The team arrived back with the group and Katsuki got dogpiled by Eevee and Izuku, causing him to flush red at the public affection. "Oi, fluff heads, get off me!" He yelled, and the others were laughing at the vulnerable display.
"Sorry, Kacchan." Izuku laughed before looking serious. "How is your arm?" Izuku asked and removed the glove from Katsuki's left hand. He could see a bruise right in the middle of it, and he grimaced. "That looks painful."
"Fuck, it hurts like hell, but I didn't think it would create a mark this nasty,," Katsuki muttered and flinched as he tried to make a fist. At least he was regaining feeling in his arm, but the strength is still shit.
"The hand is one of the most sensitive areas, so the bruising of that color and size is to be expected." Aurora said and she chuckled nervously under the blonde's gaze. "You will be back to normal in another hour, but the bruising will need to heal naturally."
"Miss Aurora, we should get you to Recovery Girl. Your arm-" Tokoyami started but the Dragoness cut him off.
"Awww, I'll be fine! I want to watch the rest of the training!" Aurora tried to waive off with her other hand and gave the signature smile. "It doesn't hurt as much so I can wait until later."
Katsuki deadpanned and walked toward the dragon-scaled teen and gave her forearm a flick. The reaction was instant as she flinched and squeaked in pain, then gave the explosive blonde an angry whine.
"You can wait, my ass. You just took a blast that equals 1 ton of TNT, we need to make sure none of your arteries are nicked or have any severe broken bones." Katsuki glared at her, trying to break her stubbornness. "My first blast broke my arm in 4 places and I couldn't feel my right hand for a month. You Dragneel may be tough, but there is so much you can ignore. This is not one of them."
Aurora was about to argue against the pomeranian but she instead squeaked again when Katsuki picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. "Hey, put me down baka! I said I was fine!"
"Either you come quietly or I'll drag you by your tail, Scales! Your choice!"
"Don't you dare touch my tai-eeep!" Aurora became still as he touched the base of her tail, and like a cat, became immobilized. Katsuki smirked in triumph and carried her out of the room. He knew exactly where to press as he had to do that to Eevee when she wouldn't calm down a few months ago. "Featherbrain, let's go, we need to make sure you are ok after that shockwave, and to keep Scales in check."
"I agree, Dark Shadow is quite shaken." Tokoyami replied and his feathers ruffled unconsciously. "For more reasons than one."
Iida walked in and everyone else was asking if he was alright as well. "I am fine, I was away from the situation." He said, then looked down in frustration. "However, this is the second time I watched a student get hurt. How am I supposed to be a Hero if I can't help?"
Eevee looked surprised at the change from the Iida at the exam. "You aren't a Hero yet, Ro-Iida. We are here to become one, and sometimes we may have to deviate outside of what we originally learned from home to see the real world."
Iida looked at the Eevette and contemplated her words. "Thank you, and I will work hard to break my original barriers. I pray that next time I know what to do before it happens
again." Iida said and hunched over a bit. "I hope Dragneel and Tokoyami will be alright."
"Well, for now let Recovery Girl take care of them. Otherwise she will tear me to shreds." All Might said and he visibly shuddered, surprising the class except for two. Izuku and Eevee shuddered as they remembered Recovery Girl fussing over them after the exam. She had forced Eevee in an ice bath to cool herself down and Izuku was jabbed with calorie fluids.
"Now the next team, the Heroes are Young Uraraka and Ojiro vs. Villains Young Tohru, Aoyama, and Atsui." All Might said and directed the named teams out the door to their next building since the other was deemed unsafe by Power Loader. He was impressed by Bakugou's power and he could see it had a lot of potential. The other member, Aurora, was so unpredictable that he had no choice but to concede as she took the recoil of Young Bakugou's gauntlet and only survived with only a broken arm. He hates to admit it but she is tough, and he cannot find any fault for that Quirkless brat. Hopefully, he can pick apart Aoyama's style, and see if he can bring him down.
Back at Recovery Girl's office, Aurora was growling in disapproval. Sheshe had to have a brace on her left arm, and she was tired as all hell. The blonde was right in taking her right away, a small piece of bone did break the vessel and her Ulna was broken in 2 places and her elbow was dislocated. The Cranky Grandma had to painfully reset them before using her Quirk to speed up her recovery. It wasn't complete so the rest had to be healed on her own.
"You better rest, Aura-kun, and you better listen! I already had to treat your brother for a broken leg, and he refused to stay here. You Dragneel may be resistant to pain but I will have to say and forgive me for doing so but unlike your brother, you don't have a Quirk."
Aurora growled and looked down in frustration. One of the Dragneel trademarks is dragon rage, where they become stronger when they get excited or angry, but she does not have that. Just some dragon-scale skin-suit and a tail, and she did not like being called out for being different.
Katsuki saw this and could feel like she felt like an outcast. "You are still tough, Scales. You were able to withstand that blast and you used martial arts to knock me to the ground. Quirk or no Quirk you still kick ass." He then got up and headed towards the door, leaving Tokoyami with the dragoness. "I need to head back, I want to see how my brother and girl are doing. Featherbrain, make sure she does not do anything stupid."
Aurora snarled and threw a pillow at the blonde's head, which he dodged from the reflex when his mom threw pillows at him. He then gave a slight glare before walking out, laughing at the glare she was giving him. She stared at the door for a few more seconds before lying her head back down on a new pillow, courtesy of Dark Shadow. "Thank you," The dragoness said tiredly, petting the sentient being with her right hand before the tiredness eventually consumed her.
Katsuki was halfway towards Training Ground Alpha, deep in thought about the battle against Scales and how to counteract with her swift movements. He is already slow because he has focused on building muscles for heavy impacts, but he lacks the maneuverability to swiftly dodge. The blonde will talk to his brother about this later tonight when they get home.
Speaking of which, he needs to head back as soon as possible. Even though he had repeatedly told Izuku what to do, his mind couldn't help but make sure he was ok. Eevee is about to go out on the field and Aurora he is sure just fell asleep, so he may not have someone he could trust to be with. He ran even faster, stumbling a few times from the muscle spasms before rounding the corner to Training Ground Alpha.
Aizawa was hiding in a shadowy section of the utility closet, where he saw the blonde run past him with an angry, concerned expression. Something is up, and Bakugou knows. He thought, taking notes on how to get some answers. Yagi, what the hell did you do for two kids to hate your guts?
Something didn't sit right, and something in his gut told them to protect those two, or at least Midoriya. That Problem Child already suffered enough, and he'll be damned if he gets hurt on his watch.
Denki Kaminari may not be the brightest in the class, and it wasn't because he was blind. The blonde always had a hard time paying attention, and ADHD can do that to you. You lose interest in a lot of things unless they, like, really spark your interest. That doesn't mean that he wasn't observant though, oh no. He learned to watch his back at all times since he was 6, even if the threat was gone a long time ago.
He sensed this in Izuku Midoriya-Bakugou the day they first met and the verdanette became more guarded around All Might of all people, and he didn't need to see that they hate him with a passion. Denki heard All Might ask Izuku if he could talk to him in private and that sent warning signals in his head, immediately letting him know that the teen did not feel safe around the No. 1 Hero.
Izuku already made an excuse to watch the others and write statistics on their abilities but you could tell he was having a hard time staying inside the same room as him. He needs to calm down, and he may have the perfect excuse. Especially since he is in pain too.
"Hey, Midobro?" Kaminari started, rubbing the side of his head.
"Hm? What is it Kaminari-Kun?" Izuku looked down at the blonde and raised an eyebrow.
"We are going in after two teams and I still have a headache. Do you think we can head outside for a quick breather? We might be able to talk about strategy too."
Izuku blinked in the realization that they were indeed coming up soon, as well as nodded that Denki did look like he was struggling. "Sure, I think we can transfer the feed to my phone. And…there." He then grasped the blonde's hand and helped him up, and headed out to the roof. Immediately the stress started to fade as he was getting away from the trigger source and once the cold breeze whipped through their faces they sighed in relief.
"Ahhh, this feels good." Denki sighed and leaned against one of the walls where the air was blowing right on his face. "It was a great idea to come up here."
Izuku chuckled and slightly blushed at the blonde smiling in bliss, his lips curled in a way that looked like a bunny mouth. "Y-yeah, it feels good."
Denki chuckled, he sensed the spike in the verdanette. "Do you mind if I call you Izuku? Or do you have a nickname you prefer? I get the feeling you don't like to be called Midoriya or MB."
Izuku chuckled at the blonde's observant personality. "I…would rather not be associated with my past relations. I tolerate Midoriya-Bakugou because that is my adopted name, but I want to keep Midoriya away from me. You can call me Izuku if you like." He whistled as he watched Uraraka get restrained and flung out the window by Atsui, and frowned when he saw the familiar look of disgust a Quirkist always wears. He will keep an eye on her to check the severity. "Do you have a nickname you prefer, Kaminari-kun?"
Kaminari looked down in thought, and he realized he didn't have a suggestion. "...No, I have had nicknames, but a majority of them aren't good. My Aunt calls me Pikachu though lol, and having an Electric Quirk does make sense."
They both chuckled and Izuku gave it some thought. What would be a good name for Kaminari? What he had mentioned, he may have been bullied and he can understand that. Maybe something light, or warm. Izuku can now agree that he has a crush on Denki, and it feels good. He will take his time, he needs to make sure if it is a true crush or just random. For now, focus on the nickname. His mind then went back to when he saw his eyes, they looked like they can electrify you just by looking at them.
"Denka…"
"Denka?"
Izuku blushed even redder and for the first time, he was glad Denki couldn't see him. "I-I-I'm sorry, I was thinking of a nickname that I may call you and that was the name that came to me!"
"Huh…" Denki thought, then smirked. "Any reason why?"
The verdanette gulped and decided to face the music. "Y-your eyes, when you showed them they looked like golden honey. I-I can't call you that because it is a couple of endearments as well as my Rabbit's name is Honey. T-then I thought of the time it looked electrifying when I stared at it, and m-my mind couldn't think about anything else."
Izuku's stomach started to flare as he had to admit this, wanting to run away but he couldn't leave Denki alone. He thought the blonde would be disgusted, but he then heard a chuckle. "Denki, I like it."
"I think Denki is perfect, it fits your personality well, Kami-Denka-Kun."
"You too, yet you also have a bite." Denki laughed, glad that his headache was disappearing. "You are like a bunny, they act nice then kick you when pissed."
Izuku blew a raspberry before laughing loudly. "Yeah, that is me. I have bitten a few times, hopefully you will only get a nibble."
Denki smirked at the unintentional innuendo. "Just be gentle when you do."
Izuku smiled again and looked back at the video, whether he knew or not he had made the first flirt.
