IT'S CHANGED (SNILY)
CHAPTER 26 She'll be there
Severus wasn't on his bed, like he had the entire passed week. McGonagall had allowed him and Lily to stay at the Evans' for almost a week or until he deemed himself fit to come back. She knew he wouldn't take long before he joined them back.
Lily had never left his side for this whole week. She stayed there giving him a comforting hand all the time. She even sat there beside him, a hand playing absentmindedly with his hair and another on his arm, while he slept or stared in space. She just let him know that he wasn't alone. She would always be there for him. Always. He had with every passing day just felt how much more and more he was coming to respect and love her. She was the one who urged him to eat and sleep but let him grieve.
He didn't do anything other than stare in space, thinking about nothing. Feeling numb and empty. Realizing that a part of his heart had died. He had never imagined his life without her mother. But he had not given another thought to his father's death. He simply didn't care. He didn't shed a single tear on the wretch, he was compiled to call a father.
Though, he didn't want to lose her mother. But he understood that, that wouldn't happen, now and he had to move on. That space where she was in his heart would remain silent and cold but her memories would make it warm and loving. There were more people whom he loved and who… loved him back. He never knew he would be able to do that. Not at least in this life time. But he realized it wasn't that difficult.
Tears filled his eyes again, but he wiped them away and looked in the mirror. His image staring back at him. He touched his hair, just like his mother's. His chin, just like hers. The cheek bones, his fingers, his nails, the boney elbows. He had never noticed he looked so much like his mother. She was always there with him. Inside him. In every cell of him. In his magic. He smiled. She never left him, was just out of view.
He had showered today, without Lily begging him to do things for her. He was surprised to realize that she wasn't sick of him being such a laze for the entire week. She kept him together and strong. He smiled and returned to his room where Lily was sleeping, sitting, her head resting on the headboard. She looked beautiful. She had slept like that for an entire week. Didn't she get those stiff neck muscles? What else had she done for him that he hadn't noticed yet?
He gave her a little shake to her shoulder. She stirred and mumbled something incoherently before jerking up and keeping a hand on her side of the bed.
"Severus!" she said in alarm.
"I am here" he spoke.
She looked up, grabbed his hand and started checking for any symptoms of sickness in his eyes or for fever on the forehead. "Are you alright? Feeling sick? Or are you hungry? Anything? What happened?"
Severus smiled and before he could think what he was doing he kissed her cheek. "I am fine"
"Oh?" she flushed under the sweet touch. He had never kissed her before. "Then what is it?"
"What? I am fine and am thinking of making something Indian" he kept smiling. Her face just made him do that even more.
"Severus, are you actually alright?" she asked again.
"No"
"What happened, then?" she asked anxiously.
"My best friend has stopped calling me the way she called before"
Lily smacked his arm. She understood that he was feeling more himself again. "Okay, Sev" she yawned then. "It's five in the morning, Sev"
"So what? Has time ever mattered to us?" he shrugged cheekily.
She laughed. "Never" she took him by his arm and glided to the kitchen.
"Now, we need to be quiet because the others are sleeping" Severus whispered.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Obviously"
"Pass me that, Lily" he requested.
Lily picked up the flour and slid it towards him, spilling it on the workplace. "Damn!"
Severus hung his head back and then looked at Lily with tired eyes. "Now, we'll have to knead the dough on the platform"
Lily shrugged. "So, what's the problem?"
"Lily! That's going to make a huge mess, and I know you are definitely not going to clean it. So, obviously, it's more work for me"
Lily gave a sly smirk. "What do you Petunia is for?"
Mischief danced in Severus' eyes. "Well… fine idea"
"See" Lily held her chin up and poured some milk on the workplace.
Severus pulled her hands away. "You are not doing it… go do something else"
Lily shook her head, resolutely. "I am doing it"
He huffed. "Fine" he champed his hands in the milked flour too.
"Do you actually think four hands are necessary?" Lily rolled her eyes.
"Uh huh" he nodded.
They began stupidly just rolling the flour from one side to the other. Both of them kept huffing but none backing down. And well… Lily took it as an opportunity to tease him again. She smirked and bent down a little to slide between Severus arms so, that she stood with her back to his chest.
"Lily… what?" he was confused.
She shrugged. "It's just easier this way, isn't it?" she didn't have look back to know he was as red as her hair now.
Severus cleared his throat. "Indeed" he rolled his hands skillfully but stiffly. Lily was standing so close to him that no one can expect him to work causally.
Lily didn't know what she was all about. She just wanted to feel his skin, all of a sudden. She ran her hands on his forearms that had the sleeves rolled up. It felt so… perfect. She only then realized the closeness between them. She never wanted to get separated or bring any distance. She took a deep breath. Cinnamons and… Coffee. That is what she smelled.+ She rolled her eyes. As if she expected any other smell from him.
Severus' hands froze the moment he felt a gentle touch on his arms. It gave him chills all till his spine.
"Lily…?"
Lily jumped as if was broken out of a deep thought and then flushed. "Ah… there was just some flour on your forearms so, I was getting it off"
Severus hummed but didn't say anything. He hadn't even asked her to explain. But she did. People do that just when they are caught in a crime.
Was Lily actually touching him the way he thought? It felt good… he had to admit. The chills were so pleasurable and more than friendly. He sighed.
Things weren't the way he thought they were. Lily had even stopped calling him Sev that much. The endearment that she had reserved for just him. Perhaps, she was just bored of him. He sighed again and dismissed the thought. He would try to be happy if she would go out with someone else. He had anyways, never expected her to be with him. It would break his heart but perhaps, they'll still remain friends. Best friends.
"Severus?" Lily called, breaking him from his thoughts.
"Yes?" he asked hoarsely.
She instantly wrapped her arms around him. "Have I ever mentioned how strong you are?"
"Lily… I-I don't understand…" he didn't get his hands around her. He couldn't bring himself to do that.
She pulled apart and smiled at him. "Somethings are not to be understood"
He frowned and shook his head. He has already trained himself in handling himself when his hopes get crushed. So, he better doesn't get them up this time.
Lily patted his cheek. "Now, on to work, Severus"
Severus. He nodded. "Yes"
They worked in peace after that. Severus giving her answers in not more than one or two words. He couldn't help but feel a little distant.
"Severus!" a surprised voice came from the doorway. Both Severus and Lily twisted their necks to see Mr. and Mrs. Evans standing with Petunia, and all of their mouths agape.
"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Evans and Petunia" Severus greeted.
They muttered their 'Good Mornings' and sat on the table.
"Are you alright, Severus?" Mrs. Evans asked.
Severus smiled and spread his hands. "Absolutely"
She ruffled his hair and kissed his forehead. "Lovely to see you like this again"
"And Severus has made the breakfast too" Mr. Evans rolled his eyes. "You come here and take over my kitchen…"
Severus cleared her throat. "Lily helped too"
Petunia waved her hand. "To make a mess"
"Hey!" Lily kept her hands on her hips. "I did help and not in making a mess"
"Lily, I can see that by…" Petunia pointed where they had spilled the flour. It was mostly cleaned but still left some of flour and milk stains.
Lily shrugged. "Accidents"
"Yeah… accidents" Petunia rolled her eyes. "So, have you both planned on returning to your school again or you are going to stay here till Christmas?"
Severus shook his head. "Perhaps, if that is fine with Lily, we can leave just today. We'll only have to floo to Dumbledore's office"
"Hmm. We can, if you are fine" Lily replied.
He nodded. "I am. It's been more than a week"
"Fine, then after breakfast we'll floo-call him, the headmaster, I mean"
They all agreed to it and later in the day, Severus and Lily stood in their school.
"Ah… Lily, Severus" Dumbledore's pleasant voice met their ears. "Nice to see you both again"
"Good afternoon, Headmaster" they both greeted.
"I hope both of you are fine"
They smiled. "Yes, headmaster"
Dumbledore nodded. "Then you both may start your classes. Have a good day"
"You too, sir. Thank you" they nodded and left through the door.

Before going to the classes, they both walked to the library, where they had expected their others friends to be. That had been their refuge for so long. The library with the Muffliato. Severus laughed mentally. He had never thought he would use the spell for keeping the loud noises in instead of keeping people from eavesdropping. He couldn't help it, when they all met it was bound to be noisy and loud.
They got to their table where unsurprisingly, all his friends were again sitting quietly. They would always do that when he wasn't there. He rolled his eyes. Cheaters.
Severus cleared his throat and all the eyes turned to him.
"Severus…" they breathed. "Lily…"
"Well, we are here" Lily smiled and took her seat with Severus.
They didn't know what to say. They probably had practiced a lot but now, nothing seemed plausible. They kept staring at Severus or the table from time to time, none saying a single word.
"Rest assured, I am not going to start crying" Severus broke the silence. "That is what I have done for an entire week"
Selene's hand clutched his and her eyes welled up. "Severus, I am sorry, only if I knew-"
"Selene" he didn't have the energy now, to calm her if she started tearing up. "You don't need to be sorry for anything, everything wrong happening at the Ministry isn't your father's thing to correct"
"Still, I am-"
"It's okay" Severus smiled, assuredly and she kissed his hand before letting it go.
Shane cleared his throat. He seemed out of words too and he knew he was going to say something awkward. "Well… nice to see you again"
Severus rolled his eyes. "Skip the pleasantries, Shane"
He sighed in relief. "Obviously" he waved his hand. "So… let's just say I am not getting a joke to crack to lighten up the moods"
They chuckled at that. "You know you are crazy, Shane" Charm gave a light shove to his shoulder.
"But doesn't Selene like such people" Shane winked.
Selene stuck her tongue out. Austin gasped. "I just took a picture of you, Selene"
Selene's eyes widened. "What? You couldn't have?"
Austin gave a smirk. "In my head"
Selene smacked his head. "Stupid"
They all laughed. Severus loved them all. He never realized when he started to.
*Page Break*
The Great Hall wasn't the place he wanted to be in. Not many people were taunting him over him not being at the school for a week but there were some insensitive souls in the school who didn't stop for anything. Perhaps, they didn't understand the meaning of grieving over someone's death. And so, they knew no bounds in giving disgusted looks and throwing insults at him. And sooner seemed a better option. He readied himself to not get furious on dunderheads or shout on the idiocies and especially not take his wand out.
"If it isn't that, the fourth champion" a Gryffindor yelled. Just like they always do. Severus ignored him.
"His ugliness is going to ruin the tournament" a girl from Gryffindor sneered. He ignored again. By far easy.
Another girl snorted. "As if he is any competition to James". He rolled his eyes. People were actually thinking they were still fighting like kids.
"A motherfucker, half-blood, useless as scum" another voice. From Ravenclaw this time. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, returning to his food.
Afroze and Mulciber who sat beside him hissed insults on the people who were speaking ill of him. What so ever the reason, the Slytherin always knew how to stick together.
Afroze suddenly banged his fist on the table, making a few, small golden sparks escape at the contact.
"What… Andrew?" Severus frowned at his sudden action.
"Just a bug" Afroze gave.
"What do you expect from the kid of a mother who fucked a muggle" another Ravenclaw.
Severus eyes sharply turned to the table; he didn't get the chance to know from where did his wand came to his hand and when did he shoot a curse in the direction of the voice. His eyes were wide with rage and his hand shaking.
"Yaxley" he hissed, not even realizing when he came up to the Ravenclaw Table, towering on him. "Don't say a word against my mother!"
The students had crowded around them.
Yaxley laughed maliciously, clutching injured hand. "Accept it yourself, Snape"
Severus leaned down and his hand went to Yaxley's neck. "You'll better know your limits, Yaxley, or else I possess many ways to instill that in your head!"
Yaxley laughed again. "What will you do, Snape? False threats, aren't they?"
Severus' hold tightened, making Yaxley gasp to breathe. "Don't forget that I have a vast knowledge of Dark Arts!" he hissed.
"Mr. Snape!"
The crowd parted to show McGonagall's furious face. "Leave him right now, Mr. Snape!" she ordered.
Severus gave Yaxley one last deadly look before leaving him and wiping his hands on his robes. Yaxley hadn't left his malicious smile yet, but he sat up straight, nursing his throat and the wounded hand.
"Care to explain, what was happening?" McGonagall demanded.
"I was just peacefully having food, Professor, when just attacked me out of nowhere" Yaxley said quickly.
Severus raised an eyebrow scornfully. "Do you actually believe, professor, that I would attack him out of nowhere?"
McGonagall pursed her lips. "So, what did he do?"
But before he could answer, another voice did that for him. "Yaxley was insulting Severus' mother, Professor"
Heads turned in the direction of the voice where stood a little wary but confident, Peter Pettigrew. Severus smirked and gave a nod to Peter.
McGonagall eyed Yaxley, who gulped. "I see, Mr. Yaxley, what unprovoked is for you. Detention to both of you"
"Detention?!" Severus didn't want that now, on top of everything.
"Yes, Mr. Snape, detention. You will be serving it with me and Mr. Yaxley with Filch on Saturday" she pronounced. "Return to your works now" she waved a hand to the crowd and then left herself.
A hand suddenly grabbed Severus' hand and pulled him out of the crowd.
"You couldn't even be left alone for a minute, could you, Severus?!" Lily's irritated voice met his ears. Oh… she was the one who pulled him out.
"Lily, he was insulting my Mum!" he shrieked.
"And you got him good?"
He held his chin high and nodded.
"Good" Lily nodded.
He shook his head. He had the coolest friends.
*Page Break*
Why did he have to tell Selene that he had been coming here for long? He wanted to know about the functioning of electric objects in magic and later show see her impressed and bewildered face after making something. But now, he couldn't because she was learning it with him.
And Bennet- Severus groaned- was trying to flaunt each and every achievement in the invention to Selene. Even the smallest ones. He thought he could impress her by this? Severus laughed mentally. Did Bennet not know she was with Shane, already?
"What's that, Bennet?" Selene asked curiously, pointing on the screen of the laptop.
Bennet held her finger away from the screen. "You don't press the screen like that, Selene. That will ruin it"
"Oh… okay, but what is it?"
"That is from where we can see the satellite version of Earth. Kind of a map" he explained.
"How to get into it?"
"You need to tap on it"
"But you just said that we mustn't touch the screen" Selene huffed.
Bennet shook his head. "No, Selene, you need to tap with the arrow, not by your hand"
"Oh…" she flushed and Severus was trying hard to suppress a snicker.
The window opened as Severus and Selene gasped. The map that opened was of a building that could be seen so closely that even the people's faces were recognizable. This thing was so… crazily amazing.
"Can we see something else?" Severus asked, eagerly.
"Yes, just write it in the top right corner box" Bennet supplied. "And you need to type, please, don't bring out a quill, Selene"
Selene rolled her eyes and took the laptop in her lap away from Bennet. Severus came closer to peer into it, pushing Bennet away, who after making an irritated noise in his throat left them alone.
"Write the address of my home" Selene asked Severus.
He shook his head. "That's magically concealed. It wouldn't appear"
Selene slouched. "Then Lily's house?"
"Yeah, perhaps" he shrugged and wrote it. And actually, Lily's house appeared clear on the screen.
"Wow…" Selene breathed.
"Do you think we can zoom out a little?" Severus tried to minimize the maps. Instead of a house now, it showed the entire town and then a larger are than that.
"Little Hangleton?!" Selene shrieked before slapping her hand on her mouth. "There it is" she pointed on the screen.
Severus just did what she said and zoomed in the houses that were visible there.
They saw the Riddle House.
Their breaths froze in their throats. This was the place where the Riddles were murdered. And then their hearts skipped several beats looking at the very near territory of the house.
The Gaunt House.
They both looked at each other and nodded. Severus zoomed in the Gaunt house with his shaky hands. The place wasn't maintained at all. It was withered. The dried grass so long that it came till almost one-fourth of a wall with also snow jammed up in places. The walls themselves were falling out.
Selene instinctively took her wand out and swished it, getting a very similar copy of the house on a parchment in her hand. She silently placed it in her robes and cleared her throat.
Bennet who was searching for something in his trunk looked up.
"Bennet, I and Severus have some work to do, we'll come to you later" Selene said pleasantly, though his face was an entirely different story. "Thank you for your help, though"
Bennet looked disappointed at her going so soon, nevertheless he nodded back.
Severus and Selene scrambled up to their feet and raced out to tell what they found to the other friends of them.
*Page Break*
All of them stared at the picture that was kept steady on the table between them. They all examined the house and scrunched their noses at the condition of the place.
"So, this is the Gaunt House?" Lily said in a disgusted tone, pointing at the picture.
"Well, yes. We certainly weren't lying earlier" Severus rolled his eyes.
Lily shot him a glare. "Keep your sarcasm with yourself, Severus. I asked because I have seen the Longbottom manor which looks so grand, so, this pureblood house is just a little disbelieving"
"They were too arrogant to work, Lily" Selene said, distractedly.
"She is calling me Severus again" Severus muttered, slumping on the table. The others rolled their eyes, while Lily hadn't even heard him.
"So, would you tell what plan are you thinking of?" Charm spoke, eying the nearby table suspiciously where Elias sat.
"It's about the horcruxes" Austin stated.
"Yes" Severus nodded. "Which ones are left to be destroyed?"
"The ring and the locket" Shane prompted rubbing his chin.
"Both of them are the family heirlooms of the Gaunts" Lily said.
"One of which can be hidden here" Selene deduced.
"I believe that too" Austin leaned on the table. "Because why would someone go into this house and so, it will always remain safe"
"But we being abnormal in every sense, will search the place. YAY" Severus slumped back.
That earned his several hits on the ribs and the shoulder.
"Oww… what?" He nursed his shoulder.
"Don't be such a spoil sport, Severus" Charm rolled her eyes. "We can explore the place"
"Yeah… I have never played that game when I was young" Selene looked excited.
"There are going to curses, fools" Severus banged on the table.
"So, we are going to take you, Severus" Shane said in a sing-a-song tone.
"Am I coming there just to remove the curses?"
"No, you'll be allowed to clean the place too, Sev" Lily said in mock-seriousness.
He rolled his eyes.
*Page Break*
Detention. He groaned. Why? Only if he wouldn't have lost his temper. But Yaxley deserved it. Yes. He threw the cloth, that he was wiping the shelf with a little forcefully.
"Mr. Snape" McGonagall chided.
"Sorry, Ma'am" he apologized automatically.
"You are not here to break anything" McGonagall pursed her lips. "Or you'll earn another detention"
"Sorry, Ma'am" he repeated.
McGonagall eyed him for a few moments and then cleared her throat, earning his attention.
"Leave that cloth there, Severus and come sit here" she pointed on the chair in front of her table.
She used the first name, Severus noticed. The thing is something serious. He obeyed.
She cleared her throat again and he patiently waited for her to start speaking. "You have actually not put your name in the Goblet of Fire, Severus?"
Severus huffed in irritation. "No. I haven't" he said without any emotion in his voice.
"You know, if you have any means to do it, it will be caught sooner or later?" she eyed him warningly.
"I am aware but my statement still doesn't change" he pronounced.
McGonagall nodded. "Then, whom do think have done that? Any of my Gryffindors?"
Severus shook his head. He knew which Gryffindors she was talking about, the one he had truce with, now. They certainly wouldn't have done that. But one other name popped in his mind. "I don't know if I must voice out my suspicions"
"Severus, whatever you discuss with me wouldn't escape the confines of my office" she assured.
He looked down, trying to deduce if he must say anything. "P-Professor Raquel" he said in a tiny voice.
McGonagall's eyes widened. "A staff member would never do that, Severus"
He shrugged. "I think"
"What makes you think that?"
"May I not say that?"
McGonagall nodded. "Very well. Return to your work" she looked thoughtful.
Severus got up and went to clean the window he was about to before the professor had called him.
Detentions were so boring. And this one certainly was. Cleaning the shelves and the windows. Boring windows. He looked out. What was new?
He strangled a gasp. It was new… and interesting.
Hagrid and Madam Maxime were whispering something in each other's ears. But what? They were pointing towards the Forbidden Forest while they spoke. Curiosity would have killed him. It was something more than their romantic hisses. It seemed secretive though.
"Mr. Snape" McGonagall called out after a while and he turned. "It's past curfew. Take this note and get back to your dormitory" she held a piece of parchment out and he took it.
"Thank you, professor" he said and at her approval left to make a very new adventure.
Reaching the doors of the castle wasn't difficult. He had the note. He smirked at that and pocketed it for a later use of it that evening. McGonagall forgot to mention the specific time. Good for him.
He saw Madam Maxime and Hagrid walking in the Forest. Damn. He forgot the invisibility cloak. But he could still live without an invisibility cloak. Yes.
They just walked and walked for a few minutes. Should he just leave the two in their moonlight stroll? He shook his head. Perhaps, a little more and he'll get the thing.
He heard some sly footsteps. He turned around. Nothing. His imagination, probably. The footsteps again. He turned very softly and saw two grey eyes staring back at him. His breath froze in his chest for a moment before he realized it was just a dog. He smiled at his stupidity. He reached out a hand and patted the dog on his head.
"Stay hush, dog" he instructed the dog, that looked as if was laughing at him. He frowned. "Do you sense something wrong?"
The dog shook his head as if in denial. Severus sighed in relief.
"Now, I'll have to see something, so, I'll see you later"
He started walking away from the dog and towards the direction of Hagrid and Madam Maxime but the dog followed his back. He rolled his eyes. Stupid dogs.
He kept on following Hagrid and Madam Maxime when he heard some voices. Yells. Of humans. Where? He had to view through the small places between the trees and the plants when he noticed that there were more humans nearby. His breath froze in his throat after hearing an ear-piercing scream.
Dragons. What the fuck are they doing here?
Then his eyes grew wide in realization. It was so obvious. They were for the Triwizard Tournament. They were about to face dragons in the first task? He grabbed his hair and tried to calm his breath. There were four enormous, vicious looking dragons. Different for each champion then. People have certainly gone senile if they were about to bring this…
The dog almost fell behind after having a single look of the scene playing before him. Severus chuckled, despite of himself. The dog growled at him and soon he wasn't there, instead Sirius Black with his handsome features was straightening his limbs.
Severus' eyes widened. "How had I not suspected?" he breathed.
Sirius looked at him and winked. "You haven't seen me earlier, that is why, because after it is impossible to mistake me"
Severus huffed. "So, you were following me?"
"No. We looked out of the window and saw the giant love birds looking suspicious and then we saw you running behind them. That got me curious and I had to come"
"I came here for the same reason and now I found out that…"
"That the first task is going to have dragons?" Sirius guessed.
He nodded. "Yes. Because I believe the Ministry has just bet on killing us"
They heard a rumble all of a sudden from behind them and they shifted to a corner.
"What do you think was that?" Sirius asked.
"Probably…" he gasped. "That's Karkaroff" he was able to recognize just after the fur coat came into view.
Sirius craned his neck to see. "Yeah… cheater. Must go and tell about the dragons to his champion, of course"
Severus snorted. "And what will you do, Black, after returning from here?"
Sirius cleared his throat. "Friends can do that. Headmasters must play fair"
"Well, now, everything is fair because me and Potter know about the task, Maxime would tell Amedee and Karkaroff would run to Fidanka"
"Yeah… right" Sirius conceded.
"Come on, Black, we need to get out of here before being discovered" Severus began walking down the forest, away from Karkaroff and the others. Sirius followed him, rolling his eyes.
"What do you think will be the task?" Sirius tried to end the boring silence.
"How am I supposed to know? But to the most obvious guess, we'll have to get past them" Severus guessed.
"One dragon for each. Obviously, they wouldn't be shoving four on one" Sirius said causally, before pausing and thinking about what he said. Severus seemed to haven't noticed the statement. "Severus?"
"What, Black?"
"I-I apologize"
Severus paused. "You have already done that" he dismissed it.
"No. For everything this time. Not just the Whomping Willow thing" he seemed ashamed for the past.
"Fine. Apology accepted"
Sirius looked straight in his eyes and reached out a hand to stop him from walking. "Wait! I am genuinely sorry. I know I behaved like a spoilt Pureblood brat. We all did but shouldn't have. I am sorry"
"So, I said, apology accepted, Black"
"You are not saying that from the heart. You are just mentioning it" Sirius pointed out.
Severus shook his head. "If I weren't then I weren't be having a stroll with you out here just like you always do with your friends"
"You actually forgive me. I mean, really real"
Severus glared at him. "Yes, Black, yes, or do you need a written note"
Sirius laughed. "How did I never notice your sense of humor?"
"I don't even have one, Black" Severus rolled his eyes.
"Oh, you do. And you know what? Parkinson looks pretty cool" Sirius winked.
Severus gave him a weird look. "Are you sure about it? Lupin seems just fine"
Sirius turned red. "I was talking about you not me, stupid"
Severus laughed. "I already am in- I mean- never mind…"
It was Sirius' turn to laugh. "I know, I know… let's just hope our await ends soon, mate"
"Mate? Don't tell we are going to do the punch thing too?" Severus narrowed his eyes.
Sirius brought a fist in front of him, that Severus banged with his own, chuckling and shaking his head.
"Wasn't that cool" Sirius squeaked.
"We need to get to our dormitories back, Black"
"Yeah… the last thing to do after sneaking out is the most boring" Sirius quivered his lips.
"Faster, Black" he called out.
"Do you want to race till the castle?" Sirius challenged.
Severus smirked. "I have longer legs"
"Challenge accepted"
And they broke into a run till the castle doors.
