Chapter 4
Third POV
Hitoshi, Hisoka and Illumi spent the next couple days figuring out all the symptoms of their power exchange. There weren't many but they could end up being quite troublesome. They couldn't lie to each other as their emotions are linked and they would know, because their emotions are linked Hitoshi and Illumi have had the pleasure of feeling a diluted version of Hisoka's feelings; if you ask either of them they would both tell you it was unpleasant, not wanting to go into detail. None of them felt sexually attracted to one another, but they felt a certain need to cuddle and hug, physical contact with one another made their auras happy.
Illumi knew his family would either be livid or pleased with the predicament he now finds himself in. Sure having a brain washer and a magician at his beck and call was beneficial, but he also found he would do anything for them without question. When Illumi suggested combining a fraction of their powers to block mind control he knew there might be mild side effects for a few days, but this, this, he didn't want this (nothing he can do about it now). Maybe the side effects are this strong because Hitoshi's power isn't nen, it's only similar in property, maybe it's because they mixed too much of their powers together. Mixing his power with Hisoka's was entirely accidental; he hadn't even known it had happened until after he started feeling the same feeling around Hisoka as he did around Hitoshi. To sum it up Illumi was not happy at all but his body seemed to think cuddling was the best thing in the entire world.
Hisoka, unlike Illumi, was pleased with the outcome of this situation. It was a happy accident you could say. This made his future plans much simpler and easier to accomplish. He like Illumi hadn't known their nen mixed until he felt a part of Illumi intertwined with his own nen. He didn't mind too terribly, in fact he didn't hate it at all, if anything he was satisfied. Hisoka was sure these effects were permanent as he already checked and tested multiple things to effect the connection, absolutely nothing worked, the only thing he managed to do was make the other two restless. Hisoka smiled to himself, he supposed this is what it feels like to know you're able to trust and rely on someone, something he's never really had the pleasure of experiencing, is this what people would call having friends?
Hitoshi decided he wasn't going to care about his current situation too much. He wasn't happy or unhappy; he wasn't feeling a specific emotion at all, just acceptance. He accepted his situation wasn't going to change, it was unlikely his situation would get worse or better. Not that he cared much, he hasn't been able to make up his mind lately at all, he's all over the place. Before the connection was created he wanted to gain the strength to escape, now he can't find himself wanting to leave, he wants to gain strength to protect the only two he cares about at this moment, and he doesn't even care by his own violation, his body just decided that's what he was going to feel. He was definitely handling it better than he expected he would, if he went up to his teenage self right now and said 'oh by the way in around ten years you're going to be kidnapped by a clown and become emotionally connected to that clown and an assassin so just accept your fate now it isn't going to change.' his teenage self would probably shut down trying to process the information then interrogate him. Can he currently interrogate anyone? No. so what does he do? He shuts down and accepts his life, no reason to resist his body's feelings and make this harder than it needs to be, he's lazy after all.
The three of them were sitting on a couch together, all of them pondering their situation. Hisoka had an unsettling grin etched on his face, Illumi's face remained expressionless, and Hitoshi? Well he fell asleep with his head on Hisoka's shoulder the moment his thought process ended, this might also be one of the reasons Hisoka's grin keeps getting wider.
Timeskip~ 1 week
"So," Hitoshi started, "What now?"
"We're going to train you." Illumi stated.
"We are in havens arena after all~ it would be stupid to waste this opertunity~. You'll be starting on the first floor today, we'll teach you how to sense nen and see it when you reach the 200th floor." Hisoka explained.
"You will have one month to reach the 200th floor, if you can't do it we won't train you." Illumi said.
Hitoshi nodded, he could do that. He spent the last ten years of his life fighting villains; he was fairly certain he could do this without the usage of his quirk.
The three of them walked down to the first floor's reception desk to sign Hitoshi up as a fighter.
"We'll be going now, see you when you reach the 200th floor~ you will have to find your own living arrangements until then~." Hisoka and Illumi left him alone at the reception desk not even a second after the words left Hisoka's mouth.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" The receptionist asked.
Hitoshi couldn't shut off his mind control completely so he had to release the receptionist from his control after every word he said and she replied to, it was troublesome but manageable he supposed. "I would like to fight in the arena please." Hitoshi saw the receptionist's eyes go blank and immediately redrew his powers.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" The receptionist asked again.
Hitoshi silently cursed. He's never going to make it to the 200th floor if he can't even get past reception, everytime he releases a victim from his control part of their memory gets erased, it's only ever a few seconds and then the amount of time the victim was under his control; those few seconds erased him from her mind completely as their conversation had only been a few seconds. He took out a pen and notepad he had put in his pocket before leaving Hisoka's room that morning in case something like this happened.
He wrote 'I would like to fight in the arena please. I'm afraid I've lost my voice for the time being.' and showed it to her.
"Oh! I'm sorry about your voice but you can totally sign up!"
The receptionist handed Hitoshi a form basically stating that he can't sue heavens arena for any injuries received and all that. Hitoshi signed it.
"Your number is 1309, your first fight should be getting called quite soon. After the first floor you will have a certain time frame in which you have to fight someone or you'll have to restart from the bottom. 90% of people pass the first floor within 1-3 tries, good luck!"
Hitoshi bowed his head slightly in thanks and went to sit on a bench waiting for his number to get called.
"Numbers 1309 and 1287 to arena C please!"
Hitoshi reluctantly got up from his seated position and walked over to section C of floor one. He was about to have his first fight in the heavens arena and was rather excited. It had been a month since his last patrol back in his world so he was a little rusty, but he would get better soon enough.
Hitoshi was surprised. The big muscly guy he was fighting.. Was super weak. The person standing in front of him, taunting him was no stronger than a regular high schooler. He may look big and strong but any highschooler who's been in a street fight or watched hero's fight villains could easily beat this guy without the usage of a quirk.
Hitoshi realized he might have given the people of this world too much credit. The regular people, civilians as Hitoshi would call them, can't use nen. If this is the best this arena can offer until he gets to the 200th floor he should have no problems.
Maybe he should try to impress the referee to get to a higher floor quicker. Nah, too much work, he'll just finish this in one kick and go to sleep, he's been doing that a lot lately. He usually can't fall asleep at all at night, and he's always out late on patrols, or was. But he's had no real issues sleeping here, must be all his sleepless nights finally catching up to him.
The moment the referee brought his hand down to start the match, Hitoshi was already behind his opponent, his foot aiming for the man's face. His foot connected and the man went flying out of the ring.
Here's a little fun fact about Hitoshi, he was ranked 4rth best hero in the top ten 2 years ago and still was until his 'death'. Don't ask him how he managed that, he doesn't really know. He was far from weak, but he wasn't strong enough to survive among those with power in this world. So what will he do? He will train of course, he will train until he reaches Hisoka and Illumi's level, then he will train some more.
"Winner is Shinsou!" The referee said, "Here, please proceed to the 100th floor." The referee passed Hitoshi a ticket. He nodded in thanks and left for the 100th floor.
Elsewhere in the arena, two men wearing peculiar outfits were sitting (read cuddling) on a couch on the 200th floor. They were staring at a tv switched to the first floor channel to watch their little kittens first match.
These two men were Illumi and Hisoka, both were rather surprised, their little kitten was much stronger than they thought, and fast. Not as fast as them yet, but he soon will be, in a few months.
They switched off the tv when the match finished and smiled, well one of them did, the other's lip only twitched a little.
Thoughts?
Next chapter will have timeskips and different POV's (Maybe) until we reach the start of the hunter exam (2011 anime)
