Chapter 5
Lots of time skips to finally hit the hunter exam next chapter
Third POV
Floor 100
Floor 100 was just as easy to pass as floor one. Hitoshi sent his opponent flying with one kick to the face.
Floor 150
Hitoshi delivered his face kick once again on the 150th floor. People were a little shocked at this random person who had appeared out of nowhere on floor one 5 days ago. Hitoshi was starting to gain a small fanbase of people who wanted to see him fight stronger opponents. He himself was surprised at how easy it was to pass the floors he had been on so far.
Floor 180
Hitoshi actually needed to put more power in his kick at this point, he had beaten his opponent of course, it just required more effort, and a kick to the chest right after the kick to the head.
Floor 190
Hitoshi had been in the arena fighting for 3 weeks, he had regularly taken a few days to rest. Sleeping was starting to get harder again so he chugged coffee every morning to stay awake. He supposed he should be grateful he had gotten a normal amount of sleep before he started fighting.
Hold up- He was sleeping totally fine during the time period he wasn't training or fighting and hadn't overused his quirk. Hitoshi smacked his hand up to his forehead. Shouldn't he be getting more sleep after training and fighting not less?
He sighed, he'll have to use all the money he'd earned up to this point on coffee. He really thought his sleeping issues had been because of all the trauma and hate he's received from people throughout his life. No one had given him any shit here yet, no one other than Hisoka and Illumi knew about his powers and they didn't shame him for having a 'villainous' quirk. They were villains themselves he supposed. He sighed again, he supposed it didn't really matter why he had sleeping issues, just that he did.
Hitoshi walked to the arena as soon as his name was called (people knew him by name now not just by number) He looked his opponent up and down, his opponent was a woman. She was around 5'7 and was built like a track athlete. Hitoshi wasn't dumb enough to underestimate anyone who'd almost reached the 200th floor so he studied her body language and waited for her to attack first.
She seemed rather angry at him. "Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked, if Hitoshi didn't know any better he'd have thought she just wanted to know for the hell of it, not to have a reason to be mad and kill him.
Hitoshi pointed at his neck then his mouth and made an 'x' shape with his arms.
"You're mute?" She asked, she seemed a little surprised.
Hitoshi nodded in response.
"Well, it doesn't matter."
Hitoshi stared at her, why ask if it doesn't matter? He tilted his head in confusion.
He watched her right foot move slightly and immediately rolled to the left. He turned around and saw she was standing in the exact position he had been not a moment before. 'Superspeed' he thought. It feels like nen, she probably lost one too many times on the 200th and had to start from the bottom again.
Hitoshi POV
I could beat her if I had my capture tape, but I don't. I really should try to get a replacement for that. I could use my quirk but I don't want to reveal I have that yet.
If I'm lucky the concept is similar to that of Tenya Iida's quirk and requires the legs. If I'm unlucky this is some kind of teleportation or something. Might as well break her legs just to be sure.
I'm not fast enough to compete with superspeed but I'm faster than the average person, and it seems like her nen has a cooldown period, she's been standing in the same spot staring at me for the past minute. She must not have thought anyone on this floor would be able to dodge her and used her ability right off the bat.
I grinned, that rookie mistake was gonna cost her this fight. I ran at her frozen form and delivered a kick to her kneecap and another to her shin. I could've gone for a nicer break but I needed to be sure her leg wouldn't be able to heal fast if she has some kind of accelerated healing as a side effect of super speed or something.
She screamed.
That was to be expected of course, but she was straight up crying and screaming, has she never broken anything before? Hard to believe in a place like this.
She collapsed on the ground clutching her leg. I would be lying if I said I felt bad. She was rather arrogant and deserved it, a mistake like the one she made (underestimating her opponent) would've cost her her life in the real world.
Ending up in this world has changed me a little, I no longer have to be a hero and be good, I might as well have some fun. Though I honestly think this is Illumi and Hisoka rubbing off on me, I could in fact feel Hisoka's spike in emotion and nen when the girl charged at insane speeds and when I broke her leg and she started screaming and crying in pain.
Yeah, I definitely blame Hisoka for my new sorta sadistic tendencies, I mean I enjoyed seeing her on the ground in pain and I enjoyed hearing her bones crack. Yeah, it's definitely Hisoka's fault.
Floor 200
Third POV
"So you finally made it." Illumi said the moment Hitoshi stepped out of the elevator.
Hitoshi nodded.
Illumi tilted his head in confusion.
"Illumi dear~ everyone here thinks he's mute, why would he give you a verbal response~?"
Illumi slowly nodded his head in acceptance. "It's time to start training you then." He said.
"Go register at the desk Hi-to-shi~" Hisoka said, it was the first time Hisoka had called Hitoshi by his given name and not by 'kitten'.
Hitoshi nodded and went to register.
"My first fight up here is tonight." Hitoshi stated once the three of them were in Hisoka's room.
"Well then, I suppose we could open your aura nodes the more dangerous way to prepare you a little~ . though you've already beaten a nen user."
"How curious~." Hisoka said after a few seconds of aiming nen at Hitoshi. "You seem to already have them unlocked."
"It's probably my quirk. I can see and feel nen now, after fighting here for a while; and I can enhance my physical capabilities a little using it."
"Quirk? Is that what your ability is called~ ?"
"Yeah."
"Then we'll simply train your physical abilities, I could probably show you a thing or two." Illumi said, finally joining the conversation.
The next few months were spent training. Illumi left the two every few days for jobs.
Hitoshi could proudly say he could hold his own in a no-nen/quirk and no-weapons fight against Illumi or Hisoka with almost no issue (Illumi likes to randomly sneak attack him). And in a nen/quirk and weapons fight fairly well but because they aren't affected by his ability, and in turn he isn't affected by Illumi's manipulating (what do you know, Illumi can control people as well, though he needs a conductor to do it), and Hisoka's bungee gum doesn't stick to him, they like to throw needles and cards at him instead (he's never had so many paper cuts at the same time in his entire life before).
Hitoshi learned how to use guns, turns out he was an extremely fast learner. He was a great sniper, and had impeccable aim with a twin pair of hand guns.
He trained his quirk and even spat up blood a few times from over-using it. He didn't mind much though, his quirk had gotten much stronger, he still couldn't turn it off unfortunately (he doubts it's even possible anymore) he stopped being able to turn it off when he became a pro, as it had gotten much stronger than his high school days.
Hitoshi still fought in the arena, his only loss was due to not showing up (Illumi dragged him on a job randomly a few days before his scheduled fight) he only used his quirk in a fight once, against some guy named Kastro, the audience thought his nen ability made people dance themselves to unconsciousness. Hisoka thought it was hilarious.
Hisoka and Illumi had decided they were going to take this year's hunter exam, and practically ordered Hitoshi to come along. He didn't argue with them.
So there they were, the three of them standing outside some shabby restaurant.
"I'll go in first~." Hisoka said.
The three of them had agreed it was best not to be seen entering together.
"I'll go in second." Hitoshi stated.
"That leaves me with third." Illumi said, melting into the shadows of a nearby alley and disappearing.
Hitoshi simply went to the nearest coffee shop and ordered 5 coffee's in the largest size possible.
Thoughts?
