Chapter 2

Third POV

Hitoshi had been sitting in Hisoka's lap all day. He can't say that he recommends it. Hisoka had fallen asleep with his head buried in Hitoshi's neck around an hour ago. Hitoshi had tried to escape the psycho clown's arms multiple times within that hour, every time he tried the arms around his waist tightened their grip. Makes him wonder if the clown is really asleep or if it's just a natural reaction, it would be weird if it was.

He doesn't quite understand the clown's obsession with him, I mean sure he's had people after him because of his quirk before, but never like this. "Little kitten, stop moving so much~."

Hitoshi's reply was to jab his elbow into Hisoka's side.

Hisoka sighed. His little kitten doesn't seem to like him much. Speaking of which Hisoka never even got his name. 'Little kitten will do for now,' he mused.

Hisoka's POV

My little kitten is probably hungry, he hasn't eaten anything all day. I suppose I should get him something to eat. "Are you hungry little kitten~?" I asked.

He looked up at me, and gave a hesitant nod.

"Hmm, what to do~? How do I know you won't escape using your little powers~?"

He looked away.

"I will remove the muzzle, but at first sign that you're beginning to use your powers there will be consequences~ understand?"

He nodded.

Hitoshi's POV

He unlocked the muzzle and set it off to the side. It would be so easy to say something and escape. I just have to open my mouth to say something and hope he gives some kind of answer. "I know what you're thinking little kitten~, open your mouth to say even one word I'll put the muzzle back on and not let you eat or drink until I find a solution to this issue we seem to have~. And don't worry I won't let you die in this time period. I'll find a way to keep you alive~. I suppose I'll have around 3 days before you start needing water~."

Where's the nearest bridge so I can jump off?

"I'll be back little kitten~ don't leave the room, I'll know if you do~."

Why is he just leaving me here alone? Does he really think I'm not going to try to escape? Or is he hoping I try to escape?

Hisoka lifted me off his lap and got up to leave the room. I guess he's getting food. I approached the door he just left through and pressed my ear to it. " -stop mind control from working on a specific target~?"

That's Hisoka's voice, did he really just step outside the room to make a phone call? I guess he really was serious about trying to find something to block my quirk. Looking back on it I should've just lied about my ability, maybe then he would've left me alone. "Oh~ well isn't that interesting~?" I backed away from the door and moved to the window on the opposite side of the room. I slid the window open as quietly as I could hoping it wouldn't squeak. (I have the most annoyingly loud window ?) As soon as I finished opening the window I looked out, the room I'm in seems to be around 200 floors up off the ground. Well then, escaping through the window doesn't seem like the best option.

"What is it you think you're doing little kittens~?"

I spun around so fast I almost fell out the window, well I would have if Hisoka hadn't pulled me into his chest. "The building we're in is called Heavens Arena~ there are 251 floors and the building is 991 meters tall~. You will find no escape out the window kitten~."

I shifted in his embrace, I should've just jumped when I had the chance I could've landed on a balcony or something and survived with a couple broken bones. I might've managed better if I had my capture tape but it's in my backpack, which is on a sidewalk back home.

Home. I wonder if I really died, or if the ritual was some sort of reverse summoning spell of something. Maybe the world really just does hate me.

"A friend of mine gave me some advice on how to prevent you from using your mind control on me~ assuming of course that you weren't lying about your ability~."

"I wasn't." I whispered.

Hisoka quickly shoved his fingers in my mouth and pressed down on my tongue. He waited a few minutes with his fingers still in my mouth before saying something. "None of that now kitten~. I could feel something when you spoke, I was aware of your ability beforehand which is the only reason I even noticed~ I must commend you for this excellent ability, but you seem to not be able to shut it off, is that right kitten~?"

I nodded, he already knows anyway he's only asking to see if I would be honest with him.

"Well~ this could prove to be very interesting~. I think I'm going to keep you~."

I started choking a little, Hisoka must have noticed because he removed his fingers from my mouth and knocked me out. (Hitoshi has been knocked unconscious quite often so far, I kinda feel bad ?)

Third's POV

Hisoka placed Hitoshi on the bed and sat back down in the armchair he and his kitten had been occupying for most of the day, speaking of his kitten he never really did end up getting him something to eat. He supposed that he could wait to feed him until after Illumi arrived.

Hisoka had come across a few fruits before but never ones with a natural ability as similar to nen as his kitten's is. He wonders if more people have natural abilities where the man comes from, he did show up in a blazing inferno that felt similar to nen but didn't at the same time, it felt exactly like his kitten's ability does.

Hisoka supposed he could interrogate him if his plans worked out. He called Illumi earlier that day to ask if his needles could prevent a brainwasher from controlling you. Illumi had stated that it was possible but his needles aren't necessarily required, as all one has to do is trick the ability into thinking the target is the same person as the one trying to control the target. It's not overly complicated but it can be difficult to actually do. Hisoka simply has to mark his kitten with his nen and have his kitten mark him with his ability. That was all he had needed from Illumi, but Illumi was coming over anyway as his curiosity was piqued and he might need a brainwasher on his next job.

Illumi can of course interrogate people himself; he just never gets a straight answer from the victim before having to kill them due to their uselessness.

Hisoka was thinking about all the possible outcomes and advantages a brainwasher can bring when he heard a knock on his door. He got up and walked to the door, he opened it and let the person on the other side in. "Illumi~ how have you been~.?"

"Where is he?"

"Is that the way you greet an old friend~?"

"We're not friends, assassins don't need or have friends." Illumi stated. "Now where is this supposed brainwasher you talked about?"

"I don't recall ever mentioning a brainwasher~ I simply asked you how to resist mind control~ ️."

"Stop playing games."

"You're no fun~." Hisoka pouted, "He's over on the bed, I'm surprised you didn't see him~."

"Hisoka the bed is empty. There is no one there."

"Hmm~?" Hisoka turned around to find that the bed was indeed empty. He hadn't noticed his little kitten had woken. How strange, had he really been zoned out longer than he initially thought?

Hitoshi meanwhile was on the ceiling holding onto the rafters, trying not to make too much noise. He had used the window as hand and foot holds and had grabbed onto the rafter from there, sadly he was half a room away from the nearest vent. His dad (Aizawa) had once told him people seldom look up, which is why when gathering intel and sneaking around being up high and in the vents is always the best option. He is surprised that the supposed assassin Illumi, hadn't noticed him yet, as far as he can tell Illumi can use nen just like Hisoka.

Illumi did the only sensible thing one could do in this situation, he got mad. Though you couldn't really tell. "How could you lose such a valuable asset?" He questioned.

"Mmm~ he couldn't have left this room yet~ ."

The next thing Illumi did was look up - which assassin worth their salt doesn't look up, honestly. "Is the brainwasher purple haired and roughly 5'9?"

"Yes~ how did you know~?"

"He's on the ceiling." Illumi deadpanned.

Hitoshi cursed under his breath he was so close to the damn vent.

"Oh~ little kitten what is it you think you're doing? If you keep up these dangerous things I may have to chain you to the bed by your ankle~."

"Why wouldn't you tie up the person you kidnapped right away?" Illumi asked.

"I didn't kidnap him, Illumi~ I rescued him from his kidnappers and am keeping him here against his will~."

"That's the same thing."

"Is it~?"

Illumi just stared, he really couldn't understand the clown. He's only here because he wanted to see if a brainwasher actually existed.

"Come down now little kitten~ I wouldn't want to have to come get you~."

Hitoshi cursed again, staying up on the rafters is better than being down there, but at the same time he doesn't want Hisoka to come up here and get him. He reluctantly shifted his position on the rafters and jumped down.

"That's a good kitten~." Hisoka smiled.
