try them." She said setting her plate in the sink.
Kuon finished eating then they cleaned up. They were both required on the set of Oh!Darling and neither was looking forward to it. Sho was going to be there to film the scenes directly after Satoshi's murdered body was found.
"How is it Tsuruga-san still looks hot even as a corpse?" Chiori asked once Kuon was in make up and sitting on the ground.
Kyoko shrugged biting her lip. She had to admit even though he looked haunting she still wanted to run her hands all over his body. His shirt was unbuttoned halfway, and blood was smeared on his naked chest. She knew it was a mixture of food coloring, maple syrup, and dish soap, but she wanted to lick it off. She blushed and shook her head at the gross thought. It was his fault. He could try to be a little less attractive while covered in gloopy fake blood.
"Why are you looking at him anyway?" Kyoko asked wanting to focus on anything other than Kuon's chest.
"Like I said he's hot." Chiori replied with zero shame. "How are things with Kanae-chan?"
"She called me." Kyoko said feeling awkward about the whole ordeal.
"And?"
"And everything is fine. Kotonami-san apologized and said it was a misunderstanding." Kyoko said aware that she sounded cold.
"Kotonami-san? The two of you are not fine then." Chiori concluded her face dropping.
"We will be." Kyoko said looking back at Kuon who was receiving instructions from director Anna. "If not, I'll always have him."
"Wow, so none of us matter as long as you have your hunk?" Chiori asked more impressed than annoyed. She never thought she would hear Kyoko admit that Tsuruga meant that much to her.
"You matter Chiori-chan." Kyoko said ready to fall to Chiori's feet for implying that she didn't matter. "All my friends are important."
"I know. I know. I was only teasing. Don't prostrate right now. We're in public and you're my senpai remember." Chiori said hands up ready to catch Kyoko if she dared to bow.
A dark cloud suddenly fell over them and Chiori stiffened. Kyoko turned around just in time to come face to face with Shotaro who was fuming. He seized her arm and yanked her to him to whisper in her ear.
"We need to talk."
"Let go of her." Chiori said placing an arm around Kyoko and a hand on Sho's chest pushing him away.
"We're on set Shotaro at least act like a professional." Kyoko said ripping her arm out of his grasp.
"We need to talk." Sho seethed again trying to sound menacing.
"You need to go over to hair and makeup. You are late and have held production up enough as it is." Kyoko said crossing her arms.
"We will talk, or I'll hit send. I really don't care about the consequences." He was bluffing but he knew Kyoko couldn't take that chance.
"Fine." Kyoko sighed.
"Kyoko." Chiori hissed as the two walked off. Chiori looked around for Ren and Yashiro, but Ren was still with the director and Yashiro was no where to be seen. "Grrr." She stalked after Kyoko and Sho.
"Where were you last night?" Sho asked shoving her against the wall of his dressing room.
"Don't touch me." Kyoko said pushing him off. "I was at home. I'm sorry I forgot about the stupid movie."
"I waited for you, for over an hour. You owe me for that." He said leaning closer to her face.
"I don't owe you anything. We already went on a date." She said shoving his face away.
"Whatever, I'm taking you out to eat tonight." He said though his voice was muffled by her hand still pushing him.
"Can't."
"What do you mean can't?" he asked not appreciating her attitude.
"I mean I can't go. I already have plans." She said walking to the door.
"What plans?" he asked catching her wrist.
"My plans that I already have." She said trying to yank her hand away.
"Cancel them. We're going out to eat. You owe me a date night." He said letting his anger get the better of them.
"I can't cancel them." She said as he twisted her arm. "Sho you're hurting me."
He shoved her against the door squeezing the wrist he had twisted behind her back.
"You owe me a date." He seethed.
"Ow, fine you can have a date tonight." Kyoko conceded struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Good, I'll pick you up around eight." Sho said tightening his grip.
"Are you going to let me go now?" she asked but he only leaned closer.
"No, I think you like this. I've watched Tsuruga manhandle you and you get all hot and bothered for him. I think you like being hurt. I think it turns you on waah!"
The world around Sho spun and he found himself crashing to the floor. His head smacked into the floor, and he groaned. Kyoko had kicked him in the stomach knocking the wind out of him.
"Ow! Fuck Kyoko! What the hell! When did you get so fucking violent?" he asked holding his head and stomach.
"Right around the time you decided it was okay to touch me without permission. Which I might remind you is against the rules of the contract you signed."
"The contract you and your ogre boytoy tricked me into signing." He accused jumping up and reaching out for her again.
Quickly she opened the door and stepped out of the way, so he fell through the entry and down to the floor.
"Really Fuwa-san how many times do you have to have your ass handed to you before you can take the hint? She's not interested in you, at all." Chiori said stepping over Sho and taking Kyoko's arm. "I think they're ready for our scene."
"Really? Did Yashiro-san come back with my jacket? The costume department couldn't find it, so he went to help look." They walked away from a seething Sho.
"She's right you know. You should really take the hint already and leave her alone." Shoko said arriving with an icepack. She knew this would happen.
"She belongs to me." Sho said sitting up and yanking the icepack out of her hand. "I just need to remind her of that."
Later that evening Kyoko sat fidgeting across from Kanae. Chiori looked between the two biting her lip.
"Honestly, why couldn't Tsuruga be here with you two?" Chiori grumbled but it seemed that neither of them heard her. "I'm gonna check on the snacks." She said jumping up and heading to the kitchen.
Kanae watched her go before turning back to Kyoko who was staring down at her fidgeting hands.
"I'm sorry Kyoko." Kanae said fighting her tears. "I was being stupid. Please forgive me."
Kyoko nodded biting her lip and refusing to lift her gaze to meet Kanae's.
"It was a misunderstanding, and I should have asked you about it rather than overreacting."
There was another nod from Kyoko.
"Kyoko?"
A heavy silence fell between them. Kanae's heart fell as she realized that her actions may have lost her, her best friend.
"What was the misunderstanding about?" Kyoko asked finally. Her heart pounded unable to think of what she had done. She didn't think that Kanae would act out about something irrational or stupid. There must have been something bad about her that would make a sensible woman like Kanae act that way.
Kanae opened her mouth tilting her head to the side in discomfort. The words wouldn't come out. It all seemed so silly now. She felt stupid for the way she had treated Kyoko.
"I." She managed to get out before losing her nerve. Taking a deep breath and peaking behind herself she leaned across the table and whispered. "I overheard you and Tsuruga-san talking about the Hizuri family."
Kyoko cocked her head to the side confused for a moment. Of all the things for Kanae to be mad about that had never crossed her mind. She had made a whole list in her head of faults that she wouldn't blame Kanae for finding annoying. There were so many things about herself that she thought it would be reasonable for Kanae to demand that she change. There was nothing about the Hizuri family that she thought would anger Kanae. Aside from their spending habits that Kuon had inherited. Then it hit her.
"You heard us talking about Kuon?" she asked the puzzle clicking together.
"Yes."
"That's it?" she asked a bit annoyed. "No wonder he was so angry."
"I know it was so stupid of me." Kanae lamented.
"You could have just asked me." Kyoko said then she added, "Why didn't he tell me?"
"Probably to punish me." Kanae replied. "You know he said that if I didn't talk to you by the end of today, he would never let me near you again? Hearing that made me so stupidly happy and I don't even know why. He'll protect you from anyone won't he?"
Kyoko shrugged. "He knows that I didn't have friends growing up."
"I'm sorry, Kyoko." Kanae said letting the tears well up in her eyes. She had forgotten that Kyoko was just as alone as she was growing up. Kyoko was always making friends it was easy to forget that she was new at it. "I'm so sorry."
Chiori peered around the kitchen wall wondering what they meant about Kuon and Hizuri. She shrugged it off unconcerned with whatever secret relationship Kyoko and Ren had with Kuu and his family. A broad smile overtook her features as she heard a squeal and a loud thump and looked to see that Kyoko had tackled Kanae to the floor. Kanae for once allowed the smaller girl to hug her.
"Snacks are ready." Chiori announced coming out with the snacks she had microwaved. "They aren't as good as anything Kyoko-chan can make but I like them."
"Where is Tsuruga-san tonight?" Kanae asked feeling awkward as Kyoko clung to her even as they sat up.
"He's on a date." Kyoko said a mischievous smile playing on her lips.
"With Kana-san?" Chiori asked confused by Kyoko's sudden giddiness.
"Nope." Kyoko said her smile widening.
In his car Kuon smirked at Fuwa's bewildered expression. That wide mouth confusion was almost worth having to go back to the club with the idiot. Yashiro had called Shoko to set up their little date night and Kuon was pleased to see that Shoko hadn't spilled the beans. It was clear that Fuwa had expected Kyoko to be his date so when Ren and Kijima had arrived to pick him up Fuwa could do nothing but stare at them with his face stuck in that stupid expression.
"Are you getting in or not? We still have to pick up Koga-san." Kijima said as nicely as possible.
"Where's my girlfriend?" Fuwa asked staring into Kuon's face.
"Depends on who you mean Fuwa-san. I think you left your manager upstairs in her apartment, and I hear that Nanokura-san has publicly broken ties with you. Rumor has it she requested not to be in any future productions with you." Kuon said still smiling.
Sho clenched his fists and spat out, "Kyoko! Where is my Kyoko?"
"You know it's funny, but Kyoko-chan ran off somewhere as soon as she heard you were coming tonight. Something about not having the patience to deal with a whiny bitch baby tonight." Kijima said with a wicked grin.
With a sigh Kuon spoke up before Sho could say anything else, "Mogami-san went out with Kotonami-san and Chiori-chan. It's just us guys tonight." He slapped Kijima's arm to keep him from antagonizing Sho further.
"Whatever, I don't want to spend time with either of you." Sho said about to turn and head back into his apartment. He would make Shoko call Yashiro and demand Kyoko go on a date with him.
"Suit yourself but if you don't spend time with us, you'll never get to see Kyoko-chan again." Kijima shouted. "All the girls in our group have a girl's night and us guys have a guy's night. If you can't join us than you can't be part of the group. It's in your contract to join us."
Sho ground his teeth together wishing he had read the contract before signing it. At the sound of Tsuruga starting the car again Sho turned back around and stomped over to get in.
"You couldn't get into this club without us either unless you were the nights entertainment anyway." Kuon said wanting to rub it in just how much more famous he was than Sho. There were still places that the name Tsuruga Ren got him into that he knew Fuwa Sho could only get on the waitlist for.
"I've gotten in before." Sho said annoyed by the knowledge that the mere mention of Tsuruga held so much weight in all the exclusive celebrity hangouts. Shoko still had to call places weeks in advance to get Sho into some places.
"Do you always go out to nightclubs Fuwa-san?" Kijima asked as Kuon pulled the car back into traffic on their way to pick up Koga.
"I like to go out dancing." Sho answered with a shrug. There was no way this pretty boy actor was going to intimidate him.
"How often?" Kijima asked smiling as Kuon quirked a brow up at him. "Kyoko-chan doesn't particularly like nightclubs, you know. She won't have any fun if you take her there on every date."
"She would if she were with me." Sho said earning a snort from Kuon. "I happen to be an amazing dancer and Kyoko likes dancing! Just because you only take her out to boring karaoke doesn't mean I have to."
"Oh, we dance plenty." Kuon said and though there was no suggestive lilt in his voice both men took the words as a euphemism.
"Yes, we know all about your lunch break." Kijima said rolling his eyes. He'd had to hear about the lunch break from Yashiro who had almost walked in on them. With a wicked grin at Sho's jaw dropping Kijima tagged on, "It's always the quiet ones, isn't it? I bet Kyoko-chan had a hard time keeping quiet at the club the other night. You two were gone for so long."
"We had a lot to talk about." Kuon said with a perfectly stoic expression.
"I'm sure. Missionary. Oral. Doggy. Cowgirl. So many subjects to cover in so little time." Kijima said enjoying Sho's increasingly pale face.
"Kijima, don't talk about my wife like that. We weren't doing anything inappropriate at lunch or at the nightclub." Kuon said with such conviction that they almost believed him.
"Yeah right." Kijima said but his words were overshadowed by Sho's loud quivering utterance.
"Yeah right. I bet the two of you have never gotten past first base." Sho's voice cracked as he spoke willing truth into his words.
"Oh please, I'm surprised the tabloids aren't littered with pictures of them screwing in the hallways. One time I caught them making out in the karaoke box before we were all meant to arrive." Kijima said annoyed that Ren wasn't defending his manhood.
"I don't believe you." Sho said feeling sick.
"Trust me you're wasting your time chasing after Kyoko-chan. I'm telling you she's all over Ren's dick all the time."
"Hidehito!" Kuon's voice boomed in the car silencing the man. In a calmer voice he said, "Do not speak about her like that. There's no need to brag to the likes of him either."
They pulled over in front of Koga's apartment.
"Yeah, don't lie for your friend Kijima. That virgin would never let anyone touch her." Sho said crossing his arms. Kuon tightened his fingers on the wheel but kept quiet. He would not brag about having sex with Kyoko. "I bet on her wedding night the poor bastard who marries her would have to drag her out from under the bed. That is if she can ever convince anyone to wait for her ugly ass to walk down the aisle."
"Fuwa…" Kuon started but Kijima cut in.
"Aren't you the one trying to date her?" Kijima asked in a sharp tone.
"I'm only trying to date her as a favor to her. As her childhood friend I understand her the best. I know that she struggles with gaining attention from men because she's flat chested and hideously plain. Honestly I wish Tsuruga would make her his slut…"
A loud smack echoed in the car followed by Sho whining as he hit the window. Koga shook his hand and took his seat next to Fuwa in the back.
"That's one Fuwa-san." Koga said. "Two more and you're out."
"Fuck!" Sho shouted massaging his jaw. He was going to scream more but he caught the smirk on Kuon's face and sneered at the actor. Let them gang up on him, he thought. Tsuruga would get his.
A/N: Sometimes I hold onto chapters because I think scenes should be longer and so I reread them a couple times trying to flesh them out. Then I remember that I hate filler unless it's Kyoko/Kuon fluff so I leave the scenes as they are. Also sometimes I think I abuse Sho too much poor kid probably has a concussion from Kyoko and now a bruised jaw from Koga in this chapter and Kijima punched him just a few chapters ago. He's just so much fun to be mean to and he never learns.
