The friends exchanged looks watching their friends turned couple make out like they were the only two people in the room. His hand was in her hair while the other was tightly wrapped around her waist. She straddled his lap with her hands holding his face. They were somewhat glad that this isn't the first time they've seen the two like this because they could get over it quickly and just pretend the couple wasn't there much like they're acting as if they weren't in the room themselves.
"So you know that job I interviewed for?" Caroline started.
"The one at the foster care facility, right?" Elena made sure.
"Yep. I got the job." She smiled.
"That's great, Care." Matt rubbed her shoulder some.
"I know, it's going to be difficult being around children constantly."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because what if I get 'kid fever' and want to adopt a little sucker. I mean even the bad ones, they're just hurt deep inside, and I mean who wouldn't be?"
"Trust me, Care, you do not want to watch over another human now."
"What makes you so sure?" She folded her arms under her breasts at Matt.
"Because I know you, how 'bout that. There's no doubt that you'd be an excellent mother, but you just have so much you want to do on your plate. I think once everything settles down then you should consider it."
She sighed knowing he was right but still had those thoughts striking in the back of her mind.
"I love you," Stefan told her.
"I love you more." She smiled biting her lower lip before kissing him twice.
He kissed her forehead before hugging her close. Their friends couldn't help but smile seeing the two in an embrace especially with Stefan's eyes closed.
"So how's paradise?" Elena asked once they pulled away.
Bonnie chuckled looking over at her boyfriend. "Pretty good." She smiled.
He smiled back looking into her eyes then kissed her once more. She hugged him from the side and kissed his cheek before meeting hers with his. "Congrats on the job, Care."
"I didn't know you were listening, but thank you."
"I always listen cause I'm a good friend."
Caroline chuckled grabbing her glass. "Speaking of friendship, when are we hitting the club? It's been forever."
"Tonight?" Matt suggested.
"I'm game."
Everyone agreed in their own way and soon they were parting ways from Matt's apartment. Stefan and Bonnie decided to go for a walk before heading to her place to get ready. They held hands walking along the sidewalk.
"Baby?"
"Yeah?"
"I have to tell you a secret."
She stopped walking then turned to him. "Okay,"
"I get...jealous."
"Trust me, I know." She started walking again but he grabbed her arm.
"I'm serious, like really jealous, especially when it comes to you."
"So what's your point?"
"I would appreciate it if tonight you would not dance with other men."
"Excuse me?"
"You have a tendency of doing that, and I'm sure you don't realize it because you're in the moment, but can you please be more aware tonight."
She narrowed her eyes but blinked. "Okay, I'll stick by you."
"Thank you." He held her hips then leaned in to kiss her twice. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay, thank you for telling me."
"I swear I would kick a guy's ass, any guy's ass for you."
"Yeah?" He nodded staying close as she rakes her fingers up the back of his hair. She stood on her toes meeting their lips and she moaned in his mouth as he grabbed her ass, kissing her deeper. Bonnie pulled away after hearing a kid laughing. "We should get behind closed doors."
He chuckled but took her hand again leading the way.
…
Bonnie twirled in his arms with a drink in her hand before pressing her back against his front swaying to the music. He hooked his arm around her neck as they checked out the scene and he sipped her drink when she offered it to him. Stefan kept his hand in a fist watching but looked away reminding himself that it was just Matt. One of his best friends. Even still he was never able to take his hand out of the fist. He turned his head towards them to see that their chest now together with his arm draped over her shoulder as they talked in each other's ears. She laughed before slipping out of his hold to get another drink before meeting eyes with him and joining his side.
She kissed him. "Let's dance,"
"I rather not."
She frowned. "Why?"
"I'm just not in the mood right now."
"Okay," she slightly pouted but moved his arm so she could sit on his lap. She kissed his jaw and was shocked when he moved his head away from her. "Babe, what's wrong?"
"I told you how I get, and you still-" he exhaled. "It's not your fault, I know."
"Stefan, what are you talking about?"
"You and Matt over there."
She narrowed her eyes. "He's my friend, he's our friend. He's dancing with some other chick right now, it means nothing."
"I never said it did, but I told you and now I'm in a bad mood."
"I'm sorry, I didn't think you meant Matt. Why couldn't you just say that?"
"Because I shouldn't even fucking care, that's why."
"Baby," she sat her drink down then held his face in her hands. "You're mine. I want to only ride your dick until the grave."
"You promise?"
"I promise." She kissed him slowly. "Say I'm yours."
"You're mine, you're all fucking mine." He kissed her neck then met their lips quickly. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"You look beautiful."
She smiled. "Thank you."
He met his lips with her ear, "I swear you're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. If I foolishly ever tell you otherwise, I'm lying my ass off."
She chuckled then turned her head to kiss his cheek. "You're so sweet, babe." She spoke in his ear as well then pulled away placing her hands on his jawline smiling. "I hope our kids get your jaw."
He smiled. "Salvatore's have strong genes."
"Great then that way if one day I turn up pregnant you won't be able to deny that the child is yours because they'll be the spitting image of you."
"I will never deny our baby,"
"That's what they all say." She laughed some when he rolled his eyes. "If it makes you feel better, I'm only halfway kidding."
"Let's dance before you really start to piss me off."
She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck walking backward as she kissed him until they reached the dance floor.
…
She woke up in his arms with her hand resting in his hand. She smiled she grabbed it and pulled his fingers closer to her mouth and inhaled some before puckering her lips.
"You're weird," he muttered half asleep.
"I like your hands."
"Why?"
"Because they're tough yet gentle."
He smiled some then nodded off again. When he woke up she was stepping out of the bathroom with a towel around her. He stretched sitting up then opened his arms to her. She smiled and walked between them and he squeezed her tightly. "You smell good."
She chuckled. "I hope so."
"I love you."
"I love you more."
He squeezed her tighter before he moved away to kiss her twice. Bonnie moved away to get dressed as he just started getting ready for the day. It was a weekend so as he brushed his teeth, he thought about some things that they could do today. He would love to just hold her all day, but he knew Bonnie loved to move around.
"Jealous boyfriend, I have a question to ask."
He rolled his eyes. "What?" He spat in the sink then rinsed his mouth.
"Which dress do you prefer? I think we're going out to lunch with the squad." She asked moving one dress to cover her body then the other and repeated the motion.
"I was actually hoping that we can spend some time together, just the two of us."
She stopped her movement. "Oh. Okay, doing what?"
"I don't know, what do you want to do?"
"Well, we can eat and discuss,"
"Alright," he turned back to the mirror ready to wash his face. "Oh, and I like the black one better." He ran the water and she thanked him before walking out.
He sat next to her in their booth and smiled watching her soak in some sun as she looked out the window. He wanted to compliment her but his eyes took over.
"Hi, my name is Dina and I'll be your waitress for this afternoon." They turned their attention to her. "Can I start you out with drinks?"
"Uh, a Coke and a Sprite please."
She nodded. "Okay, I'll be back."
He nodded.
"How do you know what I wanted to drink?"
"Did you want something other than a Sprite?"
"...No,"
He chuckled shaking his head. "Oh yeah, babe, I love you." She smiled widely and he laughed some. "You're so cute." He kissed her cheek.
"You make me feel like a teenage girl,"
Before he had the chance to comment, their drinks arrived and they ordered what they wanted to eat.
He frowned some when she sighed. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I was just breathing, really."
He nodded then met his forehead with hers closing his eyes. She smiled slightly and moved her hand to the nape of his neck. "Do you really see yourself having babies with me?" He asked opening his eyes.
"Why did I freak you out?" She looked into his eyes.
"No, nothing like that, I just want to know."
She thought. "I think so, yeah. What about you?"
Bonnie pulled away as his silence lingered. "Wow, okay, never mind,"
"No, babe, it's not like that, okay, I- I love you so much,"
"Stefan, what's going on?"
"I can't exactly talk about it right now,"
"Then why did you bring it up right now?"
"I wasn't thinking." He sighed when she turned away. "Baby, please. The last thing I want is for you to be mad at me right now."
"It's a little too late for that."
"If I tell you right now you'll kill me for telling you in this place. Let's just eat and go home then I'll tell you, I swear."
"It's really that serious?" She turned to him.
"Yes."
"Are you dying?"
"No."
"Ok, I think I can handle anything else."
He smiled weakly then turned to their waitress as she set the food down.
…
He watched her smoothly enter his vision as she laid beside him on the bed. She reached out her hand and touched his cheek and he sighed knowing that this could possibly be the end.
"It's okay,"
He sat up and took her with him. "Baby,"
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry for lying to you and just know that I didn't mean it."
"Okay," she narrowed her eyes as he reached in his back pocket and pulled out what looked to be a photo, and handed it to her. Bonnie looked down then back up at him. "I don't understand,"
"That's me when I was seventeen."
"Is this some type of prank?"
"I was seventeen in 1864. It's dated." He moved her thumb away and watched her eyes inflate before they looked back at him.
"Wait. Wait, wait, are you- are you a ghost or Angel or-"
"Bonnie, I'm a vampire."
She shook her head then moved his hand away as he moved it to touch her. He closed his eyes and felt her get off the bed. He brought his head to his hands before running his fingers through his hair. "Fuck!" He yelled hearing the front door close. He punched through his headboard but stopped himself from messing more things up just in case she comes back and he didn't want her to think he was destructive.
He tightened his eyes closed surpassing the urge and went hunting for a deer instead.
…
Bonnie waited by her door with her arms folded under her breasts. Stefan was knocking and though she wants to answer she's not sure if she's ready yet.
"Please, I just want to talk."
"Who else knows?"
"Can you please open the door so I could look at you?"
"Who else knows, Stefan?"
"Matt. And Jessica." She turned more towards the door. "You asked why I never proposed. I did but she couldn't handle it like she thought she could. I didn't tell you because I would've had to explain and I didn't want to tell you that way." He looked up as she opened the door. "If you don't want to be with me anymore, I get it. But I still need your friendship. You're my best friend, I can't live these decades without you."
"You lied to me."
"I didn't want to lose you."
"It insults me that you would think that I would push you to the side like we've known each other for only a week."
"I—"
"Do you really think that low of me, Stefan?"
"You know I don't." He took a step in but paused. "Can I please come in?" She sighed stepping to the side. "Me not telling you has nothing to do with you, it was all me. I was scared especially after Jessica. I thought that if she didn't understand and couldn't take me then the odds of you accepting me were slim as well. I'm sorry, I'm an idiot." He exhaled staring into her eyes. "Baby," he met their foreheads. "I love you."
She closed her eyes. "I love you too."
He raised his chin and kissed her lips once. She pulled him in kissing him some more, lifting her legs around his waist.
He watched her eyes as she watched his. He moved in closer and met their lips once before smoothing his hand down her hair.
"This is going to take some time getting used to,"
"I know, I don't expect you to be completely OK with this right off the bat. Just tell me what I can do to help,"
She nodded then exhaled and moved in to rest her head over his heart. "I think just hearing your heartbeat is all I need to keep sane." She looked up at him and he smiled before kissing her. "Actually," she sat up straddling his lap. "I would like you to tell me everything about your vampire self."
He swallowed. "Uh, it's not much to tell, really,"
"Oh come on, I'm sure you have some great stories."
He sat up speaking, "Well I did have a threesome with— ow," he chuckled through the pain of her punch. "Babe,"
"You deserved it."
"I'm only kidding,"
"Yeah right." She gasped finding them now downstairs on her couch.
Stefan smiled at her wide eyes and agape mouth with her pounding heart.
"How did you- what-"
"It's my superpower. Well, it's not mine, any vampire can do so, but,"
"Can you take us to Paris like that?"
"Of course but it won't be in two seconds." She rolled her eyes. "And plus I'll get tired, need a nap and rest my feet."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah,"
He kissed her not being able to resist. She kissed him back before standing on her knees as he pulled up the shirt of his that she was wearing. He moaned in her mouth as her hips rocked into him before she started bouncing slowly to keep their lips connected.
"I did not want to see that,"
They pull away then Bonnie quickly gets off his lap as they came faced with Caroline.
"You know there's this great thing called knocking," Stefan rolled his eyes.
"Sorry, but this is important. Bonnie," she nodded her head over before walking back into the kitchen.
She sighed but got off the couch following her friend into her kitchen. "What?" She whispered.
"Don't freak out, but I overheard something…"
"Overheard?"
She looked past her friend's shoulder and once she spotted no sign of the boyfriend, she leaned in to whisper. "Matt has a crush on you."
Bonnie pulled away to shake her head rapidly with wide eyes and Caroline sympathized nodding her head slowly squishing her face.
"I was-"
"We can't talk about this now, Stefan is in the other room and he will quite literally kill him."
"You have to get rid of him, there's so much more to tell."
She sighed but walked back to the living room seeing him watching TV. Stefan smiled when his girl straddled his lap having her face block the screen. "Where were we?" He leaned in.
"Actually," she pulled back, "I hate to do this, but Caroline needs me." He sighed. "I'm sorry but you know she can get about things. She and Tyler are-"
"No offense but if I have to hear another story about those two I'll shoot myself. I'll drop by later."
She smiled that her plan worked. "Okay. I love you."
"I love you more." They kissed twice before she got up from his lap and walked him to the door.
Bonnie waited until his car was unseen then called her friend up to her room. Bonnie got dressed then sat in front of her friend on her bed.
"So, I was minding my own business as I was getting some takeout and I see Matt there with Tyler. I was going to go over there and sat my hellos, then I hear your name being said. So being a great friend, I slipped into the booth in front of them so my back is against Tyler's—hypothetically."
"Wait, how did they not see you?"
"They were wrapped up in the conversation, I guess." She shrugged. "Anyway, I hear Tyler question him and he's like "yeah, I've always liked her, I think she's sexy" and Tyler said "good luck with that, man"."
"That doesn't mean they were talking about me, you could've just heard it out of context."
"I thought that too so that's why I stayed longer and after talking about me, Tyler bought it up again mentioning Stefan this time and Ty teased about how he's gonna snitch."
Bonnie sighed and fell back on her bed. "Great. Stefan is already suspicious about Matt."
"Really, why?"
"Well, when we were in the club, we were socializing a little too closely and Stefan got upset. He says it happens all the time."
"Not gonna lie, I have noticed, but I only see you two as friends so it didn't raise any eyebrows."
"That's exactly how I feel… felt." She sighed. "I need a drink."
"What are you gonna do?"
"I'm just going to ignore it, honestly. Pretend like I don't know shit."
"I think that's what's best. I just wanted to tell you so you'd be more cautious."
"Thank you, Caroline, honestly. It just sucks, that's all."
The blonde nodded offered her a hug before a shoulder to cry on. Bonnie took the hug but put a rain check on the crying.
…
Stefan exhaled then sat up some as his invited guest sat in front of him. "Sorry I'm late, I had to get gas and the line was crazy."
"No, that's fine, man, I just need to talk to you about something."
"Okay,"
"I need you to back off."
Matt narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"
"You and my girl. That club shit that happened yesterday wasn't cool, man. At all."
"Stefan,"
"And I know that you two are close but she's mine now so you both need to start respecting that. I already told Bonnie so now I'm telling you."
He exhaled. "Alright,"
"Good."
"May I ask what's allowed?"
"Don't be a smartass."
"I'm serious. If you consider me having a sip of her drink to be crossing the line—"
"I don't give a fuck about that, what I do give a fuck about is how you were holding her. Your arm around her like she was yours, your hands on her like you get to fuck her. Back the fuck up or else I won't be so nice next time." He flashed his fangs then stood walking out of the door.
Matt sat there and sighed then pulled out his phone.
Bonnie moved her hips to the beat as she watched her fries fry then dropped low to look into the oven to see her chicken breasts chicken nuggets browning. Her phone ringing pausing her music and she sighed, turning down the burner before retrieving her phone. She paused for a moment seeing it was Matt.
"You can do this, Bonnie." She told herself. "Hello?" She answered.
"Hey, Bon, I was thinking that we get a drink tonight. You in?"
"Sure, is everyone else coming?"
"No, I mean just the two of us… you and I."
She hated that she chuckled. "Oh uh I have to see, Stefan is supposed to drop by later but I'll let you know. Where were you thinking?"
"Our usual spot. Nine o'clock. I'll be there anyway so if something changes just drop by."
"Okay,"
"Bye,"
"Bye,"
She ended the call then exhaled to the ceiling as she walked over to her food. Everything looked ready so she moved her fries and nuggets to her plate. Knocking filled her ears and she went to the door to answer it, smiling seeing Stefan. She stood on her toes and kissed him before walking back towards the kitchen.
"I talked to Matt."
Bonnie paused in her stride then continued. "Oh yeah? About what?"
"The club the other day. His actions."
"What did he say?"
"Nothing much, really. I mean I'm sure he thought I was being an asshole but I'm not. You're my girl, how would he feel if I got super close with someone he values?"
"...Yeah,"
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing,"
He held her face so she could look at him. "Tell me,"
"It's nothing, he just...invited me out for drinks tonight." She saw his face stiffen.
"What did you say?"
"I told him that I didn't know because you were coming over."
"But what if I wasn't coming over?"
"Honestly, I would've lied and said you were to give me time to think and ease my guilt of standing him up."
"He has got some fucking nerve I fucking swear."
"Babe,"
"I want you to go."
She narrowed her eyes. "What?"
"I want you to go and I'll go with you but sit away just to hear what he says to you."
"I highly doubt he'll be talking loud enough for you to—"
"I can hear long distances. Perks of being a vampire, it won't be an issue."
"I don't think this is a good idea, what if he says something that sets you off?"
"Then he's dead to me. A true friend of mine wouldn't ask you out for drinks after I just told him to back off."
"I don't think I want to do this."
"Please, babe. I just want to see if he's my friend or not."
"Okay, fine."
His body shivered, hearing the door opening behind him across the room, and turned not surprised at all seeing that it was Bonnie who caused his bones to shake. Her hair down, a long T-shirt stopping a little above her thighs, but her knee-high boots shielding her beautiful legs from him and everyone else. He stands and hugs her then moves his hands to her hips. "You made it. You look-" he looked her over, "very sexy."
She forced a chuckle. "Thank you, I guess. You look average, as per usual." She sat having him laugh some. "What are you drinking?"
"Just a beer."
"Can I have a vodka coke?" She asked the bartender who nodded.
"I talked to Stefan earlier."
"Oh yeah, about what?"
"He's afraid that I'm gonna steal you away from him." Bonnie lifted her eyes to see Stefan's darken. "He thinks we're too close for comfort."
"Oh yeah, you mean at the club. Maybe he was a little right though."
"I mean I get it, looking at things through his POV, sure it may seem suspect but we've always been like that, you know. You're my closet girlfriend and I don't think that should be frowned upon."
"And I completely understand but you know how Stefan is. Maybe we should just kind of… cool off a little."
"Can I tell you a secret?"
"You can but should you,"
"I shouldn't but I want to."
"Then don't. Write it out then lock it away. At least until when you're less drunk and are able to think more clearly."
"I'm not drunk or tipsy at all. This is the only thing I had to drink all day."
"Still. I can tell you're a little angry, your emotions are taking control which is never a good thing."
"Fine. I won't tell you my secret, mostly because you already know, I just hope that you know what to do when things change for you."
"What's gotten into you lately? You don't seem like yourself."
"I'm just tired of trying to be Mr. Perfect all the time, I mean look where it's got me so far."
She frowned slightly. "I get that but you should still show respect and have standards. I'm all for standing up for what you love or believe in as long as it's done right."
"So expressing my feelings is all of a sudden wrong?"
"Let me ask you this, why are you choosing to express your feelings now all of a sudden? Is it because you know Stefan will hate it?"
"It's because I was talking about you earlier and realized that I shouldn't hold back. And sure, Stefan threatening me pushed me a little more, but I'm tired of holding things in so much all the time."
"As I am to you, you're my best friend, please don't ruin that."
He watched her eyes. "I'm in love with you."
"Matt—"
"I don't know when but I am. I kept my feelings in for so long because of Stefan, I hated what you two had, this friends with benefits type thing because in one way or another you were always his to claim, but I'm telling you now so that you know so that you really know how much you mean to me."
"Where does this leave our friendship?"
"I guess that's up to you. If Stefan doesn't kill me then I would love for you to still be in my life. It doesn't have to be like before, but I still want to see you, but I'm not leaving that up to me."
"Okay," she watched his eyes before he stood and walked out. Bonnie let out a breath then walked over to Stefan and straddled his lap. "So?"
"He's dead to me."
"Okay," she hugged him close.
