Simon stood staring down at his brother's grave, thinking about that last conversation they'd had. He started slightly as someone took his hand, relaxing at the familiar pressure as he realised it was Gary. He turned to see the man smile sadly back at him.

"How're you holding up?"

"I'm good." It was the truth too, Simon had finally found closure. "I was just thinking about something Tom said to me."

"Want to share?"

He laughed but answered. "He asked me if I was ever going to stop saving the world and settle down."

Gary smiled. "And what did you say?"

"That I couldn't do better than him and Beth, his wife." Simon sighed and looked down at the headstone again. "Turns out I was wrong."

His hand tightened around Gary's but the other man didn't pull away even though it must have been painful. This was one of the things Simon loved about the other man. That no matter what, he had always been there for him, and always would be.

"Tom would've liked you." He finally said in a restrained voice. "My mother too..."

"Simon..." Gary's arms were around him now, holding him tightly.

It wasn't fair that Gary had never met them. Wasnt fair that they had been taken so soon, all because of him.

But no, that wasn't true.

Simon knew the truth, it wasn't his fault. It was Roba's. He had avenged his family. All he could do now was honour their memories and live on, be happy. It was all they had ever wanted for him.

He looked at Gary and smiled. "I love you."

Gary's eyes widen in surprise, then he smiled so sweetly it almost took his breath away. "I love you too."

Simon crouched down and pulled his old balaclava from his pocket, laying it on the gravestone. He no longer needed it. Ghost had been born from his family's death and now Ghost would stay with them. Simon no longer needed him.

Life was good, here with Gary.
