Welcome back to LoCG I don't got much in mind to say as my brain is doing multiple things at a time right now. So lets do reviews.

Whwsms:{I assume that means the one guest response that has your signature 'carry on, then' is yours So I'll respond to it here

I mean I had to have something to help them get out of a pinch. And I figured they'd be the type to make their way there as well.

Yeah, Stiyl really had that coming didn't he, it is hard to remember he's 14. I hope you all look forward to his development I got planned in this story. I hope Kamachi also develops him more in canon.

Indeed Accelerator has joined the fray and all questions about what he's been up to will be answered.}

5had0wHand:{Ironic and sad and funny all at the same time… huh didn't think of it the way.

Ollerus and Fiamma would have gotten involved with the fey issue. It only makes sense they'd at least get there for MG Index. Oh please we all know Accel's worried sick about Touma.

No actually the reference to an Armored serpent is a very specific reference based on a joke I made that actually spawned the idea for this story. And Index didn't talk to them no it was describing her in a sense.

Well I mean how else was he supposed to figure out his girl Fukouda was being messed with.

Honestly doing reactions is one of the funner things for me. So having to figure out how they'd react to phases was a good one.

This is a good way to explain it. The base is the pure world and every layer is a phase.}

Onilink500:{My first non-english review, I apologize ahead of time for anything I get wrong. I am not someone who knows Spanish. So… I'm working with google translate here… bear with me k?

Okay, so If im correct, your saying you see this as an event where Touma rejects Index and she goes completely mad/yandere. At which point Kamijou no Touma gets fed up and calls Touma's attention to him in order to aid him. Using whatever power lies inside of Imagine Breaker Am I correct?

If So… you are indeed very, very close, Im my point of View, Kamijou Touma will reject Index. And while that isn't the reason she'll snap she will be much more unhinged by that point. And damn you are good at predicting. Yes KnT Will, without a shadow of a doubt. Be having some role in helping Touma stop index.

As for the 'spell' you gave while I appreciate the idea It doesn't fit in with what we already know. Or the systems in toaru, I do have something planned however. And I still apprecieate the idea. Might help with any further ideas of mine too.}

Guest:{Asgard is not from marvel, it's originally from norse mythology. One of the nine realms of the world tree. It's the home of the Asier gods, sooo not sure why you think it's marvel.}

With that out of the way, I think it's time the questions to what Accel has been up to are answered. Let this Tale of an Infinity commence once again.

Chapter 37

To Chain a Devourer

In a room without windows and only one door. A young, Human sat in a chair leaned back arm over his head to cover his eyes. His shoulder length hair was pure white and his eyes were a deep crimson red. He bit his lip in regret, sorrow and fury.

Yes, this was the board Chairman of Academy City. This was the one and only Accelerator, the number one esper of Academy City. A new-found abyss crosser, but despite all his power. He was still ultimately… human, and as all humans do. He makes mistakes, and he made a big one today.

'How did it come to this?' the boy who was truly human said to himself. 'Damn it'

It had been 8 hours since contact with the assault group on Celt first was lost. Of course the first 7 hours were quiet. Accel had to quash any attempts by the board to take drastic measures.

The board had been pushing to declare all those in the assault KIA after the entire space of the old level 6 shift facility became a distorted mess of multi-dimensional space. Those bastard Idiots were attempting to use a new aged fusion bomb on the 'threat'.

But Accelerator knew better, he knew things they didn't. Such as, "Qliphah" muttered that human, disguised as a monster.

In response the trashcan in the corner of the room wobbled. The junk, paper, thrown out plates and more. All flew into a vortex in the air before a popping sound was heard. What came out looked like a cross between a jellyfish, a squid and a girl with bat wings. She wore a dress made of old newspapers and trash. Each of her proportions were individually beautiful, but they were completely off balance of each other.

She was undoubtedly what one would call a demon. Accelerator went to open his mouth. But the translucent demon merely turned around and picked up the trash as if already knowing what her contractor was going to say.

"Yes Master!" the demon named Qliphah said as she floated upside down next to the human.

Accelerator merely grumbled "what's the status of the damn hero's team?"

Qliphah looked quizzically at her master for a moment. Before grinning a shark toothed grin and giggling. "Oh!? You really did care for that boy Kamijou- owowowowow not my Taiiiiilll!" Her unwarranted taunting got her tail, a long thing ending in a squid's succers. Tugged on by the unamused esper.

"Whats… their… status" he hissed out.

The demon reluctantly relented, she was enjoying the attention after all. "Since the spy's last contact? They have been trying to regroup." She then shivered, showing an emotion she rarely showed.

Fear

Accelerator narrowed his eyes, "So… that's how bad that nun's gotten."

Qliphah merely nodded "After the death of the Imagine Breaker… whatever she did? It's not merely being a magic god, abysswalker? Hah! Even if you weren't a fledgling with no experience you'd have a rough time. She's consuming phases… their entirety. I don't think she's limited to the trees either. If anything, she's a living abyss gradually consuming more and more until It becomes everything."

Accelerator clicked his tongue "So even if I had wanted to use Clonoth on her. Doing so might just speed up this process and make her unstoppable!" he slammed his fist onto the table. "How the fucking hell did it get to this point!?"

He knew full well how it got to this point. He was too naive, again, he didn't keep a close enough eye on things. Was too inactive, and that inaction let the darkness grow once again.

This time in the form of delay after delay, distraction after distraction. Continually trying to stop the board of directors from being complete and utter idiots. Something that he knows he couldn't keep doing. He was new to the adult world, they were not.

Politics, truly it was a thing he wished he had never had to even hear the name of.

It wasn't something he could threaten, it had no mind to break.

It wasn't something he could kill, It had no life to drain.

It wasn't something he could reflect, It had no direction or magnitude.

It was merely a societal construct made to create stability. Abused by corrupted individuals who sought to exploit it. And worse it made it really difficult to undo stupid ass decisions. Like bombing the center of a city just because the board felt threatened. And wanted to make a show of power.

Accelerator would be fine in that explosion, and sure he could save a few people too. But he couldn't protect all he cared about.

And he definitely couldn't protect that hero, that damn hero.

But all of that fuss, allowed that bastard he now knew as Ainmire. To carve through their defenses while he was busy holding the board of directors in check. He thought he could leave it to the city and to the anglicans. He thought he could leave it to the magicians.

He thought

He could leave it to that damn hero, and that everything would be alright.

But it was not alright, Ainmire carved straight through all of their defenses. FIVE_Overs, new age weapons and tanks. And worse of all, their own espers. Children, his students, allies. And even the few friends he had, though he would never admit it.

He only learned once it was too late when an urgent call came in the middle of a Board call informed him that, ITEM had fallen. And that Ainmire was in conflict with Kamijou Touma. But just as he had wavered, yearning to return to the battlefield. He faultured, the hero's victory wouldn't matter if the board managed to get their decision through.

'How childish I still idolize him don't I?' He laughed sardonically. "Anything else?" he asked the demon.

Qliphah bobbed in the air floating like she was in microgravity. "Not much, The Index last I checked had vanished. I was however unable to locate where she went. And the remnants of the taskforce sent after Celt had regrouped along with Celt." she informed them.

Before Accelerator could say anything the door at the front of the room flew open. And a familiar blond spy entered. Gasping for air he leaned against the door "I got good news, and bad news nyahh, which do you care to listen to first?"

Accelerator didn't even hesitate "Bad news, I need to know what's needing to be fixed first. Before those idiots on the board Nuke the damn nun."

Tsuchimikado laughed nervously "ahah yeah, that… That would be the bad news nyah, Index attempted to attack Stiyl and drew attention. Meaning the Board's gotten an ID on her. Now all they need is info, which knowing them? Will take about…6-9 hours depending on how stubborn they are."

he paused for a moment before continuing. "Of course that's nothing compared to Index herself, the exact limit of her capabilities. If any while unknown are not looking at all favorable. The Archbishop is gonna call later once she's gotten ahold of someone who does know the limits. She herself only has guesses, not having achieved godhood." The sunglasses spy finished.

Qliphah spun in the air, "if that's the bad news the good news better be exceedingly good nyeehehe".

Tsuchimikdo grinned "Kamijou Touma is alive and well, but his location is unknown. However we do know Index knows where he is."

Accelerator nearly jumped up "That damn hero is alive!? I fucking knew it!" he laughed a cackle like a hyena's "Nothing can kill that fucking hero!" He then fell back into the chair and placed his hands across each other. "Where do we go from here?" he asked.

As if to answer him, a shimmering light appeared in front of Tsuchimikado. It shifted in form until it's appearance was the same as that of Celt's. Before speaking "Tsuchimikado Motoharu? Can you hear me? Are you there?"

Hamazura was glad to hear the voice of Accelerator, which shocked him. He and his girlfriend sat next to each other in the vast throne room of Asgard. They both were along with everyone else sitting near Celt.

Hamazura wasn't an expert in magic, but he had gotten info from some really valuable sources. So he got a semi-understanding of it.

From what the deer footed woman Baobhan Sith had said. The spell celt had used was similar in a sense to what was called astral projection. From what he understood that was like being able to talk to someone across the world. Without needing any phones or technology.

The exact method she was using was one supposedly used to commune with the dead. But it was modified by Celt to allow one to talk to those in other phases. A fundamental point of its workings however was that the one projecting's perception of time was matched to the one being visited. This way they could actually have a conversation in real time.

In this case, they were the 'visitors' and Tsuchimikado was the 'visited'. They had explained as much of the situation as they could before getting down to the strategy. Something, Hamazura wasn't sure he could help with.

"So, Asgard, and you're saying that Othinus was in fact. The Odin of norse myths?" Tsuchimikado said in disbelief. However, his voice was overwhelmed by the laughter of Accelerator.

"So the damn hero bagged himself a literal god of myth! Why am I not surprised!?" he cackled. Ah… that's made my day, anyways" his tone became serious. "We only got 6-9 hours before the board does that idiotic thing I mentioned. So we need a plan, and now! What are we gonna do in order to keep that nun from running rampant? And from a city being nuked?" the number one esper asked, causing Hamazura, Mugino and even Misaka to gape in shock.

Accelerator, never asked for help, and he never worked with people. Not directly at least, so for him to say 'we' was him saying he wanted their help. It was about as rare as seeing a pig fly. Wait, Hamazura could see a Kihara make a flying pig for shits and giggles.

Stiyl blew out a puff of smoke, having calmed down a little. His voice was still shaky but he managed to get his words out fairly calmly. "We should first establish what her foundation was. Becoming a magic god is no easy feat, and it's imperative to have a firm foundation. If we learn that we can use that in our plan to stop her." he sighed and leaned back.

Itsuwa nodded "I think it's safe to assume she used Fenrir, It was a new moon and there were three earthquakes. It's near the end of winter, and then Ainmire caused a fire to scorch the ground."

Kanzaki muttered to herself "On the last days of thimble winter the earth shook three times, the binds of fenrir shattered. Skoll ate the sun, and Hatie ate the moon. Brother killed brother and fires burned the land." she shivered "As much as the myths we know were influenced by christianity. The effects of Idol theory are not diminished. But what Index did wasn't just Idol theory. She ate an actual original of which Idol theory drew upon."

Tatemiya sighed "Sooo… Gleipnier will be an important part of our plans. Possibly the Shoe of Víðarr as well."

However a voice from the other end interrupted. One Hamazura recognized from the time at the bar where Kamijou Touma had a neon-arm. "Nyeehehe! If that was all my master could have handled it on his own. Index didn't just use the myth of fenrir and become Fenrir. She piggybacked the Idol theory in a way only she could. Wolves eating gods to Skoll and Hattie. Devouring of celestial bodies and gods to Kronos and Coyolxauhqui so on and so forth. Pouring her power, the four elements, and the power of the world into it. She's not limited to any religion, in fact I wouldn't be shocked if Idol theory of her could be used now." The demon called Qliphah spoke.

"Not a chance in hell!" Stiyl shouted at the top of his lungs. Slightly red in the face before going quiet and sitting down.

"Nyah Stiyl-san you weren't thinking anything dirty were you?" Tsuchimikado teased before a slam was heard followed by breaking wood. "ow! right right, not the time."

"Either way" the young Selkie known as Muireann said as she shifted nervously. "We'll need those two things at least." she paused until the grey skinned goat hoofed girl. Galistic poked her and smiled. "Now it's a matter of figuring the others out and finding a way to get them to work in a single spell together, right?" she asked.

Mugino scoffed, but smiled be it sadistically "From what i'm getting girl? Yes, that's exactly what we're needing to do. I'm gonna hate magic, so fucking complicated. Like seriously no matches of power it's fucking rock paper scissors" Causing Hamazura to blink in confusion.

All of the magicians blinked for a moment.

"You know when you phrase it like that" Fiamma stated.

"Magic battles really are about figuring out whether your opponent is using rock, paper or scissors in its most basic, simplified, boiled down sense" Ollerus snickered.

Mugino smirked "Well then, lets fucking crack this bitches code."

...

"Index, Librorum Prohibitorum" A male voice said.

"No matter how you look at that, it's a fake name!" said another, be it younger.

"Clearly she was a spy from the outside. She's listed as having Eidetic memory!" spoke a female voice.

"Indeed, but we still cannot make a consensus." A elderly male voice said.

"Sadly, but we do have a good excuse to start with" a younger female voice said.

"Let us find out just who this.. Index is, and then we can kill her." A elderly female voice said.

"And then finally we won't have the fucking UN breathing down our necks! And we can kick that useless chairman out of his position!" a final male voice said.

Index stopped as she made her way through the grasslands of Australia. She could not find Stiyl anywhere, he just… Vanished! and she was beginning to feel hungry again. She glanced around, Fauna, both carnivorous and herbivorous all fleeing as soon as her eyes passed them. An Alligator that had stuck it's head out of a river. Instantly dived back down as soon as Index looked it's way.

They all instinctively knew that she was the true top of the food-chain. Index felt her stomach growl as she snapped a branch off a small 1 meter tree. It's leaves looked slightly fuzzy, clusters of black colored berries hung in clusters on it . And a white liquid dripped from the broken branch.

Index nawed on the branch of what she knew to be the plant, deadly nightshade as she thought.

Then, she felt something, it was weird like someone was messing with how fast her body's metabolism ran.

And she smiled coldly

"Found you Stiyl~"

...

"So, we got the basics down" Confirmed Kanzaki.

Galistic nodded "As far as the celtic side of things go I think we can say so."

"Indeed dear sister" Baohban sith said.

"I'll check with Etzali for anything on the Aztech end we may have missed Nyah!" Tsuchimikado chimed.

"The Anglicans got, norse, Lovecraft, and christianity covered" Stiyl stated.

"I'll see what I can do about the greek side of things. I may not be a magician but I can at least figure out what we can use." Misaka chimed in.

"I'll see if I and my forces can double check the other's including Hindu, buhdist and the other Asian countries." Agnese assured.

Mugino got up "Meaning, all we need to do is find thing that either invoke the physical or symbolic image of the items." She then Smirked, "ITEM will handle the shinto side of that. who'd have thought that poetry class would come in handy."

"These things are super metaphorical in some ways. I mean Look at Odin!" remarked Kinuhata gesturing in the direction of the statues.

Hamazura nodded "And finding a good place to set the spell..."

Celt nodded "We all got our roles, I trust you'll be there when the time comes, Accelerator?" the Leann Sidhe asked.

"Who the fuck do you think I am? I'll be waiting for you guys at the finish line." retorted the Number one esper.

"Then let's not waste any more time" Ollerus said.

Fiamma began to get up "You think you can cast that Hliðskjálf" spell?" the man who started WWIII asked.

"I should," Ollerus confirmed.

Muireann nodded "Right then so when we get back I-" but she didn't get to finish her sentence.

The entire room shuddered and the communication spell was cut off.

"What!? How we were only there for like 10 minutes right?" Hamazura shouted in shock Takitsubo, narrowing her eyes before speaking.

"10 minutes outside of Asgard" the AIM Stalker said, causing Hamazura's eyes to widen.

"We need to get out of here NOW!" Misaka shouted as she ran towards the throne. The Throne room itself had begun to shudder and crack. Muirean watched in horror while she ran as she saw the Statues at the entrance fall over shatter and crumble. For a moment the cracks on the faces made it look like they were crying.

"Any time now, half god!" shouted Stiyl.

"I'm working as fast as I can flame magician!" snapped Ollerus as he drew symbols around the Throne. It flickered and shifted it's translucent form constant shifting between different locations.

A dark underground forge where the ceiling had begun to collapse. Dark skinned humans covered in soot and ash. Desperately attempting to hold back the cave in using tools and weapons of impossible make-up.

An Infernal plane where the fires had begun to die out. And a flaming Giant holding an immense burning sword began to fall to his knees. His sword piercing the ground igniting the world around in effort to stave off the end.

A frozen wasteland that began to melt. An immense cow falling to the frozen ground.

A glittering forest where beautiful elven people held their families as the world fell away around them.

A quaint town where groups of people looked to the crumbling lands in shock and confusion. Their farmland and livestock falling off the edge. A woman with long hair and a air of divinity hustling a group of warriors to aid in holding back the end.

A stoney mountainous area where groups of humanoids of varying sizes panicked and ran as their world crumbled around them.

A flowing field where a Half dead woman could be seen running with a blond haired girl with a barret. A clear line cut across her midsection as she ran from the crumbling world to a vast ship made of ivory and calcite.

And of course

A city which had just experienced the horrors of battle. Scarred and broken, but alive and standing.

Asgard shook and Muireann turned around in fear.

And immediately regretted it.

"Stiyyylllllll! You hurt Touma, you tried to kill Touma! You're unneeded in his world" The Eater of worlds shouted as she wandered her way towards them.

Unrecognizable was the girl who was once a nun. Her body remained mostly the same however was more mature, filled out even. Clad in odd steel-blue armor that seemed to flex and shift to her movement. It had platinum-blue plates on the joints and above her fair chest. A set of two ebony purple spikes plates lay above her chest and above her waist facing away from each other mirrored on either side. A head-guard which's sides were a storm blue, it's shape giving the feel of horns or mandibles. It lacked guards for her upper legs or arms. But had sharp claw-like gauntlets, and boots like spikes. Crystals of the same color as her cosmic purple eyes were embedded in them. It gave the feel of the segments of an invertebrate, with two pointed cullets. Storm blue plates filling the spaces between each segment. Her hair had become a vibrant violet as energy coursed through it.

She walked slowly towards them, smiling sweetly. Swaying slightly side to side as she did so. It gave off an air of playful childishness. But that was completely contrasted by her appearance and the world crumbling behind her. Nothing but a dark howling wind was left in her wake.

"Stiyl, I'm hungry" That Devourer of realities said as she tilted her head and closed her eyes smiling still. "I'd appreciate it if you fed me." Her jaws stayed ever slightly open as she smiled.

"How!? Is she somehow actively absorbing the phase!?" Muireann muttered in horror as she felt like that, at any moment. She'd find those jaws around her head.

"GET US OUT OF HERE NOW!" Stiyl shouted.

"Done! Everyone through, Hliðskjálf!" Ollerus spoke quickly. As soon as he had the throne shuddered and became a gate. The other side showing the inside of Academy City.

Stiyl Immediately hopped through and as Muireann passed through shortly after.

As she exited the gate Muireann heard the blood-curdling roar of the Library of Consumed gods.

"STIIIIIYYYYLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"
