Out of near infinity you have chosen me once again! Hello again those returning and welcome to newcomers if there are any, not ever really expecting much out of this, doing it more for fun but hey!. Now then Ended up finding out that FFN decided it was a good idea to fuck up my paragraph spacing, and delete separators. Not sure if I already mentioned that but if I didn't now you know. Soo prior chapters should read more smoothly, had a bit of a delay cause my brain had trouble figuring out how to write the chapter I was on, I have a backlog and I seem to have decided not to publish the next chapters until after I've added a new one to the backlog. But damn now I'm impatient to write the next chap cause I've gotten to something I'm excited to write as a scene. Anyways on to what reviews I have!

Guest#- 1 or 3 I think I made it pretty clear how Imagine breaker effects the fey a while back as early as chapter 1 I think

Fencer: Never… all shall know of that event the female knight shall never forget it! Lets all admit it… Index is a living black hole and yeah the damn church just didn't like paying for it. Indeed Kanzaki would be valuable reinfrocement but, will she be enough? why would she bring her beloved washing machine into the battlefield!? How cruel of you!

Whwsms: indeed it appears she shall (aka not sure how I'll have her show up working on it writer in progress!)

Now then, let this tale of an infinity commence, once more

Chapter 17

Fatherly Conviction.

Itsuwa went out to tell the Amakusas to call for reinforcements from the church. The threat was worse than they had thought prior. So having a saint would be an extreme asset to the coming battles.

Due to their actions when breaking into the hospital. Galistic and Baohban were forced to go with Itsuwa as their presence in the Hospital wouldn't exactly be welcome after they knocked everyone out. Index confirmed this when she heard murmurs from the staff members about a pair of 'dangerous fugitives' having invaded the hospital.

Muireann had begun wandering around the building and the area outside in a sort of panicked manner. Constantly grimacing in pain the further from Touma's room she got. Index noticed that her breath at one point was visible like during winter.

Othinus asked to talk to Touma alone, appearing sure that he'd take the news of Kazakiri much better from her. Index wasn't too pleased by that, she wasn't exactly sure why though. It might have had something to do with the ache in her chest however.

Heaven Canceler exited Touma's room after checking in on him. Bringing Othinus in there by her request, he however stayed in the hallway in front of the door where Index and Misaka were.

Shortly after Othinus had entered the room, Index and Misaka heard a roar of rage and the crashing of an object, likely a bedside table. This lasted a full minute before it devolved into sobbing, Index and Misaka tried to enter the room during Touma's fit multiple times. However Heaven Canceller stopped them with a calm regret in his eyes.

The sobbing gradually died down and Heaven Canceller sighed "it would appear that he's calm now, the two of you can go in now. However I will stress that visiting hours are nearly over and You two should go home. Well At least You Misaka, I know that Index here doesn't really have an official home to go to." he smiled softly before leaving the area.

Index opened the door slowly, the room was a mess. The bedsheets were tossed on the ground, the bedside table was indeed toppled over. Glass shards littered the floor from a beaker and the bed itself had scuff marks on it. The painting on the wall was knocked down, and the chairs were in opposite corners seemingly thrown.

Touma was sitting next to the bed, his hair ruffled and his face downwards right hand holding onto his head. Othinus was next to him, her small hand on his leg as she looked up at him silently. Her eye was sad as if she couldn't bare to see him like this and she was saying something.

"So, what are you going to do? They took her and she suffered. what do you plan to do?" she spoke sternly but her face showed a different story. She was trying to encourage Touma to get him to move on.

Index and Misaka held their breath as Touma spoke up. "It's no use throwing a tantrum right now, even if I needed it. I have no clue where this Celt is, but I can be positive from what you described that Kazakiri's life isn't in Danger." His head began to rise and Index saw a fire in his eyes. That fire the one he has every time he's made his choice to save. The very fire that ensures the salvation for all involved, even their enemies.

And once more he spoke his conviction "But the moment we find her, Im gonna punch her so damn hard in the face that She'll beg that I forgive her and ask to be given a second chance." he then took a breath, "And then I'll forgive her, ask her to stand by our side as we beat that Idiot Alon for tricking them." He smiled compassionately.

It was shocking how much control he had over his emotions. It would be easy to just want to kill Celt Eislyn for what she had done and Ignore the circumstances behind it. But Touma would hold those desires in check and give others the benefit of the doubt as he knew that they had their reasons.

Touma then noticed Index and Misaka had entered the room and he blushed. "Ah, h-how long have you two been there?" he asked sheepishly, turning his head slightly while wiping his face from the tears he had.

Misaka spoke up before Index could. "About the time Othinus asked what you were gonna do, Idiot. Honestly you act like a father to that Kazakiri"

Index snickered at Misaka's comment "Well If what she said to me about her creation is true, then he kinda is." she walked over to the bedside table and lifted it back in place.

Misaka looked shocked at Index's comment "Wait what? backup a moment Silver sister, what do you mean he kinda is her father?"

Index shrugged, deciding it was fine to tell Misaka "Well she apparently was born due to the fear of Touma's hand and that gave her a sense of self?" Index tilted her head confused at the last bit.

Misaka shook her head as she walked over to Touma's bedside "If you put it like that I guess it kinda makes some convoluted sense"

Touma got up and began cleaning up, Othinus pitching in by taking the glass shards so people wouldn't step on them. "let me clean this up, It is my mess after all."

Misaka sighed and gave Touma a slight smack, "no, you should be resting Idiot hear I'll remake your bed." She nervously finished with red beginning to show on her face as she picked the bedsheets from off the ground and placed them back on the bed.

Touma tilted his head but reluctantly complied "Thanks Misaka, but are you alright? Your acting like a docile kitten again, It's kinda cute. If I didn't know any better I'd say you had feelings for me."

Touma once again being so damn insensitive to his words casually said something that caused Misaka to spark. Index of course felt a squeezing in her chest. But it oddly wasn't as bad as it was with other people.

"Wh-wh-what the HELL gave you that Idea Idioooot!" Misaka, now embarrassed Launched a lightning spear at Touma. He blocked it with his right hand before Misaka stormed out the door.

"Aaahhhhh Wha..what did I even do!?" Touma's face was completely confused. "Thats like the most blatant tsundere reaction i've ever seen and I only see them from her. But Tsunderes don't work in real life..." Touma then went on to try and justify why it couldn't be that Misaka was into him.

Othinus sighed from her position on the floor, her and Index giggling slightly at the exchange while cleaning. "Human, understander, allow me to fill you in on a small detail." She then climbed up onto his bed and sat cross legged on his chest next to his face before giving his forehead a chop. "Never underestimate the unpredictability of humanity, and especially girls. Tsundere is based on a real trait, just highly exaggerated. Same with Yandere, Kuudere, Deredere and all the other 'Dere' traits." she took a breath before continuing. Index was actually a bit interested in what she was saying.

"Everything Humanity creates is based on what they know to some extent, therefore everything you see even in fiction is based on something true in some essence. In the case of Japan's 'dere' tropes? They are all based on actual personality traits, but are over exaggerated. So it's Entirely possible for someone to be Tsundere, However that just sabotages them." Othinus then got up and leaned against Touma's head "For example, I'd count as a Kamidere, even though It is true that I am a god. I still would be classified as that trope understood?"

Touma nodded and Index spoke "So does that mean someone with Magical powered Kanami's personality can exist?" her eyes were wide with sparkles as she stared directly at the One eyed god.

Othinus feeling a bit nervous moved closer to Touma's pillow while answering Index "The core traits, yes in a sense they could. But remember Kanami's behavior is a flamboyant over-exaggeration of those traits." she sat next to Touma's pillow and leaned against his head once more. "My point is Human, never say that it's impossible for someone to have a certain personality trait."

Touma blinked before shrugging "well I guess really I just don't want to accept the Idea" he said while looking towards the window.

"Accept what?" Index asked, she looked at Othinus who just turned away. Unwilling to share her understanding of Touma with her, causing Index to pout once more.

Touma's eyes looked mournful as he stared at the evening sky. "Accept the idea that she was in love with me. Cause If I did, I'd have to accept all the other people who've shown similar behaviors are as well. I mean I'm just a highschool boy, why would I attract so many people? And I don't want false hope." his face then took a disgusted turn "And I'd have to admit Tsuchimikado and Aogami were right and I can NEVER allow that."

Index and Othinus laughed at that last bit and Touma smiled. This is the life they fought for, this was their normal. They may be a Walking library, a former God and a boy with a hand that destroys the supernatural. But that doesn't mean they couldn't have a normal life. And that is what Index loved the most about their awkward family.

Touma then turned to Othinus once more "by the way, how did you know all that stuff on the, Dere's?"

Othinus smugly smiled "No knowledge escapes my grasps, and anything that will help further my understanding of you and those around you I shall never pass up!"

Touma deadpanned "sooo you spent an entire day on the internet after I showed you that anime and researched what Tsundere meant after I mentioned that one character being one"

Othinus deciding a change in topic was in order. Glanced at the clock and got up "Oi You Index," she said, causing Index to turn to her. "It's about time to leave, visiting hours are nearly over so you'll need to leave."

Index raised an eyebrow at Othinus's wording "Those rules apply to you to you know." she pointed out

"Im am a God and this Human's understander, and as his understander It is my duty to stay by his side we are one entity if he gets hurt I get hurt meaning I must be present when they treat him" Othinus made a extremely stupid excuse using loopholes that surely wouldn't fly with the doctors

"Yeah Yeah whatever Othinus" Index said as she grabbed the tiny god who tried and failed to hide In the sheets before Index caught her. "Later Touma!" Index said ignoring the muffled shouts of 'And by international law I am required to stay by his side' from the Norse god emitting from her sleeves as she left the room.

"See you Tomorrow Index, If things go well we'll have an Easter party!" Touma called out just as Index shut the door, leaving Touma alone.

It was around 2 AM when Touma suddenly awoke in the hospital bed to feel a pressure pressing into him. Turning his head he saw Muireann Conan next to him in the bed. Her usually dark skin was already shades darker and her cheeks were completely flushed.

"Mu-Mu MUIREAAmmmphhh!" Touma was about to shout but Muireann used her hand to cover his mouth, muffling him.

"Th-this ain't wha't ya think ya idoit!" she began rapidly speaking even inconsistently reverting to a scottish accent. "It's my spell, fo some odd reason the da'n thing decided to act up." she was very clearly nervous and her gradually reddening face didn't make things better for her. "After I learned tha't Celt was still kick'en. Mah blasted binding pact started freezing like ta bloody hells" she took a short breath before continuing. "So, of course as it get darker and I get more worr'ied it decaids that I need to be riiiight up next to ya to make sure you're safe before it stopped freezen meh!"

Touma, looking slightly confused due to her accent constantly shifting due to her embarrassment, was still able to gather the gist of what she meant. "So your saying The spell you used runes for earlier made it so you needed to be right next to me?"

Muireann calmed down a bit as Touma appeared to get the message. "Y-yah s-so could I sleep here with you tonight? And keep that hand in ya pocket!" spoke the last part sternly causing Touma to quickly shove the Imagine Breaker into his leg pocket.

Touma thought a moment and responded "I guess it's fine, I wouldn't want you to be in constant pain because of some mistake you made." he smiled at her and Muireann's face went even redder than she thought possible. Touma did not notice due to his eyes being closed.

"Thanks K-Kamijou S-sama" Murieann mumbled as Touma turned his head and closed his eyes.

"Did you say something Muireann?" Touma asked

Murieann smiled "no, not at all, Goodnight Kamijou'' before trying to go to sleep herself Only to find her heart beating way too fast. 'ohmygodIamnotpreparedforthismyheartisnotreadypleasesomeonehelp!' her thoughts were so rapid she could barely understand them.

Touma's left hand absentmindedly reached back and stroked her head. Muireann then realized she felt safe, calm and at peace. It wasn't long after that she fell asleep.
