Calming Down

Izuku looked at the sliver of hair in confusion, his eyes constantly going from it to All Might's still smiling face. And in the background of his mind, Hank was laughing harder than Izuku's ever heard him laugh before.

AHAHAHAHA! OH MAN! THIS IS PRICELESS! YOU GOTTA EAT HIS HAIR!

Izuku closed his eyes, took a deep breath and opened them again. "You're joking right?" He asked cautiously.

All Might suddenly deflated into his small might form and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

"Well… This is the least gross of all the methods of DNA transfer. I'm sorry Young Shonen but it's this or nothing." Toshinori said with a small shrug.

Izuku looked at the hair hesitantly before taking it and placing it in his mouth. He almost puked but forced the hair down. "Ugh." He groaned and took a water bottle offered by Yagi and downed the contents within moments.

My god, you really ate his hair. That's both gross and funny.

Izuku scowled internally before shaking his head. And waited…

"I don't feel anything." He bemoaned, causing Yagi to laugh.

"Worry not my boy, the quirk takes time to activate. About a few hours or so. And for today… I'd say you've earned a rest. We'll speak more once we've had lunch. Come with me Young Shonen, there's a Steakhouse nearby. I'll pay."

Izuku's eyes widened slightly before he smiled. "Thank you sensei." He tried to bow as a sign of respect but Toshinori grabbed Izuku by the shoulder while laughing.

"Nonsense my boy! You've earned a rest after your hard work. That and we have a month to prepare before the Exam proper. Come we'll discuss more on the way there." Toshinori said.

Izuku nodded, putting his sweatshirt back on as Yagi walked towards his car. Izuku followed close behind, pulling out his phone and texting his mom where he was going to be.

'Hey mom, gonna go out to eat with a friend. Is that ok with you?'

Inko: 'It is. Stay safe Izu-Kun! Love you lots!'

'Love you too Mom.'

Izuku smiled softly. Hank grew silent before sighing wistfully.

Izuku quirked an eyebrow but quickly rebounded. Getting into the car as Yagi turned it on and drove out of the parking lot.

Izuku looked through the car window as they passed by buildings and people all going about their day. Couples walking together, people jogging through, kids playing, elderly people sitting on benches enjoying the warmth.

Izuku could see them all in detail. He could hear them talking about their lives. It made him feel dirty to listen in on… well, everything. But his mutations made it hard not to.

He could tune most of it out, but it was a hundred percent thing. But if Hank's stories were anything to go by. He'd rather feel a little bit dirty than have his eardrums rupture every five minutes.

"Young Midoriya." Izuku looked back at Yagi-San. "I wanted to let you know. How proud I am of you."

Izuku blushed at the words, slightly embarrassed. "O-Oh T-Thank you. If it wasn't for you-."

"Nonsense! It was all you that made it possible my boy. All I did was simply push you. And now look at you. At the start of this, you were already lean and athletic, but it wasn't fully developed yet." All Might chuckled to himself. "Now. You have the body of a true fighter."

Izuku raised an eyebrow in slight confusion as to what Toshinori meant. Small Might sighed and took out a camera before handing it to Izuku.

"Turn it on, it has pictures of you throughout your journey," Yagi said as he turned into another lane.

Izuku took it and switched it on, finding the first photo of himself… nine months ago. 'I look… skinny.' He thought to himself. He wasn't a beanpole that's for sure… but he looked smaller than he was now.

When he clicked on it again his eyes widened slightly when he saw the next photo. He had easily grown 13 centimeters. And his muscles were far more pronounced, not on the level of a bodybuilder. But he looked like a professional athlete.

Huh… You sorta look like me when I was a teen… You've got more hair though and less angst… a lot less angst.

Izuku raised an eyebrow at Hank's comment. But didn't say anything.

"The difference is night and day." Yagi said, a smile forming on his face. "You've come a long way. I'd say that you will have no problem controlling One For All. You'll have an easier time than the previous wielders, that's for sure."

Izuku smiled at that, but he felt something nagging at the back of his mind.

"Hey, A-... Yagi-Sensai. Can I ask you something?"

All Might raised an eyebrow. "That's… the first time you've said my name… Are you okay my boy?"

Izuku paused, looking away from his hero. Could he really tell him?

"I… I don't know if I want to be a hero anymore." Izuku admitted, blurting it out without thinking. Yagi sputtered as he began to cough up blood. His car almost swerved into oncoming traffic. Izuku almost panicked but grabbed the wheel and forced it steady as All Might continued to sputter and cough.

Yagi then grabbed a hold of the wheel and pulled out a water bottle before downing the contents within a moment. The hero gasping as he kept the car steady Izuku looked anywhere but Toshinori in guilt.

"Wh-What do you mean? What gave you second thoughts my boy?" Yagi asked the hero in training.

Izuku looked down, his mind racing through everything that happened within the past nine months. Every criminal he's fought, every scar he's collected… Last Night.

He couldn't tell All Might any of that, so much as a drop of the truth could put both of them in danger. So he told a half-truth.

"I just… I don't think I'm ready. What if-"

"NONSENSE!" All Might yelled out. "You are ready, Young Midoriya! You've worked months on end for this." Toshinori chastised the former vigilante before sighing.

"But I do understand your hesitation young shonen. That nerve-racking feeling just before your goal is reached. I felt a similar way when I was your age."

Izuku looked up at All Might in shock, causing the hero to chuckle before his expression darkened immediately. Izuku's heart stopped when he saw the stoic, almost haunted look in the hero's eyes.

"You remember my debut as a hero?" All Might asked before chuckling mirthlessly. "Of course you do, what a silly question… I saved over a hundred people that day, that is what everyone remembers." All Might sighed, looking a decade older.

"What they don't remember is that twice that many people died. I failed over two hundred people, Young Midoriya. It haunts me even to this day. Every failure will haunt you. Even when people sing your praises."

"It's taken me a long time to come to terms with it. But the fact of being a hero is… you can't save everyone. All we can do is try. Because if we don't step up. If we don't save people. If we don't sacrifice mind and body. Then who will?" Yagi said, not lecturing but imparting something from his heart.

"I know it's a hard thing to do, Young Shonen. But as a hero, you have to carry on no matter what. To at least try. If you do that, then you'll go a lot farther than you might think."

Izuku looked at Yagi in a mix of shock and awe. He glanced downward, at his own hands. Suddenly his vision became blurry for a second, static filling his eyes and ears.

He shook his head, regaining his thoughts. His eyes scanned the area for a moment in a mix of confusion and fear.

"Are you alright my boy?" He heard Yagi ask, his voice laced with concern.

Izuku looked away for a moment, schooling himself. "Yeah. Just thinking… Thank you." He could feel Hank's shit-eating grin in his head.

Toshinori nodded, smiling softly. "It's quite alright Young Shonen, we all have periods of doubt. But it's important to always pick yourself up."

All Might turned into a parking lot, a high-class restaurant nearby. "We're almost there, just need to find some parking. We'll continue your training tomorrow, Young Shonen." All Might then gained a deathly serious look on his face.

"Don't try and Use One for All today under any circumstance. Doing so will bring dire consequences. Do you understand?"

Izuku nodded rapidly in understanding. All Might nodded. "Good. Now come on, I'm starved and this place has some great katsudon and wagyu."

Izuku's smile brightened when he heard that, excited to have some good food. He was starved, but there was a nagging feeling at the back of his mind.

He glanced around for a moment. The feeling of someone watching him. The feeling abated as soon as he noticed it.

He shook his head and got out of the car, walking alongside All Might, talking about life. Izuku acted as casually as he could, but he couldn't get rid of the nagging feeling in his gut.

He'll deal with it later.

Five hours later

3:23 PM

Izuku leaned towards his computer, muttering to himself as he searched through the internet. Looking anything up on the committee. He had taken a shower a while ago and was wearing a different pair of black sweatpants and his plus ultra sized All Might hoodie, his red converse on like always.

He wasn't stupid. He had set up a VPN, a false IP address, a TOR Browser, a private window, and some other stuff to keep him anonymous.

He went to dozens of internet forums and conspiracy sites and he had to say. He was really disappointed.

What did you expect ya tard? It's just a bunch of dumbasses spewing the stupidest shit and acting like intellectuals.

Izuku sighed and rubbed his face tiredly. 'I know. I just… I just need some answers.'

Izuku leaned into his chair. 'Tell me again. Why won't you tell me what I need to know?' He asked Hank.

Because I don't feel like it.

Izuku growled. 'Could you at least tell me how my Nexus Powers work? I've been asking for months now!'

Because if I told you how they work you'd piss and moan about how unfair life is. I'll tell you later.

The hero in training sighed while rubbing his temples in frustration. He then exited out of the TOR browser, his time thoroughly wasted.

He paused for a moment. 'They're going to get away with it aren't they?'

Who is?

'The Committee! For what they've done!'

Oh. Well, yeah. They are. Hank replied back casually.

'HOW CAN YOU BE SO CASUAL!? THEY CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THIS HE WAS A-'

Before you go on. Yes, he was a hero. And how many heroes die yearly?

Izuku paused, his heart momentarily stopping. 'I…'

The answer is a lot. And guess what. Big arms are whatever his fucking name was, was caught in the crosshairs of a war going on globally. Thousands of people die all the time but you think one death is going to stop them?

Izuku slammed his fist down onto his desk, leaving a massive hole in the wood. Anger in the young boy's glowing red eyes.

"It's not right." He said softly, a cold edge in his voice. "Someone being brutally murdered isn't right."

Even if said person is a rapist? A child murderer? A terrorist?

Izuku clenched his fists, taking in a deep breath. "We're not animals Hank. We can't just go around tearing people apart while playing judge, jury, and executioner. We can't be like them."

Oh please. What's the big whoop if a few hundred scumbags get killed? People like that getting offed makes the world better. My entire life I've gone from city to city and the stink was everywhere, I could smell it no matter what. And it only lessened when I did something about it.

"T-That's not for us to say. W-We can't make those choices. We can't just go on rampages to sate some delusional bloodlust." Izuku gripped the edge of the desk tightly, leaving small indents.

Oh well, that's what you think. You think I just go off unloading on whoever I please? That I'm some completely insane psycho?

"Y-Yes! From every story you've told me and from everything you've told me that's exactly what I think! You're a nutjob! And a lunatic!"

Fuck you. Do you know what I think? That the people I kill deserve killing, every single one of em. Ain't nobody I've killed that I haven't regretted killing.

"T-That's your problem, Hank. You only see things in black and white! That whoever wrongs you or whoever does desperate things deserves to die regardless of any reason why! We have to keep things grey!" Before he could continue the ghost cut him off.

Every person I killed had it coming, so what if I enjoyed it too huh? I was good at it, I liked it, and it made things better. And what about you huh? You go around acting like the big badass, beating up the bullies. And what happened? THEY GET BACK UP! When I hit them they stay down.

"And you're proud of that?"

I sure fucking am.

"God… Hank that's not okay. You're not trying to help people. You were just looking for excuses to kill!"

Yes. I was. There, ya happy? Is the little sixteen-year-old happy that he's right? Acting like a big adult. Grow the fuck up buddy.

The young man took a shaky breath in, trying desperately to hold in the rage storming inside him. To not go down to the assassin's level.

'You grow up.' Izuku simply replied before standing up and leaving his room. Ignoring Hank as he entered the living room.

His mom was sitting on the couch and watching TV. She noticed him and saw the glum look on his face. She turned off the TV and stood up.

"Izuku-kun. Are you ok?" She asked sheepishly while walking over to him.

He stiffened for a moment before sighing. "I'm… I'm not sure." He said truthfully.

Inko looked at her son sympathetically before taking a deep breath. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Izuku-kun… I… I wanted to tell you that I'm proud of you. So very proud of you. You've worked so hard to achieve your goal and-"

Izuku hugged his mom and hugged her tightly. Inko was surprised but hugged him back just as tight.

"Thank you." He said softly, holding her tight to him. It was then at that moment he realized just how big he was now. Ten months ago he was just barely bigger than her. Now he felt twice her size. He probably was.

They broke the hug and Inko smiled up at her son who smiled back.

"I'm so proud of you. Of the person, you're growing into. And even if I worry about you all the time… I'll support your dream one-hundred percent." She said with complete seriousness.

Izuku's smile grew wider, earlier anger being replaced with joy. If he could cry he would have done so.

"Thank you. It means so much." He said, completely heartfelt at her words.

Inko nodded before an idea struck her. "Hey. Why don't we go to our ice cream place? You deserve it." She used her quirk to grab her coat off the hanger and put it on.

Izuku nodded. "Yeah. That'd be great… A-And hey. Could we… get some apple pie too?" He said before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his teal shades and putting them on. The black shades somewhat masked the intense red glow of his eyes.

Inko looked off in the distance for a moment, seemingly staring at nothing before smiling fondly. "Pie… your father loved pie."

Izuku paused and glanced at his mom before looking down at the floor. "What was… dad like?"

Inko blinked before rubbing her chin in thought, her face seemingly paling slightly.

"Well… he was a very intense and brash person, getting up in your face and mocked almost anything and everyone. He had no filter sometimes… But he was also soft-spoken and gentle. And if you asked me, rather shy." She smiled at the memory.

"The first time I saw him was in some club Mitsuki dragged me and Masaru to. He was off in some corner by himself, his friends trying to get him to join in and dance. His blonde friend saw Masuro and walked over to us. The two knew each other. Some Canadian named… Daryl, I think." She tapped her chin before laughing softly.

She then stopped and looked up at Izuku. "You remind me a lot like him. The shy and soft-spoken part." Izuku blushed slightly as Inko patted him on the shoulder. Where his insect arm started.

Izuku grabbed her arm gently and squeezed it lightly. "Thank you." Inko smiled and squeezed his hand back.

"Come on, let's go Izuku-kun. I'd rather not keep the ice cream waiting." Inko said with a small laugh, Izuku chuckling before following her.

For the first time in a few months. Izuku felt good about himself.

888

The void called to him whispered into his ears a long-dead language he couldn't even begin to fathom, all around him were shadows. Shadows that writhed invisibly, shifted like water constantly.

Each shadow turned to him, staring at him; staring into him. He knew that they were, he knew that they could see him, their blank empty faces stared into his soul, judging it, judging him.

He knew that even without eyes that they could see him. He felt his eyes grow wearier by the second, he was growing tired and for a moment he closed his eyes. 'NO' his eyes shot open and he found that the shadows had gotten closer to him surrounding him at every side. He wanted to close his eyes, he wanted to rest, he felt so… tired.

He fought to stay awake, to keep his eyes open, to keep the shadows away. But he felt so weak and the harder he fought to stay awake the more difficult it became to keep his eyes open. Slowly his eyelids closed, the last thing he saw was the shadows reaching out to him, and then there was none.

His eyes opened again and he found himself in a gray room, it sorta looked like some kind of office, but what drew his attention were the two motionless bodies on the ground on either side of him, and in his hand were two pistols both had smoke wafting from the barrels.

'Had he killed these people?' he looked in front of him and almost jumped at the shadowy figure standing behind some kind of desk.

The shadow looked terrified of… something… terrified of me. The shadows wore some kind of cowboy hat and it had its hands raised to the air like it was surrendering.

'What was going on? What had he done? Why was he pointing his guns at the shadow? Why did he have guns in the first place?' a million questions racing through his mind at the speed of light.

*BANG*

His eyes went wide as he felt something pierce the back of his head pushing its way through his brain in an instant. The sensation lasted only a second as the bullet went out of the front side of his head.

He looked at the hole the bullet made in the wall for a moment and he fell into darkness consuming his vision once more, and then there was none.

"Izuku-kun"

At the sound of his name being called, he opened his eyes and he saw her. He saw his mom, her arms wide open, a gentle smile settled on her face, he ran to her and hugged her, holding onto her tight as if afraid that she would suddenly disappear. Inko, in turn, wrapped her arms around her precious baby boy. The two stayed that way for a while content with hugging one another. Izuku looked up at his mother and found that tears were welling up in her emerald-colored eyes, "Are you okay Kaa-San?"

Inko forced a smile onto her face and wiped the tears away from her face and turned back to Izuku and she looked… sad, "I'm fine Izuku-kun. I'm just-"

She stopped mid-sentence, her face stuck in a saddened expression.

"K-Kaa-San?"

He reached for her but found that she was now farther away from him, he got up and ran towards his mom but with every step he took, she got farther and farther away.

"W-WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME!"

He ran as fast as he could, as fast as his legs could take him desperate to reach the person he loved most. But at this point, he could barely see her and his body became tired as he tried to reach out to her, his hand grasping at nothing in front of him.

"PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! Please!"

He ran until he could run no more, his body ached all over as he stopped to catch his breath. He wanted to start running again but he knew it was pointless. For he was now in the company of the void. He closed his eyes and let the nothingness swallow him whole, and then there was none.

Once again he opened his eyes, he found himself on a roof, at first he was confused as to why he was here but he soon recognized it as the same roof where All Might had told Izuku of one of the man's many secrets. It was here that All Might had crushed his dream, and he had contemplated killing himself not soon after.

"Remember"

He froze up, he knew the thing that spoke was close. Slowly he turned his head to the source of the sound and saw another shadow standing on another building across the street staring at him. Its shapeless face boring into his soul.

"Just do what comes natural."

As the shade finished speaking, the building it was standing on exploded into a ball of black light that burned brighter than the sun. He let out a breathless scream as his skin burned off him, vaporizing into dust, his muscles charred turning stiff as his nerves and blood vessels boiled inside him.

His organs melted, leaking out of any crack and spilling onto the floor around him. And despite this, he was still alive, he could feel it all happening to him and all he could do was watch as the ball expanded soon engulfing all atomizing all.

His death finally came as the ball reached him, destroying everything that was left of him. The worst part of it was he could feel every part of him become undone and pain-racked his destroyed body. It lasted only a second yet felt like an eternity but his death came and there wasn't a single thing he could do to stop it.

And then there was none.

12:15 AM

Izuku shot out of his bed, covered in sweat as he breathed in rapidly. His left hand clutched his chest as he scanned his bedroom.

He breathed in and out slowly as he calmed himself. He sighed while rubbing his face.

He then felt something poke him in the side of his face. He tensed up and immediately looked over, only for his terror to be replaced by complete and utter confusion.

His insect arm… well his hand more accurately was right next to his face. Its mouth was wide open.

"Heya Duke." An all too familiar voice rang out from the mouth hand

Izuku looked at the hand wide-eyed. "H-Hank?"

"The one and only." The hand said cheerfully before gesturing to itself. "What do you think huh? Learned I could do this while dicking around."

Izuku sighed and stood up and flexed his hand and moved it around wildly. 'I still have control of it.'

"Hey, could you stop that? Feels weird." Izuku stopped as his hand took in a breath of relief before sprouting two tentacles with eyes on them. Izuku looked at the tendrils in disgust.

The hand eyes looked around as the hand itself nodded. "Ya know. With real eyes, I can appreciate the room change. Lot less Mister America stuff. Real barren though. We gotta get you some new posters or something."

Izuku cringed. Even if he had the spare yen stored in his desk he always seemed to forget that he did sell a good chunk of his collectibles. His mind was occupied by other stuff at the time.

But looking at his room in depth he noticed that there was… a lot of space now. He still had his most prized positions. Like the All Might alarm clock.

"Listen kid." Izuku looked back at his talking hand. At Hank, he mentally corrected.

"About earlier… I'm… I'm… I uh… Fuck this is a lot harder than I thought it would be."

Izuku curled his lips in minor amusement. "Go on Hank, it won't kill you."

"Shut the fuck up. Give me a second. Ok… here goes. I'm… Sssss… I'm sorry." Hank managed to say through grit teeth as if the word 'sorry' was completely alien to him and that it physically hurt him.

Izuku gazed at the hand in bewilderment. "You… You're saying sorry about Death Arms?"

"What? No. I still stand by the fact that it doesn't matter. What I'm sorry about is for snubbing you. I don't like snubbing."

"Oh… Thanks… I guess." Izuku rubbed his forehead while looking around his room, his eyes landing on his desk. At the various notebooks lying around.

A realization then came crashing down on him. "Oh, crap… I haven't designed my hero costume yet!" Panic began to spread through him before Hank manifested from the shadows and wrapped an arm around his shoulders.

"Don't worry buddy. Your ol pal Hank is here to the rescue."

"I'm not sure-" Hank then sat the hero in training down on his swivel chair.

"Too bad. I know what I'm doing when it comes to this. I'm helping you live longer."

Izuku quirked an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Why? It's my job to keep you alive that's why." Hank shrugged before grabbing a random notebook and a pencil.

"H-Hey! I-"

"Can it and let the professional work. You're gonna love it. Hmm, black and red, black and red…" Hank paused and looked Izuku up and down. "What was I thinking? Black and green would look perfect on you."

Hank then began to sketch on the page, his hand a blur as he drew up the design. Izuku watched as the ghost almost seemed… giddy about making the suit.

"Alright, so eighteen layers of kevlar all over your body. In between each layer will be aerogel to provide complete insolation. The final layer will be impact foam. The chest and back will have interlocking titanium plates, sandwiched between the kevlar." Hank took another long look at the nettled boy.

"Yeah, it's all coming together. Shins and your forearm will have AR500 steel… shoulder's too. Your glove will also have kevlar, but the knuckles will be lead tipped and a non-slip grip. Boots… I'll say tungsten in the heel and the toes."

"Hank could you-" He was quickly interrupted by the assassin.

"Do me a solid and look up 'Full Helmet Technology' will ya?"

Izuku sighed and turned to his computer, turning it and going to the browser. Searching up what Hank had just asked him to. Clicking on the first result.

"Well uh… it says that due to progress made in miniaturization, helmets with built-in Night Vision, Heat Vision, and EMF vision as well as a respirator that can also function as a rebreather. Huh." Izuku read aloud, rubbing his chin in thought.

"Of course all the good shit would be made after I die. Anyways. Helmet made of Polycarbonate, Titanium plating, Impact foam, and of course Hank special kevlar. With all the good shit you just said."

Hank then tossed the pencil over his shoulder and flipped the notebook over to Izuku.

"All done. Feel free to add to it however you please." Izuku grabbed the notebook skeptically and looked at the sketch, his eyes widening at what he saw.

"Hank this is… Thank you. I'll submit this to U.A first thing in the morning."

Hank shook his head and wagged his finger. "Nuh-uh. We still have to design the gadgets Duke."

"Gadgets? But-"

"Having Overpowered bullshit is cool and all. But you need to be prepared for every occasion. It's why I made your pants cargo pants and gave you a swanky utility belt."

Izuku raised an eyebrow before looking down at the sketch. "Gadgets… let's get to work then."

"Noice. Alright. First things first. Guns."

Izuku's face morphed into an expression of horror and was about to argue with the assassin when Hank raised his hands up.

"Let me finish! Alright, write this down, Guns with non-lethal ammo. AR-15 loaded in rubber bullets, an Uzi or Mac-10 also with rubber bullets. M79 grenade launcher that can fire stun grenades. Maybe some tear gas too."

Izuku rubbed his chin before nodding. "Yeah, that could work." He muttered while writing down Hank's suggestions.

Hank nodded before grabbing another piece of paper. "Alright so for some more advanced stuff I was thinking of… how do you feel about grappling hooks?"

Their discussions and sketching carried on into the night. The two creating a variety of gadgets to be used in a multitude of scenarios.

After hours of designing and going back and forth on what to do, Izuku fell asleep. Exhaustion taking hold of him. Once it was four in the morning.

Hank paused and looked down as Izuku slept on the desk, dozens of papers containing different designs for various gadgets littered across the desk.

The assassin sighed and grabbed the young man and hoisted him up before plopping him down on his bed.

"Good night Duke."

Izuku woke up five hours later, he looked around his room through a half-lidded gaze. His brain ran on half power as he sat up. The smell of food and coffee stirred him from his slumber.

He looked at his desk for a moment before remembering what happened last night. He rubbed his eyes to try and get the sleep out of them as he stood up and walked to his bathroom.

He turned on the sink before splashing some water on his face and then brushing his teeth. Once he was done with that he put on a green sweatshirt and reached for some green sweat pants before stopping and grabbing some black ones instead.

He sorted through his collection of red converse and put on the most worn pair. Ready for the day he opened the door and walked down to the rest of the apartment.

As he made it into the living room he saw his mom sitting on the couch and watching tv while eating breakfast.

She glanced and saw him. "Good Morning. You're food's on the counter with some coffee, just how you like it."

"Thank you." Izuku said gratefully as he walked over and found a heaping of scrambled eggs and hashbrowns with a stack of bacon on the side. A cup of orange juice and a mug of creamy and sugary coffee.

He grabbed the mug and downed the coffee in two gulps. Sighing with content as he placed it down and picked up his plate and cup.

Walking back to the couch and sitting down next to his mom, he quickly realized that it was a local news network focusing on… on him. Well, the Wraith to be exact. A blurry photo of him jumping in between buildings was plastered on the screen.

Izuku grimaced before shaking his head lightly and eating his breakfast in large chunks. Watching the bit intently as the two co-hosts and the guest debated about him.

{"Now this Menace right here is what's caused that attack in the first place. These vigilantes cause nothing but trouble."} The first host, a middle-aged man with a rough voice, the sides of his hair greying and most of his hair black. A thick and well-kept mustache on his face said. A pair of simple slacks and a button-up shirt with a tie was all he wore

{"We don't know if he had any connection to that attack Yona-San. He may very well have been trying to stop him. And look at the facts, when this Wraith guy came onto the scene crime decreased. He saw what was going on and did something about it!"} The second host. An also middle-aged blonde woman with golden eyes and a black dress replied.

{"Oh please Ena-San. If everyone took the law into their own hands we'd have anarchy. People can't just put on masks and beat up other people. We have police and heroes for a reason. Law and Order keep society from crumbling down."}

{"If I may add something to the conversation."} The guest, an African-American military officer from the looks of it. His skin was slightly grey, a product of his quirk maybe. A bar appeared below him, stating his name and occupation.

[Colonel Clay Monroe. PPDF Officer.]

Both of the hosts paused and gestured for the guest to continue.

{"Well. First things first."} Monroe paused as he looked for the right words to use before continuing.

{"I have reason to believe that this Vigilante is not at all former Military. He's well trained, but he's too graceful. He's rugged for sure. But there's too much refinement in how he fights. It's clear to me that he's been training in Martial Arts and CQC for many years."}

Izuku went to eat another chunk of his food but his fork hit nothing and he looked down to an empty plate. He hummed to himself before downing his orange juice and stood up, empty plate and cup in hand.

Inko looked up, not even halfway down with her food. "Don't eat too fast Izuku-kun. I know you're a growing boy but even you need to chew." She said teasingly.

Izuku blushed lightly and said nothing as he washed his dishes quickly.

Izuku walked over to his mom once he was done and kissed her on the forehead.

"I love you Kaa-San." He said with a soft smile.

Inko smiled back at him and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you too. Now go and do what you've gotta do my big hero. I compiled all of your papers in a folder, it should be on your desk."

Izuku looked back at his mom in surprise before he smiled again. "Thank you." He said softly.

Inko just nodded her head. "I'm just happy for you Izuku-kun. Like I said. I'll support you all the way."

Izuku's heart felt fuzzy and he smiled dumbly, hugging his mom from behind the couch.

Inko grinned and rubbed her son's arm gently before Izuku broke the hug.

"Alright. I'm gonna go drop off the folder and train for the day. See you Kaa-San."

Inko nodded. "Keep your phone with you and be home by ten at the very least."

Izuku nodded before walking back up to his room, a folder on his desk just as his mom had told him.

He walked over and grabbed it, inspecting it before looking back at his bed. Realizing something.

'Wait… I fell asleep on the desk. Mom wouldn't have been strong enough to carry me so…'

"Hank." He said aloud as the undead mass murderer formed into being as a shadow next to him.

"Yeah duke?" Hank asked as he leaned on seemingly nothing.

"Did you put me on my bed last night?"

"What? No. You did that yourself ya dumbass. Don't ask stupid shit like that ever again." Shadow Hank then dematerialized. Izuku looked at where the shadow was.

Izuku didn't believe him.

Izuku dropped the massive envelope with the folder inside it in his mailbox. The address for U.A on it.

With that done he left the apartment building and began to jog towards the beach. Ready to start with training One for all.

He rested all day yesterday, and he was more than ready now. He jogged at his usual speed, zooming past people with ease as he weaved in between them without a problem.

His spine then tingled and he tackled a salaryman and another jogger into an alleyway as suddenly something burst up from the ground.

Izuku dragged the two backwards as a man wearing a clunky and bulky suit of power armor burst from the ground. Massive cracks forming with every step he took. A massive drill-lance in his hands as he looked at the cowering crowd.

"FEAR ME FOOLS! I AM YOUR NEW LORD! THE EARTH KING IS HERE TO-"

The villain was interrupted when Izuku dashed towards him, his body feeling faster and lighter than normal. A faint red glow came from his shoes as he held his arms up ready to fight.

He then reared his right arm back, the flesh in between the chitin glowing red as then punched the villain.

His fist breaking through the lance with ease and then launching the villain back a dozen meters. The imprint of his fist in the power armor's chest plate.

The villain looked at his broken lance in befuddlement, quickly shifting his head from the lance to Izuku. Rage filled the man as he tossed the broken lance aside. Izuku shifted into a Taekwondo fighting stance as he readied himself for a fight.

"YOU! HOW DARE YOU DEFILE THE MIGHT OF THE EART-" The overdramatic villain was once again cut off when a figure crashed into him.

"LUNA FALL!"

Izuku's eyes widened when he saw who it was. The Rabbit Heroine Miruko. The bunny hero heel kicked the armored villain in the head. The sheer force of the kick caused a small shock wave to form as the villain was driving straight down into the ground, locking him in the dirt, his dented helmet being the only thing above ground.

The villain's head slumped as he whimpered slightly. Miruko placed her boot triumphantly on top of the villain's head.

The crowd murmured amongst themselves and cheered at the rabbit hero's arrival and many others took pictures. Izuku tensed up slightly and reached into his pocket, a small notebook inside.

Just as he pulled it out, Miruko looked at him and jumped in front of the boy. Making him jump slightly. The bunny hero had a large grin on her face.

"Hey! Saw what you did there, nice right hook you've got." Miruko said with a chipper attitude while playfully punching Izuku on the shoulder.

Izuku blushed at the contact and those closest to him congratulated him. The crowd dispersing while those closest stuck around.

"Yeah! Saw that guy move, shot forward like lighting." One onlooker said.

"It was so cool. Think he's a hero in training?" Another replied.

"Must be. He'd make a great hero with how powerful his quirk seems to be."

Izuku's blush intensified. "A-Ah I-I was just-" Miruko chuckled and interrupted him.

"Don't sell yourself short, kid. You got a mean right hook, see ya around mister big shot." Miruko then jumped onto a lamp post before hopping away in an instant.

Izuku deflated a little bit as the hero hopped away. He wanted her autograph.

Suddenly he felt a hand pat him on the back and he glanced backwards to see the grateful looking business man, who Izuku realized towered over him. The man had pink skin and two large horns on his brown hair. His scrilla black while the pupils themselves were red. He wore a finely pressed black suit and a grey overcoat.

"Thank you, my boy. You saved my life. Here." The man handed him a business card for some kind of law firm.

"If you ever need legal advice go to Daiki legal practice and look up Ashido." The man patted him on the back again before walking off.

He turned around and saw the girl he knocked out of the way too. Her doe-like chestnut eyes looking up at him, her chestnut hair flowing slightly in the wind. The light blush dusting her cheeks and a genuine smile on her face.

Izuku's heart skipped a beat.

Oh no.

'Cute' He thought to himself, not hearing Hank at all.

"Hey. Thanks for saving me back there. I'm Uraraka Ochako. Thanks again." She said with a cheery smile. Izuku blushed slightly and calmed himself slightly.

"I-It was no problem. I just wanted to help. I-I'm Midoryia Izuku." He managed to fumble out, only stuttering twice.

Ochako giggled lightly but paused when her phone beeped, she opened it and her eyes widened slightly.

"Ah sorry. I've gotta go now. My grandpa needs some help. See you Midoriya-Kun." She said before jogging off while waving at him.

Izuku smiled dumbly and waved back. Hank scoffed at the young man's attitude.

Don't get distracted by that shit Duke. Romance makes people weak. Plus I don't like her, something seems… Off about her. Weirdly familiar somehow.

Izuku frowned as was about to retort when he saw a familiar car pull up. The tinted window rolled down to reveal Yagi, a grin on the man's face.

"Yagi-Sensai!" Izuku walked over to the car and got inside. Yagi chuckled lightly and began to drive.

"I saw what you did. And while I do not approve of public quirk usage, what you did was remarkable. You will make a great bearer of One for All. Already able to use it subconsciously, remarkable."

Izuku smiled at his teacher's words but frowned slightly when they passed the beach.

"Ahh. Yagi-Sensai. Where are we going?" Izuku asked calmly, his paranoia taking hold.

"We're going to a secure location to test your quirk. None other than U.A itself." Yagi said as his grin grew wider.

Izuku's heart stopped for a moment before he began to jump with excitement in his seat. A childlike glee on his face.

Yagi smiled as Izuku's eyes widened as U.A came into view. The four large glass towers filled him with awe as they grew closer.

Toshinori pulled into a rather barren parking lot. Only two other cars in the entire lot.

Yagi stepped out of the car with Izuku doing the same. He looked up at the massive building. Suddenly feeling intimidated.

Yagi noticed this and placed a hand on Izuku's shoulder.

"Worry not Young Shonen. It'll be a simple test and that's it."

"I know it's just…" Izuku trailed off as he looked at the massive building once more.

Yagi sighed and looked up with him. "I understand your hesitation. I felt the same way when I looked up at those towers. But this will be another step on the way of being a hero. I believe in you Young Shonen."

Izuku looked at All Might before smiling gratefully. "Thank you." He said softly.

Yagi nodded and walked alongside Izuku as they both made their way to the building. Inside was a lot like any other school hallway he had seen. Just… so much bigger and cleaner.

"Come with me, Young Shonen. We're almost at Gym Gamma, there we'll assess your abilities with One for All." Yagi then walked alongside Izuku, the hero in training kept pace with his mentor when something crossed his mind.

"What do you mean by 'we'?" He asked, causing Yagi to smile slightly.

"Don't worry Young Midoriya. They already know about One for All, and their close friends. We can trust them." Yagi told the young man. Calming him slightly.

Izuku nodded slightly. Feeling slightly calmer. But a small part of him couldn't help but be tense, his eyes subconsciously looking for any threats and the nearest exists.

'Windows, I can survive the landing.' He thought as he looked at the closest escape avenue. 'Vents are too small. Windows are my best bet.' He concluded, relaxing now that he had a proper what-if plan in place.

With his worries at rest the two carried on, eventually making it to the gym doors. Yagi grabbed one of the handles and opened it, gesturing for Izuku to enter.

He didn't hesitate and he stepped inside. His jaw dropped when he saw how massive the entire gym was and at the state of the art technology inside.

The massive training pads, the training bots, the monitoring machines. It then dawned on him that he was in what could be one of the most advanced places on the entire earth.

"Impressive isn't it?" He heard an unfamiliar voice next to him say.

Izuku paused and looked to his side, confusion spreading through him as he saw nobody there.

"Down here." Izuku looked down and almost jumped when he saw a small white mouse… bear… man? Wearing a suit? The only thing that made sense to him was that the animal had a large scar over its left eye.

The weird chimera chuckled at Izuku's confused expression. "I know what you're thinking right now. Am I a mouse? A bear? Or a dog? Not even I know!"

Pet it.

'What?'

Pet it now.

'I can't just do that!' Izuku ignored the assassin and instead looked down at the weird mouse bear thing.

Yagi stood next to the intelligent animal with a smile on his face.

"Nezu-Sama how is everything?" Toshinori asked, seemingly knowing the rat bear man.

"Very well Yagi-San, everything's ready for your protege." Nezu then said. Causing Izuku to stiffen up slightly.

Yagi noticed and patted the young man on the back. "Calm down Young Shonen. This is Principle Nezu and he already knows our secret. We can trust him."

Izuku looked back at Nezu, his mind stopping for a moment before he blushed slightly and bowed towards the principal.

"H-Hello Sensai. It is an honor to meet you. I-I-I-I-I-" Izuku tried to bow again but then All Might coughed up some blood and formed his arms into a cross.

"NONSENSE! Stop worrying my boy! Nezu isn't going to bite your face off." Yagi joked, causing Nezu to giggle and Izuku to pause.

"I wouldn't be able to jump that high even if I wanted to." Nezu replied humorously.

Both of them shared a laugh as Izuku sighed.

Nezu turned to the young man and bowed slightly. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well Midoriya-Kun. All Might has told me much about you."

"Thank you. I'm sorry I-" Izuku was cut off when Nezu patted his knee.

"It's quite alright. I understand your nervousness. Do your best, plus ultra!" Nezu gave him an encouraging thumbs-up.

Izuku smiled and nodded. "Thank you."

Nezu nodded back. "No thanks are needed. When Yagi-Sama asked if you could come over I immediately accepted."

The fuzzy principal then gestured to the machines set up on the nearby platform to his right.

"We have a series of minor tests set up for you to determine how much of One for All you can use. If anything should happen we have several of our teachers on standby as well as our school nurse. So don't be afraid to go all out."

Izuku nodded and walked over to the platform. Seeing a large device that stood up to his chest, a large cushion attached to the front of the machine.

Yagi and Nezu stood a small distance away. "All right Midoriya-kun. First thing's first, you see the machine in front of you? Go ahead and give it a good wallop. Without One for All, so we can compare the difference." Nezu said while somehow producing a cup of tea from seemingly nowhere.

Yagi looked at the intelligent animal in confusion. "Where did you get that?"

"I have my ways." Nezu answered cryptically before taking a sip. Yagi sighed and looked back at his stoic protege.

With a calm aura aurrounding around the boy, he shifted into a southpaw boxing style. His face was schooled and emotionless. Seemingly favoring his left side when in reality it was to allow him to use his powerful right arm more effectively.

Yagi felt a cold sweat drip down his face. 'He's a young man. Not even a man, he's still a boy. How did he learn to shift into fighting so easily?' Yagi was reminded of special forces operators and MMA practitioners he had met when he saw Izuku's calm demeanor. People who were certain in their fighting skill.

'It's as if he had been trained to fight his entire life.' Yagi shook his head and watched as Izuku jabbed at the cushion. His left arm was a blur as it connected with the machine.

The machine processed the information, and a moment later the screen on the side of the machine flashed to life, showing the power behind Izuku's punch as well as a speaker yelling out the results.

"Bzzzt. Twenty-thousand newtons. Bzzzt"

"Twenty-thousand from a simple jab?" Yagi wondered aloud. "Not even professional boxers could hope to match a quarter of that."

Nezu nodded. "Alright, Midoriya-kun. Try a more powerful attack this time."

Izuku nodded and raised his right arm and struck the pad with a hook. This time the punch moved the machine just a small amount.

"Bzzzt. Forty-thousand newtons. Bzzzt."

"Most impressive Young Midoriya. Now try punching with as much of One for All you can use." Yagi then suddenly turned into his All Might form.

"Ahahaha! And remember! To use it properly, reach deep within your heart and yell 'SMASH'!" All Might bellowed out while placing his fist over his heart, a wide smile on his face.

Izuku took in a deep breath as he stood low to the ground, his feet apart and his muscles clenched.

Suddenly red glowing lines formed over the visible parts of his body. His muscles expanded slightly as he felt the massive power of One for All surge within him.

Huh. This is pretty cool actually. What say you Duke? … Greenie?

Warning: Normality functions being overloaded. Cease.

His vision began to blur, static taking its place. His eyes glowed brighter as bolts of Nexus energy formed across his entire body. The air pressure is building up around him. The Nexus energy joined the air pressure as a whirlwind began to form around Izuku.

Oh shit.

"Oh dear." Nezu said softly, dread building up in him as All Might frowned. The hero rushed forward to grab Izuku. But dodged to the side as a nexus bolt almost hit him, leaving a massive scorched hole where All Might used to be.

"Young Midoriya! Snap out of it!" All Might yelled out as he moved forward once more. The immense wind pressure kept him from rushing in.

Nezu hid behind some of the rafters and triggered the silent alarm. Cementoss and Midnight should be rushing in at any moment now.

As All Might tried to reach Izuku, the wind pressure grew so intense that the windows nearby broke from how strong it was.

Hey! Greenhorn! LISTEN! STOP!

Izuku couldn't hear Hank as he was suddenly somewhere else. The wind hit his body. He could smell rust and smog. It made him gag with how present it was. How it clung to him and forced its way into his nose.

"Ugh… Wh-Where am I?"

He paused when a giant shadow loomed over him. He turned around and saw a giant of a man, taller than Hank and All Might combined. He was a mass of muscle that towered over Izuku.

The giant moved faster than it should have been able to and was on top of him in moments. Izuku looked at him wide-eyed, unable to move as fear paralyzed him.

Izuku raised his arms to defend himself. Unaware of the Nexus energy building up within his right arm. The Nexus Energy and One for All colliding together. All over his body, wisps of smoke began to appear. His skin turned slightly grey as he began to turn into ash.

"YOUNG MIDORIYA!"

IZUKU

As All Might tried to get closer to his protege. Hank ran through a million different plans before looking at Izuku's right arm.

Jackpot. Hang on kid.

Hank then moved to the arm and began messing with the mutations within. Trying to change then.

Just then the door to the gym burst open, Cementoss and Midnight almost being blasted away by the wind pressure within the room.

Cementoss grit his teeth and shakily raised his arms up, forming a concrete wall around the boy. Said concrete rapidly being worn down in seconds. The hero cursed silently and focused on keeping the wall intact, lessening the wind pressure slightly.

Midnight tried to move forward but was almost blasted back. Her arm being grabbed by All Might. All Might then brought her closer to him and the 18 plus heroine clung onto his shoulders and All Might pressed onwards.

Back in Izuku's mindscape, time slowed down as the giant rushed forward. His massive fist was almost in front of the young hero.

'Why can't I move? I need to move. I need to move, I… I can't feel my legs'

The giant fist slammed into his stomach, Izuku was sent flying into an invisible railing, his back hitting the barrier.

*CRACK*

He flopped onto the ground, whimpering as he began to cough up blood. His back twisted awkwardly. The giant looming over him, apathy written all over the things face. Izuku tried to move but his legs refused to, any strength he had sapped away.

The giant raised its boot and placed it on Izuku's back.

'No… I don't want to die. I don't want to die.'

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" He cried.

As All Might made it to the wall, he lifted Midnight to the top of the wall.

She grit her teeth as the wind pressure became more intense. Just as she was about to tear open a part of her costume.

Izuku's right arm suddenly began to expand, the muscle growing bigger and denser. The chitin plate reformed as his talons grew larger and sharper. His right arm was now four times the size.

Got it. Now to aim this bad boy.

His right arm then shot to the side. Away from everyone else and the Nexus Energy and Wind pressure concentrated around the limb.

The collected energy was then released like a cannon. Shoot forward and easily broke through the concrete wall and tore a massive hole through the gym wall.

With the wind pressure and Nexus energy all spent from his body Izuku almost tumbled. Looking around in confusion before falling unconscious as a purple mist surrounded him.

As Izuku lay on the ground unconscious, All Might looked at his protege with guilt. Looking at the boy's completely broken arm, bent in the wrong direction in multiple places.

Bone sticking out through the muscle as the chitin cracked and fell off the arm, his fingers and wrist mangled and blood pooling around the limb.

'This is my fault.'

All Might leaned down to his protege's unconscious form and gently picked him up, being mindful of his injuries.

"I'm sorry." He whispered to the boy and carried him to the nurses office.

Normality functions nominal. Have a nice day.

Izuku found himself in an all too familiar grey warehouse. The warehouse in his dreams where he and Hank trained.

"How ya feelin kid?"

Izuku glanced behind him and saw Hank standing a few feet away.

"I… I don't know. Can't feel much of anything." Izuku replied, looking seemingly nowhere.

"Yeah. It's the morphine they've got you hooked on. Got you loaded up like a Mexican drug mule."

Izuku couldn't help but chuckle before regaining his composure. "Hank… how long have I been out?"

"Bout three or so days. Not too long all things considered. I… Your mom is waiting in the room, worried sick. Do her a favor and wake up will ya?"

Before Izuku could respond, light began to crack through the warehouse, blurring his vision for a moment.

He then opened his eyes, quickly realizing he was on a hospital bed. Monitoring machines to his right side, his mutated hand covered in a cast extending to his shoulder.

He looked to his left and saw his mom, sitting on a chair and fast asleep. Leaning on the bed, her hands wrapped around his own.

He smiled softly at seeing her.

"So you're awake." Izuku almost jumped when he heard the whisper but kept calm and glanced at the whisperer.

Seeing an almost miniscule old woman wearing a pink helmet with blue visor and a white lab coat. Her cane shaped like a needle.

His eyes widened slightly. "You're the Youthful Heroine. Recovery Girl." Izuku whispered in awe.

The heroine cracked a small smile before shaking her head and sighing.

"With how easily you bounced back from your normally debilitating injury, you're his successor all right." She muttered before gently tapping Inko in the shoulder with her cane.

Inko woke up groggily before looking at Izuku. Her son was fully awake and smiling at her.

Inko had tears forming in her eyes as she hugged Izuku tightly. Clinging onto him as if he would disappear.

Izuku gently hugged her back, his only usable hand holding her.

Inko broke the hug as the door to the medical room opened. Yagi and Nezu walking in. Inko glared at the two but said nothing.

Nezu, Yagi, and Recovery girl all shared a look.

"Midoriya-sama." Nezu addressed Inko. "We ask that you leave so th-"

"NO!" Inko yelled out, her eyes welling with tears as her hands shook uncontrollably. Surprising everyone in the room.

"I-I-I Won't leave!" Inko shouted as tears began to stream down her face.

"M-My s-son has been in a coma for t-three days and you expect me to 'leave'?" She questioned, shaken anger directed at the principle whose demeanour hasn't changed one bit.

"Kaa-san, i-it's fine w-" Inko interrupted Izuku, shutting down his reply.

"It's not fine! Y-You almost died!" She yelled while grabbing the sides of her head and pacing near the bed.

"T-This is insane! What happened to my son that almost killed him!?" She demanded, her voice wavering slightly.

She has a right to know. Ya know?

Izuku frowned, clenching his fist tightly as his mind raced through the possibilities.

"Midoriya-sama please we-"

"Yagi-sensei." Izuku interrupted, his voice even and calm. "She deserves to know about One for All."

Inko looked at her son in confusion, the other three sharing nervous looks before Yagi sighed.

"Alright… We'll tell her." Yagi said Nezu looked at him for a moment before nodding, Recovery Girl sighed and rubbed her temples.

"... Tell me what? What's One for all?" Inkoasked, having calmed down a little bit but still had tears in her eyes. Recovery girl offered her a bottle of water which Inko took reluctantly and downed in moments, calming her further.

Yagi took in a deep breath before suddenly transforming into All Might. Inko being so shocked she almost fell on her back, Izuku catching her and helping her keep stable.

"A-ALL MIGHT!?" Inko yelled out in confusion.

"YES! I AM HE-BLEAUGH" All Might coughed up blood and transformed back into the ghoulish and thin Yagi.

Inko almost ran towards the man to try and help him but Yagi held a hand up.

"Yagi you fool. Did you have to do that?" Recovery Girl asked in exasperation.

"Yes. I wanted to show her who I am." Yagi then turned his full attention to Inko. His piercing blue glowing eyes stared deep into her soul. Yagi then grabbed his suit jacket and his formal shirt and pulled it upward.

Inko gasped as she saw the massive series of scars on his abdomen. Taking up a full third of his chest as well.

"It's an injury I received from a villain five years ago. I lost my whole stomach and became emaciated with so many surgeries. It was a battle so intense that it mustn't be shown to the public under any circumstance lest they lose hope in the Symbol of Peace." Yagi placed the suit back down, hiding the scars once more. Inko looked at Yagi sympathetically.

"The reason why I am telling you this Midoriya-sama is because I have chosen your son as my successor. I firmly believe he is worthy to inherit my power."

"Y-Your power?" Inko blinked as Yagi nodded.

"My quirk and the quirk of those before me. One for All." Yagi held his hand out before suddenly clenching it into a fist. A bright glow emanating from the fist.

"A quirk that has been passed down from generation to generation. Growing more powerful with each user. I am the eighth user and your son is the ninth. And as for what happened… " Toshinori trailed off for a moment. "I was more than certain he could handle One for All. I'm sorry." He said as he bowed to both Midoriya's.

Nezu quickly took over to explain more details to the two. "After running some tests while you were out. We found that while your body could normally handle twenty-five percent of One for All. Your quirk is actively fighting against power."

"It's as if your quirk thinks of One for All as a virus and is trying to purge it. Simply put. You will not be able to use OFA's full power. At our best estimates, you can use maybe five or six percent." Nezu said, his tone turning slightly somber.

Izuku looked at the principal in disbelief. Looking down as he tried to process the information. Inko looked at him and squeezed his hand reassuringly. Izuku squeezed back, smiling softly. His mind was then made up at the moment.

"All that matters is that I can use it." Izuku suddenly said, shocking everyone else in the room. "I don't care what the drawbacks are. I'm one step closer to my dream." He continued confidently. He would accomplish his dreams. No matter what.

888

It was almost midnight as Izuku sat on the bench. But he didn't care. The cool breeze brought in and the rhythm of the ocean calmed him. Dagobah Beach was beautiful at this time of night. He just realized that.

And from the other people sitting on the beach and admiring it, they realized it too.

After being cooped up for so long he went on a walk to stretch his legs. Needed to get active again. And after a short jog, he found himself drawn to the beach for some reason.

He pulled his mutated hand out of the hoodie pocket.

'It's still numb.' He thought to himself. 'Like dozens of tiny needles being constantly jammed into my arm.'

He thought back to what recovery girl told him when she cut off the cast on his arm.

"It's honestly a miracle that your arm wasn't completely torn off. I had to do surgery to realign everything and place pins to keep it all in place. Whatever your quirk is, it healed everything far faster than I thought it would. Take it easy for a few days, sonny."

Izuku sighed and placed his hand back into his pocket. Looking at the moon shining over the water.

Hey. Don't take it too seriously alright kid? With your new bullshit powers you can take out mooks faster now.

'I know. It's just… ' Izuku trailed off.

Listen, don't worry about it. Having a handicap means it'll be an experience and not some insta win now. That'd be boring as fuck.

Izuku smiled slightly. 'Is that your way of cheering me up Hank?'

Blow it out your ass.

Izuku chuckled and leaned back into the bench. Smiling as the cool breeze gently flowed around him.

As he looked around he saw something in the corner of his eye. He glanced over and saw the girl from three days ago. She was leaning on a fence post and looking out into the ocean, the wind flowing through her hair. She looked almost ethereal but all too real at the same time.

'Uraraka-chan.'

He quickly looked away when she glanced over to him. Hank grumbled slightly.

Ya pansy. Go over and talk to her. Just get it over with instead of sitting there like a little bitch.

'Hank I can't just go over to her! It'd be weird and-'

"Hey you're the tall boy from a few days ago. Midoriya right?" Izuku jumped slightly and he blushed slightly.

"A-Ah. Y-Yeah, I'm Midoriya, Uraraka-chan." He replied immediately, keeping himself composed.

The girl smiled and giggled softly, causing Izuku's heart to skip slightly.

"Hey Midoriya-kun." She said suddenly. "Do you want to hang out?" She asked him.

Izuku's mind ran through a million thoughts in just a single moment. Anxiety ran through him.

Oh for the love of. Just say yes!

"I'd love to." He then answered, blushing slightly and mentally cursing Hank. Ochako's smile grew wider, his own smile growing alongside hers. And for a moment, Izuku felt better about the future.
