She woke up to him cursing from the bathroom but couldn't stop the weight of her eyelids from closing. The sound of the door opening caused them to perk up but ultimately lost that battle again.
"Baby,"
"Hmm?"
"I uh accidentally dropped and broke the soap dispenser thing."
"Stef,"
"I'm sorry, I'll buy a new one after class okay?"
"Okay,"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
He kissed her cheek before walking out. Bonnie turned on her stomach, getting more sleep.
When she officially woke up she decided to do a face mask and meditate. Living with Stefan- or having Stefan live with her was going just as she expected it to go. It's great and he does help but at the same time, she can't help but feel like a mom. She finds herself picking up after him sometimes and having to make the bed the days she goes for a run in the morning and comes back with him gone to school and the bed a mess. His video games thrown by the TV downstairs drives her a little insane. Maybe she should talk to him, because if she keeps on like nothings wrong then he'll keep up the way he's been acting. Besides, it's not his fault, he's used to be being picked up after for so she has to tell him that she ain't his mama.
Bonnie smiled as his arms moved around her as his lips kissed up her neck. "How was class?"
"It was math so it sucked ass but I'm used to it."
"How was your day?"
"Eh, a little boring but I don't mind. Hey, we need to talk,"
"Uh, sure. Everything okay?"
She took his hand and led him to the living room. "I feel bad because we should've had this conversation before you moved in but I like things to be...a certain way." She watched his eyes. "I need you to start cleaning up after yourself. Maybe organize your game cases a little and make the bed whenever you're the last one to get out of it. Uh, do a load of laundry. You do well with the dishes and stuff but you know just the smaller type stuff."
"Okay,"
She smiled and kissed him before going back to the kitchen to fix some lunch. She turned hearing a hard surface being placed on the table.
"I got another soap thingy." She chuckled and thanked him. "I tried to find the same one but I honestly didn't feel like doing a lot of running around."
"I get it, it's fine. It matches so that's all that matters, honestly."
"I'm gonna go take a nap,"
"You're not hungry?"
"I was snacking during class, I'll eat some real food when I get up."
"Okay," she smiled as he kissed her temple.
"Come with me," he ran his fingers down her arm then held her hand softly.
"But I'm hungry,"
"Fine," he kissed her. "Come up when you're finished,"
"Okay,"
She watched him walk away then finished making her sandwich then decided to join Stefan upstairs not minding eating in bed. She paused beside the door hearing him on the phone.
"Nothing much just about to take a nap, actually." "No, I like talking to you, it's fine. Talk to me however long you like, girl." He chuckled. "Ok, I'll see you— you have class on Wednesday?" "We'll get a drink afterward."
She decided to walk in hiding the pain she was feeling from reaching her face and joined him in bed. He ended the phone call and kissed her cheek but she stayed facing forward watch the television.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing," she took a bite out of her sandwich that she no longer had the taste for so she set it to the side.
"You sure?"
"Yeah,"
He watched the side of her face with narrowed. "Baby,"
"I have a dinner Wednesday with Caroline and her husband, I want you to come."
"I have class Wednesday's,"
"It's at eight, you get out at six."
"Uh okay."
"Why do you sound like you don't want to go?"
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to. I just don't understand what I did wrong."
"Who said you did anything wrong, Stefan?"
"I mean it's obvious you're pissed at me." She rolled her eyes. "Did you want me to take a shower before I got in your bed?"
"Don't patronize me."
"Could you just be an adult and tell me what's wrong?"
"You want me to be an adult when you're the one talking to other bitches in my bed in my house?"
"So you're eavesdropping on my conversations now?"
"Yes please turn this conversation around so we can ignore what you did."
"I'm not allowed to have a friend of the opposite sex?"
"Stop fucking talking to me please."
"I'm serious. Is that not ok?"
"It's ok but you don't have to talk to her like your fucking her."
"In what world is what I said spoken like I was fucking her?"
She mocked his voice, "No I like talking to you, talk to me for however long you like, girl."
He sighed. "If you really believe that's me flirting then I will never speak that sentence again."
"Shut the fuck up, Stefan. I came up here to be with you because you asked me to, not to get disrespected."
"I honestly didn't mean to disrespect you. Do you want me to apologize?"
"I don't want you to apologize, you should do it because you actually mean it." She sniffed in.
He frowned. "Baby, I'm sorry, honestly. You're right, I shouldn't have said that, okay, I'm sorry." He sat up some and kissed her cheek repeatedly then grabbed her face to kiss her lips but she pushed him off. "Baby, forgive me, I love you." He kissed her again happy when she started kissing him back.
He grabbed her body, having her lay on top of him, and ran his fingers through her hair kissing her deeply. He sat up and lifted the shirt up her body then flipped her to her back. "You know I love you. No one else,"
She watched his eyes. "I know."
He kissed the side of her neck then her chin before capturing her lips again. "Is there really a dinner with Caroline?"
She smiled. "Why?"
"Because I genuinely don't want to go."
"Why?"
"Because your friends act so weird towards me."
"They do not,"
"Yes, they do. I mean I get that I'm younger but I'm not in elementary school."
"What do you mean?"
"If Caroline wants to talk about something more quote-unquote adult, she always pauses and looks at me then says she'll tell you later like I'm an innocent virgin."
"It's just because you're a guy,"
"So she never talked about anything remotely inappropriate with any of your exes around?" He watched her eyes avoid his. "See?"
"Okay, fine. I'll talk to her."
"Don't make it weird,"
"Shut up, I won't," she hit his arm making him smile.
He kissed her. "I love you."
"I love you too."
…
"I think Stefan's cheating on me."
Caroline blinked being taken aback. "Uh, wow, okay, why do you think that?"
"I overheard him talking to some girl on the phone and when I confronted him about it, he said she was just a friend and then distracted me with kisses. I don't know I just have a bad feeling. He says he only loves me but is he only seeing me, you know?"
"Bonnie, don't get yourself into that trap. You're happy, be happy, unless you're not anymore?"
"Honestly, not as much as I was before. And I don't want to be that crazy girlfriend that tracks his phone and follows him everywhere but I feel like I need to, just once so I can see."
"What do you have in mind?"
"He's having drinks with the girl I heard him talking to tonight. I know it's horrible but I think I just need to be a fly on the wall."
Caroline took a deep breath then exhaled. "If you're going, I'm coming. Just in case something goes on, I don't want you charging after a teenager."
They laughed some. "Even if nothing happens, I don't think that I can be with Stefan anymore. I know in my heart that I would always have that piece of me that thinks he's cheating. It's gotten this far and it's not so much turning back from now anymore."
"Let's see what happens first and then we can debate possible next steps."
Bonnie nodded.
They took Caroline's husband's car since Stefan hasn't seen it and wouldn't for the slightest think it belongs to someone he knows, most importantly Bonnie or Caroline. They followed behind him after he got out of class to a bar. They parked as far from him as possible in the small parking lot then waited a few minutes and adjusted their wigs before heading in. They left a stool between them sitting down at the bar ordering a drink. Caroline hits her arm causing her to turn seeing a young woman walk in. Her chocolate hair flowing back, her breasts bouncing with her stride. A smile appeared on her face and Stefan stood wrapping her in his arms. "You look amazing," he pulled away and kissed her cheek.
"Thanks, I had to do a midterm presentation in class and did not feel like changing." They sat.
"How did it go?"
"Eh. You know how I am about public speaking so it went as well as it could go. I'll take a beer, please," she ordered.
"I still find it sexy that you drink beer,"
"A lot of women do,"
"Well, not so much the ones I know."
Caroline places her hand on her friend's arm seeing the look on her face. She regrets not talking her out of this plan but at the same time, she wanted her to figure it out. She doesn't need to be with someone who disrespects her in any way.
"So you're mom?"
He chuckled. "My mom, yes,"
"Your grandma,"
"I feel like you're making fun of me."
She laughed placing her hand on his arm for a quick second. "Oh, are you still seeing um… Stacey?"
"Bonnie, yeah."
"Bonnie, right. How's that?"
"Uh pretty good. We recently moved in together, well I moved in with her and things have kind of, you know, dimmed. I mean I love her but I don't know maybe moving in was a mistake."
"Have you talked to her about it?"
"No, not yet. I feel like if I bring it up, we'll break up and I'm not sure if that's what I want right now."
"But it might be something you want later?" She watched him. "I'm only asking because sometimes you have to think ahead. You don't want to waste your time, I'm sure she doesn't want to waste hers either."
"You're right, but it's harder than it seems."
"Trust me, I know. I also know that everything happens for a reason. So talk to her and if you two break up then so be it. If it's meant to be, you'll find each other again."
"Yeah,"
"What are you afraid of?"
He exhaled. "Bats, spiders, bears,"
"Seriously."
"I don't know if I want to be a dad. I know that's what she wants but I'm not at that point of my life where I can determine that right now, personally. What if I don't and I end up fucking us up?"
She sighed. "I don't know but it's obvious that you love her so things will work out in the end. You seriously need to talk to her."
"I will tonight. Thanks, girl."
"No problem."
"I like how this isn't weird for us considering."
"Same. I'm glad we decided to stay friends."
"Me too," he kissed her cheek. "So what about you, any troubles?"
"No, thankfully I have my life sorted out."
He laughed. "I hope I can finally reach your level."
"You'll get there one day."
They smiled. "I should go. Bonnie has this dinner thing although I don't know if it's still happening or not,"
Caroline pulled on her friend's arm so they could leave to beat Stefan home. She didn't want to leave until he did but she knew she had to.
"We should do this again,"
"Yeah, definitely. Maybe then something or someone fucks up your life so I won't be the only one with the issues."
"Never gonna happen."
He smiled and they hugged again before walking out. He got behind the wheel then called her and frowned when it went to voicemail. "Hey, babe, it's me. I was just checking to see if this dinner thing is happening but I'll just see you home, Okay. I love you." He ended the call.
Caroline looked over at her friend. "What's going through your mind?"
"I don't know I mean he's meeting up with his ex-girlfriend and talking about our personal issues when I didn't even think we had them. I don't know why he's so afraid to open up to me,"
"You heard him, Bonnie, he doesn't want you two to break up."
"Yeah but still. I guess I'm just taken aback by all of these things he never even hinted to me about. He seemed just fine with having kids when he got older but I guess he's allowed to change his mind."
"Let me know how things go,"
"I will thank you for coming."
"Anytime,"
"And I found it weird how she always spoke in quotes, I don't know how Stefan did it, it got annoying to me after two."
"I thought I was as the only one,"
They laughed then hugged and Bonnie got out of the car and hurried inside to remove her wig and make her actual hair seem decent. She took a shower, then waited until she heard him come up the stairs to start changing with her back towards the door. She felt his eyes on her but kept on she was she turned once her silk shorts and spaghetti strap top was on then gasped slightly making him smile. "I didn't hear you come in."
"It's okay, I uh was just enjoying the show."
She narrowed her eyes at him walking up to him then kissed him then hugged him. "How was uh the drinks, I guess?"
He chuckled. "Pretty good, I only had one. It was mainly like a catch-up."
"Everything ok?"
"Uh, actually I want to talk to you about a couple of things."
"Sure." She moves her arms from around him then grabbed his arm going to the bed.
He took her hands and her heart started racing believing that this was truly the end. "I want to get your take on our relationship."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I feel like things between us have been a little rocky lately, do you agree?"
"I mean not really. We did just take a huge step in our relationship so things did get a little different."
"Bad different?"
"Not to me. You?"
"I don't know,"
"What are you trying to tell me?"
"Nothing, as I said I just wanted to see where your mind was at regarding us."
"I love you,"
"I love you too, babe." He kissed her. He pulled away and sighed looking into her eyes. "No, don't be sad, babe."
"I don't want to force you to do anything you don't want to do."
"I know and you're not. I want to be with you for a very long time."
But not forever, she stopped herself from questioning. He grabbed her head meeting their foreheads then kissed her twice. "You're my everything."
