Chapter 9

Greetings readers! I hope that all of you enjoyed the previous chapter!

I would like to thank OutcastDragon for your support! I am glad that you enjoyed my stories!

I would like to thank Sharky for your continued support! I am thrilled that you like the detailed approach that I utilize to write my stories!

Responding to the guest reviewer, yes, I called this arc the Clash of Heroes and Emperors because it sounded dramatic and gave a vague idea about the clash between Triumvirate Holdings and the Divine Secret Service that will take place in this arc. Thank you for your support!

In response to Bo's review, again, I do not write footnotes and headnotes to beef up the word count but rather it is to interact with reviewers. But like you said, the content part is very long so this is justified. Nonetheless, thank you for your continued support!

In response to Shadowhunter2077's review, don't worry, you'll be getting plenty of action between gods and Titans very, very soon :) This arc will primarily involve the Divine Secret Service and will be full of espionage tropes but it will also have a lot of action. In fact, it will have much more action than the first arc of this story.

Yes, I realised that only the Elder Olympians fought the Titans during the First Titan War. Sure while Zeus did defeat Atlas, at least in this story, he did it the first time only after getting the Master Bolt and the second time when Atlas had just recovered and was not yet at full power. So if Zeus fought Atlas who was at his full power in this age, he would not have it so easy. Because in this story, Atlas is just as strong as one of the Big Three and like you inferred, even Kronos is only stronger than him due to other powers. Thank you for your continued support!

I would like to thank Harp for your continued support! I am glad you liked the emotional depth in my stories!

In response to J's review, when I said that I want to write an espionage arc, I wanted to dive deep into not only the techno pop but also into the psychology of spies. I feel like that would give a very interesting type of character development to the demigods and would also provide a good insight into Percy's mind. Thank you for your continued support!

Responding to Ben's review, I am absolutely thrilled that you loved my choice of cars. I initially wanted Percy to have the DB11 but the Ferrari Roma is probably the most beautiful car I have ever laid my eyes on and I wanted to include it into this story at any cost. Besides, I cannot really have a James Bond-esque espionage arc without having a car that fires rockets :) Thank you for your continued support!

I would like to thank the emoticon using guest reviewer for your continued support!

In response to John's review, well, I think the title of this chapter is a bit of giveaway :) but I guess you have been reading my stories long enough to know what I am going to be writing next. Thank you for your continued support!

I would like to thank Nice for your continued support!

I would like to thank Disco for your continued support! Trust me, things are going to get very spicy :) Thank you for your continued support!

In response to bring the money's review, well, regardless of whether they succeed in their mission or not, they will get some sort of a pep talk from Percy because it's going to be their first mission. Plus, it would be a good opportunity for character development. Thank you for your continued support!

In response to IceFire99's review, I am stoked that you enjoyed the different backstory that I gave Nico. I realised that it wouldn't be possible to give Nico the same backstory because Zeus isn't a murderer in this alternate universe and Nico couldn't be so young in comparison to the other demigods. But I'm glad it worked! Thank you for your continued support!

In response to Walter Ha's review, ah, I am just getting started with the plot twists :) Yes, I am pretty excited with how the plot line that I have envisioned for the crossover and the way I want to write Percy. But I haven't worked on the flash notes of that story for quite a bit of time because I am using all my effort and time for this story. I could use the names of some minor gods for demititans but that wouldn't exactly feel original. And I did get a lot of good names for demititans so I will be going with those names. Thank you for your continued support!

Responding to the guest reviewer (the one who reviews without fail :) ), yes, Khione will be making an entrance later on. The Atlas arc will be crazy but I just want to talk him up a bit and highlight that he is the most difficult challenge Percy will face, at least, one on one, before I start the arc. I will be expanding more about New Greece in the next few chapters, I just didn't find any way to include it until now without just dragging the chapter.

I wanted to show that Percy isn't some cold and distant authority figure who doesn't care about his agents' state of mind or personal opinion. I want him to keep that cool but protective big brother vibe. And I also wanted to take a deeper dive into the strength of character and sheer willpower it takes to make the decision of killing an actual person rather than just brushing aside the mental stress with such a strenuous job. Thank you for your continued support and I am only happy to respond to your reviews!

In response to Hunter's review, the current strike teams sort of do indicate future romantic pairings which would be Leo with Annabeth and Jason with Reyna. I am not yet sure about Nico and Thalia. Do you think that those two would make a good romantic pairing? Also, thanks for your great input. A lot of this chapter is written from the perspective of the demigods. And it is actually a brilliant idea that I will use again throughout this story! Thank you for your amazing input and continued support!

Responding to Guest nemo's review, don't worry, that's not the last you'll see of Percy's swords :) And I also haven't forgotten about Calypso. She will definitely get her time to shine again. I purposely didn't write a one-shot that involved her reaction to Percy's 'death' because I had different plans for her. It had something to do with her being a daughter of Atlas :) Thank you for your continued support!

In response to Darkgamer08's review, yes, I know that Romans are trained to kill traitors and I will touch upon that again. I haven't painted all the demigods under the same brush yet. But even though Jason and Reyna are Romans, they are being heavily influenced by Percy's ideals which ironically, aren't as cold and ruthless as the Romans'. So that will definitely have a very big impact on their system of values. Thank you for your continued support!

I would like to thank HellRaiderS for your continued support! I am sorry for the late update but I wasn't happy with the first draft of the chapter so I decided to rewrite it and I lost two days in that process.

In response to Ryan Fowler's review, once again, sorry for your loss. Well, the Hunter's of Artemis, especially Zoe, will get their own time to interact with Percy. Maybe to a small extent in this arc but they'll be important characters in the Atlas Arc. However, whether or not Zoe stays alive is a different thing. My record of killing characters for the sake of developing other characters does not exactly help her chances but I would say it's fifty-fifty as of now. However, I would be interested in knowing what you think I should do with her in terms of interaction with Atlas and stuff like that. Thank you for your continued support!

I would like to thank Arden2709 for your continued support! I am stoked to know that you liked the previous chapter!

In response to Jubby1905's review, yes, Percy will eventually be as strong as the Big Three. You have a very interesting theory there which I can neither confirm nor deny. But until then, this chapter has some action to make up for the ruse of introducing Atlas early but not using him immediately. Thank you for your continued support!

Responding to RReaperOfSouls' review, I am very happy to know that you are enjoying this trilogy! Don't worry, I am not going to do anything that will make any of the demigod characters more important than Percy. They'll have their moments to shine but this trilogy is called the Tale of Perseus for a reason. So I assure you that Percy will be the central character of this story, along with Athena of course. Thank you for your continued support!

In response to kemb92's review, I agree, Percy's decision to use weapons that are not as good as his swords is a very stupid decision. But it's these kinds of flaws and mistakes that show that Percy isn't a Gary Sue. Making wrong decisions and learning from them is what develops characters. It also humanizes them and makes them more relatable to readers. Anyway, thank you for your feedback!

All credit for the characters goes exclusively to Rick Riordan.

Thalia was very nervous. Along with Nico and Percy, she had come to the building in Indianapolis where the meeting between one of the arms dealers of the Titans and a daughter of Mnemosyne was talking place and she was going over all instructions while she was waiting in the Ferrari for the other two strike teams to get into position.

That had given her ample time to wonder about what she would do when she faced the swarm of enemies in the building. She had no doubt about what she needed to when it came to dealing with monsters. All she had to do was to give them a one way ticket to Tartarus. Creatures as heartless and barbaric as monsters did not deserve to live. And besides, they didn't even have a soul so she wouldn't really be killing them.

Dealing with malevolent nature spirits was also rather simple. She would just run her spear through them and turn them into something more useful and less harmful like a daffodil. But the waters became very muddy when it came to dealing with any sentient being with a soul that could be reaped.

Mortals, demigods, demititans, legacies could all be killed, forever. On one hand, she could not just spare everybody and run the humongous risk of them hurting her and those close to her. But on the other hand, she could not slaughter every enemy without a single thought. That would make her no different than the enemies she was fighting against.

"You are nervous." Percy stated as he made eye contact with Thalia through the rear view mirror. He was talking verbally with Thalia and Nico but everyone else heard his words through their mental link.

"I'm sorry. I know that this isn't the time to be distracted." Thalia mumbled an apology.

"Don't be. Because this is exactly the time to think. Along with the ability to act, the process of thinking is one of the two fundamental pillars of life. And one cannot be effective without the other. A person who only acts but doesn't think is nothing more than a pawn and a person who doesn't act but only thinks is just a hypocritical philosopher. You need one to reinforce the other. Thalia, I am very happy and very proud that you are questioning what is right and what is wrong. Especially before such a crucial mission that will no doubt thoroughly test your moral compass." Percy gently stated.

"Kids, I don't want any one of you to become mindless soldiers. I want all of you to cultivate a school of independent thought. Morality is a very complex thing. Some actions such as kindness or malice clearly fall into the light or dark side of morality. But most actions are highly subjective and in such cases, right or wrong changes based on perspective. Sometimes you will find yourselves stuck in between a rock and a hard place. You will find that the consequences of both actions are almost equally good or equally bad. And unfortunately, you will have to make a choice in a very short period of time. Your brain always makes decisions in the garb of cold logic but it fails you when it cannot definitively decide what the best option is. My suggestion to you is that you should follow your heart in such scenarios because at the end of day, you will know that you have made the right decision, at least from your perspective. And regardless of what anyone else says about you, that ultimately is what allows you to keep your sanity." Percy stated with a wise yet sombre smile. Once he was finished, Athena decided to share some intel with them.

"The RADAR shows that there is only one immortal in the building along with two demigods or demititans. I am assuming that this immortal is the arms dealer while one of the demititans is the daughter of Mnemosyne. It also shows that there are about twenty monsters and twenty wind spirits in the building along with twenty mortals who are most probably mercenaries. There are also two legacies in the building whom you should watch out for. The immortal and the daughter of Mnemosyne are in the top floor while there are two cyclopean guards in the front as well as in the back of the building. There is also a very strong metaphysical barrier in the building that prevents anyone, mortal or immortal, from entering or leaving the building in any way other than a physical one." Athena informed all of them through their mental link.

"Listen up, this is what we are going to be doing. Jason, Leo, Reyna and Annabeth, I want the four of you to snipe the two cyclopean guards at the front and back entrances. Once the guards are mounds of dust, I want the four of you to take the back entrance which only has a glass door and shoot all the six Laistrygonian giants in the basement. The three of us will then come through the front. After that, Reyna and Annabeth, I want both of you to find the place where they store their weapons. Nico and Thalia, guard the entrances to ensure that no one leaves the building. And remotely control the ballistae on our warships to blow up any reinforcements if they show up. Jason and Leo, you are in charge of clearing the building of all threats except the immortal, the daughter of Mnemosyne and the other demigod or demititan. I will take care of those three. All of you know what to do with monsters and nature spirits but I trust you to make the right decisions when it comes to beings with a soul." Percy conveyed his orders to all the demigods.

As soon as they received the order, Reyna, Jason, Leo and Annabeth climbed on top of their cars and took sniping positions on opposites sides of the building with their Celestial Bronze sniping rifles in their hands and fired simultaneously. They heard four light taps emanate from the rifles upon firing and a few moments later, the four cyclopes dissolved into mounds of dust.

Once the guards were out of the way, the four of them quickly but stealthily made their way towards the back door and once they reached the back entrance, they pushed the glass door and barged into the room and immediately shot four of the six Laistrygonians in the room. And before the other two could run away or attack them, they were shot in the head by Reyna and Annabeth.

Once the room was clear, Percy, Nico and Thalia calmly walked through the front door and once all of them were near the stairs, Percy addressed them.

"You know what you have to do. Let us show the Titans and these arms dealers what the Divine Secret Service is capable of." Percy stated with a stiff nod and all of them went separate ways. They had a mission to complete.

After half an hour of covertly searching and eliminating any resistance, Annabeth was anxious and jittery when she and Reyna finally made it to the floor where the arms dealer had stored his weapons. And the sight in front of her was not at all reassuring.

By the time she had reached this floor, she had already put a bullet in the heads of two mortal mercenaries and about half a dozen monsters and she had sent the two mortals on a one way trip to the Underworld but what shocked her was the cold and ruthless way in which she had acted.

She had not even thought twice before embedding a bullet in their heads and while Reyna didn't even seem fazed, Annabeth was deeply unsettled. But there was a much, much bigger problem right in front of her.

Annabeth had been given enough intel by her mother and Percy to know that the Titans had a very large stockpile of advanced ammunitions that were supposedly only one generation behind their own arsenal but the weapons in front of her seemed to disprove that theory.

While these missiles were rather crude and primitive in comparison to their missiles, the sheer number of missiles in front of her seemed to give the idea that the Titans could make up for quality with quantity.

On the other hand, the ballistae in front of her were just as sophisticated as the ones in their warship. The only difference was that these ballistae were much more in number and were in a much more versatile number of configurations.

There were single, twin and quadruple turret ballistae of different sizes ranging from the size of hand rifles to those on naval destroyers. And all of them seemed to be capable of being mounted on a mobile vehicle.

"Mother, if they have so many weapons in just one building, I don't think I even want to know how many such buildings are there across the country." Annabeth grimly stated through her mental link.

"I know, daughter. It seems like we underestimated the sheer scale of these arms dealers' operation. Use your smartphones to scan one member of each of these families of weapons. The scans will give us a three dimensional blueprint of these weapons which should help us understand how much firepower these weapons are packing and the degree of damage that they can cause." Athena ordered. This was a very worrying development.

"Do we just leave the weapons here after that?" Reyna asked with a small frown. She felt like it would be a foolish move to not destroy this arsenal when they had a chance.

"No. Once Percy captures the arms dealer and the daughter of Mnemosyne, I will use the ballistae in the warships to reduce this building to rubble and destroy these weapons." Athena answered in a crisp tone.

"I guess there will be no survivors after all." Annabeth stated with a sigh.

"Daughter, duty has no sweethearts. We cannot afford to let this arsenal stay intact. Even if that means that all those in the building that have souls will become collateral damage. I know that this seems like a cold and ruthless thing to do but unfortunately, there is no other choice." Athena sympathetically stated.

"I know mother. We have to do this for the greater good." Annabeth agreed as she and Reyna shared a stiff nod as they settled on their next course of action.

Jason was in the middle of an adrenaline rush. He had picked off targets left, right and centre in the past half an hour and the fact that he had managed to take down at least fifteen targets entirely on his own had only added fuel to his pride.

The semi automatic handgun which made just a click whenever he fired a bullet had made his job so much easier. Even though it lacked the power of a bow, at near point blank range, it was more than enough to take out any enemy that could be killed.

Combined with the fact that his adaptive armour always provided him with perfect camouflage which in turn allowed to get close enough to his targets and take them out with a single bullet and that it also provided him with a very large supply of bullets made of the special Celestial Bronze and Steel alloy, which made it capable of harming anything that walked, he had devastated the enemy ranks.

Oddly enough, he had not felt any remorse when he had taken the lives of those mortal mercenaries. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he was a Roman and their strict and warlike approach to life made it easier to make hard decisions. Maybe it also had something to do with the fact that he felt like they deserved it. However, it seemed like his cousin brother did not share this sentiment.

Leo had refused to kill any mortal and while he had taken down nearly a dozen monsters and nature spirits, he had chosen to knock out the three mortals who had confronted him.

"I hope you know what you are doing. It could be really dangerous to let those mortal mercenaries live. I hope you remember that we were hired to win this war for the gods. We were not hired to be cowards." Jason reminded as they carefully waded through another floor.

"Yes but we were also not hired by them to be butchers. There is something called the subjectivity of morality which Percy told us about. Those men you killed were only professionals doing a job. They probably had a family to look after." Leo retorted with a glare.

"In case you forgot, we are also professionals doing a job. It's nothing personal. Did they have a family? I don't know and frankly, I don't care. Because I know that I have a family that I want to protect and I will do whatever it takes to protect them." Jason shot back with a heated stare.

"We are not automatons, Jason. Percy chose us because he had faith in us. Faith that we would make the right choice. And he was right. When I looked them in the eye, I realised that these men had no idea who they were working for. They had just been hired to act as cannon fodder for these arms dealers. You did not even care to look them in the eye. You just shot them without even thinking twice. If you act like that, what makes you any better than them?" Leo chastised and that statement hit Jason hard.

Before Jason could reflect on his choices, they came across a small number of about a dozen monsters led by two twin legacies of Apollo.

"I'll take the legacies. You deal with the monsters." Leo stated as he sneaked towards the legacies of Apollo.

"Afraid that I'll kill them?" Jason asked as he followed Leo.

Instead of answering Jason's question, once Leo got close enough, he jumped from behind a pillar and shot six dracaenae archers in quick succession, resulting in four of them turning into golden dust and the two others being gravely injured.

As soon as they saw him, the legacies of Apollo charged at Leo with their spears but Leo twisted his rings and blocked their spears with Riptide and his shield. A hellhound jumped at Leo while he was occupied with the legacies but it turned into golden dust when Jason decapitated it with his Imperial Gold sword - Gladius .

He then took on all the remaining monsters and started by impaling a Cyclops. He raised his shield a moment later to block the club of a Laistrygonian who seemed surprised that a teenage demigod could stop him in his tracks so easily. But the giant did not have a lot of time to wonder as he was stabbed through the neck by Jason a moment later.

Elsewhere, Leo was fighting against the two legacies in front of him. He parried a spear thrust from one of them with a slash of his own which was fast enough to break through his opponent's guard and leave a long gash, prompting the legacy to hiss in pain.

His brother attempted to strike Leo's neck with his shield but Leo ducked and slammed his shield into the legacy, sending him skidding backwards. Leo then struck the leg of the other legacy with the hilt of his sword, causing the legacy to fall to his knees before being kicked into a pillar by Leo.

Leo then saw the first legacy trying to sneak up on Jason and he threw his shield at the legacy of Apollo, aiming for his neck. Unfortunately, Leo had underestimated the power behind the throw and true to its mark, the edge of the shield struck the legacy's neck and snapped it with a sickening crunch.

That was when it hit Leo that he had killed a man. A man who could have had a family. And that thought made him freeze. In this distracted state of mind, he did not notice the remaining legacy charging at him and would have been skewered if it weren't for Jason throwing a hellhound at the legacy of Apollo and stopping him in his tracks.

This was enough to snap Leo out of his dazed state and the son of Poseidon decapitated the hellhound before pinning the remaining legacy of Apollo to the ground. There he stared into his enemy's eyes and he a saw a myriad of emotions in them – anger, fear and finally, desperation. And that was when Leo made his decision.

"Today, I have robbed my cousin of one legacy. I will not take the life of another. Run away and hide somewhere far away from the gods and Titans for the rest of your life. If I ever see you again, you will meet the same fate as your brother." Leo warned the defeated legacy before knocking him out with the hilt of his sword.

He saw that Jason had taken care of the remaining monsters and the two of them shared a look of understanding before moving on.

After stealthily tearing his way through whatever opposed him, Percy finally made it to the highest floor of the building and when he stood outside the room where he sensed the meeting taking place, he realised that there had been a gap in their intelligence.

"Athena, now that I can accurately read the energy signatures in the room, it is evident that it's not the daughter of Mnemosyne who is here to negotiate the arms deal but Mnemosyne herself. And along with the immortal arms dealer, I sense a daughter of Hecate in the room. She is the one who is dampening Mnemosyne's energy signature." Percy informed as he stood outside the door.

"This is not good. We had not made a plan that would involve you going up against two immortals, especially not when one of them was a Titan. Percy, a clash between the three of you could level the entire building and endanger the demigods." Athena worriedly replied.

"I know. Kids, get out of the building right now. Because it will be reduced to rubble shortly. I want you to take the warships and get as far away from the building as possible. Athena will explain everything to you once you are safe." Percy strictly ordered.

He then replaced his big handgun with his sword and shield before smashing the door and entering the room. He instantly sent a wall of force at the daughter of Hecate, slamming her through the window and sending her plummeting to the ground.

It would be a painful experience for the traitor but Percy knew that it would not kill her. The demigoddess' punishment would be decided by Hecate. He then registered some surprise when he saw who this immortal arms dealer was.

"Commodus? Aren't you supposed to be dead? I thought Apollo killed you two millennia ago." Percy questioned with a twinge of confusion. Commodus' face darkened at the mention of Apollo's name but a malicious smirk took its place a moment later.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the great Salvator Orbis. It looks like Mnemosyne was saying the truth after all. You really are back and it looks you are here to interrupt this meeting. As for how I am still alive, let's just say that deification does wonders." Commodus proudly proclaimed.

Commodus was a tall, extremely muscular man. He had curly brown hair with a beard, perfect teeth and brilliant blue eyes. In fact, with the ridiculous lion skin cape that he was wearing, he looked like an airbrushed caricature of another man Percy hated – Hercules.

"Why would anyone in their right mind deify you? I could see people deifying Trajan or your father – Marcus Aurelius but I don't see why anyone would deify a frivolous, narcissistic swine like you." Percy stated with a frown, prompting Mnemosyne to chuckle and Commodus to glare murderously at him.

"Worship does not need to only stem from positive emotions, Diaboles. You are remembered for your morals and virtues while this nasty piece of work next to me is remembered for his horrendous actions. He was so horrible that no one can forget him. That's what gives him partial divinity." Mnemosyne calmly explained with a neutral expression.

Mnemosyne was a beautiful woman in her early thirties with chestnut coloured hair that had been tied into a neat bun. With her attire of a black blazer, maroon blouse and black pencil skirt, she could have easily passed for a young, hotshot executive if it wasn't for the ethereal glow in her rich honey coloured eyes.

"Watch your tongue, Titaness. Another insult and I will withhold the next shipment." Commodus threatened.

"Oh really?" Mnemosyne challenged.

"Ladies, you can have your catfight later." Percy stated with a condescending smirk prompting both of them to glare at him.

"Mnemosyne, I believe that I have a proposal for you. One that is very magnanimous in my opinion. Now that the gods are ready for a divine war, this hairless baboon is going to pay for his actions and the Titans will anyway lose. All your best fighters are not at their full power yet. Your brother, the Titan King, is still a thousand chunks in a golden sarcophagus. You, your sisters and your armies are not enough to stop the might of the entire Divine Council. Why stay on a sinking ship? Instead, swear that you will never go against the gods ever again and I will let you walk scot-free, acquitting you of all your crimes against Olympus." Percy offered.

"Too afraid to fight, Diaboles?" Mnemosyne taunted.

"No. You see, your daughters – The Muses, are very good friends of mine and for their sake, I am willing to give you an easy way out because you and I both know that even with this burly oaf aiding you, you can't defeat me. And trust me, you do not want to lose to me. I can be merciful before a conflict. But once it starts, I can be just as ruthless as the General if required. If you decide to go against my family, I have no qualms about destroying your physical form." Percy declared with an intimidating expression on his face as waves of power rolled off him.

"Who do you think you talking to? I'm not some weak river god. Your intimidation tactics will not work on me. I am Mnemosyne, a daughter of Ouranos and Gaia, born from a union of the Sky and Earth. I had already walked this land for eons even before your father was born." Mnemosyne boasted.

"Yes but even though you are so old, you are not strong enough to even fight me evenly, let alone defeat me. You can resist all you want but your defeat is inevitable." Percy declared as he confidently leaned back.

"I always hated you. My father, he always considered you to be the greatest being in the entire world and dedicated his entire life to spread and conserve your lofty morals and nauseating ideals." Commodus darkly stated, interrupting their conversation.

"Marcus Aurelius was a good man. I would have enjoyed meeting him. But unfortunately, the same cannot be said about you. I will never understand how someone as hedonistic and disgusting as you could come from someone as noble and virtuous as Marcus Aurelius. What is even more baffling is why out of all the men he could have had an affair with, Apollo chose to have one with a nasty piece of work like you." Percy insulted.

Having had enough of being mocked, Commodus materialised a club and charged at Percy, aiming for the Hero of Olympus' head and swinging his club with all his power.

Unfortunately for him, Percy blocked the club with his shield without any sign of exertion and a fraction of a second later, he sent Commodus flying through a wall with a brutal right hook. He then turned his attention Mnemosyne.

"That buffoon is practically of no use to you." Percy flatly stated.

"He may be too weak to harm you. But he can at least be used as a meat shield." Mnemosyne coldly replied.

"I'll show you what this meat shield can do." Commodus roared.

He then used all his power to fire a beam of energy at Percy who stopped it with a wall of force which not only stopped the beam of energy but also continued on its intended path and slammed into Commodus.

"You are going to have to do way better than that if you even want to touch me." Percy mocked.

"I believe that's where I come in." Mnemosyne announced as her clothes were replaced by her armour and her sword and shield materialised in her hands as she charged at Percy.

Mnemosyne brought her sword down in an overhead strike aiming for Percy's head but to her surprise, Percy blocked her strike with his shield without even budging an inch. And the shield gained a light purple hue as it absorbed the energy from the impact.

Mnemosyne blocked the spear thrust from Percy that was aimed at her head with her shield. Percy then tried to slam the edge of shield on her neck but she barely managed to block the shield with her sword. However, she found herself forced backwards when his shield clanged against her sword, due to the sudden blunt force released by the shield.

Percy made use of her being momentarily out of balance to strike his ethereally glowing spear and shield against each other, releasing a powerful conical shockwave that slammed Mnemosyne through the other wall and into the next room.

He then sent a beam of energy to blow Commodus of his feet before sending a series of linear shockwaves at Mnemosyne who countered with a series of dark yellow beams of energy.

Percy and Mnemosyne then charged at each other and clashed in the middle. Their clash caused a shockwave that brought the roof of the building down on them and a recovering Commodus, resulting in them being buried under some debris.

Mnemosyne was the first to recover and she slammed Percy through the floor with her shield and sent a slash at his head mid-air. Percy blocked the slash with his shield and returned the favour by punching Mnemosyne with a seismokinetically enhanced fist that sent her straight through the Italian marble floor below them.

Percy then deflected Commodus' club with his spear and slammed the flat of his shield against the former Roman emperor, breaking Commodus' nose with a sickening crunch and splattering Ichor everywhere.

However, Percy had involuntarily powered down a bit and was caught out by a powerful beam of energy fired by Mnemosyne that sent him tumbling through a series of walls before he shoved his spear into the floor and halted his movement.

He managed to block a horizontal slash from Mnemosyne's sword in the nick of time and managed to send her skidding backwards with a strike from the butt of his spear.

"You are not half bad." Mnemosyne stated with an impressed look.

"I cannot say the same about you. Enough warm up. It's time to end this." Percy stated with a predatory smirk as the winds around him suddenly picked up and a moment later, he was surrounded by a miniature hurricane.

The two of them once again clashed in the middle and engaged in a vicious duel of swords, spears and shields. This time, Mnemosyne was joined by a bleeding and furious Commodus who was trying his level best to club Percy to death. And all that could be seen by anyone passing by would be a blur of gold and bronze.

Unfortunately for Mnemosyne and Commodus, they were being constantly buffeted by the mini hurricane whose arms had proven to be particularly dangerous and had even smashed Commodus through walls on multiple occasions.

Mnemosyne was managing to land multiple punishing hits on Percy but was being hit an equal number of times and while she had started slowing down due to injuries, Percy only seemed to be getting faster and faster.

Suddenly, Percy's attacks became inexplicably weaker for one second and Percy hissed in pain as Mnemosyne managed to break through his guard and slash at the base of his neck with enough power t o leave a gaping wound in any other god's shoulder but it only left a nasty purple bruise in Percy's case.

He roared and forced the entirety of his immortal essence through his spear and shield and hit Mnemosyne at point blank range with an powerful radial shockwave that blew her away a dozen feet. She was then once again smashed through the floor by the arm of his mini hurricane and the impact sent huge chunks of debris flying into the air.

The hurricane around Percy disappeared and he crossed the distance between him and Commodus in the blink of an eye to smash Commodus through a series of walls and floors by relentlessly hitting him with right and left hooks, breaking practically every bone in Commodus' body before kicking him into the air and then sending him through three floors with a brutal seismokinetically enhanced kick, putting him out of commission.

Percy then blocked a vertical slash from Mnemosyne and head-butted her with enough force to split the skin on her forehead and embed her into the floor.

Mnemosyne barely rolled her head out of the way when Percy dived down with his feet glowing ethereally, aiming for her head. Even though Mnemosyne managed to dodge that attack, the sheer power behind the stomp collapsed the floor and sent them tumbling down.

Once again, Mnemosyne was the first to recover and she slammed her shield against the side of Percy's head to cause a number of bruises and a micro fracture. But Percy responded by grabbing her hand, flipping her over his head and smashing her into the floor.

Mnemosyne used her shield to halt Percy's attempt to impale her with his spear and she kicked him into the air with her knees before firing a beam of dark yellow energy at him. Percy fired his own beam of sea green energy and the two beams neutralized each other.

Percy followed up his attack with a barrage of radial shockwaves at Mnemosyne that started to destroy huge sections of the building. Mnemosyne surrounded herself in protective sphere of energy but found herself being pushed further and further down by Percy's unending offense.

Finally, after being knocked through the entire length of the building, Mnemosyne found herself in the ground floor and her barrier cracked. This was Percy's chance to end the fight but for the third time that day, he involuntarily powered down and his final radial shockwave turned out to only be powerful enough to destroy the barrier and couldn't harm Mnemosyne.

This gave the Titaness the time she required to gather all her immortal essence in one place and take her divine form, releasing a giant dome of energy. Percy reacted to this by unleashing his strongest attack at her – his pillar of destruction.

Instantly, his spear turned a brilliant glowing white with a small sea green sphere of energy at the tip and the armbands of a miniature hurricane started swirling around his shield.

Then, he took a deep breath and exhaled as he struck his spear against his shield in a way such that he combined all his different attacks into one and launched a monstrously large, swirling bluish-white column of destruction at Mnemosyne.

The column and the dome struggled for a few minutes, pulverizing the very foundations of the building. However, slowly, the column started to break through the dome of energy and was about to hit Mnemosyne when Percy's concentration momentarily wavered and his power derated, resulting in the column of destruction detonating the dome of energy rather than breaking through it.

The resulting explosion collapsed the entire building, causing Percy, Mnemosyne, Commodus and everyone else in the building to be buried under tons of debris. A moment later, Percy pulverized a few rocks above him and came face to face with a heavily injured and profusely bleeding Mnemosyne.

Before Percy could react, Mnemosyne grabbed his head and used her powers to trigger his darkest and worst memories, shocking him into a state of mental trauma and into a series of flashbacks.

Mnemosyne was about to slash at his head with her sword but she screamed in pain when her stomach was impaled with a spear and she turned to find a fully armoured Athena murderously glaring at her.

Athena violently dislodged her spear from Mnemosyne's gut and slammed the Titaness of memory with her shield, sending Mnemosyne flying into a large pillar of concrete and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Athena then charged at Mnemosyne with her spear in front of her, intent on impaling the daughter of Ouranos and Gaia through the head. But her spear was intercepted by another spear. And Athena's eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw who had intercepted her charge.

In front of her, protecting Mnemosyne, was Atlas, the Titan of Strength and Endurance and the General of the Othryian Forces. He was just as intimidating as the Elder Olympians had said he was and his stone cold grey eyes radiated power and fury.

"Get away from her." Atlas growled. His deep, powerful voice seemed to send vibrations through the very ground around them, sending chills down Athena's back as he sent a fist at Athena's face.

Athena managed to block his fist with her shield but the raw and brutish physical strength behind the punch sent her skidding backwards and by the time she came to a halt, Atlas had disappeared along with Mnemosyne in a flash of stone grey light.

By then, through sheer power of will, Percy managed to break the endless cycle of episodes that made him relive his darkest hours. And once he noticed that Mnemosyne was gone, he roared in frustration and slammed his fist on the ground, reducing the tons of concrete around him to dust.

Once he calmed down, he extended his range of observation and walked towards Commodus' current location. After reaching that place, he lifted a few big pieces of debris and found Commodus' unconscious body lying in the ground in a mangled, bloody heap. He then nodded at Athena before disappearing in a blue mist, taking Commodus with him. They had at least managed to capture one of their targets.

Hey guys! I'm sorry for taking a longer amount of time for this chapter but once I wrote half this chapter and read it once, I wasn't at all happy with it so I decided to scrap the entire chapter and rewrote it from scratch, making it more fast paced, filling it with more action and just writing it in a better way. The original version just felt draggy and boring and I wanted a chapter that was paced faster and one that flowed better.

That's why in the first part of the chapter, I tried to pace it like a Bond movie before turning it into an all out fight in the second half. I read a few reviews asking for gods and Titans at each other's throats and I hope that this chapter lived up to your expectations.

I also read a review from Hunter which suggested that I write this chapter from the viewpoint of the demigods and while I have covered most of them, the ones that are left will be covered in the next chapter.

If the previous chapter didn't make it very clear, this arc will be dealing with the conflict between the Divine Secret Service and Triumvirate Holdings so I wanted to tell you that we are just getting started :)

Addressing the elephant in the room, all I can say is that this won't be the last Atlas cameo in this arc :)

Read and review, I hope that all of you enjoyed this chapter! Have a fantastic day!
