Chapter 13: Sister Of The Devil

Time: 1544 Hour; 23rd of July, 2125.

Location: Outside Scarlet Devil's Lair; SDM.

"You, stay there." Harrison the injured Sakuya after dragging her into the room, and closing the door.

Before he runs off to catch up with LT and the others, he yanked a nearby fire extinguisher from the wall and carried it along.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Only 5 dead guards? Really?

Omega E The Reader: Sakuya, Reimu, Remilia, Patchouli and Marisa would have made that guard kill count be higher.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: I'm pretty sure Rumia has a higher kill count than everyone else.

Omega E The Reader: I can agree on that.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Isn't that bullshit?

Omega E The Reader: Yes it is.

Lunatic: How many sins should that be? Just one or a little more?

Omega E The Reader: Maybe a little more.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Fair enough.

Lt Colonel Summers: That was the TOTAL number of dead Guards up until this point, not the kill count of a single person. However, I'm not sure whether to shoot down these sins or not, so I'd keep them for now.

WildMath55: In this case, both me and all of GUF agreed with both Omega E and OverLord, since the real war will have far higher casualties. Make that two sin count increase.

Sin Count: 214

L-O Sin Count: -1 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

...

Location: Front Yard, SDM.

"Looks like the Outsiders are still at where they are: the 3rd floor, right there." Said a Police Squad Captain as she pointed at the 3rd floor windows, which indeed have some silhouette behind them.

"But why are they still up there? Shouldn't the squad have gotten them already?" asked by Kotohime.

"Doesn't seem to have any carnage up there. However, one of the officers did yell something before losing contact." replied the Captain.

"That would be...?"

Before Kotohime's question could be answered, two SDA Helicopters arrived on the scene. The GPF Helicopters made way for them.

"Sweet... Ride..." The Captain commented on the new arrivals.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Why does that Captain say "Sweet... Ride..." to a mass produced (and more primitive than what the kappas can do in canon) helicopter?

Omega E The Reader: It's VERY stupid. I mean sure there are old vehicles that look nice to drive in but when it comes to military vehicles it's best that the military starts to use more advanced ones including the law enforcement.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: They'd be better off ramming their helicopters on their foes.

Omega E The Reader: Like a certain other helicopter pilot.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Exactly.

WildMath55: Charles Calvin? Well, I'll digress on that part, but we're not here for that. I'll pick Command and Conquer Generals mod helicopters for UNM over that anytime soon.

Sin Count: 215

Lt Colonel Summers: Excuse you. But this is the POLICE force of a PRIMITIVE society commenting on one of the MILITARY force of the SAME PRIMITIVE society. They may be primitive to us, but to the Gensokyians, they are pretty much state of the art. That's like a smartphone-era dude saying walkie-talkies are dinosaur tech while in the same year walkie-talkies are invented. Sin transferred to Lunatic and Omega for missing such an incredibly obvious point.

WildMath55: Good thing I just commented about something totally unrelated before I type something that I might regret. Summers is right, though. Even GUF only obtained old techs from UNM because they already have Elite Fighters to more than make it up.

Sin Count: 214

L-O Sin Count: 0

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: True. BUT, the kappas have shown that they have more impressive stuff. Like a backpack copter that can hold more weaponry than these helicopters. And considering how that helicopter goes down like a chump, it doesn't deserve ANY sort of compliment and it just makes the Gensokyans look even dumber.

...

Location: 3rd Floor Corridor; SDM.

"Uh, guys, we got company!" Edge told everyone about the two newly arrived helicopters.

These new helicopters have the SDA Insignia engraved on their sides. They are identical to the GPF Patrol Choppers except that they have two belt-fed machine guns mounted on their landing gear.

"Oh, crap..." LT and Harrison cursed in unison, just as the SDA Attack Choppers started firing on them.

"HIT THE FLOOR!" LT yelled as bullets from the machine guns began tearing up the windows and walls they are facing. Splinters and glass shards littered the floor as the helicopters attempt to shoot down the group.

Harrison, still holding onto the fire extinguisher, struggled to place it in a way that it's bottom is facing one of the Attack Choppers. Grabbing hold of his WL-2, he starts using it as a hammer to knock the safety valve off the extinguisher, while staying low from the ballistics.

After several smashing, the safety valve came off and the tank-full of Carbon Dioxide rushed out, propelling the extinguisher like a rocket toward the Attack Choppers. The now-rogue extinguisher manages to hit the rear propeller of one helicopter and smashes it, sending it spinning into destruction.

The other helicopter attempted to evade the spinning one, but in no avail as they collided and exploded in all directions.

Omega E The Reader: What was the point of that fire extinguisher? In sequel stories the RAIDERS and LT are capable of easily massacring the helicopters without the assistance of that fire extinguisher.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Also, I remember very well how every outside helicopter has a super convenient ejection system and how every pilot had a parachute. Yet no one in Gensokyo has anything even resembling that. Yeah, this whole segment sucks and it sucks even more in hindsight.

Omega E The Reader: Whoever made these helicopters is very dumb. At least the kappas would have made something better.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: That wouldn't have been demolished by an extinguisher.

Omega E The Reader: Pathetic. 2 sins for losing to a fire extinguisher and also the idiots who made the helicopters.

Sin Count: 216

Lt Colonel Summers: You try throwing a fire extinguisher into the rear propeller of an airborne helicopter in real life and tell me it wouldn't crash. Another two sin transferred to Lunatic and Omega. This oversight is so egregious that the sins about unnecessary use of the fire extinguisher as a weapon and the SDA helicopters' lack of an ejection seat are rendered irrelevant.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Well first, helicopters can DODGE a fire extinguisher as any helicopter pilot considered good enough to be sent on the battlefield should definitely have the skills to evade such an obvious projectile. And also, why does the SDM have a gas extinguisher when Patchouli could easily come up with a more practical magical counterpart?

WildMath55: This time, I both agree and digress. I do agree about the real-life implication of throwing a fire extinguisher on a rear propeller of an airborne helicopter, but I digress about the sin count transfer. Isn't that a little bit excessive, Summers? Minus one on L-O Sin Count. Hope that at least keep my part of the bargain, OverLord. I do agree on the design flaws.

Lt Colonel Summers: Okay, fine. You do have a point about the sin transfer. However, Lunatic and Omega missing the implications of a helicopter taking a fire extinguisher to the rear propeller is still worthy of a sin getting shot down.

Omega E The Reader: I disagree as the kappas they will make helicopter blades that will shred that fire extinguisher very easily and anything else that gets too close to it.

Sin Count: 215 (one of two sins shot down)

L-O Sin Count: 0

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

...

"I can't believe it!" Kotohime exclaimed as she witnessed the SDA Helicopters being destroyed.

The remains of the helicopters crashed directly in front of the mansion door. The heaps of metal still burning.

"Get everyone in there. I want them captured or killed!" Ordered Kotohime.

"Ma'am..." replied the officer. "According to the last word from the units, it appears that..." The officer whispered the rest of the sentence to her.

A sudden thought struck the Chief Officer. "Cancel the last order. Get everyone and fall back!"

"Yes, Ma'am!"

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: See? Total wusses. No reason to even be considered an issue for LT.

Omega E The Reader: Why have they even be created anyways? The incident resolvers are so much better than them at their jobs.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: In this case, it's more that they suck less than these helicopters.

Lt Colonel Summers: They really do suck in this case. No sins transferred here.

WildMath55: We already discussed about GPF in the previous chapter, so the sin count is unchanged.

...

"Well that's weird..." David thought as he saw the entire squadron of GPF units retreating from the SDM.

"Did we scare them?" Edge added to the thought.

"It may not be the case..." Takagi reminded. "Such occurrence possibly means the arrival of a greater threat."

"You mean whatever's behind that bulkhead?" Alice Lou wondered.

"That may be true." LT made the reply. "But if that's the case, we will have to stay away from it. I say we take the shortcut."

The RAIDERS looked at LT after hearing the word "shortcut". Harrison as well.

"Sir..." Harrison tried to remind his superior. "The Raiders can make the jump unharmed, but not me, you and our men."

LT simply withdrew his sword before replying. "Ever heard of the movies?"

Harrison thought for a while, then he nodded for understanding what his superior meant.

...

Location: Front Door, SDM.

"You know, Jack. What you and your men just did may not be possible at all in real life..." David hung a lampshade on the way LT and his men took the "shortcut": sliding down the wall with their swords stabbed into the wall and the sharp edge facing downward.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Another blatant lampshade.

Sin Count: 216

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

"But it just happened." LT reminded. "And don't ask me how's that possible either..." LT hung a lampshade on the explanation he has in mind.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: And another one right after.

Sin Count: 217

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

Without saying another word, LT lifted his right hand up, the hand which happens to be holding onto the build-in handlebar of the ZPM he just retook from the Scarlet Devil.

"One down, three to go..." Harrison reminded of the mission. "The others are respectively placed in a ghostly-looking location, somewhere in a forest of bamboo, and deep underground."

"Wait... All those bizarre locations?" David hung a lampshade once again.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Rule of Three, I guess.

Sin Count: 218

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

LT waved a hand to dismiss the question. "We'll explain next time. For now, everyone should head back to the Landing Site and take some rest." He turns to his men whom were behind him. "Got tha..." He stopped mid-sentence.

LT found himself face-to-face with a Turk, whose head looked like it simply exploded. But the headless body is still upright.

"BATTLESTATIONS!" LT ordered. He did not need to do so, as they all readied themselves upon seeing the headless Turk.

Then there was a soft feminine voice...

"Kyuu~"

...And the headless body exploded in a fireball.

Omega E The Reader: Actually Flandre's kyuu would destroy the ENTIRE body.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: And she would have killed way more than a single Turk. She'd have killed ALL OF THEM!

Omega E The Reader: I can agree on that.

Lt Colonel Summers: I'd have shot this sin down, but circumstances shown later into this fight made me decide to keep it.

WildMath55: You know what title I gave to H-Flandre? Scarlet Destroyer God. So yeah, I agree.

Sin Count: 219

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

"Whoa!" Everyone exclaimed.

"Humongous problem... The massive source of Magika we detected at the bulkhead? It's right in front of us."

"Today I fell like tossing the F-Bomb at everything I see..." David quoted.

As if with no warning, a figure in red landed in the middle of the SDM Front Yard with a loud bang, throwing dust up everywhere.

...

Location: [DATA EXPUNGED]

"Ooh, here comes sweet little Flan-Chan. This will get interesting, hm hm hm..."

"Oh, what do you mean I'm mean? You should see everything with hearts..."

"Still think I'm mean? I'll show you how 'mean' I can..."

...

Location: Front Yard, SDM.

"Let's see who's she in the database... Oh, great. Person-of-mass-destruction, Flandre Scarlet..."

LT quickly withdrew the Boomer and aimed it at the new arrival. So did the Guards and Turks with their respective guns.

With a simple squeeze of her fists, all the guns simply shattered. Bullets scattering from the WL-2, and drops of silver liquid from the Boomer pistols.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Shouldn't they all blow up in a fiery explosion? Killing all of LT's gang and giving this mission, and this series, an early end? Tell me, Lt, how many Boomers broke? Because I want to put one sin for every Boomer that SHOULD have blown up in a fiery explosion but DIDN'T.

Lt Colonel Summers: Actually, Boomers have a fail safe that made it so that only armed bullets can be detonated and can only be armed by being fired or ejected from the clip. As these shattered bullets are neither fired nor ejected, they are not armed and thus won't explode. Although since this wasn't explained beforehand...

WildMath55: And I think Flandre can just shatter the core of each bullets and it will explode, just like what OverLord suggested. No failsafe will work once the core is targeted. Think of ranged version of Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Sin Count: 221

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

"Damm..." LT cursed softly, watching the contents of Boomer bullets on the ground.

Flandre slowly stood up and looked at the group. "Will you play with me?"

Harrison replied with a stammer. "That de... depends o... on how... how you de... de... define pla... play..."

LT added with a calm tone. "You mean blowing stuffs up?"

Flandre squeezed her fist one more time, and another Turk immediately blew up.

"She can cause all matter to explode?!" David exclaimed.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: And we're back to explosions. Pick a result of her kyuuing and STICK TO IT, I say.

Lt Colonel Summers: Not enough research into canon. Plus one sin.

Sin Count: 222

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

LT pulled out some cards from his pockets. The same Cards used by Sakuya.

"Recognize zis, Fraulein Flandre?" LT asked in a taunting way with a different accent.

"Maid-San's Cards?!" Flandre exclaimed.

"Correct. And I've also defeated your sister, Fraulein Remilla." LT replied with the same accent.

"NO!" the little vampire attacked in rage, blowing up random debris around LT, and kept missing him.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Um. Flandre's ability works by manifesting the "eye" of anything in her hand and crushing it. So there is no logical way to "miss". It'd be like if LT put a Boomer round on a fairy, CLEARLY sticking the round onto her, detonated it, and yet he somehow ends up blowing up a nearby fairy instead.

Lt Colonel Summers: Again, not enough research. Plus one more sin from me.

WildMath55: Like I said, ranged version of Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Sin Count: 224

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

LT slapped himself at the situation "That didn't go as planned, for the first time..."

As if without warning, David and Edge appeared out of nowhere. With their weapons raised, both of them charged toward Flandre...

...Only to have her appear to teleport out of the way, causing the duo to smack into each other face-to-face. They then fell down unconscious.

"Ouch." Alice Lou commented on the smacking.

LT thought for awhile for a strategy, then he pointed at the puddle of Di-Lithium Phosphorous-A. "Takagi!" He yelled.

Takagi understands what LT meant, and aimed with his huge sniper rifle at the puddle.

LT diverted his attention back at the little vampire. "You want to play?"

Flandre turned toward LT, while withdrawing a crimson, bilateral spear.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: That is NOT Flandre's weapon! Her weapon is an oddly shaped black staff that can turn into a giant fuck-all flaming sword!

Lt Colonel Summers: The sprite for Laevateinn in non-Spell Card form did look like the spear I said it was when I did research that time. But in hindsight, I may have looked at the wrong source.

Sin Count: 226

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Also, should bringing up the whole "should be a staff and a flaming sword" remove an L-O sin?

Lt Colonel Summers: No, that's not good enough to warrant a subtraction from the L-O Sin Count.

"Come and get some..." LT taunted.

As a reply, Flandre charged toward LT, while spawning three identical copies of herself.

"Four-of-a-kind..." LT commented on her move.

When Flandre is directly above the puddle, LT quickly yelled at Takagi to take the shot.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Why did she not blow up his limbs? And why did she not shoot any projectiles yet?

Lt Colonel Summers: Um... *headdesk* Why did I write this so?

WildMath55: And actually, why didn't she use "Four of a Kind"? "Five of a Kind" is exclusive to H-Flandre, since that Spell Card came from a Touhou fangame.

Sin Count: 227

L-O Sin Count: 0 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

"NOW!"

Takagi fired a shot at the puddle. Upon being hit by the bullet, it exploded in a brilliant fireball, sending Flandre tumbling toward a distance.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Why does the puddle explode when it's shot by bullets but not when the gun containing the liquid gets kyuued (even though everything ELSE that gets kyuued blows up)? In fact, the very act of something exploding when shot with a gun (unless it's something like nitroglycerine) is a very unrealistic reaction. One sin for every Boomer that should've blown up but didn't plus 6.

Lt Colonel Summers: Did I seriously contradict my own lore?

WildMath55: One more from me to complete the number. No Meta Break this time, I guess.

Sin Count: 240

L-O Sin Count: 0

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Does bringing up that contradiction deserve a minus 1 for the L-O Count or not?

Lt Colonel Summers: That's a good enough point that you brought up. Very well, minus one from the L-O Sin Count.

L-O Sin Count: -1

She stayed there, lifeless. But LT is sure she is still alive.

"Can't heal your wounds while basked in sunlight, eh?" LT taunted from a distance. He then turns back toward Harrison, who is clapping his hand with admiration.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: NOTHING implied there was ANY sunlight in the room until THIS VERY MOMENT! I call bullshit on that one! Five sins!

Lt Colonel Summers: I don't even know how to criticize myself here...

Sin Count: 245

L-O Sin Count: -1 (unchanged)

Meta Break Count: 3 (unchanged)

"I'm glad to have a badass boss like you." Harrison cheered.

"Thanks for the cheering. Now someone drag these two and head back to the Landing Site..."

Omega E The Reader: This was the WORST fight ever. Flandre would have used ALL her moves including her duplication ability and weapon during the fight.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: No excuse. No justification. This was BULLSHIT! And she wasn't even given any "badass" thing, at that. I almost feel like giving this 495 sins, but that would be overkill.

Omega E The Reader: Flandre is one of the most OP characters at the time alongside Yuyuko, the Moon Sisters, Yukari and Tenshi. All of whom would have easily thrashed LT and his friends all by themselves.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: Yet she was given what might just be the worst fight in the whole mission! I say 49.5 sins for the horrible fight and 0.5 sins for the fact that the author didn't even bother giving her anything to "make her more badass"!

Lt Colonel Summers: Agreed. WildMath, you may commence the Meta Break now.

WildMath55: What the-?! I guess I spoke too fast... Flan is there right, Yasei-kun?

Yasei Sugaku: Three times in a row?! At least we got a green light now. Show them what this version of you didn't do, Flan!

H-Flandre Scarlet: Okay. Taboo "Five of a Kind"!

*H-Flandre made four clones of herself, and soon afterwards, the Flandres and Yasei teleported.*

H-Flandre Scarlet: All of you, follow me! Taboo "Lävatein"!

Yasei Sugaku: Not so fast! Hell Fist "Drill Inferno"!

WildMath55: Add another five sin counts from me to complete the number and make it 55, just like in my username. Good thing I prepared for this via a foreshadowing in my review.

...

"Looks like they stopped Flan-Chan with their own power. *Sign* No being able to show my being a meanie..."

"You seemed surprised by Mr Summer's mimicking of accent. Sorry, I can't explain it right now..."

"I know they defeated Remi-Sama and took their first tube. I'm not going to let that happen with Yuyu-Sama..."

*From a distance, a soft and young voice can be heard*

"Boo! Hm, hm..."

Omega E The Reader: That ends the EOSD arc and it was terrible. Remilia should not be stupid and would instead have her entire crew fight LT's crew all at once.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: And also, she'd use the Scarlet Mist to have the home field advantage and not worry about the sun! I'd say that shitty conclusion deserves a lot of sins.

Omega E The Reader: This would've be able to make things very hard to take down Remilia after all as without the sun she would have free rein to be able to not hold back against her opponents.

Lunatic-Over'9000'Lord: A proper fight, unlike this bullshit.

Lt Colonel Summers: I'd let WildMath and Xovercreator decide how many sins this scene is worth...

WildMath55: Eh, I guess we'll keep the current sin count, since this is more like an arc review than tearing every single scenes apart. Besides, the consecutive Meta Breaks in the arc's last three chapters are more than make it up. And Xover will join in the next chapter.
