Hello again! Back again with a new chapter, I am! So sorry this took a while. I don't want to say "I DO have a life outside of this story," but, well…You know where I'm going with this.

I'd just like to say thanks again for all the love and praise you've all given me, as well as all the suggestions and critiques.

I'd also like to say thanks for this story reaching not 1, not 3, but over 50 followers! I can't believe that my story has already gotten so much attention.

Even though technically, 50 isn't as big as it seems. It certainly means a lot to someone like me, and I'm sure many authors feel this way.

I just want you guys to know that I plan on making this story the best it can be. Of course, I will need your help with that.

So I hope you'll keep supporting me as this story grows!

Now, onto the Q and A!

First, KingJGamer, you talked about wanting Ruby to create her own Nichirin sword. I'm happy to tell you that that will be the case in a future volume!

Also, you said that Yang was too young to go to Beacon in chapter 3, and you're right. During that time, Yang is 15 and Ruby is 13.

The reason I made Yang and Ruby two years younger is because I wanted Ruby and Tanjiro to be around the same age.

Tanjiro lost his family at 13 years old, so Ruby would be 13 as well. After that, Tanjiro trains at Mt. Sagiri for two years, taking on the Final Selection at age 15 while Ruby, who is also 15, goes to Beacon.

In Chapter 3, Yang says that she might be leaving for Beacon after graduating from Signal two years later. I hope this clears up some confusion!

Now, onto Moduile, you said that you thought the Demon Slayers were nerfed because it was Aura that helped Tanjiro accomplish a feat that he did in the original Demon Slayerstory without it.

I definitely see your point, and it leads me to wonder if other readers have noticed this.

Please understand, I'm not trying to nerf Demon Slayers. I'm actually trying to make their feats more believable.

I heard that there were quite a few fans of the series who didn't like the details like water, fire, and lightning being special effects.

I went into this a bit in the prologue, talking about how I didn't like the idea "breathing make swordsman op."

I get the part of how Total Concentration allows one to "fight with the strength of a demon" or whatever…*sigh*…

*Deep inhale*

What I don't get is how Zenitsu, a supposedly "normal" 15 year old boy, can literally fly through the fucking air (pardon my language) at the speed of sound while beating the living shit (again, pardon my language) out of an Upper Rank Demon who had killed DOZENS of HASHIRA (You know, some of the strongest and experienced swordsmen IN THE WORLD!) just by fucking BREATHING ! ! ! !

I don't care if it's a manga/anime and it's not supposed to be realistic, that shit makes NO SENSE AT ALL ! ! !

*Huff* *Huff* *Huff* *Huff*

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . I apologize, I just needed to get that out there. Please know that I meant no disrespect to Koyoharu Gotouge (the pen name of the mangaka, or manga creator, of Demon Slayer) or to the people at Ufotable.

They are all fantastic people and I wish I had half the talent they have. I'm just a lonely quiet kid in high school, what the hell do I know? : )

Now, with that said, Aura is the manifestation of one's soul. Not everyone's Aura is exactly the same.

During the Beacon initiation when Pyrah unlocks Jaune's Aura, she states that Jaune had a lot of it. Would she say that if everyone had the same amount of Aura? I think not!

Granted, the writers of RWBY didn't really know where the story was going at that point in time, but I digress.

In chapter 6, Qrow says that Aura is technically part of a person's own strength. It's obvious that Tanjiro has a pure, strong soul. This is translated into his Aura.

Besides, Tanjiro unlocked his Aura through his blood, sweat, and tears. If that doesn't prove that Tanjiro is more than capable of holding his own, I don't know what will.

But hey, tell you what, maybe we can all just pretend the boulder Tanjiro cut through in this story was at least twice as big as in canon, making Tanjiro stronger than in canon. How's that sound?

Don't worry, Tanjiro is just beginning his journey. As the story progresses, he will become a lot stronger than in canon.

Anyway, once I introduce the other Demon Slayers and what they can do, you'll see that I haven't nerfed them at all.

I hope this satisfies you! If not…Well, it sucks to suck. And sorry about the rant, I don't really feel that strongly about it. It was just a horrible attempt to be funny!

Now, I don't want to keep you here for too long. Let's get on with the show!

*I do not own RWBY or Demon Slayer. Both shows/manga and all their characters belong to their respective owners.

Chapter 9 - Nice to Meet You!

Ruby Rose

The airship had finally parked itself next to a cliff and the doors to the outside opened as hordes of new students poured out.

First was "Vomit-boy" who immediately ran outside and barfed into a trash can as other people passed by, some giving the guy looks of disgust or concern.

Ruby and Yang walked with the other students onto a bridge that shot out of the airship to the docking bays.

After a minute of walking, Ruby and Yang stopped to admire their new home. "Woooooowwww…" The two sisters said at the same time in awe.

They were in the main avenue of Beacon which led to the main academy buildings and its large, impressive doorway which opened up to a large amphitheater.

The real marvel was Beacon Tower, a tall tower surmounted by green lights shining like the beacons of hope that they were. It was beautiful.

"The view from Vale's got nothin' on this." Yang commented while Ruby checked out the other students. Or more specifically, their weapons.

Ruby's eyes turned into sparkles as she started floating in the air. "Ooh! Ooh! Sis! That kid has a collapsible staff!" She squealed while eyeing another student's weapon.

"Gasp! And she's got a fire sword!" Ruby pulled on Yang's sleeve before gravitating towards the other students.

Fortunately, Yang grabbed her by the hood and pulled her back before she could make a fool of herself. "Ow, ow, ow…" Ruby whined.

"Easy there, little sister. People are starting to stare." Yang said before turning to the crowd of students giving them weird looks.

"Oh! Don't worry, folks! She's just excited, definitely not a weirdo! Honest!"

After everyone decided to move on, Yang sighed. "You need to chill, sis. They're just weapons." Yang said, earning an offended gasp from Ruby.

"JUST. . . .WEAPONS? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! And they're so cool!" Ruby said the last part a little quieter while balling her fists together in front of her face.

Yang sighed again , "Ruby, don't you think you swoon enough over your own weapon? Did you seriously forget about the intervention we had for you?"

"Of course I love Crescent Rose, I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people! But…better…and easier." Ruby muttered.

"Ruby," The blonde said with concern as she pulled Ruby's hood over her head. "Come on, why don't you try and make some friends of your own?"

"But why do I need friends when I have you?" Ruby asked sincerely while pulling her hood back down. That's when vomit boy walked by in shame, catching Yang's eye.

"Hey, there's someone you can make friends with! Go get 'em tiger!" Yang said as she shoved Ruby towards the blond boy.

"Yang, what the-!? Yelled a surprised Ruby who turned around to see Yang speed towards the school. "Where are you going!? Don't leave me here!"

"Sorry, sis! Even lions have to drop their cubs off of a cliff! See ya!"

"WHAT KIND OF SAYING IS THAT!?"

After Yang ditched her, Ruby started to panic. "Hold on, I don't even know where I'm supposed to go!" She thought out loud.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no! This is bad, this is bad, this is bad! Where do I go!? Do we go to our dorms!? Where ARE our dorms!? Do we even HAVE dorms!? WHAT DO I-Whoa!"

Crash!

Thud!

In her panic, Ruby backed up and tripped on a fancy cart. Briefcases flew everywhere. "Ow..."

"What do you think you're doing!?" She heard a voice as she got up.

"Uh…sorry." Ruby apologized. It was a girl standing in front of her.

She had pale blue eyes, pale skin, and long white hair tied up into a ponytail on the right side of her head with some sort of tiara.

She wore a white thigh-length strapless dress which turned into pale blue at the end of the skirt.

The dress also had a small piece of black lace sitting in front of her neckline. Over it, she had a bell-sleeved bolero with the same color gradation as her dress.

The bolero went from her shoulders to her wrists, lined in red with a ruffled collar. Her skirt's hem was scalloped and resembled snowflakes.

She had a small apple pendant on a silver chain and thin, rectangular silver earrings. Her boots were white, wedged heeled, and higher at the back than in the front.

Finally, she had a thin white sash on her waist and what looked like a fencing sword attached to her hip. Ruby also noticed the scar running across the girl's left eye.

"Sorry!? Do you really think an apology will fix this!" The girl yelled at Ruby while pointing at her. "Do you have any idea what damage you could've caused?"

Ruby tried to grab one of the briefcases and hand it back to the white-haired girl, who snatched it out of her hands. "Give me that!"

"This is Dust, mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry. You're lucky it didn't explode, or else we'd both be in trouble!" The girl stated as she opened the case to check its contents, revealing small vials filled with different colored properties.

"I'm so sorry! I panicked and then-! Wait, d-did you just say 'explode!?'" Ruby said in response. The girl in front of her did not seem happy about that.

"What are you, stupid!?" A tic mark appeared on Ruby's forehead upon being insulted.

"Hey! I'm not-!" Ruby tried to argue before being interrupted.

"Energy, electricity, technology, weaponry. Dust powers it all! It can take the form of the elements like water and fire and can even be refined into a liquid or powder for easier use. However, the refining process causes the Dust to become extremely unstable and therefore, dangerous. Honestly, even grade schoolers know that!

"Uhhhh…" Ruby tried to respond again before the rich girl sighed.

"How did someone with no knowledge of such basic principles get into Beacon in the first place?" She as she put the case of Dust down before squinting.

"Wait, aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?"

"Well, I-." Ruby tried to reply but was interrupted...again.

"This is Beacon Academy, a place where the best students gather to fight monsters and become proud Huntsmen. This is no place for a dull, dimwitted child like yourself."

Ruby looked down in sadness as the mean girl in white kept insulting her. "You got that? So be a good girl and run home to mommy, I'm sure she's worried sick about you." The girl said with a smirk before walking away.

Ruby's fists clenched as the girl in front of her just crossed the line. Ruby barely remembered her mother as she was still a toddler when she left home and presumably died on a mission. But even so, it was a low blow.

"...I don't have a mommy..." Ruby muttered, but the other girl seemed to heard her as she turned around with a confused look.

"Hmm? I didn't catch that. If you want to be understood, how about using your big-girl voice?" She teased Ruby, making her more angry.

"I...I already apologized, so lay off, princess." Ruby said a little louder this time, earning a shocked look from the stuck-up princess before she went back to her annoyed face.

"And I told you that 'sorry' wasn't enough. Great, on top of everything else, you're a slow learner. Jeez, you're such a hopeless child."

...

...

...

"Child, eh?" Ruby said through gritted teeth with shadows over her eyes.

"Hmm?"

Ruby looked up to reveal tic marks all over her face and pointed a finger in the other girl's face.

"WELL, YOU'RE NOT EXACTLY GROWN UP EITHER WITH THAT PRISSY HAIRCUT!" Ruby snapped, catching her oppressor off guard.

"P...P-P-P...Pri-Prissy!? How dare you!? What kind of apology is that!?" The girl in white snapped back, causing everyone nearby to stare.

"I already said 'sorry!' TWICE, I might add! If you had just accepted it instead of being a stupid, mean jerk, then we wouldn't be in this situation!" Ruby shouted.

"Well, I never-!" This time, it was Ruby's turn to interrupt the princess.

"And you have the nerve to talk about 'proud Huntsmen!' Proud, my foot! With your "holier than thou" attitude, even I have a better chance of making it as a Huntress then you ever will!"

The other girl stared at Ruby with wide eyes for a while. But then, Ruby immediately wished she could take back her last statement.

The way that other girl was glaring at her made Ruby feel intimidated. "Wha-What is this pressure?" She wondered.

The other girl then pulled out her weapon and pointed it between Ruby's eyes. "Say that again...Go on, I DARE you."

Ruby gulped while backing away, a drop of sweat moving down her forehead.

"That's enough. This is no way for a Huntress-in-training to act."

Ruby looked behind her to see a dark figure behind her which quickly disappeared. "What the-?"

"You're as bad as the rest your family, Schnee." Ruby snapped her head forward, seeing the same figure appear out of thin air next to her.

It was a girl with fair skin, wavy black hair, and amber eyes with purple eyeshadow that reminded Ruby of a cat.

She wore a black buttoned vest with coattails and a single silver button. Underneath, she had a white, sleeveless, high necked, crop undershirt.

She also had white shorts with a zipper on the front of each leg, black low-heeled boots and full stockings with a color gradation of black to purple at the ankles.

On her left arm, she had a black detached sleeve with a silver cuff around her bicep. Black ribbons were wrapped around both forearms.

Finally, she had a small, loose, black scarf around her neck and an adorable black ribbon tied with a large bow on top of her head. In one hand, she held a brown leather covered book.

"Weiss Schnee," The girl started, addressing the mean girl who was apparently named Weiss. "Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world."

"The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners." She continued, stunning the cocky heiress.

"Wha-who do you think you are!?" Weiss yelled, but the girl in the black bow seemed unfazed.

"Before you speak of pride, I suggest taking a look at yourself. That is unless you enjoy making a fool of yourself, your choice."

The girl looked at Ruby before suddenly vanishing into thin air, to both Ruby and Weiss' surprise. Ruby noticed the mysterious girl reappear in the crowd of students walking by. "That's a cool Semblance." She thought.

"Grrr! That little...!" Ruby turned to Weiss who looked furious, Ruby would be lying if she said she didn't find it humorous.

Weiss snapped her head towards Ruby and sheathed her weapon. "I won't forget this!"

And with that, the SDC heiress left. Leaving her butlers to clean up the mess of suitcases.

Ruby looked around to see that she was alone and fell to her knees in despair. She laid on her back and looked at the sky. "Welcome to Beacon…"

"Yang, I think the cliff you dropped this cub off was a bit too high..."

Ruby closed her eyes as a shadow covered her, "Hey..." A new voice said. Ruby opened her eyes to see yet another unfamiliar face, this one being a boy.

He had blonde hair, fair skin, and dark blue eyes. He was wearing a black short-sleeved hoodie with detached reddish-orange sleeves.

Over it, he had a white diamond-shaped chest plate cut off above his lower abdomen. Over his shoulders were a pair of white spaulders with rerebraces set under them.

Below, he had blue jeans with a white patch on the left knee and black sneakers. He offered his hand to help Ruby up. "I'm Jaune." He said.

"Ruby…" Ruby answered back with her own name as she took Jaune's hand and got back up. After getting up, she and Jaune stood in front of each other in silence until…

"Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?" Ruby said with a slight chuckle, and a beautiful friendship was born that day.

Jaune Arc

"All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on!" Jaune protested. He was walking around campus alongside Ruby Rose, the girl he just met.

He saw her lying on the ground all depressed and decided to give her a hand. So far, they were getting along well, despite the whole "Vomit-boy" thing which was really uncalled for in his opinion.

"Look, I'm sorry," Ruby responded, "'Vomit-boy' was the first thing that came to mind."

"Well for your information, the name's Jaune Arc!" Jaune announced his full name this time, "Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it!"

Ruby gave him a look of doubt, "Do they…?"

"They will," Jaune answered, "…At least, I hope they will…I mean, my mom always says that . . . . . Never mind." Ruby gave a slight chuckle.

They continued to walk in awkward silence after that until Ruby broke the ice. "Soooo…Want to see something cool?"

Jaune shrugged in response, "Sure." This put a smile on the girl's face before she took out a weird looking box or something.

She pressed a button and the box shifted and expanded until it turned into a giant scythe. Ruby dropped the tip into the ground, taking Jaune by surprise.

"Whoa! Is that a scythe!?" Jaune asked out of shock. Ruby held the weapon on her shoulders.

"It's also a customizable, high impact velocity sniper rifle." She explained.

"…A what?" Jaune asked, showing his confusion. Ruby pulled something on the scythe's handle as Jaune heard a cocking sound.

"It's also a gun." She put it much more simply.

"Oh…That's cool!" Jaune complimented, his confusion now gone. But he got super uncomfortable when Ruby got in his face.

"So what do you got!?" She asked, curiosity and excitement sparkling in her silver eyes.

"Oh, uh…I've got this sword." Jaune said as he unsheathed his weapon for the scythe-wielder to see.

"Ooooooooh!" Ruby exclaimed with wonder in her voice.

"Yeah, and I've got a shield too!" Jaune said with a bit of pride as he took out his sheath which expanded into a shield. Ruby's interest may or may not have given him a slight ego boost.

"So what do they do?" Ruby asked while poking around it, causing the shield to snap shut again to Jaune's surprise.

Jaune fumbled the shield/sheath until it fell on the ground. Jaune picked it up in embarrassment and put it back on his hip.

"Well, the shield gets smaller." Jaune started to explain, "So…When I get tired of carrying it, I can just…put it away."

"But wouldn't it weigh the same?" Ruby pointed out.

"Yeah, it does…" Jaune admitted as he hung his head. Luckily, Ruby was kind enough to change the subject.

"Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. So I guess I did go a little overboard when I designed mine." Ruby admitted, clearly trying to make the poor boy feel better.

"Wait, you made that?" Jaune asked, surprised that a girl as young as her could make such a monstrosity.

"Of course!" Ruby said proudly, "All students at Signal design their own weapons. Didn't you make yours?"

"It's a hand-me-down." Jaune answered. "My great-great grandfather used it to fight in the war."

". . . . Sounds more like a family heirloom to me." Ruby said, trying to be as nice as possible. But that didn't make the blonde feel better.

"Well I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days." Ruby said, but that only made Jaune feel guilty, considering what he had to do to get here.

"Yeah, the classics." He muttered. Ruby continued walking, Jaune caught up before he could be left behind.

"So, why'd you help me out back there, back in the courtyard?" Ruby asked.

"Well first off, I didn't really do that much, that was mostly the girl with the black bow," Jaune corrected, "Second, eh, why not? My mom always says 'Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.'"

"Hmmm…Hey, where are we going?" Ruby asked.

"Oh, I dunno, I was following you." Jaune admitted as the two stopped and realized that they were totally lost.

"You think there might be a directory? Maybe a…food court? Some sort of recognizable landmark?" Jaune asked, causing Ruby to chuckle again. "Is uh…Is that a no?"

"Heh, that's a no." Ruby answered.

After a bit of asking and searching, Jaune and Ruby found their way to the amphitheater where all the students were gathering.

As they walked in, Jaune heard someone call Ruby's name.

"Ruby! Over here!" The two looked over to a blonde girl who Jaune saw with Ruby back on the ship, waving at them. "I saved you a spot!"

"Oh! Hey, I gotta go!" Ruby announced so suddenly before starting to leave, "I'll see you after the ceremony!"

"Hey! Wait!" Jaune called out, not wanting to be left alone. But alas, his new friend had already left him. He let out a short sigh.

"Great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?" Jaune asked himself, not noticing that he caught the attention of a certain redhead who fit his requirements.

Yang Xiao Long

"How's your first day going, my adorable little sister?" Yang asked Ruby as she was going in for a head pat before her hand was smacked away by the younger girl.

Ruby then pouted and looked away to Yang's surprise. "Hey, what's wrong? Don't tell me you're mad about me ditching you."

Ruby did not respond. "Oh come on! Is it so wrong that I want you to get out of your shell! It's not my fault you spend more time with weapons then you do people!" Before Yang could continue...

"Ahem…" The whole amphitheater quieted down as they heard a voice over the microphone. "I'll keep this brief."

It was Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy who had noticed Ruby's awesomeness and let her into Beacon two years early.

He pushed his glasses up before continuing. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills."

"And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of other people." Ruby and Yang smiled at each other when he said that. They were going to make their mom and dad proud…Well, Ruby's mom anyway.

No, she was Yang's mom too, Uncle Qrow and dad made sure to hammer that into her brain.

"But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy." Yang was not so happy to hear that and glared at the grey-haired bastard.

"Wasted!? The only thing being wasted here is my time!"

"Energy in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Everyone tensed at those words.

The headmaster then gave a warm smile, "But you are still children, so do try to have fun while you're at it!" And with that, Ozpin made way for Glynda Goodwitch.

"You will all gather in the ballroom tonight." She announced, "Tomorrow, your initiation begins, be ready. You are dismissed."

"Not gonna lie," Yang said, "He seemed kind of off at the beginning there."

"It was almost like he wasn't even there." Ruby agreed.

"Oh, so you CAN talk!" Yang yelled, earning another pout from Ruby.

-That Night-

Everyone was going to sleep in the same room, and that meant everyone. Yang wasn't sure that it was a good idea for a bunch of hormonal teenage boys and girls to sleep in the same room but, hey, she wasn't complaining.

A bunch of beds were set up in rows in the ballroom, each student getting to pick where they slept. The only rule was that boys stayed on one side, and girls on the other.

Yang got into her pajamas and walked to her bed before seeing Ruby in her own sleepwear. Their beds were right next to each other, because of course they were.

"Oh Ruby! I forgot how adorable you look in your pajamas!" Yang exclaimed lovingly, earning a glare from her little sister.

"Not...in the mood..." Ruby said dramatically.

Yang leaned towards Ruby's face. "Come on! Stop being such a grumpy-grump! From what I heard, you made three new friends in one day!"

"THREE!? The only thing I made was one POTENTIAL friend, an acquaintance who's name I don't even know, and a bully in the form of a devil princess!" Ruby snapped.

"Devil princess? Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Ugh, I wish. After you 'dropped the cub off of a cliff', thanks a lot by the way, I bumped into this crabby girl's luggage." Ruby began to explain.

"I apologized over and over and over, but she just kept yelling at me! Apparently, she's some heiress to some stupid company or whatever, and she's just the worst-"

"That 'stupid company' is the Schnee Dust Company, brat." Ruby froze and slowly turned her head to the bed next to hers where a girl in white was sitting.

Ruby got up and hid behind Yang's back. "YOU AGAIN! Don't sleep next to me, you jerk!" Ruby snapped while peaking her head over Yang's shoulder.

"COME OFF IT, you think I would willingly CHOOSE this spot!? Every other bed is taken!" Yelled the girl named Weiss.

"Hey, come on now..." Yang said, trying to diffuse the situation.

"Anyhow, you should learn some respect, you-!" Weiss was unable to finish her insult.

"You again? Good grief, you're like cats and dogs." All three girls simultaneously looked towards the bed behind Yang's.

On it was a girl with a black bow on her head holding a book in her hand.

"YOU! I remember you, you'll pay for what you said, you hear me!?" Weiss tried to throw herself at the mysterious girl, forcing Yang to hold her back with her right arm.

"Alright, guys, let's just chill." Yang said before hearing a growl on her left shoulder.

"You too, Ruby." Yang looked at her angry little sister who was still glaring at Weiss.

Yang then threw her arms out to the sides. "Look, it's clear that fate has brought us all together." She said, earning raised eyebrows from all thee girls.

That did nothing to wipe Yang's smile from her face. "So, how about we make up and start over!"

She then pointed to herself. "I'm Yang, nice to meet ya! And this little cutie behind me is my little sister, Ruby!"

"And you must be...Weiss, right?" Yang asked, earning a "Hmph" in response as the heiress crossed her arms and turned her head.

"Wow, she really is like a princess..." Yang thought before turning to the book girl. "And finally..."

"Blake..." The girl stated her name.

"Alright! Now we can be friends! Sorry for being so pushy, heh!" Yang exclaimed. Weiss scoffed in reply.

"Huh, please. I'd rather make out with tall, blond, and scraggly over there than be friends with any of you fools." Weiss pointed towards vomit-boy who happened to be walking by.

He also seemed to hear her since he stopped with a confused look on his face.

Weiss then seemed to realize something. "Wait, if she's your older sister. Then...Ah, you must be the grade skipper. The one who fought Roman Torchwick and survived." She said with a smirk.

Ruby shot a glare at the heiress. "What's it to you?"

"Oh nothing. I'm just shocked that someone so dim-witted would be able to take on one of the most dangerous criminals in Remnant. Are you sure he wasn't going easy on you?"

"Hmph! I don't think that guy went easy on anyone." Ruby shot back.

"Fair enough. But even so, I have no idea what Professor Ozpin was thinking letting a child like you into Beacon. I bet you don't even have any goals or dreams. I bet you just thought fighting monsters sounded cool or something."

Those words seemed to hit Ruby deep as she lowered her head. Yang noticed this and tried to help. "Alright, that's enough."

"You're wrong..." Everyone looked at Ruby in confusion.

"Ruby?" Yang asked with concern.

"I DO have a dream..."

"If you want to call me dim-witted, fine. If you want to call me a child or brat, fine. It doesn't matter. I know what I want to be..."

Ruby looked up with determination in her eyes. "I'm going to become a Huntress so I can save everyone, just like the heroes in the story books. That is my goal, and I'll do everything I can to achieve it."

...

...

...

"Ah!" Ruby recoiled as if she realized what she said. "I...I mean, I'm not saying it's certain but...I'll do my best, that's for sure!"

"Oh, I'm so proud of you, Rubes! We'll both become Huntresses, I'm sure of it!" Yang exclaimed while bringing in her sister for another bear hug.

"YAAAAANG! STOP IT!" Ruby yelled before the two erupted into a cartoonish cloud and fists and kicks as Ruby tried to get Yang off of her.

"Hmph. Figures, another child with a childish dream. Have you ever heard the words 'talk is cheap?'" Weiss said.

"I hate to say this but, she's right." Blake added. "Life isn't like a fairytale."

As Yang and Ruby tussled, the blond noticed a small smile on Blake's face.

"That said, you're very ambitious for a child. I wish you luck."

"Yeah, encourage her, that's a great idea." Weiss said as she got in her bed. "Don't come crying to me when a Beowolf rips her head off.

Then Vomit-boy, or Jaune as Ruby told Yang, stepped by Weiss' bed. "I'm a natural blond, you know." He said with a wink.

Weiss simply groaned as Yang and Ruby's tussle was still going on.

"YOU FOUR! BE QUIET OR YOU'LL BE KICKED OUT OF THE SCHOOL!" Yelled Goodwitch who charged into the ballroom with murder in her eyes. The four girls immediately started shaking and soon went to bed.

"AND YOU, TO THE BOY'S SIDE NOW!"

"Y-YES MA'AM!"

Tanjiro Kamado

A waning crescent shined in the sky, hiding the shattered part of the moon, as Tanjiro walked along a dirt path in the forest.

He spotted multiple trees with purple flowers growing from them. He took out his scroll and checked its map. On the map was a mark near Tanjiro's location that Mr. Urokodaki placed.

"This must be the place." Tanjiro said to himself before continuing down the path towards the pretty trees. He had finally made it to Mt. Fujikasane, location of the Final Selection

As Tanjiro made his way up the mountain path, he admired the beautiful trees and the flowers on them. He observed them a little more closely and realized what it was.

"Wisteria…" Tanjiro stated in his head, amazed by how much there was of it. "It's all over the place. I thought it was out of season."

Tanjiro continued walking until coming upon a flight of stairs. As he went up the steps, he went through two red pillars standing across from each other.

The pillars were connected by two ropes holding flags with wisteria flower designs. But, that wasn't what caught Tanjiro's attention.

Past the pillars, there were over a dozen swordsmen who looked around Tanjiro's age, spread out across a clearing in the mountain.

Some of them had scars on their faces, others were covered in dirt. Some were standing around in silence, others were meditating.

Three of the swordsmen stood out from the others. One girl and two boys.

The girl had a pink kimono, black hair tied in a ponytail on the right side of her head, and a butterfly ornament bracing the ponytail.

One boy was blond, wearing an orange-yellow haori with a white triangle pattern.

The other had large, inward slanting eyes, a jagged scar over his right cheekbone, and a black buzz cut. He wore a purple, sleeveless yukata over a plain black shirt with long sleeves.

"So many people…" Tanjiro said in his head as he walked past the other participants.

"Good evening." Tanjiro gasped, startled at the sound of two voices next to him. He turned his head to look at two little girls.

They must've been twins, because their appearance was almost identical. They were both pale, had their hair shaped into a bob haircut, large dark eyes, and an elongated wisteria headpiece.

They also both wore purple, flower-patterned Hōmongi kimonos with dark indigo juban under it. They also sported a sheen green obi with a dark indigo obiage and a plum-red obijime tying it.

The only difference was the hair color, one girl had white hair and the other one had black hair. There was also a difference in the location of their headpiece. The one with white hair had their headpiece on the right side of her head as opposed to the left side like the girl with black hair.

"Tonight, you've come to enter the Demon Slayer Corp's Final Selection." The two girls announced, speaking simultaneously. It was kind of creepy in Tanjiro's opinion.

"Thank you all for being here."

Alright, let's stop there for now!

There really wasn't anything new in this chapter, it was basically just a retelling again. Sorry if it was too boring, I'm afraid it might be a while before I make any major changes.

I'm trying to learn to take more risks and I hope you'll be patient, I promise that you'll be rewarded for it.

Until then, I hope my "top tier" narration can provide you with some entertainment.

Also, Final Selection takes place over seven days while the Beacon initiation only lasts one. So, I'll be focusing on the RWBY side of the story for a while.

I'll be checking on Tanjiro once in a while, but I don't plan on him fighting the hand demon until the final day of Final Selection.

Once again, make sure to leave a review on how I can improve. Thank you for all the support, until next time!

*Manga flips to a page with panels of Ruby and Yang as the two jump out.

Yang: Well…that was a pretty eventful day, eh sis?

Yang put on a nervous smile and scratched the back of her head with her left arm.

Ruby:…I'm still not talking to you…

Ruby pouted as turned away from Yang while crossing her arms in anger.

Yang: But you just did…

Yang leaned towards Ruby with a mischievous look on her face.

Ruby: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Yang: Oh come on! Don't tell me you're still mad about me leaving you behind! I love you to bits, little sis, but I can't be your only friend!

Yang threw her arms up in the air while yelling at Ruby in anger. Ruby still said nothing, causing Yang to sigh with shoulders slumped.

Yang: Fine, have it your way.

Yang held her arms up and shrugged in defeat.

*Close up to Yang's face

Yang: While my adorable little sister is being a big baby, let me tell you a Taisho Era Secret.

Yang leans in

Yang: Remember that SDC pamphlet that Weiss shoved in Rube's face in the original RWBY show? Well, I heard that Ice Queen herself was forced to memorize that thing word for word. And every time she messed up, her older sister pinched her ear and lifted her into the air until she cried!

A thought bubble formed above Yang's head. The cloud expanded to show an image of a twelve-year old Weiss being held by the ear by her older sister, Winter.

Winter had an angry tick mark on her forehead while Weiss held her sister's arm with both of hers, flailing and kicking her legs with tears in her eyes.

Winter: For the last time, it's "injuries or damages sustained," NOT "injuries or damages that occurred!"

Weiss: Sister, please! I'll get it right, I swear!

Winter: You're damn right, you will! If I did, then so can you. No excuses!

Weiss: Yes! I understand! Just please let me go!

The thought bubble vanishes as Ruby and Yang burst out in laughter while clutching their stomachs.

Suddenly, Weiss pops up from out of nowhere with her own tick mark.

Weiss: That was SO not funny! And I'll have you know that Winter apologized afterward, and she didn't even lift me that high! Who even told you about that!?

Yang: A magician never reveals her secrets, Ice Queen!

Yang turned to Weiss while proudly pointing a thumb at herself.

Weiss: I HAVE A NAME ! ! ! !

Weiss stomps off while muttering.

Ruby wipes a tear from her eye after laughing so much.

Ruby: Oh man, that was good!

Yang suddenly puts an arm around Ruby's neck and holds her in an armlock as she starts giving her noogies.

Yang: Awwww! There's my baby sister!

Ruby: YAAAAAAAAANNNG ! ! ! ! !

Suddenly, the two are enveloped in a cloud as they start rumbling with each other. Fists and kicks can be seen coming out of the cloud as the two sisters grunt with effort.

Eventually, the cloud disappears to reveal Ruby putting Yang in a headlock, although she had to put more effort into it to barely keep Yang from escaping.

Yang: Hnng! Next time, Chapter 10 - Begin the Initiation! Grrrr! Alright, come 'ere, you!

The fighting cloud comes back as the two continue to rumble.
