Chapter 3: Welcome to Bellwood, Lucario!

When Paradox returned in that same flash he always vanished and reappeared in, Lucario knew exactly what he was going to ask, and his answer was final. He knew he may never see Pokémon again, but company among strangers was definitely preferably to a life full of loneliness.

"Alright, Lucario. Have you made your decision?" Paradox asked.

"Yes. It has been nearly 15 years since I was able to talk to others, and even if I will not see my home again, at least someone can listen to what I say," Lucario firmly replied.

"Then we must make haste. Lucario, Ho-Oh, and Xerneas are going to begin the ritual that will bring back to the world of the living, and we must make our way to Spear Pillar," Paradox said. Closing his eyes for the upcoming flash, Lucario let Paradox grab his hand.

When his eyes open, Lucario saw things were different. No longer near the Tree of Beginning where he had remained for nearly 15 years, he was instead in a ruined temple, and from the thin air, it seemed they were quite high up. Numerous broken pillars littered the area behind him and Paradox, and his eyes widened when he finally saw Arceus himself, accompanied by Ho-Oh and Xerneas. Genuflecting, Lucario only stammered, "L-L-Lord Arceus! It t-t-truly is an honor to be in your presence,"

"Calm yourself, little one. I am a Pokémon just like you, there is no need to treat me as a king," Arceus gently assured. Though his voice was a little forceful, Lucario felt at ease with his words. "Now, stand in this circle," he told, using his front right hoof to draw a circle within the stone. After Lucario stood in the circle, Arceus turned to Ho-Oh.

"Ho-Oh, ready your feathers, we must complete this ritual," Nodding at his master's words, Ho-Oh proceeded to pluck some feathers off his back, and the iridescent glow of each feather was like a little rainbow. As the feathers lay on the ground one by one, he could already feel the warmth of life returning to him, and soon, a green glow emanated from within the circle underneath Lucario's feet.

"Xerneas, prepare to use Geomancy!" As Xerneas began charging the power of life, she began to shift into her Active Form: her antlers changed from sapphire-blue to a light gold color, and small, multi-colored spikes began jutting out from the sides of each antler, and the stripe that divided her back was replaced with small, multi-colored dots like freckles. The green light enveloped Lucario, and soon, he felt his Aura return to him, all the strength he had lost from his years of isolation in the afterlife returning to him in full. As soon as the green light faded, Lucario fell to the ground, exhausted.

As he fell asleep, he could hear Paradox trying to soothe him, "Rest now, Lucario. When you awaken, your new life will begin,"

"What?" Lucario groggily groaned. "What happened?" As his blurry vision began to clear, Lucario found himself in the arms of Professor Paradox, who gave him a gentle smile.

"Finally woken up? Good. Let me just see if you can stand, however," Gently letting Lucario slide to the ground, Paradox backed up. For a few moments, Lucario still slid between being asleep and awake, but after a few seconds, he managed to force himself to stand up, and took in his surroundings. All around him were sights he had never seen anywhere: in front and behind him were buildings that clustered together like Exeggcute. He saw great metal chariots moving across the road, as well as humans walking peacefully alongside creatures that were similar to Pokémon: flying in the air was a small, four-eyed insect with four legs, two arms, and a tail ending with a blade similar to that on a Gligar; humans flinching and trying to dodge what looked like some kind of blue Treecko with a tail reminiscent of Slowpoke, wheels replacing its feet, and wearing a pink jacket with a large zipper; and a giant, red-skinned humanoid with four arms and four eyes was directing the chariots and the humans walking across the street. It was almost unbelievable, but more unbelievably was how nothing seemed to move.

"This…this world is…is…" he stammered, unable to form a coherent response. Upon seeing birds that remained in place, though, another question came to mind. "How is nothing moving?"

"To answer that question, remember how I can travel anywhere and anywhen? I can do much more. Right now, time stands still for both of us, as I can affect how I move through time and how it affects me," Paradox responded. "So tell me, how do you find my world? Strange? Bizarre? Unexpected?"

"Well…yes actually. This feels so different from my old world. So many completely different Auras are here, yet I can still feel the familiar Aura given off by humans. I suppose I can at least take some comfort in that," Lucario said after collecting his thoughts.

"Good. Well, I feel a natural meeting will be better, but I would advise you to keep an eye on that building. You will understand what you have to do once the time comes. Toodle loo!" Paradox told Lucario before waving goodbye. In a flash of light, time resumed, and everything began moving. The chariots moved quickly, rivaling that of a Ponyta, while the blue Treecko suddenly moved at a speed so much that it turned into a blur. Lucario was awestruck by everything going on but before he had time to ponder over Paradox's words, he heard a voice call to him to watch out, and he barely had time before he found himself sprawled on the ground, tangled in a heap with someone else.

"Oh my Gosh, are you Ok, sir?" the unknown individual said, its voice distinctively female. Regaining his bearings, Lucario managed to get a look at the person who collided with him, but he was quite surprised to see who it was. Standing over him appeared to be a bigger version of that blue Treecko he saw earlier, but her attire was quite different: she wore almost no clothing apart from shorts and a tube top that exposed her stomach area. He only saw the back of the younger one's head earlier, but glancing at this one's facial features, he was quite surprised to see an almost-human face, apart from her blue skin and white eyes. "I'm…I'm so sorry about that, I was just trying to make my way over to Burger Shack, but you just came out of nowhere and I…I…I'm sorry!" she rapidly sputtered, offering him a hand up.

"No. No. I should've responded faster and moved out of the way," Lucario responded. Taking up the hand, Lucario gave a grateful smile. "Thank you, Miss…?"

"Oh, sorry. My name's K8-E! Nice to meetcha! What's your name, Mister?" the newly named K8-E said, a smile spreading across her face. While Paradox had been OK with Lucario talking telepathically, he wasn't sure how she would respond.

"My name is Lucario. It is a pleasure to meet you Ms. K8-E," he answered formally. Obviously, he knew K8-E would catch his mouth not moving, and the look of shock, at least he presumed (it was quite difficult to know how she felt due to a lack of pupils). However, her response confirmed his theory.

"What?! How are you doing that? I can definitely hear you speak, but your mouth's not moving! Are you psychic or something?" K8-E asked. Preparing for the response, Lucario decided to explain.

"Well, sort of. My kind is attuned to a life energy called Aura, and we can use it to read minds. Since we do not have vocal cords, we use our telepathy to speak instead," Lucario explained.

"Whoa! That's so cool! Anyway, nice meeting you Lucario, and I hope we see each other again soon!" K8-E answered before speeding off. Lucario was pleasantly surprised to see how accepting she was but his mood soured when he saw four humans with rather odd clothing and war paint.

Their leader was obviously the one in front: a muscular man with a sleeveless shirt, orange pants, and black boots with silver spikes made up his outfit, and he wore black and white face paint. He was wearing some kind of bracelet on each arm; unfitting for some warrior, but Lucario figured it could have been some kind of warrior custom. His compatriots, though, were far more well armed, and seemed far more like thugs, even more than him. The lankiest amongst them had long black hair with bangs covering half his face, said bangs having orange locks in the center. He seemed to be equipped with some sort of small metal slab, which was attached to a cable connected to his backpack. The other two, though, seemed to be more for physical combat. One had black face-paint surrounding their eyes while his white hair was done in a mohawk. The sleeveless black shirt he wore had two splotches of paint, and with the small nicks on the bottom, it gave off a skull-like appearance. The final member was similar to his compatriot, only he wore a spiked necklace and his hair was red. Both of them wore red chest plates, with two strange cylinders on the shoulders.

Seeing the building they were heading for, he saw the prominent symbol of a diamond, and on the window, there was a sign that read "On Sale Now! Taydenite Necklaces and Bracelets Available Now!" If Ben was such a hero, where was he?

Unbeknownst to Lucario and the punk quartet, there was someone trailing them. He knew who they really were, but stealth was of the essence, and he figured at least wait for the right moment. They thought he didn't notice them, and he was willing to play along with the notion. Trailing behind them like a phantom, this unknown individual kept close watch over them as they entered the jewelry store.

Hearing the bell, the cashier, an old man with a full beard and grey hair, turned to greet some new customers only to find himself staring down the barrel of a gun. His eyes widened and he quickly put up his hands in the air.

"Where is it?! Hand it over now!" the wielder of the gun ordered, revealed to be the lanky one with the bangs.

"What?! What do you want? My money? HERE! TAKE IT!" the frightened cashier said, revealing himself to have an English accent. But before he could, the assumed leader of the group put has hand on the gun and did a "calm down" motion with his hands, and it was then that the cashier recognized him: Fistrick, a known arms-dealer and purveyor in alien technology.

"Whoa! Corvo, bro! That's not how we do things around here. Don't worry, old man. We ain't for yo money, man! So cool yo jets! Oso! León! Get the Taydenite!" Fistrick commanded. As the two men with chest armor began smashing the displays, they seized the aforementioned gems with glee. However, that joy quickly soured when they felt a chilling presence go through the air, as if some phantom had just entered.

"You know. It's not polite to just take jewels without paying and saying thank you," a raspy voice called out. Quickly, the hoodlums began to catch on to what happened.

"Oh, great! He's here now! Why did he have to come?" the thug with the white mohawk complained.

"Oh, can it Oso! We still outnumber him 4 to 1! We can handle his hocus-pocus!" León tried to rally. But after doing so, he felt a punch to his gut, and then he got lifted by the neck and thrown into a wall. Afterwards, he tried to blast some electricity from his armor, but it was a total miss, with the opposite wall getting a hole punched clean through. That wasn't the end of his torment, though, as he soon felt fingers jamming through his skull, then a stinging sensation ripple through his whole body, and he soon fell unconscious.

Letting out a sigh and pinching his nose, Fistrick grumbled to himself, "I see now that freeing and rearming you three was a wonderful investment on my part. Why didn't I just grab it all for myself?" As Oso and Corvo looked in shock, their attacker finally revealed itself, and Fistrick snarled when he saw who it was, which the cashier took as an opportunity to flee to the back of the shop.

He'd had his fun, but now the time to reveal himself had come himself, and it was quite the sight. A ghost-like creature with a single green eye, he also had cracks all across his body, a bottom half that ended in a wispy tail, and the cracks on his chest were eye-shaped, and the badge on his chest served as the iris. What was the badge? Well, it was a circle with a green hourglass shape in the center, and two black triangles to the left and right of the badge. Ben Tennyson finally showed his face, even if it was as Ghostfreak, and had one thing to say.

"Boo!"

Codon Stream Entry: Ghostfreak

Species: Ectonurite

Home World: Anur Phateos

Hailing from the dark world of Anur Phateos, Ectonurites are creatures that are very reminiscent of Earth ghosts, specifically the western version. They can become invisible to the naked eye, fly through the air, go through walls, possess others, and use telekinesis. However, they are very vulnerable to sunlight, and will burn violently, hence why they wear special light-absorbing suits to protect themselves, though they can remove this at will. With this, they gain the ability to fire energy beams, unleash strong tentacles from their chest, and grow stronger in the dark.

"Ben, shoulda figured this was too easy. Where's your friend who was our bro once?" Fistrick asked.

"Enjoying a date with his girlfriend Rayona. I figured he could use the time off after working himself half to death. Fistrick, we know how this ends. I kick your butt, you go to jail, and I have a nice stack of chili fries at Burger Shack. So why don't you get to the point where you tell me why you're robbing a store for Taydenite. Planning on selling it for a much higher price to suckers in Undertown?" Ghostfreak asked.

If Ghostfreak expected a straight answer from Fistrick, he clearly had not fought enough times over the year since he helped create a new universe. Fistrick gave a hearty laugh and wiped a fake tear from his eye. "Oh no! This is for us. Ever since you cut us off from using Megawhatts as a power supply, we've had to rely on other sources to power our tech, but with the shipment of Taydenite coming in, we figured we'd have a power source that was more permanent, ya know? This is our score, Tennyson, and we ain't gonna let you ruin it for us!"

Closing his eye, Ghostfreak gave out a sigh. "Why do you have to make this so difficult? You always end up playing with alien tech. Didn't anyone ever tell you what happens when you play with alien tech? It's like playing with fire, but you don't get burned. Instead you get…," ending his statement on that suspenseful note before slamming the symbol on his chest. A flash of emerald light blinded the remaining three members, as instead of Ghostfreak, a new figure stood in his place.

This time, it was a man made of what looked like cooled magma. His head was given rock patterns reminiscent of a skull while being lit on fire. The symbol that had been on Ghostfreak's chest lay in the same position as it was before. Now speaking in a much deeper voice, the figure said, "Heatblasted!"

Codon Stream Entry: Heatblast

Species: Pyronite

Home World: Pyros

Magma-based beings from the star Pyros, these beings are quite the powerhouse, and a force to be reckoned with. Evolution for a high heat environment has granted them powerful control over fire and heat. They can not only breathe out fire, but also unleash streams of it, create blades of fire, absorb flames to power themselves up, and fly via propulsion like a rocket. They also wield the ability to manipulate rock and earth to limited extent, and manipulate heat to melt substances like rock into magma. Pyronites, on their home world, are daredevils and thrill-seekers, practicing their pyrokinesis through extreme sports like lava-surfing and dune buggy races.

¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦

Fistrick finally decided to stop playing around, and activated his bracelets. Immediately, they began to alter into a pair of gauntlets made of red metal. On his right hand was a trio of sharp claws, and on his left hands was a gun barrel. "Come at me, bro. Get ready, 'cause I won't be falling that easily." Getting the message, Oso and Corvo pointed their weapons at him, Corvo with his pistol/cell-phone hybrid, ad Oso with his magnetically charged fists.

His fists igniting, Heatblast gave a grin, exclaiming, "I was hoping you'd say that!" and quickly hurled two fire balls at the trio. An explosion erupted, launching them right out the window and into the streets, with Heatblast following in hot pursuit.

As Lucario began to wonder if Ben would ever show up at all, he was surprised to see a flash of emerald light suddenly flood out the jewelry store's windows. An explosion fully caught his attention, as three members of the quartet were launched out of the window. Were they responsible? No, if that was the case, why would they not be more prepared. That question got a quick answer, however, when he saw another strange beast in front of him. A humanoid being made of magma with its head set on fire jumped out of the window, but what caught Lucario's eye the most was the symbol on his chest. Minus the coloration, it was almost identical to that which was present on all of the transformations of Ben Tennyson that he had seen.

"Is that…Ben Tennyson? The one who will be my leader?" Lucario wondered. Deciding to let the fight unfold without interference, he watched as the being fought against the trio. The longhaired man began firing electrical shots out of his weapon, as the being nimbly dodged every shot, even throwing fireballs to counter them at times. As the leader tried to slash him with the claws on his right gauntlet, the magma being quickly unleashed a wave of fire, kicking up a smokescreen that blinded him. While he was distracted, the creature unleashed a rapid flurry of kicks and flaming punches, pushing the thief into a defensive stance. It seemed he had quite the experience in fighting opponents, but it wasn't long before he noticed something. The red-haired man he saw was leaving the store, and was preparing to blast Ben. Smirking, he proceeded to blast the man as he tried to dodge some more shots given off by the longhaired man. Lucario watched in shock as the magma being began crying out in pain, sparks dancing across his body, while the leader smirked.

"Well, Ben, bro, I think we both agree that it's been fun knowing ya. But this is where we part ways, and you depart from this world. Permanently," giving a grin, the leader proceeded to put his left gauntlet to the now-named Ben's face. Paradox's instructions be damned! He was not going to let him die like this, no matter if the attackers were human or not. Giving out a war cry, everyone's attention was now on Lucario, and he ran into battle. As he did so, he gathered as much Aura as he could and began concentrating it between his palms, creating a sphere that gradually got larger.

Ben was many things. Heroic, handsome, loyal, strong, witty, charismatic, experienced and many other such adjectives could describe the wielder of the Omnitrix. Unfortunately, "invincible" was not among them. Heatblast was a tough alien, but Ben very highly doubted that he would survive a point blank energy shot to the head.

However, before he could start contemplating his last words, something odd happened. He heard a strange cry and soon, he saw Fistrick get struck by a blue energy ball. Confused, but still under the effects of León's paralysis attack, he watched out of the corner of his eye as Fistrick was sent flying into a wall, crashing with a resounding thud. Ben soon heard a cry of pain, and felt the paralysis on him wear off. Turning his attention to his back, he saw León knocked away, but at the hands of a new individual, one of a species Ben never saw before in his travels. If he wanted to describe it quickly, he would say that it was some kind of black-and-blue humanoid jackal with dreadlocks. The look on his face was…disappointment?

"When I heard about the hero of the universe, I wasn't expecting someone to be quite so oblivious of their surroundings. How did you not notice that sluggish buffoon coming up behind you?" the jackal firmly asked. Oh great. Another one who was made to doubt his worth in the Omnitrix or that they deserved its power more. How many of those were there? Xylene, Azmuth, Malware, Vilgax, Albedo, and now this guy. Ben did notice how his mouth didn't move when he spoke, and it was quite obvious that he was telepathic.

"Look, buddy, nobody's perfect, and I'll admit that I've blundered quite a few times in my career. But I've done this a lot longer than you most likely have, so I know how to deal with situations like this! If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything," Ben chided, but added, "Still you did save my life, so thanks for that. How about you fight alongside me, and you lecture me later?" the creature seemed to contemplate his offer, before giving his response.

"Very well. Before you ask, my name is Lucario," the now-named Lucario accepted. Nodding at this, and remembering his unpleasant experience, Ben figured it would be best to get someone who would not fall victim to an ambush from any side. Slapping at the symbol, he quickly turned into one of the aliens he unlocked when he was 10. This one was yellow skinned, wore black pants held by a belt with the Omnitrix symbol serving as the buckle, had eyes all over his upper body and arms, and instead of eyes on his face, he had bat-like ears.

"OCULUS!" he cried out. Ever since he had gotten back from Mad Ben's dimension, he realized "Eye Guy" wasn't as creative as he thought it was. Ben 23, his younger, richer, and egotistical alternate self, had given his Opticoid sample the same name, and his names included "Freezeghost", "Charcoal Man", "Handy Man", "Mr. Monkey", and "Toolboxx"; completely lame names in his opinion. If Ben 23 was using the same name as he was, it was time something a bit more creative.

Codon Stream Entry: Oculus

Species: Opticoid

Home World: Sightra

A home planet made without rock, Sightra is an incredibly unusual planet. Because it is made of a gelatinous substance, the species of this planet evolved to lack a bone-based skeletal system, and their main resident, the Opticoids, are no exception, having a skeletal system based on cartilage instead. Evolving to hunt down prey at all times and all angles, Opticoids have eyes all over their body, giving them 360-degree vision. Their eyes also have the ability to unleash numerous attacks, such as fire blasts, eye goop, lightning, and even freezing beams.

¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦l¦

Readying himself for battle, he felt a familiar voice enter his hearing. "Why did you call out your transformation? It is quite odd," Lucario questioned.

"I used to think it struck fear into my enemies, but now it's just a simple force of habit. They do die hard, you know," Oculus answered. With his back against Lucario's, Corvo, Oso, and León surrounded the two, and soon, Fistrick joined them, and he definitely did not look happy in the slightest.

"How many freaks do you have helping you out? First your cousin is a master of real hocus-pocus, her boyfriend is able to absorb any matter, your partner is some cat-man, and don't get me started on your girlfriend! Now you have some weird blue mutt that just happens to be there to stop us?" Fistrick screamed. Oculus could see Lucario grit his teeth in anger, as was he; the guy was rude, yes, but that was no reason to call him names.

"He's the freak? Buddy, eye think you should spend some more time looking yourself in the mirror!" Opening up the eyes on his palms, Ben unleashed streams of green fire Fistrick and Oso. The two dodged the attack, but Ben quickly went on the offensive, leaping towards Fistrick with monkey-like agility and unleashing a barrage of punches. Fistrick either dodged or blocked most of the attacks, occasionally attempting to shoot him with the blaster on his left gauntlet or slash him with the claws on his right gauntlet. However, something caught his eye. Oso was using his suit to lift a car through his magnetic powers, and soon tossed at Ben. Thinking quickly, he had the eyes on his upper left arm quickly fire green lightning at the car, which then exploded, though the resulting shockwave knocked all three off their feet. Ben and Fistrick quickly recovered, though Ben quickly took the chance to close all eyes except for the ones on his upper right arm, firing a freeze beam that froze the human criminal solid.

Turning his attention to Oso, it was obvious the burly man did not take kindly to his leader ending up a human popsicle, and letting out a war cry, he charged at the Opticoid, fist raised up. Nimbly dodging the following punch, he saw that the man had left a crater in the ground, and Ben let out an internal sigh of relief at this, but recognized the Omnitrix would run out of power soon enough.

Preparing his ultimate move, every eye on his body closed shut, and a giant eye within his chest opened up. As it glowed, Ben gave out a quip, "I see great pain in your immediate future right about…", and after enough energy had charged, he released a powerful energy blast and screamed, "NOW!". Oso had no time to dodge, and quickly began tumbling far away, letting out a groan before falling unconscious. Dusting his hands off after closing the eyes on his palms, he noticed that Lucario had finished his fight as well, with both Corvo and León unconscious. "Nice job, Lucario. Fistrick and his gang aren't the most threatening, but I definitely shouldn't have underestimated them. How'd you manage to defeat those two, though?"

Chuckling a bit, Lucario began his recollection, "Well, you see…"

After the newly christened Oculus blasted the leader and white-haired man, Lucario decided to focus his attention on the other two.

The scowls on their face clearly showed they didn't appreciate him attacking their leader, and the longhaired man let out a scream before wildly shooting electric blasts at Lucario. Still, they weren't too hard to dodge, and Lucario was able to dodge the shots with ease. Weaving around them, he quickly lifted his knee to try to hit him in the gut, but his partner seemed to notice, and as electricity crackled around his fists, Lucario's Detect kicked in, and he noticed the attack coming, and quickly hopped a few feet away from his initially position. The electric blast went straight through the ground, Lucario having escaped unscathed.

Shifting back into a combat stance, the longhaired man finally spoke. "I don't know what you are or what you want. But you attacked our leader, and I ain't gonna let that slide. I wasn't anticipating to test the new feature like this, but I guess it won't hurt if I give it a little test run on you," he declared with a smirk. Pushing a button on the device, electricity quickly gathered around the other end of the weapon, morphing into a curved blade made of electricity. It wouldn't take a genius to realize that getting hit by that would hurt a lot. As the fight dragged on, the man's wild slashes become more and more erratic, but Lucario wasn't worried. His technique was sloppy, and there was no really coordination; all he was doing was flailing about angrily hoping to hit him. Swinging the blade at him, the longhaired man tried to at least disarm Lucario, but years of training under the a knight of Cameran Palace told him just what he needed to do. It was obvious the man was meant to be a ranged fighter, and that melee fighting wasn't his forte. However, any easy ideas quickly ended when he heard the red-haired man let out a scream and managed to hit Lucario in the gut with a gauntlet-covered fist.

The wind knocked out of him, Lucario was forced to resort to dodging, and it soon became obvious that both of them were getting exhausted. That was made pretty clear by the sweat running done the redhead's face and his next line. "Hold still, you freaky mutt so I can punch you!"

Gritting his teeth and scowling, Lucario asked, "Why would I do that? I want to win this fight, and I won't if you hit me with those gauntlets of yours," Growling at this, his opponent tried to blast him with his paralyzing beam again, and once again, Lucario managed to dodge it, but he was soon aware of a wire wrapping around his left ankle, and a force dragging him backwards. Recognizing the coil around him as that of the longhaired man's weapon, Lucario noticed said individual smirking, and trying to drag him towards him. Lucario was unfazed. Grabbing the coil, he tugged in the opposite direction, and the man, unprepared for Lucario's strength, flew towards him. Seeing the backpack was obviously a power source, Lucario took one of his claws and proceeded to rip straight through it, resulting in it sparking, and the electric sickle quickly vanished without current to keep it running. The longhaired man was shocked, and Lucario finished the fight with a simple paw to the face, knocking the man unconscious.

It was then that Lucario remembered a little detail every time the redhead used his electrical attack: the cylinders would become brighter, and with that information, Lucario went on the attack against him. Deciding to distract him with a rapid onslaught of punches, the man's attention shifted to defense, unable to figure where Lucario would attack next. After he felt the time was right, he slashed each cylinder, and soon, the man was lit up like the lures on a Chinchou, sometimes with his skeleton showing, before collapsing into a smoking heap. With his opponent falling unconscious, Lucario let himself smile: his first battle in his new home, and he had won!

"Not bad, Lucario. You did pretty well for your first fight," Oculus said, genuinely impressed. It was fairly obvious Lucario held a less than positive opinion about him, yet he was still willing to fight alongside him to stop Fistrick. "How about eye give you a proper introduction?" Slapping the Omnitrix symbol, Ben returned to his normal human appearance: a 17-year-old Caucasian with green eyes and brown hair. He had returned back to his old outfit of a black shirt, a green jacket with the number 10 stitched onto the right side, blue jeans, and black sneakers. "My name is Ben Tennyson. Nice to meet you Lucario!" Continuing his placating gestures, he let out a small smile and extended his right hand.

Author's Note: Like I promised, now our other main character has shown himself: Ben Tennyson has made his true debut. Just don't expect Lucario to be buddy-buddy with him just yet after his seeming dimness. That will come in due time, but not now. And yes, Ben has been changed to his UAF appearance, as has Ghostfreak. I feel like this design was better than his Omniverse appearance, but I do prefer Steve Blum to Jeff Bennett as his voice. Just remember that for now, this is third person limited, so sometimes you see from Ben's perspective, other times from Lucario's. The breaks will be used to indicate drastic scene breaks or perspective shifts, though I may just end up using third-person omniscient POV. Last, after this week ends, don't expect me to be updating this often until mid-May; I'm a student, and most of my attention will go to studies. And one thing I want to draw attention to: please leave reviews! I'm happy my story is getting favorites and follows, but to become better, I need to know where I'm going wrong. So please, leave reviews about anything: plot, writing style, I just want some advice.
