5had0wHand:{But but that's the point, she wants him to be happy so making things easier is a must XD.
No you are not the only one feeling pity, but let's admit Touma was lucky going as long as he did without a Yandere god popping up.}
whwsms:{Lets admit she'll keep it going as long as she has an excuse to protect Touma.
Indeed and the next installment is here.
Only Kamisato can Isekai, Index noms you you don't get isekai…. Lets just hope that none of the girls in the outside world flip that switch.}
Tommthecommie:{Indeed she did, what are you implying ;)}
Guest1:{should be fixed now, it was mentioned to me before}
Well then now with those out of the way, last time Touma had realized Index was up to something. BUT TOO BAD! You don't get to see what happens in the library next! Lets go see what happened to the team after they left Asgard!
Let this tale of an infinity commence once again.
Chapter 39
Hunted prey and chains
Index stood there shaking in anger as Hliðskjálf closed.
He had gotten away… again, the man who pretended to care for her and be her friend. The man who had attempted to kill Touma. Had gotten away again, Stiyl Magnus.
She wanted him to suffer, she wanted to feel him struggle as she ate him. She wanted to hear his cries of agony and pleas for mercy. She wanted to feel him die inside of her as she devoured him.
And unlike the magic gods he wouldn't just be broken down instantly. No, she would let her body take care of him the natural way. He would suffer and burn and die within her. She'd tear his soul as she stole his memories and knowledge until it was unrecognizable.
Stiyl, his mere name caused her blood to boil in rage. She hated him, she hated him for trying to kill Touma, She hated him for pretending to care about her. She hated him for his petty acts of revenge, she hated him for his lack of remorse .She hated him almost as much as she hated Othinus.
She paused for a moment on that thought. Yes she hated Stiyl about as much as that god. But Othinus was the reason she even knew Stiyl tried to kill Touma. She had her memories after all, that and everything else about that god.
She paused for a moment and stood there. In reality she wasn't actually in Asgard, well Asgard was in her. She merely projected herself into it the same way she did the world she kept Touma safe in.
She Frowned as she stood there in the streets of Sydney Australia.
'I Remember what Othinus did, I remember what she's been through.' She bit her lip in agony. 'I remember what she felt' a tear rolled down her face. 'But I can't trust it, are these feelings hers? Mine? Did she really not want to betray Touma?' Index shook her head as she walked by a couple who were taking a picture of the Opera house. The action made Index feel jealous.
She wanted to have that with Touma, but she couldn't. She had to protect him, he was her world.
'No, she couldn't, she's Odin. Odin can't love anyone, Odin betrays everyone.' Index told herself, she wouldn't accept it. No way did Othinus truly feel that deep connection to her Touma. That monster betrayed her closest friends, how could she fall in love? And with a highschool boy who fought her no less.
'It's merely a failsafe, clearly a last ditch effort by her to have me bring her back.' She frowned 'Guess she didn't know I can't, she's not just dead. Her essence has been fused to me.' She began to walk again, she was hungry. 'Her soul, mind and body, it was all broken down and made part of me. It's not so easily undone, and without a body. Even if I did manage to reconstruct her soul it wouldn't be able to stay in this world.'
Her stomach growled and she spun on her heel, vanishing once more.
...
Muireann spun around just as she exited the gate to make sure everyone made it out of Asgard. Just as Ollerus passed through, the gate collapsed and Ollerus fell to his knees crying out in agony. Something was being ripped out of him, something intangible.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhrrrrggggg!" Ollerus screamed as something was ripped out of him and pulled into the gate which had fallen in upon itself. As soon as it vanished Ollerus stopped screaming.
"Shit!, what happened half god!? What happened!?" Fiamma the man who started world war three asked.
"I-Index.. Sh..she took Hliðskjálf from me!" Ollerus said, gasping.
Kanzaki looked panicked "How!?"
Ollerus looked at her annoyed "How do you think? She ate Asgard! That included Hliðskjálf Odin's throne" he slowly. Shakily stood up Fiamma helping him.
Muieann realized what that meant. "So… yo..your saying"
"Even if we wanted to go back." Misaka continued, eyes wide in horror.
"We can't, she cut off our escape." Stiyl laughed sardonically.
Mugino was on guard looking around. "Then where the hell is she!?"
Kinuhata raised her fists despite knowing it would be pointless. "Yeah if she super made sure we can't escape her. Why hasn't she come to kill the red haired priest?"
Galistic and Baobhan Sith stood back to back as they observed the area they were in. "I wouldn't wanna see her but." Galistic started.
"Indeed dear sister, at least seeing her we can try to predict her actions." Baobhan replied.
Agnese held her staff out as she eyed the immediate area. "Stiyl's alive and present so maybe she's not here?"
Hamazura Shiage glanced at Takisubo who gazed around for a moment. And then shook her head "no, I don't detect her presence and there is no possible way for me to mistaken… that." she said.
But that did nothing to ease people's tensions.
Yomikawa narrowed her eyes "If she's not here… then where is she?"
Celt thought for a moment before speaking. "She said she was hungry."
Merely remembering that… being, saying those words caused Muireann to shiver in fear.
"S-so!? What does that have to do with anything? She seemed dead set on eating that priest guy!" Misaka shouted pointing at Stiyl
Kanzaki's eyes widened "she disappeared before after saying that right? If she eats gods then, maybe."
All the fey's eyes widened "The new world" Muireann stated getting odd looks from the magicians.
"The new what?" Fiamma rose an eyebrow.
Celt sighed in relief "before we came here, we had a run in with a Xaing Shi named Naing Naing. She was one of the magic gods, she told us about a place where she and the others were sent." Celt shook her head "I guess she just wanted to tell us celtic fey that our god was safe."
Itsuwa looked confused "so what? She just can hop into this 'new world' and then what?"
Muireann shivered "Devour the gods, what else could have the phases to fuel her?". A short silence followed after the Selkie spoke.
"Well, she took a bit last time right?" Misaka asked, smiling unstably.
Mugino began heading in a direction "Then what are you idiots waiting for!? We need to get those items now!" She glared at Muireann causing her to jump. "You! With me"
"W-why me!?" Muireann shouted and began following ITEM.
"Yeah Mugino, Super why her? She's not really done anything." Kinuhata said as she ran alongside Mugino.
Mugino grinned savagely "cause she looks easy to get info out of." Causing Muireann to cry on the inside.
Before she left however she heard Kanzaki. "A moment, Muireann Conan?" she asked. Mugino eyed her but she waited.
"Yes?" Muireann asked suspiciously.
Kanzaki sighed and smiled "I understand your trepidation, you don't exactly have good experience with the Anglican church". She stopped in front of Muireann. "But you have no reason to fear me. I took the name of Salvera for a reason, and I won't do anything to violate it if I can." A sad flicker crossed her face.
Muireann raised an eyebrow but remained cautious "So?".
Kanzaki became serious. "Muireann Conan, your parents did nothing but good. It would be wrong of us to dishonor them by treating you any less just because you felt afraid."
The mention of her parents caused Muirean to pause. "Wh..what do mah parents have to do with this?" she asked shakily.
Kanzaki looked at Muireann with soft eyes "Because your parent's asked us to protect your normal life." Worry flashed upon the young saint's face. "We cannot protect you now that you've stepped into the world of magic, but." An Amakusa member with a set of three objects walked over. Handing the objects to Kanzaki "We can do our best to make sure you can achieve your wishes." Holding the three Objects forward, Kanzaki smiled.
Unwrapping the objects Muireann felt her eyes widen. Emotion overwhelmed her as she felt her hands shake.
The first was a large blade with norse runes on it. A powerful spiritual Item of her father's. Gram, the sword that slew Fafnir. She looked at it, as tears threatened to form.
The second two were long Ivory pole-arms with wax, colored and designed like muscle fibers covering them. One end of each looked like a hand, right, and left. And they seemed to be made to hold something. They were the arms of the Knucklavee, her mother's spiritual Items. Her heart began to beat quickly, the freezing inside paling in comparison to what she felt now.
Muireann's hands shook as she reached out. But she pulled her hand back unsure "did they save people?" she asked.
Kanzaki closed her eyes smiling sadly "They were found with the bodies of a hundred or so russian and roman catholic magicians, and privateers lying in the snow around them. With a small town behind them, they didn't just save one person. They saved a whole town." she looked her in the eyes. "Just as your parents offered us, the archbishop wants to offer you a chance to work with us. If you accept, we'll make sure you have the tools you need to protect those you care about. And" Kanzaki paused "Show you to the burial sight of your parents, you should at least have that much"
Muireann's shaking hands went to picked up the Gram replica but she pulled them back again. 'Should I? I can't be worthy of them, not after Ainmire fooled me'. But Kanzaki gently grasped her hand and placed it on the handle.
"Your parents would be proud of you" Kanzaki said, and Muirean broke.
Tears flooded down her face as she fell to her knees the three spiritual items. Placed on the ground before her, Kanzaki hugged her as she bawled into her chest. "I-I can't no't afta wha't Ay did!" Muirean cried. "No't afta Ay Hurt Tauma! No't after I lat mahself get triaked bah Ainmire!" Her scotish accent leaking in as she broke down.
Kanzaki grabbed her shoulders and looked her in the eye causing Muireann to go quite. "You saw past his deception and decided to make up for your crimes! Don't you dare think you're any less than your parents. They would be proud of you Muireann Conan, Wolf of the fair sea!" Her words struck Muireann in the heart and she nodded.
Kanzaki smiled and wrapped Gram's holster around Muireann's waist. She placed the holsters for the arms of the Knucklave on her back.
Holding Muireann's hand, Kanzaki helped up the shaking Selkie. "Th-thank ya" she sniffed gaining control over her voice again. "Thank you Kanzaki, I'll make sure that I live up to them. I need to live up to them" Muirean said, her resolve hardening. 'Yes, I can't fail, I need to save Touma….' She paused in thought for a moment. 'When did I start calling him by his given name?'
Carefully lifting the right arm of the Nukelavee, Muireann pulled out one of her two daggers and placed it in the hand. Tightening a nob that was on the elbow she set the grip as she thought. 'Huh, I really do like him, I wonder what father would think.' Repeating the action with the other she made her decision. 'That it, even if the world is to burn I'll do what it takes to make sure he alone at the least is safe!'
"Thank you Kanzaki, I appreciate this, I'll think on that offer. But I have someone I need… no want to save" She said as she turned to follow ITEM, A fiery determination in her eyes.
Mugino's expression had changed. She still held a savage grin, but it wasn't of one looking at prey. It was one that was impressed by what she saw.
Kanzaki nodded as she turned "I was merely doing as he would, and as I was asked. I'm glad i could help you, and I'd be proud to fight alongside you"
Muirean caught up with ITEM "Sorry for the delay, let's find us the shackles to chan a great devourer."
"I may have been wrong about my initial assessment of you girl. Lets see you back it up" Mugino said grinning.
...
Kanzaki, Stiyl, Itsuwa, and Celt Made their way towards the Academy City airports. They were after a particular bit of info regarding the chain Gleipnier. Magic relating to the norse myths was a type Kanzaki and Stiyl were highly familiar with. Kanzaki had needed to deal with a series of events involving them. Including Gleipnier, Naglafar and more. Stiyl used norse runes in his spells, Celt was a Fey of the Celtic myths so she would have come into contact with the ones who spread the myths.
Itsuwa's goal was different but also required to travel overseas. She however was returning to England. In order to complete the spell, It was imperative they interrogate and learn info from the Dusk Awating to Awaken. Itsuwa and the Amakusas had dealings with them before. However It was Itsuwa who solved the incident itself. She would be requesting the info of the Necronomicon. And she would need an expert to sift though it's toxic knowledge.
They dashed their way through alleyways, streets and parking lots. As civillians jumped out of the way, and Anti-skill member's shouted at them. Kanzaki turned to Stiyl "Why is Index so bent on killing you Stiyl" she narrowed her eyes "Is it true, did you try and kill Kamijou Touma?"
Sweat ran down Stiyl's brow as they pushed past a group of delinquents who shouted at them until Kanzaki showed them her Nodachi. Itsuwa glared at Stiyl in suspicion as he seemed to think. "Ahem! He had become a threat to the mission, I could not trust he was not working with Melzebeth Grocerie as part of R&C Occults. He had become a danger to the mission and therefore had to be eliminated." he coughed out.
His words merely got him slammed against a wall by both Kanzaki's nodachi's sheath, and Itsuwa's spear.
"Are you fucking kidding me Stiyl Magnus!?" Itsuwa shouted, bloodlust in her eyes. "That's your excuse!?"
Kanzaki glared Stiyl in the eyes and felt her hands shake. "Itsuwa? This is my responsibility." She said however, Itsuwa didn't back down.
"You're defending this asshole Priestess!?" Itsuwa glared at Kanzaki "He just admited it himself He tried to murder Kamijou-san!"
"Itsuwa!" Kanzaki said sternly, causing Itsuwa to go silent. She knew Kanzaki wasn't taking no for an answer.
Reluctantly, Itsuwa lowered her spear but she still gripped it, eyeing Stiyl.
"Is this still about how he saved Index? Is this still over your attachment to her!?" Kanzaki shouted at the flame magician.
Celt blinked in shock as she stared. "Sheesh love, is this really the time?" which earned her a glare from both Kanzaki and Itsuwa causing her to raise her hands in surrender. "Right then… darn how good is that guy if he's getting wonderful gals like you to get mad for him? I'm jealous of him" the Leann Sidhe hung her head slightly as she spoke.
However, Stiyl, Kanzaki, and Itsuwa weren't listening. The flame magician glared at the saint and her fellow Amakusas. "W...why would it be about that?" he asked, eyebrows twitching as he failed to keep his composure.
"Oh you sick twisted asshole!" Itsuwa shouted as she raised her spear, then fought to lower it.
Kanzaki looked at Stiyl, disappointment filling her being. "You" She sighed and looked at him in pity. "Couldn't you be happy that she no longer had to forget?,That she could be happy without worry of being erased? Are you really so jealous of Kamijou that you'd take away the very person who makes Index happy?" As Stiyl turned his head, biting his lip, Kanzaki frowned. "No wonder she never looked your way."
Stiyl froze as Kanzaki lowered her blade and continued to make her way to the airport. She glanced back as he stared at the ground. "What? Stiyl, is that enough to make you give up on saving her?" He shook and looked up.
For once, Stiyl's face truly made him look his age. A boy who was jealous beyond repair. And missed the girl he had a crush on. A girl so much more intelligent and special than him. And he gritted his teeth, that boy who looked like a man finally answered. "No" he said "I promised I'd protect her, I'm not gonna let her lose herself" He looked up, and glared. "Even if she hates me for doing so."
Kanzaki nodded her head slightly and the four of them continued to the airport.
Celt shrugged as she dashed alongside Kanzaki "So, he's that good huh love?" she asked her.
Kanzaki and Itsuwa's faced went completely red as they stumbled slightly "Wh-wh-what are you insinuating!? You aren't like th-that blond spy are you!?" Kanzaki stammered.
"I-I mean of course he is, the priestess even likes him" Itsuwa muttered rapidly.
Celt glanced back at Stiyl who scoffed "no way he's that good, he's just some idiot kid who's way in over his head."
"Sorry Stiyl, majority rules" Celt smugly smiled turning to Kanzaki and Itsuwa "Shame really loves, I thought I had a chance with you two." causing all three to spit.
They entered district 23 as the night drew to a close where an airplane was waiting for them.
Just as they made their way onto the runway however. Three sets of creatures seemed to materialize around them.
A group of large eyed fish-like humanoid creatures holding various weapons brandished their weapons and aimed them at their group.
Flaming figures holding flaming weapons growled animalistically as they faced the group.
What looked to be multiple humanoid figures of varying sizes mashed together with twisted abominations of sea life foamed at the mouth as they slowly walked towards the group.
"Musphels? Joutens?... no!?" Kanzaki said trembling as she pulled out her nodachi.
"Deep ones?" Itsuwa muttered as she brandished her spear at the fish-people.
Stiyl glared "The flaming ones are definitely Musphellites" he clicked. "The other humanoids… theres definitely Jouten in there but something else."
Celt raised an eyebrow "huh, a fusion of Jouten and starspawn. I must say she's creative" This earned her a look from the others. "What? It's clear Index made them and sent them after us. After all, by consuming the throne of Odin, she can draw upon the other 7 realms. She doesn't even need to consume them in their entirety. So who else could summon Norse creatures' loves?" She began tapping her foot slightly.
The creatures prepared to lunge and Kanzaki looked confused "how did she know?"
...
Index growled as she tore through the new world, she was chasing down the forgotten god. She had already consumed multiple of his abstract attacks. But they weren't an issue, not at all.
No the issue was back in the old world, she was busy trying to state her hunger. And the anglicans, espers and more were taking advantage of the fact she wasn't there. They were trying to find a way to seal her magic away again.
She couldn't allow that, she wouldn't allow it. If they did that, she'd be unable to protect Touma. She understood they were afraid, but she'd resolve that fear. She just needed to talk to them. But to do that they needed to be delayed, well except one person.
'Stiiiiyyllllll! The others can be left alone, but you are mine! I want you to suffer for trying to kill My Touma! I'll let you burn away inside my stomach as I tear apart your soul!' Index growled internally as she used some of the power she had stolen from the forgotten god. She would make suitable distractions, they didn't need to last too long. Just long enough for her to be able to finish her meal in time.
…
Misaka launched herself over a hoard of gross pulsating ooze creatures with many many mouths and eyes. Gritting her teeth she looked forward, other than those ooze were countless dead bodies. Students, espers, teachers and more, she swung around the broken remnants of a skyscraper Ainmire had cut through.
Her eyes went wide as she looked forward realizing she was about to slam face first into one of those oozes that was clung to a wall. She braced for impact, but a familiar sound was heard and she found herself being held.
"Onee-sama! How did you get here!? And what are those things!?" Kuroko said as she teleported her and Misaka onto a rooftop.
"No time to explain Kuroko, we need to get to Uiharu-san, in fact" Misaka thought for a moment. "We'll need Saten-san too."
Kuroko shrugged as she held Misaka's hand "alright I trust you Onee-sama but you better explain."
Misaka nodded "I will, but we need to get to Uiharu-san and Saten-san first!"
Kuroko nodded as they teleported again "Mind explaining why we need them?" she asked "Not that I don't think they'll be useful"
Misaka smiled "It's about time we start hunting urban legends." causing Kuroko to grin.
...
Somewhere in an old house with the roof recently replaced a phone rings. A slender hand picks it up and opens the messages. And frowned slightly "oh? I thought we were done with this kind of work."
…
Fighting the ooze which Misaka had fled from earlier, a dark skinned hand opens a phone and raises an eyebrow. "This better be important if you're dragging me back"
...
In a room without windows, a white haired human waited as a blond haired spy glanced at his phone.
"Well?" Accelerator asked
Tsuchimikado smiled "It appears they're on their way" as he held up his phone
Accelerator grinned as he saw the message that was sent.
[It's about time for a GROUP Reunion]
…
A green beam carved through a twisted fusion of a human and a squid. As a fist slammed through another twisted fusion of a wolf and a starfish. Two bullets pierced the hide of a large snake crab fusion. And an odd waxy pole with a dagger at it's tip carved through an amorphous ooze instantly drying it out.
Muireann leapt over a tendril from the humanoid squid thing as she swung the other arm of the Knucklavee down. The ground around her had dried as the water and moisture was pulled into her. She carved through the tendril finally killing the thing off.
Muigno grinned as she launched two more meltdowner beams at similar creatures. "So! You can fight! I like you girl" She ducked under an attack and swung her left arm. Green energy coursed through it and the impact vaporised the creature. "You don't disappoint" steam came off the arm revealing it to be mechanical.
"Im super more curious about how that magic of her's works" Kinuhata said as she backflipped over another creature of eldritch fusion.
"Signal from the north-northwest" Takitsubo said.
"Thanks Taki!" Hamazura responded as he swung his pistol around and fired. "Aneri!" he shouted and a large truck slammed into the creature he just shot. "Thanks"
Roaring in apparent rage, Muireann's body lit up, runes glowing all over her hair flashing red. She launched herself at a large almost man-starfish, It was very reminiscent of a certain outer god of the author HP Lovecraft. Swinging the two arms of the Kuckelavee down on it. The speed cause them to glow red as they carved straight through a shockwave bursting out from the crater where the creature once stood
She turned around at the shocked but grinning faces of ITEM "I wouldn't mind explaining if we had the time, but I'm saving Touma first!" her declaration got a facepalm from Hamazura which she raised an eyebrow at.
Hamazura laughed and then smiled "Damn boss how is it you manage to attract all these hot badass women?" Causing Muireann to blush slightly "I'm with you on that"
However his girlfriend Takitsubo didn't take it so well "Hamazuraaaaaa you aren't going to choose her over me are you!?" And proceeded to tug on the poor boy's face as he shouted apologies and reassurances.
Mugino raised her own eyebrow "So, this Kamijou Touma is that popular, I can't say I'm not curious. But I do want you to explain your magic, girl." Mugino stated as she launched 6 meltdowner beams at creatures flying in from above.
Leaping upwards and carving through another 6 creatures Muireann shrugged as she growled. "Fine by me" She then stabbed the tips of the arms into the ground and closed one eye. Taking a deep breath she reared back and blew. Black mist filled the area in front of her where a group of creatures were. Roars, screams and then thuds were heard. The mist faded and the creatures that were there were seen bubbling and melting.
Hamazura gulped "remind me not to get on her bad side"
Mugino shrugged the last of the creatures having been dispatched. "If I feel like it"
Kinuhata sat down "If you get on her bad side it's because you did something Super Hamazury"
"Don't worry Hamazura, I'll protect you" Takitsubo said.
Hamazura instantly clung to Takitsubo "Ohhhh! Takitsubo! I don't deserve you!" making the girl in question blush
Muirean rolled her eyes "So what have you stopped for?" she asked.
Mugino smirked "oh? Well that's because we're waiting on you."
Muireann raised an eyebrow "on me?"
Mugino nodded "we were put in charge of getting things for the shinto side of things. Issue is we don't know much about how magic works, you'll need to explain to us a little so we can get the right tools."
Muireann shrugged "alright, then in return I'll have you tell me what items you identify."
Mugino sneered "oh how's that benefit you?"
Muireann glared "It means I become more useful to you and therefore I can get info out of you as much as you get info out of me." she smirked.
Mugino laughed "Ahahah! I was right to choose you! Very well deal! Now spill"
Muireann pulled the two arms out of the ground and placed them in their holders. "Alright, bare with me for a bit"
From there she gave a short explanation of Idol theory and the basics of magic. After which Mugino thought for a moment. "I was right, I hate magic too damn fucking convient, so you're saying that we just need to find an item that either holds a large enough symbolic or physical similarity to the myth. At best, both?" she asked.
Muireann nodded "Indeed, since we're piggybacking Idol theory for the spell however. That really narrows down our options." She tapped her foot impatiently.
Mugino smiled savagely "Oh… I just figured out the perfect things," she began. "First, we got Yamata no Orochi, that's quite easily, I'll carve out eight large tubs from some houses." She turned to Hamazura "You! Get your friends to find as much high-quality Sake as you can!" She then turned to Muireann. "Carving the Kanji for Susanoo and Kushinada will be important. Thus marking the tub and sake as the dragon slaying sake."
Muireann's eyes widened in shock "that's… clever you'd make a good magician if you weren't already an esper." Eliciting a grin from mugino.
Kinuhata yawned "What about Izunami?" she asked
Mugino laughed "Got that part figured out too!" She pointed to a large chunk of a broken building. "We'll need to find a Boulder around that sized and to place it in front of a hole dug in the ground Marked with the Kanji for 'death' and 'Yomi' the boulder should have the Kanji's for 'seal' and 'life' on it A makeshift path and Shrine-gate would help complete it. A makeshift spear with a crystal tip should be placed at the front with the Kanji for Ame-no-nuboku and the entire thing should face east or the rising sun!"
Muireann blinked "I'll handle the boulder, I'm pretty confident in my strength enhancement."
Kinuhata sighed, "I'll deal with the shrine gate stuff."
Mugino looked at Hamazura "You know perfectly well I'm not gonna make some tacky spear."
The delinquent sighed "right right, I'll handle making that, I think I could figure it out." He glanced at Takitsubo "hey, think you could manipulate my AIM so it doesn't clash?" Causing her eyes to go wide.
"Hamzura your not thinking of" she said.
Hamazura grinned "hey if it works then I won't get hurt, if it doesn't I'll just leave it to the experts."
His girlfriend Takitsubo sighed "fine Hamazura I'll support you in this."
Muireann looked at Mugino whose grin broadened to a near crazed look.
"Right then ITEM, let's do this no way that nun is gonna do us in."
…
Kanzaki found herself being pushed back, these creatures at first had been easy to deal with. But they kept coming, and now she was exhausted, the sky was beginning to brighten due to how long they took. She glanced to the side and saw both Celt and Itsuwa were in a similar state. Celt had been using her bard like magic to help them and even tried granting small sparks of inspiration. But it only could last so long when she had no rest or link.
"They just keep coming loves! I don't think I can keep this up" The Leann Sidhe said as she stumbled a moment. A Large flaming fishlike-humanoid with a massive axe bearing down on them.
"Same, priestess!?" Itsuwa shouted out as she stumbled
Glancing to the other side Kanzaki saw Stiyl, he was worse off then the rest of them. Clearly Index's words had more of an effect than he admitted. He kept missing his attacks and when they did hit. They felt half hearted, he was backed into a corner and they weren't making progress.
The large Jouten of the flaming deep, swung up it's axe and roared. But before it could bring the blade down, a flaming blade carved through it's chest. It crumbled to ash but not before an explosion of light ripped through more of the creatures. A crack was heard and an explosion and six more were obliterated.
The dust cleared and Kanzaki felt annoyed as she saw one of the people who stood there.
"Huh, couldn't handle a few dumb abominations of mythology eh Thunder-tits?" a young blond girl said with a smug face wearing a Chic outfit with a color pallet of an old piano. She smugly grinned at Kanzaki holding a spiritual Item in one hand. And a phone in the other which she was typing on. She glanced at it's screen a moment before nodding and pressing a final button. And returning the phone to her pocket
"Not like you were any better once you learned your 'Onii-chan' was in danger" Said a woman who's makeshift outfit gave the feel of a Valkyrie. "You nearly messed up and got hit by a stray attack by that second rate magician when you heard it Birdway." She said, smirking.
"You take that back you bitch!" the girl named Birdway shouted
"Stop you two, It's getting on my nerves and I've already got enough on my plate after this idot got his throne stolen" A woman who wore an outfit that gave the feel of a royal maid holding a whip said. She carried the half god Ollerus over her shoulder.
"Oh, that cold Silvia" he said "Fiamma could you help me here?"
The man who started world war three rolled his eyes as he appeared from behind the Jouten of the flaming deep. It's Axe on the ground next to him. "You got yourself into that I'm not getting you out, Brunhild you seriously had to bring the brat cabal leader along?"
"Oho? Brat?" Birdway said glaring at Fiamma "careful that'll earn you an early grave"
The Valkyrie woman sighed "she's the only other person who knows the extent of a magic god's powers. After all, her and Index were the ones who figured it out during Denmark. Speaking of, you've sent the relevant parties the information right?" she said, turning to Birdway.
Birdway growled at her "The fuck you think I was just doing? I'm not stupid."
Kanzaki shouted, having been ignored "You're kidding me! Birdway! She's the one the Arch-bishop sent!?"
Itsuwa looked at the girl nervously.
Celt shrugged "She's got the brain, but she's too young for me now you two lovely ladies are a different matter."
Stiyl lit a cigarette "So, what are you doing here half god?" he asked Ollerus
The half god turned his head as much as he could while being carried by Silvia like a sack of potatoes. "You'll want an expert on norse mythology if you're going to find the correct spiritual item for this." he smiled "So how about three"
Birdway Scoffed "just get on the plane so we can get this over with and save that fool" she then grinned at Kanzaki. "You owe me by the way, I just saved your life"
Kanzaki was pretty sure that, this was a debt she didn't want to fulfil.
