Welcome back again readers, if you're here. This chapter may get a little weird, and things may be odd. I hope it works, it probably could be improved. But well I couldn't figure out what I needed to altered. Other than that, Big… BIG thanks to Dragonrails for a particular scene. In this chapter, I'll go in more detail at the end of the chapter. Now onto reviews
Whwsms:{From here on out throw common sense out the window. It's getting Weird
You'll see just what he's remembered. Yeah they shocked, and awed.}
5had0wHand:{No, but he is using something, you'll see.
Celt is taping into all culture! But please… only for the ladies.
Ainmire… you'll see him soon}
Now remember, constructive criticism is both encouraged and desired. I can't improve if I don't know what to improve.
Chapter 29
Songs of the universe
Index felt the shockwave that was centered on Celt Eislyn; she could see it distort the world around them. The ground bent up and around to the ceiling of the inside of the building. The horizon bent in and could be seen in gaps between the ground. Doors lead to places they shouldn't, and corners connected to opposite parts of the area. The fencing was twisted into almost scaffolding like structures. The facility which Celt had made into her base had become a tower of euclidean impossibility.
In the corner Index saw Misaka clutch her head laughing maniacally as the electricity she generated collessed into spheres of energy. And objects thrown at her seemed to disintegrate. She threw those spheres indiscriminately as if consumed by madness. Similar behavior could be seen from the other non-magicians.
'Celt was a Leann Sidhe, she would inspire someone in exchange for their soul and mind. So then, Great old ones and Elder gods like the ones from HP Lovecraft's works are the extreme side of that.' Index realized as she stared at Celt, quickly spell intercepting a massive mouthed tendril into slamming into a wall. 'Celt made herself into something like that. It must have also cost some of her own sanity, Touma might be able to dispel it all by hitting her but.' Index stopped mid thought as she ducked under a Dark Matter construct that looked like a twisted version of that popular western mouse mascot from a certain famous animation company.
Jumping and twisting through every attack and around the space that had caused most of the Magicians, Judgement and Anti-skill to be unable to fight back efficiently. Was Touma, he leapt forward jumping off pieces of the twisted landscape as if he knew beforehand where they'd pop up. His Destination? The falling Muireann whose body was hurtling towards the massive open tendriled jaws on Celt's back.
"Touma!" She shouted as he leapt off into the air.
…
'That was foolish of me, wasn't it' Muireann Conan thought to herself as she flew threw the air. Her daggers were thrown from her hands and there was no water for her to escape through. Her body was drying out, and her breathing hurt 'Ah, Celt must have dehydrated me'
Muireann shut her eyes as she breathed out a last tear falling from her eyes. 'Don't let Celt fall down this path, Kamijou-sama' she didn't wanna see herself in an embarrassing state as she was nearing closer to the gaping mawed abyss created by Celt's newly formed Tendrils. 'At least, Kamijou-sama has a chance to save her.'
Just before she fell into the maw of tendrils, she felt like something or someone grabbed and saved her at the last moment.
opening her eyes she saw that Touma had just saved her in nick of time. Muireann looked at Touma for a moment as a hot blush came across her face. Touma's serious chiseled face made her heart skip a few beats as she felt his strong muscular hands holding onto her.
She couldn't contain her desire and embarrassment any longer "N-Never maind about da'ating Kamijou-sama please mar'ry me! You won't ave to worry a'll take good care of ya!" Muireann couldn't stop her own mouth from letting the words out as her scottish accent leaked back in.
Touma nearly spit in shock "What!? Muireann now's not the time for this we gotta get out of here" he held her with his toned, muscular arm and swung around what may have once been a street lamp with the other to land on the distorted landscape on the other side of the pit.
This merely caused Muireann's heart to beat faster and her desire for him skyrocketed. "Kamijou-sama how many kids do ya want a'm partica'l for at least 3, ya've got such a handle on mah body, I can't stop mah'self. " her face was completely red eyes swirling as her mouth continued to move on it's own. Spouting all her desires out at once, "If yah, wa'n't I'll take control durin tha deed! Ay, know ya like assertive gals!"
"By my name and Asgard's valkyries! She's in heat and it's not even late spring!" Shouted the head norse god from Kamijou's broad, and angular shoulder.
Touma's adorable face was red as he quickly grabbed and threw a Dark Matter construct (with his muscular arms) to the side before it could touch Muireann. "3-3 kids!? This Kamijou-san is too young to think about kids! And Calm down before you say something more you'll regret!"
Quickly kicking a thrown Metal frame to the side with her legs Muireann turned to Kamijou's Heroic and Majestic form. "Oh no, Ay Insa'st Kamijou-sama!" she said breathing heavily.
"By my Nephew's Coils! She's a lost cause! She's even got hearts in her eyes human!" Shouted the powerful Norse god whose presence was proof of Kamijou's heroic deeds.
Touma leapt forward, heroically pushing Muireann out of the way. As a mass of energy from the now Insane Misaka disintegrated the area they were in. "We'll talk about this later Muireann! Just.. stay out of danger okay?" Her great hero said, causing her heart to beat crazily.
"Yes, yes absolutely ma hero Kamijou-sama! a'll wait here and watch ya do ya're heroics with that saxy ass body o' yars!" Murieann said drooling slightly as she held her cheeks in her hands, adding what was undoubtedly the truth.
…
After convincing the heated, not thinking straight and, possibly, exceedingly horny Selkie girl, to stay out of trouble. Kamijou turned towards Misaka who had been driven mad by Celt's inspiration. Muireann's words had caused Misaka to target her. Celt would be targeting Kamijou now that she didn't need to worry as much about the other magicians. Antiskill and Judgement appeared to have gone mad as well. Fighting amongst themselves or just lying on the ground twitching.
"Human, you know what she's capable of now right?" his Understander said from his shoulder.
"Yeah, I need to snap her out of it though" he responded as he started to head forward. By using the non-euclidean space to his advantage he quickly moved closer to Misaka as she disintegrated the area around her.
"You might not be able to, human." His understander warned as she quickly diverted an attack from Celt. Celt had closed the tendrilled maw that had grown from her back and started heading in Kamijou's direction.
Kamijou gritted his teeth as he leapt and ducked sideways blocking an ionized sphere of plasma that Misaka had launched at Muireann. Who was drinking a large bottle of water she had been given by a battered Amakusa who had managed to reach her. "I know, I still need to try though" he muttered.
His Understander sighed as she backflipped and knocked a glass shard from the air just as Kamijou tilted sideways to avoid two spiked Tendrils. "How are you doing?" she asked, referring to his mental state.
"Not good Othinus, once we finish here I'll likely breakdown, would you be there for me when I do?" he told her. He couldn't keep secrets from her, and he had to ask even if he already knew the answer.
Othinus smiled as she used her small hand to grab a metal spike from the air and throw it into a tendril eye. Causing it to scream and pull back rapidly "Of course, I couldn't leave you like that, it is my job to resolve that pain I caused."
Touma smiled as he focused forward, the pulsing in his mind was now a throbbing pain. But the Adrenaline kept him going as he focused forward to save one of his oldest friends he could remember.
Misaka laughed and cackled as whips of iron sand charged molten with electricity whipped around her and spheres of ionized plasma were thrown. Any object that got within that radius disintegrated as its electrons, protons, and neutrons were canceled out and rearranged.
"Ahahahahahahaha! Did I hear you right you horny Seal!? You want My Idiot!? He's been promised to me, he promised to protect me and my world, but he's my world And I want to protect him I can't let a bitch who hurt him get near him! Ah, yes if I cut off his legs he can't run, If I lock him away like that he can't get hurt!" Her madness had taken a terrifying form. She continued to spout nonsense as she threw attacks at Murieann who was now running and dodging, be it… in a heated daze.
"Misaka! Snap out of it!" Kamijou Shouted as he punched through and negated the magnetized Ironsand, and ionized plasma sphere.
"Asgard's spires she's gone yandere, lets see if you can punch it out of her like you did Salome." Othinus grinned as she kicked a pressure point on Touma's shoulder causing it to jerk upwards.
This carved a path through the disintegrating field around Misaka, as Kamiou charged towards Misaka.
"I-Idiot!? Aah you're coming to me-" misaka started before Kamjou's fist slammed into her face causing everything around her that her power had caused to be undone.
"Othinus I get you like the thrill of the fight, but could you read the room!" Kamijou Shouted as Othinus crawled down and took two earplugs out of Misaka's pocket before putting them in her ears.
"Human!" shouted the god of war as she turned around eyes wide.
"Already on it Othinus!" Kamijou shouted as he whipped around, intercepting a mass of energy that Celt sent their way. The area around it dried and crumbled and touma felt himself being pushed back by the energy.
"What happen, Idiot !?" Misaka groggily woke up and shook her head before staring at Kamijou in shock.
"Othinus!, go with Misaka, and guide her to the other's! They can't navigate this space like me and you." Kamijou Shouted and Othinus nodded before crawling onto Misaka's shoulder and kicking the side of her head so she turned to her. Using sign language Othinus conveyed Kamijou's message. Misaka nodded before getting up and pulling herself away with Magnetism.
…
Kanzaki and Itsuwa were pinned down near the former parking lot of the building. Looking up they could see the top of the tower that was created from the research building. Yes they stood prospectively from those near the building itself on the ceiling. The space around them was distorted so badly that they were contained in a sphere?
Looking down in the gaps of the 'ground' around them Itsuwa could see the buildings of Academy City in the distance. There were a few crumbling skyscrapers from the Science fiction canons earlier. She could hear sirens echoing from there but at the same time it came from the air around her. She had trouble wrapping her mind around the landscape. No her mind wouldn't let her understand it, it refused to understand it. This wasn't like a Grimore but at the same time it was hauntingly similar.
Behind her a wall from the back of the building kept her from backing up further. At the same time that wall was also ground further up? Down? Regular understanding of 3-dimensional space no longer mattered. Up, down, left, right, forward, backward, inside, outside they were all interchangeable. So as long as Celt held the power and form she did, she could change any of those things as she pleased.
"Itsuwa! Focus forward!" The priestess shouted, she was right after all. They had something targeting them, whatever it was. It drained their very souls by being near them.
Standing at a towering 15 feet, if that measurement meant anything. Was an immense furred beast, It had long sharpened claws that looked more like razor blades. It's teeth were diamond spikes as it grinned a cheshire's smile. A tail swayed left to right behind it as an almost charming laugh came from it. (^1)
The word Werewolf came to Itsuwa's mind but, this was nothing, nothing like any werewolf she had ever heard of. No if anything werewolves would just be mere mockeries of this great wolf.
"This is Quite interesting, quite wondrous, truly! I may not be the real deal but that just makes this all the more fun. Wouldn't you two agree? One who draws power from the son of god themself? And a girl who's power can be used to slay those who draw upon that power?" The King of Wolves said in a charming male voice.
"We have silver right?" Itsuwa asked Kanzaki as she prepped her spear.
"We should have some silver shavings, yes" Kanzaki replied as she gripped her blade. "But to think, she's reached this level already."
The beast laughed "Ahaha! I must say this hunt should be fun Lets see how far I can go as this mere false image~ please, do entertain and surprise me." Before it charged forwards, blade-like claws prepared to cut the two women down.
…
Tatemiya carved through another Dark Matter Construct as he headed towards the Amakusas that were unconscious. He had managed to heal a few enough to function, but there were more to go.
"Tsushimia! We need to move, this space is just… damn it! Where the hell?" shouted Tatemiya as he rounded a corner only to find himself, once again in a place he shouldn't be. He had rounded through the front yard of the building past a twisted piece of rubble. But he found himself standing on the fencing with the research building rising to his left from what was in his perspective, the wall of the immense sphere of distorted space.
The sound of metal rattling entered his ears and he saw a Dark Matter construct crawl it's way onto the fencing he stood on. It looked like a spider out of hell, large bulbous brain attached to multiple legs. And a cybernetic scorpion like tail that glowed a hellish orange. (^2)
"Oh come on, that thing's Fiction! whats next? A green suited marine who's too angry to Die?"(^2A) Shouted Tatemiya as he ducked away from multiple bolts of orange hellish Telesma like thing.
…
Agnese, Angelene, Lucia, and Agnese's forces found themselves alongside Stiyl. They were busy fending off now insane Anti-skill and Judgement members. When a massive explosion knocked all but the judgement Teleporter, who was too busy trying to reach the now once more sane Electromaster. And failing, as she kept teleporting to the wrong area.
Giggling from the source of the explosion caught their attention and Agnese felt her eyes widen. Only one thing could have that much mana, and that thing shouldn't exist. Agnese saw Stiyl's eyes narrow as he glared at the source.
The smoke and dust cleared as standing in the center of unconscious and injured Judgement and Anti-skill was a cutely dressed blond girl. She was completely normal looking… If you ignored her blood red irises and the large rainbow chandelier wings behind her. She burned with mana and a large flaming sword was in her hands as she giggled.
"Hey, hey! You all seem tough enough, Play with me!" She shouted, revealing two sharp canines. A vampire? Impossible right? if you ignored a simple fact. Dark Matter could do the impossible using non-existent laws. The little vampiric child swung her blade up as multiple nonsensical magical circles appeared all around. And rained spheres of energy in complex patterns at the magicians. (^3)
…
Kamijou looked forward Toward's Celt who strode forward, the mass of energy pushing Touma back. The Massive Lovecraftian Tentacles extending from her back, the throbbing in Touma's mind becoming humming as an image flashed in his mind.
A dark plane where time stood still, a vast beast rose from the black ocean. Tentacles covered it's face, and large bat wings extended from it's back.
'No, not now, there's work to do' Touma forced the image back adrenaline helping in his focus.
"Bane of fey, I'm honestly shocked you can navigate this place, it should have driven anyone not used to using magic mad. And yet here you are dancing through it like it was natural." her nebulous eyes narrowed "I'd almost say you've delt with something like this before, in fact. I'd venture to say you've experienced something exactly like this many a time." the Leann Sidhe, who had become a Great Old One said.
Kamijou grinned nervously as he deflected the beam to the side and tumbled out of Celt's next attack which hit at an impossible angle for normal 3 dimensional space. "Who knows, maybe this Kamijou-san has, wouldn't be a stretch with my misfortune." He ducked around a corner popping out behind Celt as he reared his fist back.
Celt Intercepted with a pillar of stone, Kamijou merely ducked to the side as he found himself on an area of ground above Celt and jumped down. "I will not fall for you're promises, I will not let you trick me with your lies." Celt shouted as the tendrils from her back flowered out as she bent forward. That maw opened up as multiple Tendrils shot out to grab Kamijou.
Instead Kamijou tumbled mid air disappearing behind one of the Tendrils and leapt our from behind one that Celt was retracting from infront of her, fist reared back. "If that's what you think about me, If those are the words your Ainmire told you." he spoke to celt as she Leapt upwards a mass of earth, teleported rocks, electricity and more rained down on Kamijou.
Instead of being crushed by the bolder of broken earth that she threw at him. Touma ducked under it and popped out next to Celt. He quickly grabbed one of her Tendrils and tugged.
However it was with his right hand and it detached from her disintegrating before it could affect her. She lept back as a new one, replaced the one she lost and disappeared behind a security gate. Then appearing at the top of the towering research facility at the center.
"˝®å√ˆ†¥ ∑´¬¬ †®åπ"
The impossible words spoken caused the area outside the distorted space to go black. Kamijou found himself falling towards Celt, in fact, everyone found themselves falling towards her.
He wasn't sure exactly what she said, but he knew the general gist 'Gravity-well trap' They could not get out, nothing could get in, and they'd all be forced towards her.
Kamijou felt himself falling faster and faster towards Celt, Air burned at his skin and he felt gravity itself increased. Celt looked to him fury on her face but a small grin as well.
"I shall not allow my people to fall by your hand, my kind will not die so, Imagine Breaker Bane of Fey." She sent a mass of attacks of all kinds towards Kamijou. Electrical bolts, ionized spheres, Dark Matter feathers and weapons. Chunks of Earth, jets of water, spears of fire, compressed air. wells of distorted gravity, rifts of space, accelerated objects. Any and all Esper powers that she had, boosted by her bard magic. All of it being thrown from all directions and more in the non-euclidean space. Words incomprehensible spoke and space time, reality itself would shift to it's will.
In that moment Kamijou felt fear once again as he closed his eyes, but words from a no good fake cooled him.
"Do, It, Right"
And he opened his eyes once more.
…
To Index, what she saw was beyond belief, but at the same time made perfect sense.
Beyond belief because Touma was achieving it, made perfect sense because she could understand the space around them.
When She had seen Celt throw all those attacks at Touma, she had cried out his name in fear. For the smallest of moments, she wondered if it was the real Touma at all, after all. She swore she saw a sickly green and reddish pink hue in his eyes when they opened. But it was her imagination, she knew that.
But then the next moment what she saw was beyond what she imagined possible for the boy. He whipped around so fast she could barely see him, knocking projectile energy attacks into each other. He used the solid attacks meant to crush him without resistance as footholds to leap around and through the space. He navigated the Non-euclidian landscape, like he had done it countless times before. He weaved in and out of sight, through corners, around bends past the tendrils surrounding Celt.
Those same Tendrils were causing Kanzaki, the Amaksusas, Misaka, Stiyl, Itsuwa, Tatemiya, Agnese and her forces. Everyone includes her trouble keeping them from even getting close to Celt. Index found herself needing to be grabbed and moved by Misaka, who had that treacherous god on her shoulder for some reason. As a Tentacle'd jaw slammed into her prior position.
And Touma spoke "You came to kill me, cause you thought I was plotting to kill you fey. So your quarrel is not with those who fight alongside me. If you chose to fight me alone, then you'd have done no wrong in my eyes." He glared at her as he leapt and dashed around the space in a ballet that was more complex than Celt's
"But, You dragged innocent lives into your fight, people who had no relation to my perceived plans. You endangered people I cared for, attacked people that never even knew Magic existed. And Killed innocent people, so, for that and more" Touma was now directly in front of Celt.
Her eyes were wide in shock, fear covered her face as she saw his fist thrown forward. She threw her arms in front of her face and pulled the tendrils back to strike Touma. But, she was too slow as Touma's fist came barreling. Towards her face he said one last thing.
"I'll shatter all of those fucked up illusions so you can start from scratch!" And his fist passed just over her crossed arms. It slammed into her face and a loud shattering noise was heard. A shockwave burst out as Space forcefully returned to Normal, the space Touma and Celt were standing in was the top of the tower. But now it was the center of the research building. The last thing of Celt that Index saw before space returned to normal the dark sky hanging over head. was her regretful face. As the tendrils and Edritch form crumbled away revealing the pure Leann Sidhe inside.
But just as her face held regret, it held one other emotion.
Thankfulness

Now then the scene I mentioned that Drgonrails helped with was the scene where Muireann is saved by Touma. He came up with the basic idea on the fly and I was like YES! YESSS! That's perfect for her. If you noticed throughout the story, that young Selkie has been gradually reducing the number of weeks until she'd be willing to 'give Touma her coat' in Selkie terms… marry him. Her thing is going to 'reasonable extremes'. Hence why as a way to atone for her sins against Touma. She somehow thought it a good idea to place a binding pact on her. When writing her I just went with what I felt would… work for her. There were moments where I wrote something and a part of her personality would click.
And hey depending on how well that scene is received, my buddy Dragon-rails suggests I make a Omake. But, like I said, up to you guys. (And how I'm feeling)
But anyways I hope you tune in next-time The bastard behind the fey will be making his appearance.
