Any requests? I'm running out of ideas, if you want Hitoshi to interact more with a character or something else please comment.

Hitoshi POV
-Timeskip- The Fourth Phase is over-
"The Fourth Phase is now officially over."
"Illu." I poked him, "We gotta go, get us out of this hole."
"Hn." Illumi grabbed me and jumped out of the hole, through the dirt on top of us.
"For all remaining applicants, please return to the starting point as soon as possible. You will be given one more hour to make your way back."
"Let's go." I said, starting to walk away.
"Wait."
He came up to me and gave me a hug. "What are you doing?" I asked.
"I believe it's called a hug."
"Yeah, I know that, but why?"
"You always spend so much time with Hisoka, I never get you all to myself." He rested his face in my hair.
"We spent 6 days in a hole together." I said. He ignored me.
"You're coming home with me after the exam." He mumbled.
I sighed quietly. A change of scenery wouldn't be horrible, one can only stare at Heavens arena's walls for so long. "Okay." I said softly. He hugged me tighter then suddenly let go and ran off in the direction of the boat. I assume he'll replace his disguise somewhere on the way.
I suppose I'm meeting the Zoldycks when this exam is over. I waited a few more minutes then ran in the general direction of the starting point.
I broke out of the forest line and came to a stop among the remaining applicants. The coral haired lady from the boat came to greet us, "Now, we will check the badges of everyone present here." The lady then proceeded to call everyones name and have them show their badges. I showed mine when my name was called.
Gon and his troupe arrived with barely any time left. Killua and Gon had a little moment, they both held up a thumb in greeting. Gon then turned towards me with a slightly confused expression. He almost looked like he wanted to come over here and ask me something. The lady continued to talk before he could though, "Now, the last three. They are, Number 404, Mr. Kurapika. Number 403, Mr. Leorio. And Number 405, Mr. Gon. These 10 applicants have passed the Fourth Phase of the Exam!"
-+-On the Airship-+-
I flopped face down onto a bed in one of the rooms. I spent 6 days in a small space, my muscles and joints were in pain. The running I did after did not help at all. I groaned quietly. "Illu~ can you crack my back please?" I mumbled into the sheets.
I heard light footsteps- presumably Illumi's- approach the bed I was dying on. I felt hands on my back slowly apply pressure, I heard (and felt) the satisfactory crack in my back. I sighed contently. "Better?" Illumi asked.
"Yeah, thanks Illu." I mumbled.
"Attention, all applicants." I exhaled. I slowly pushed off the bed and sat on it, listening to the announcement. "The Chairman wishes to interview you. When you hear your number, please come to the reception room on the second floor for the interview. We'll start with number 44, Mr. Hisoka. Thank you for your cooperation."
I gave Hisoka a small wave as he left the room. If he calls us in the order we left the Tower from, I'm going to be here a while.
"Number 98, Mr. Shinsou."
I moved away from the window I had been staring out of for the past ten minutes, and made my way over to the reception room on the second floor. I knocked on the door when I got there and opened it after I heard an 'enter'. "Ah, Shinsou, it's good to see you again, sit, sit."
I sat down across from him and he began asking me questions, "So, let's begin, why do you want to become a Hunter?"
I pulled out my phone and started to type. When I finished I showed him my message.
I don't really have a reason, for fun I guess.
"I see, I see, one would almost assume you didn't have a choice in the matter, with that pretty little thing around your neck." He gestured to the collar still around my neck.
I told you before, and I'll tell you again I don't need saving, mind your business.
"Right, right if you say so, next question out of the other 9 applicants, which one do you keep your eyes on the most?"
405, 404, 403, 99.
"Why?"
They remind me of people I used to know.
"I see, then one last question, out of the other 9 applicants, which one would you least like to fight?"
405.
"Hm, thank you very much, that'll be all. Good day Shinsou."
I inclined my head slightly and walked out the door. I sighed. This exam is mentally taxing, the next phase is probably going to be some kind of fight.
"Did you all rest well?" Netero asked the 10 applicants standing in the room, "This is the hotel run by the committee. Before the competition ends, you can make yourselves at home. And for the final phase, all ten of you will have a one-on-one tournament."
An employee wheeled over a bracket.
"Does that mean only the one who wins the last round will become a hunter?" Leorio asked.
"No." Netero responded, "You only need one win to qualify."
"Just one?" Gon said, surprised.
"Wait, so in this tournament…" Leorio trailed off.
"The winners will drop away, and the losers will advance to the next round. Do you understand now?"
"You're saying that only one person will fail the exam?" The stupid wanna-be ninja asked. Yeah, along with the 400 (or so) others who dropped out (or are dead).
"Exactly. Here is the bracket we've put together." Netero peeled off the sticker covering the pictures.
Huh, so some people get more chances than others to pass. Interesting, I'll admit I haven't done anything noteworthy during this exam. I was the sole applicant to pass the cooking phase the first time, but I also spent 6 days in a hole in the ground doing nothing. The other applicants continued asking questions for a little while. Killua was making a fuss, Gon looked excited, Kurapika seemed to have accepted his fate and Leorio was giving Kurapika an empathetic look. Hisoka's face didn't reveal any emotions, though I could tell he was excited, if only a little. Illumi's face was stuck in Gittarakur's weird grin, but was otherwise expressionless.
"Let the Final Phase of the exam begin!"
(A/N hi I'm not going to write out all the fight scenes, sorry [you can always rewatch the anime or something]. I'll give you a little recap:
Hanzo vs Gon - Gon wins
Kurapika vs Hisoka - Kurapika wins
Hanzo vs Pokkle - Hanzo wins
Hisoka vs Bodoro - Hisoka wins
Pokkle vs Killua - Pokkle wins
We resume at the beginning of Killua and Gittarakur's fight.)
Killua and Gitta-Illu were standing in front of each other. This is going to be interesting. Killua started to slowly walk towards Gitta-Illu. At the moment Killua has no chance of beating his older brother.
"It's been a while, Kil." Gitta-Illu said, halting Killua in his tracks. Gitta-Illu moved his hand up to his face and started pulling out his needles. I looked over at Killua's reaction to seeing his now-revealed older brother, he looked absolutely terrified. Ha, as he should be.
"Big brother…" Killua whispered. The 'mighty' assassin reduced to a terrified sweating mess, what a sight.
"Hey."
This fight is going to be extremely one-sided, probably even boring. I moved from my spot near the wall over to Hisoka's. I leant my head against his shoulder and yawned. "Tired?" he asked. I shrugged.
"I heard you stabbed Mom and Milluki." Illumi started.
"Guess so."
"Mom couldn't stop crying." Illumi tilted his head, "She was just so happy. She was delighted to see that her son had finally grown up. But she was worried about you leaving home, so she asked me to check on you. What a coincidence. I didn't know you wanted to be a Hunter. I'm trying to get a Hunter Licence for my next job."
"I don't really want to be a hunter, I just felt like taking the exam." Killua explained.
"I see… That's a relief. Then, I have some advice for you." Illumi's aura darkened. "You're not cut out to be a Hunter. You were born to be…an assassin. You're a puppet of darkness, without passion. You don't want anything or wish for anything. As someone who lives in the shadows, you can only feel pleasure when people die. That's how dad and I raised you. What would you accomplish by becoming a Hunter?"
What a great and super inspirational speech. There was this really old anime back in my world. The captain guy in it said 'Give up on your dreams and die' or something like that. Well, in this case it'd be 'give up on your dreams and kill' but same difference. Great older-brothering(?) Illumi, absolutely fantastic.
While I was off trying to recall an ancient anime Killua started shouting. "Wrong! There's something that I really want!"
"Hm, enlighten me, what is it that you want?" Killua remained silent. "What's the matter? There's nothing you really want, is there?"
"There is! I… I want to be friends with Gon." Killua said, "I'm sick of killing people. I want to be friends with Gon. And just have fun."
"That's impossible. You'll never be able to make friends. The only thing that you can do is discern whether or not you can kill them. That is how you were trained. Gon has such a radiant personality that you don't know how to classify him. You don't actually desire his friendship."
"You're wrong." Killua denied.
I sighed softly, this is boring. I started looking around at the other applicants. Kurapika had mixed emotions painted on their faces. Leorio was up in some security guy's face. Hisoka was indifferent. The other applicants all had small frowns gracing their features.
"Fine then I'll just kill Gon."
I snapped my attention back to Illumi. I felt Hisoka stir next to me. He seemed unhappy, at least according to the warning he just sent through our connection. Illumi shot us a side glance. The two fools I have emotionally connected to myself are going at it again. A battle of muted thoughts and feelings only we can feel. They're as expressionless as ever on the outside, not even engaging in eye-contact, yet are raging up a storm. I sent them a strong wave of annoyance, to hopefully get them to quit it. They can go at each other later for all I care. All the while this internal battle was going on Illumi was still talking, talk about multi-tasking.
Illumi started to walk towards the exit. Illumi threw needles into a security guy's face, asked a question and kept walking.
I closed my eyes and leant back against the wall. Illumi and Hisoka were still going at it. The only feelings blasting through the connection being intent and aggravation.
Then suddenly all feelings were gone. Illumi must have said something to resolve the issue.
Illumi walked away from Killua and over to me. "I got you a little something, Hitoshi." He pulled a tag out of his jacket. "It's for your collar." I sent him a wave of disbelief. "One side says Illumi and the other Hisoka, now if you ever get lost everyone will know who you belong to." He attached the tag to the collar and blinked.
He then moved to stand next to me. Kurapika looked shocked, which was a given. Killua was still staring at the floor. Leorio also looked shocked. Netero brushed his beard and gave a knowing(?) smile.
I propped my forehead up against Illumi's shoulder. Hisoka did say Illumi would 'claim me'. I guess this is what he meant.
(A/N to finish the fights:
Bodoro vs Leorio: Killua loses)
Thoughts?
