Welcome back to another Installment of LoCG, sorry for the day delay… though not sure why I'm worried about a schedule I don't have. Guess I just got used to posting on Mondays, but anyways. Had to make some last min adjustments to this chap and my bro rails who checks it over before a post wasn't feeling well enough yesterday. Anyways, onto reviews

5had0Hand:{Honestly I'm shocked Mugino hasn't figured that sort of shit out already. Its well within the field of her ability. It's Saten she's the girl who'd love trying to figure out who would win in a fight between her two favorite characters from different franchises. And would take into account the differences and similarities in world mechanics. Yep it's ironic, when espers don't actually work hard and magic isn't actually easy. Heck Birdway is the perfect example of why magic is hard work actually works.

You'll be seeing more of their banter

Yeah seriously… where's the rouge? They even have a bard

I mean, can you blame them

No introduction needed}

Whwsms:{Well technically she is a full on MG she just is an exception to their issue due to her difference in holding her phase inside her. But yeah, the title Devourer is more apt. Hey, those gods asked for it XD. Yep she's. Not taking kindly to being called out now is she?. Yeah, wait till you see how I interoperate that later. Railgang was never prepared for magic, He is a emo teen now isn't he?}

Hauhentai70:{new face… name.. Unlikely for this fic besides… Index can pass freely between the World Rejector's 'new world' and the main one. So.. what use would WR be? But I would like to mess with his and Kamijou's banter maybe in a different fic though}

Fencer29:{I mean yeah, she probably saw one and thought he's cool should have asked Touma for movies on the G man XD.

He is a nerd, and a geek so it makes sense here}

Onilink500:{glad to see my.. Spanish? Reader again, once again, tis is gonna be a highly rough translation. Google Translate isn't good after all

Yes, well Kuroko doesn't know that so she's seeing magic from an single point of view

When does it ever not get ugly?}

Guest1:{you'll see there, in this chapter actually. He's Touma, you could not underestimate it... And you's still underestimate it}

With that out of the way, remember constructive criticism is both encouraged and desired. Enjoy and let this tale of an Infinity commence once more.

Chapter 42

The Nuclear option

The shuffling of papers was heard as a middle aged male spoke. "Index, she has a guest ID in the city, but she's not from here."

"No, she's English from the looks of it." An older female voice spoke.

A younger male voice growled. "English, the prior board chairman had contact with the church there."

"No way is she actually a nun, especially with that appetite that she's reported to have." the middle aged male's voice said.

The younger male sighed "Agreed, it's obviously a cover for her real position."

"Indeed, interestingly this Index didn't get the ID until late august of last year." A middle aged female voice spoke.

A younger female voice groaned "And it was the prior board chairman who authorized it. During that time she had come into contact with multiple level 5s. Including the number one who has a soft spot for young girls."

"She's also been in contact with multiple teachers and researchers. With her Eidetic memory she had more than enough time to learn what she needed to replicate the power curriculum." An Elder male voice muttered "That bastard Aliester, he must have wanted her to take us down." A fist slammed on the table.

"It's a shame that we didn't notice sooner. Let's look further, even if she's from England that doesn't mean she works for them. Her name and status as a nun might be fake, but it might lead us to her real purpose." A final voice spoke "Let us find out who this Index holds allegiance to."

Itsuwa groaned as she leaned back in a chair inside the Tower of London. She was in the Interrogation room and just had gotten done questioning a particularly annoying prisoner.

Arlands Darkstreet, a 'former' leader of the cabal The Dusk Awaking to Awaken. A group obsessed with bringing the stories of H.P. Lovecraft to reality. The man had once tried to use information from the Grimoire the Necronomicon to summon the city of R'lyeh in the strait of Dover.

At first, Itsuwa had attempted to be reasonable with him. Talk to him like a person and explain why he needed to tell her what she needed to know.

However all she got was laughter and crazed devotional speeches from the man. So she decided to.. Persuade him. By which she means knocked him out and ripped the knowledge out of his skull using magic.

The entire ordeal had left her exhausted and she wished she could sleep. But there was no time for that, she had to get back to the airport and get on the supersonic jet waiting for her.

As she got up and prepared to leave the info she had gained safely in her head. She thought back to what Birdway had told her and the others on her way here.

'Normally I'd be unable to believe it, but I saw Asgard, an entire phase. One Othinus made, is that the power you had to face Kamijou Touma?' She walked out and waved the guards goodbye. 'We should be glad Index wants to keep you happy, Otherwise-' she wasn't able to finish that thought however.

"Hey you! Amakusas girl! I heard Loverboy was in deep shit and you guys could use all the help you could get!" A familiar annoying young girl's voice said.

A girl of around 14 wearing a white red and blue lacrosse outfit with the letters NL on the back and sleeves stood before her. Her eyes were blue and she had long black hair with yellow dye on the sides of her bangs. A tail-like spiritual item resembling that of dragon's or succubi's swung side to side behind her. She stood behind Itsuwa with her hands on her hips.

Itsuwa's eyes twitched slightly as she turned to the newcomer. "Yes Lessar, and as much as I'd love to not deal with you I don't think it'd be smart to turn down your aid."

Lessar the impish girl grinned "Great, oh don't worry I already put my things in the jet. Gotta be prepared for when we save loverboy." She licked her lips with clear vile intentions.

Itsuwa was half tempted to smack the horny wannabe succubus unconscious here and now. But she restrained herself "Normally I'd capture and restrain you here and now for that. But I'll let it pass this time because that's just how desperate we are." She then glared at her "But no more surprised alright!" Before turning back in the direction of the airport

This caused Lessar to shift uncertainly from side to side. "Does that mean it's a bad idea to mention that Queen Regnant Elizard snuck aboard as well?".

This caused Itsuwa to whip around in complete and utter shock. "WHAT!?"

...

"Where in the name of England is Queen Elizard!" Knight leader shouted as he burst into the living room of Buhkingan palace. He was blond with striking blue eyes, he wore a suit and a cavat. His hair was short and parted in the middle. He was out of breath as he looked around the room.

In one of the many couches sat a woman of around 30 with black hair, reaching to her shoulders. She was wearing a blue dress with a monocle over her eye. She was reading a book with a look of exasperation on her face. "Where do you think? As soon as mother heard that the Academy City Jet had landed she rushed over as fast as she could. Something about them not leaving her out of the party or something."

Knight leader facepalmed and he shook in annoyance. "And you did nothing to stop her, First Princess Rimea?" he asked.

Rimea laughed "You think anything I could possibly say would convince her to stop?" She shook her head "You'd have better chances getting Carissa to put on an apron and cook."

"I'm not sure that's a fair comparison sister" spoke A younger woman around 24 with long blond hair pulled into a ponytail. She had blue eyes and wore a green dress that's skirt spread towards the bottom. Arm length gloves covered her hands and a viel hung behind her head. Among her jewelry was a small crown atop her head. This was third princess Villian "I'm sure Carissa can cook quite well, It is an important survival skill any good military would have after all."

Knight Leader shook his head as he pulled his hand off his face. "Whatever, I'm going to bring the Queen back now" He said as he turned to leave.

"You are a bit late there Knight Leader." Rimea said, turning a page in her book. Causing him to pause.

"What?" he said, turning.

"The jet Mother's on left five minutes ago" Villian said as she took a sip of tea.

Knight Leader felt something snap inside him. He didn't know what would happen in the next few hours. But he knew one thing for an absolute fact.

When Elizard got back, he was going to have a long… long conversation with her.

...

Accelerator moved at speeds faster than the normal eye could see through the air. The sargasso was coming into view for him, as he got closer he heard the demon Qliphah react.

"Master you were right as always~ nyehehehe! Index absolutely put something guarding it." Qliphah Puzzle 545 said shakily. "This one seems to be the worst one yet."

Just as she said that space at the sargasso suddenly distorted before exploding outwards. What had appeared was an immense creature that towered above the ship made island. How It did not crush the sargasso under its weight must have been attributed to how it seemed to float just above it.

Six immense wings covered it from view. Each pair was a different type, the top wings were angelic like. The bottom were demonic looking, and the middle were a fusion of the two. Immense glowing rings floated behind it facing upright like a clock face rotating clockwise. A large halo-like thing seemed to float just above the center of the wings.

And it roared, a shockwave burst out from it as the wings spread open in an instant. It looked like a fusion of many mythical beasts and then some. The size of a certain three headed Kaiju with equally as many heads. Each looked like a fusion of a wolf, a dragon, a shark and more.

The left was white and the halo followed it, It had feathers adorning it And a slow mist poured from its sharp jaws. Its eyes were green and it had six of them. A large object almost looking like a sword's hilt seemed stabbed through the snout. But it was part of the head's structure. It passively starred as it swayed side to side.

The Right was black and shaggy like a wolf. It had a crown of horns atop its forehead, black smoke poured from its jagged jaws. It too had six eyes but each pair was a different color. Red, moon blue and sun yellow, Gold shackles seemed to hang from its neck and it snapped and snarled angrily.

Finally, the middle was gray, It was bare of fur or feathers, leathery skin and scales covered it. Light and darkness seemed to both drift from its jaws. It had no eyes on its face. It had two horns but they curved upward into a half halo shape above it's head..

The six wings spread out from its back as it flapped them. Black, grey and white Scales created patterns of equal coverage over its Torso. Fur seemed to fill the gaps where the scales did not. Eyes adorned the outside of each of its legs. And It has twelve legs, six on either side, and each pair was different.

The top pair were the most humanoid, however they were grey with streaks of black and white. Large red claws adorned the foot, And silver feathers covered the back of the paw. From there, the Legs gradually went from Mammalian and reptilian, to Insectoid and bird like

Its abdomen had a similar theme to later three pairs of legs. Starting more mammal-reptilian towards the chest before becoming more insectoid-bird like at the base. The same kinds of patterns curled their way down but were feathered and carapaced at the bottom.

Countless tendrils with mouths and eyes on them waved around the upper abdomen like a twisted form of skirt. It had three tails each holding a similar theme to the heads.

The left was white and feathered eyes lined the sides like a Sephira angel's. It was tipped in a burning plume of feathers and wisps of energy that seemed to mimic the garbs of some shinto gods floated around them.

The right was black and furred with large spikes and spines protruding from it. It was tipped in a sharp jagged stinger from which black poison dripped. Red flames curled around it as it swayed side to side.

The center was grey, scaled and leathery, spiked plates covered its length and eyes were embedded in each. The tip was a feathered bulb which would open to reveal a sharp stinger. Space seemed to distort at the edges of it.

The entirety of its body was covered in a black glass like substance that appeared to be armor of kinds.

Its three heads all snapped towards Accelerator and released their respective energies from their jaws. Black white and both met and spiraled at Accelerator. Who met it head on, they too shared the weird vectors that the last beast breath weapon did. But Accelerator was prepared for it. Non-euclidean geometry and physics was the key. Having calculated the correct form of hyper-curved space, Accelerator reflected the attack right back at the monster.

It's three heads ducked out of the way like snakes and it launched itself forward with it its wings. The three heads whipped around and its legs each conjured their own energies. Identifying them all would be foolish, so Accelerator focused on what was important.

The Top claws, heads and tails, each of them wielded an energy similar to the three Trees. The first attack had merely been a warning, now was the real fight.

"The armor is likely obsidian Master, meaning that" Qliphah began.

Accelerator frowned as he ducked under a blast of dark energy. It sucked and whined through the air making it clear what it was. "Etzali would be useless against it" After dodging the singularity beam he slammed his foot against the next arm wielding a bright white energy which burst with radiation. It was redirected upward slamming into the left head's own energy. This completely vaporized the head, it was a white hole's energy after all.

Accelerator's smile however was cut quickly short as the head regenerated within moments. "Fuck! No matter how fast Awaki is, it's useless when it can just pull a Dark Matter on us." Summoning up his white wings, Accelerator diverted, blocked, and dodged the next five attacks. The others from its lower 10 arms deflect harmlessly off him.

"Even if that Onmyouji user could do anything he'd need time to master." Qliphah informed That meant this beast was specifically designed so only he could beat it… but why?

Accelerator found himself just barely dodging another attack by the heads as his eyes narrowed. "That Brat of a nun is stalling for time! She fucking knows I can kill this thing, she just needs it to delay me long enough for her to get back before we finish our preparations." He moved back near instantly as a mass of something was launched his way by the creature.

The beast, the monster whatever it was, grinned at Accelerator. Could it understand him? And all three heads roared as the two side heads spiraled around the center. Same with the tails. Flesh split and wove together until three heads, and three tails became one of each. A fusion of all three. 12 eyes, 6 jaws, and 9 tongues. It roared and seemed to Cackle. The energy building up within it seemed to shake the world around it as it starred accelerator in the eyes

"It's… fucking scentient!?" Accelerator said in shock "That fucking abomination of god damn existence… IS SENTIENT!?" he shouted as he threw his wings forward to meet the energy of gray released from its mouth head on.

The mass of energy did not stop, Accelerator tried to dodge but he was already Enveloped in it. The next instant the energy was gone and Accelerator found himself feeling like he had been slammed by a car. He was somehow in a crater on the sargasso. Multiple broken bones and rips, he was pretty sure he only survived because of his reflection deflecting all of the heat and otherwise. But somehow it didn't fully deflect the impact? The only way that could happen is if,

Accelerator's eyes went wide as he stared at the creature hovering in the sky. His bones had begun to heal as his white wings helped him seal injuries and Qliphah had accelerated his healing. "That fucking attack froze me in time!?" he shouted as the creature laughed.

Normally it made no sense, it shouldn't make sense, but Accelerator understood why it might be thought to make sense.

Black, and white, Black hole, and white hole. Two cosmic forces of deep space.

A blackhole was a dead star which ate and consumed all around it. Gravity was so immense around it that objects near it would move so slow in time they seemed frozen.

White holes were supposedly in one theory, the exit-point of black holes. meaning gravity was reversed around them.. Right?

However despite their theoretical existence white holes can never be studied due to the fact they'd only last fractions of a fraction of a second. However, if time black holes moves so slow. Couldn't that mean time around a white hole moved exceedingly quickly?

Eternity, and an instant the combination of the two made null time. That is the logic this creature's gray attack worked on. Accelerator however grinned, he knew how he could avoid that now. He just needed to tip the scale to one extreme or the other.

While he could avoid a black hole's gravity the singularity was a different matter. It was a one dimensional point, even the 'linegularity' created by the singularity beam was just that. A line, either way they had no and never would have, a vector. Getting hit or subject to that would undoubtedly kill him.

The 'white hole' however was the opposite, A multi-dimensional explosion. While he'd still get injured by the same logic that the Curtana could cut him. He'd be able to control it well enough to get off fairly well.

Launching himself into the air he faced the creature. "Congratulations you shitty abominable build-a-bear. You actually fucking came close to killing me, to bad for you." His face became a wide smirk "I won't even need to call on Clonoth for you."

The Creature roared once more and released a wave of gray at Accelerator.

And one moment Accelerator was there, the next a shockwave of light. And the Creature was gone, a cloud of the same colors in its place.

Awaki Stumbled to the ground gasping, she couldn't teleport any farther than that. They were just outside the walls of the city as she shook.

"Awaki! What are you doing! We have to hurry! Even if Accelerator clears out the Sargasso. We still need to be there to secure it!" Etzali glared at her.

"Fuck off Stalkerboy! I've pushed myself, way too damn far! With my trauma I can't-" She began to retort before Tsuchimikado interrupted

"I don't think you quite understand what's at stake here. Awaki" he glared into the girl's eyes. "We don't have time for your trauma to hold us back. So… Either push past your trauma.. Or we all die, and not quickly, not painlessly. We all die, one by one, as that walking encyclopedia eats each of us. I don't think she'll stop at gods" Tsuchimikado warned her.

Awaki shook her head "It's impossible, what do you expect me to do? Huh!? If I make one wrong move, we could end up in a wall. And then what hm? How are we gonna save them then?"

"Have you made that mistake yet? If you're afraid, just change your calculation method" Tsuchimikado said, shaking his head.

Awaki wanted to retort... but she couldn't, she hadn't made a mistake. Not recently, not at all, and if it was her fear of getting her calculations wrong. Then, why not try something different… but what? What could give her the same effect but allow her easier calculations.

It's not like it's that easy to teleport your moving through higher dimensions. She wasn't like a black hole that bent spacetime.

She paused there

Bent spacetime, that creature earlier that they fought. Spacetime was already bent, she just needed to bend it more.

"You know what?... your right, I can" She grinned, she just had to use the non-euclidean nature of space to her advantage.

...

Etzali nearly Vomited as they reached the sargasso. Tsuchimikado did vomit "Nyah… the hell Awaki-chan! that was" he stumbled

"It got us here quickly besides, you asked for it" Awaki smugly grinned before frowning. "Heads up, not only is Accelerator not here but"

Etzali groaned "we got company"

Out of the ground around them creatures rose. Index certainly had an imagination. Crosses between Lovecraftian beings, Aztec monsters, Nordic beasts. And even a new creature that appeared to be an armored centipede worm thing. With armor that echoed the Devourer's own.

Awaki grinned, due to her change in calculation process. She could actually detect which creatures held less euclidean properties than the rest of the world. She could fight them on their own playing field.

They were surrounded but Awaki still grinned "Oi! Siscon, stalker boy those over there and that guy can be handled normally" She gestured to a few of the Aztec norse beasts including one that was a Manticore Warg hybrid.

Etzali glared as he reflected the light of Venus at some of their attackers. "And the others?"

Awaki grinned as she slipped her hand through the air and one of the creatures roared and collapsed. "Oh I can deal with them, once I get rid of the big worm guy's armor though." She glanced at multiple attacks and the appeared in their attackers. "Then we can gang up on him"

"Where has this boost of confidence come from Nyah?" Tsuchimikado teased.

Awaki rolled her eyes as she teleported into battle.

Well.. Teleport isn't exactly the right word in her eyes. She more slipped through space so to speak. The world itself shifted and contorted in her eyes when she used her ability now.

She targeted multiple parts of the sargasso with her ability. And They were slipped into the Beasts around them. Their highly non-euclidian natures meant nothing when she could see past it.

She however was targeting the large worm. Unlike the others it was harder to deal with, what they saw was a worm. And yes that's what it was, but even if they attacked every part of its body they'd find nothing there.

That is because there wasn't anything there. Except for one part, the tail, the armor on it kept the worm in an area of hyper curved curved spacetime, where it's whole body was in that one area.

While this meant it was difficult to hit it also meant when it was hit. It was hit as if hit all over its body "Seriously what is this? A miniboss in a videogame?" Awaki smirked as she slipped an anchor through the tail. Which she saw as the creature's long armored body curled within a bubble where it lashes out at things in the space outside.

A roar and shriek as bolts of plasma rained down from spheres that it created. The armor began to crack and crumble away revealing a vibrant purple worm inside.

Its many eyes locked onto Awaki as she slipped through space again. "I think I made it mad guys" she sneered.

It's jaws opened as it roared, three shots were fired and it shook its head. But it had paused long enough for the light of venus to hit it.

And it was dissected in its entirety.

From there the rest of the creatures were easy to clean up. Awaki stood on a part of the sargasso that a certain boy would recognize as she took out a phone. "Site secure, no sign of Accelerator. Bring in the chains for the devourer"

...

Muireann, and ITEM were on a large boat making its way to the sargasso. After her run in with Meab, Muireann had taken a large chunk of the bedrock out of the ground. It would act as the bolder for the spell, She then met up with Mugino and Kinuhata who had gathered the Tubs.

Hamazura and Takitsubo along with a few members of Skill Out joined them later as they had received the location of the Ritual site. Unfortunately it appears Accelerator was missing. However Muireann wasn't gonna concern herself with that. Along with a large… large amounts of high quality sake and the pieces for the Ame-no-nuboku replica. Hamazura and Takitsubo had retrieved 3 large wooden planks that would be good for the shrine gate.

According to them it appeared that Hamazura's plan to have Takitsubo manipulate his AIM so he could use magic had failed. Theoretically maybe if they had time it possibly could be done. But there were too many unknowns to risk it so they instead brought the pieces to Muireann.

"Hah! The railgun-girl's group is quite smart, more than I gave her credit for." Mugino said as she looked at a phone.

"Is there some kind of rivalry between you two?" Muireann raised her eyebrow curiously.

Mugino growled "She's the fucking number three and im stuck at number four. Of fucking course there is why?" she glared at Muireann. Who had no way of knowing how lucky she was that Mugino had become more mellowed out.

The young selkie shrugged "I just don't see the point of having a rivalry with someone who's as stubborn as her. It's a waste of energy with her really" She leaned over the edge of the boat feeling the sea breeze. "But I'm not in a position to judge. I already learned the hard way that making assumptions without all the context leads to regrets."

Mugino laid back against the railing "Normally I'd have fried you for saying that." she sighed "But I get what you mean, either way I think you'll find it important to know that." she gave a sideways glance at Muireann "the railgun's group not only has found the correct items for the Greek gods and tartarus but. They've also found a way to make them work in tangent with other myths."

Muireann bliked in shock looking at Mugino. "R..Really? I wasn't even thinking about that yet." She thought a moment before looking up. "Any examples we'd need to know of?"

Mugino nodded "Tartarus and yomi, they both being underworlds under mountains in caves. We'll need to dig a deeper hole for the abyss of tartarus. Between the shrinegate and the boulder we need a river to mirror Styxs; this will also be linked to the Tsunso and nile rivers." After she finished, Mugino stood up.

Kinuhata popped over a higher part of the ship they were on and shouted down. "Hey we're supper about to disembark. Get your asses super to the deck so we can get to the sargasso."

"Kinuhataaa, you don't get to boss me around. Besides, I was heading there anyway." Mugino warned as she prepared to leave. "I respect you, Muireann, that strength and that drive. If you want ITEM would be willing to accept you."

Muireann tilted her head as she stood up straight. "I appreciate the offer, but let's be honest. You don't need me at all, besides" she looked off to the distance. "I already decided I want to be by Touma's side."

As Muireann gazed out into the sunrise, Mugino could see a soft smile on her face. And for a moment, Mugino wondered if she too could pursue the one she loved. Even if they were already taken, with those thoughts Mugino turned to leave.

And if one were to see her face, they'd swear she was smiling.

...

Index frowned further as she felt the struggling form of Izanagi slide down her throat. Not even the giddy feeling she got from the power filling her, changed her expression.

Eating magic gods was too inefficient.

This wasn't to say they were weak or had too little energy, no. It was because their phases weren't held inside of them like Index's. It took more energy to absorb them then they ended up giving her. She was eating them for their connection to their phase. But that took energy, she had to first break down the god. Then she had to absorb them into her own self so that their phase would be connected to her. She then had to use that connection to break down and consume the phase itself.

All in all it was highly ineffective and by her estimation her hunger would grow exponentially. Issue was it's not like there were any beings that held entire phases inside their own body, were there?

Index paused at that thought 'Phases… inside, my phase… a personal phase...' And then an Idea hit her, a dangerous one for sure. But if true, acting on it would be way more effective than eating these gods. 'Didn't Komoe say espers work on something called personal reality? Isn't that kinda like a phase that's contained inside them?' Index bit her lip floating through space in orbit around the sun.

She had a bit of time before she needed to eat again. But, when she did, would she dare to eat an esper? They weren't the magic gods who had been involved in Touma's suffering.

Index shook and froze in place, was she actually considering this? Was she actually considering eating an innocent living person? Why was it so hard to shake the idea? Why did the thought feel so… natural?

She thought as a light twinkled in the distance of space. She couldn't sustain herself on the Magic Gods. She'd get hungrier every time, this time it was three. Next time it would be seven. She'd need exponentially more each time, in order to fix this she needed to eat something that's phases were held inside of them like her. Or at least something very similar.

Her thoughts turned to Touma, her human, the one she had locked away in the world she held in herself.

She knew that her precious human had been suspicious of her. Even back when he first took another look at his hospital room. He had been prodding and poking at the world around him. It was quite adorable to her. He was stuck in a world she created where only she knew where to find. So as long as he didn't try to escape, it was alright.

She smiled slightly remembering the sight of him try to uncover the truth. It was too cute so she had to tease him. Sure it made him more suspicious but he needed to know just how she felt. Maybe she'd take that final step and take him fully.

She sighed to herself, it still didn't change the fact that eating gods was too ineffective. But if she ate an esper, how would Touma react?

Staring at her stomach she thought 'Touma would be afraid, he'd never want me to do that. He'd beg me to stop, he wouldn't hate me though. He'd understand even if he didn't like it.' The thoughts of others no longer concerned her. 'But the alternative is to let him suffer and get himself killed. I can't let that happen, I won't let that happen.' Index's purple eyes went cold as the distant light grew brighter. Before another thought bubbled back to the surface of her mind.

Was she being slightly influenced by the gods she ate? The words of Tezcatlipoca once more entered her mind. "You're acting like that eyepatched thief!"

She shuddered slightly, was she? Was she really behaving like Othinus, she asked herself. Back when she first met Touma she knew the answer would be no, but now? She wasn't so sure.

After she had been turned into a fairy, Othinus had been cold and only acted in Touma or her own interests. Even any help she had given to others was purely because they were important to Touma.

Sure Index wasn't cold and even had many friends, but even after world war three. Could she really say she was acting in the interests of others? Normally she'd say yes, but something stopped her.

At some point before or during world war three. Index had begun to try and handle magic conflicts on her own. Less out of a desire to protect others, and more out of a desire to protect Touma. She had even become cold herself over the last few days because of it.

In that sense, wasn't she acting almost identical to that one eyed pagan god?

She wanted to stop thinking about it as the distant light entered the solar system. But she couldn't, she couldn't stop dwelling on it.

And the more she dwelled on it the more likely it seemed.

She didn't want to think about it, if she thought about it she'd have to accept it was likely true.

And in doing so she'd have to accept that Othinus truly did love Touma

In doing that she'd have to accept Othinus did change and deserved a second chance.

In doing so, she'd have to accept she had eaten someone innocent.

In doing so, she'd have to accept that…..

Silence fell as Index drifted, the light having passed Jupiter and only now slowing down. She shook in realization of what she had become but. 'Did I go down this path because of someone else?' she asked herself, and then thought back. Recalling the events that had led her here. And she concluded 'no, I came down this path of my own choice. I chose to do so in order to protect Touma, my human. Even if eating the gods has influenced me. I still want to protect Touma no matter the cost.'

Bearing her teeth, canine sharp, like fangs Index, the Devourer of Gods resolved herself. 'I don't care anymore, I don't care if the god's i've eaten have influenced me. I don't care If Touma grows to hate me, I don't care if I'm feared.' Straightening herself she looked back to earth. 'In order to protect Touma and his world I'll eat anything and anyone'.

Glancing towards the distant light that was heading towards Earth, Index looked puzzled. "What's white hair doing over there?"
