Please review if you like this story, much love!
"Hn! Ah-ah-phck!" Gavin had no idea how he'd agreed to this, but fuck, he was glad he had. His hands gripped the crisp pillow beneath his head tightly as he squeezed his eyes shut and tilted his chin up. He could barely fucking breathe. He'd been stripped completely naked while Nines had kept his own suit on, though he'd laid his jacket neatly over the back of the smart office chair. If it had to be a hotel room, then it was probably best that Nines had chosen it. No way would Gavin have paid out for such a nice place. "N-Nines!" The sound was like a high keen that he barely recognised as his own voice.
He finally opened his eyes and looked down between his open thighs. Nines was nuzzling the inside of one thigh as he lounged on his front. Gavin's legs had been hooked loosely over his large shoulders, giving him access and a certain amount of control. His large hands were caressing and encouraging him wider, always being so fucking gentle. Nines' brow was creased in concentration, all six eyes hyper focused on his quivering body. A small sound that almost sounded like a mechanical hum escaped his parted lips as he continued to attend him.
Gavin gripped the pillow harder as he felt Nines' tongue press deeper. The smaller tendrils caressed and teased his insides, lavishing his walls with that gentle numbing agent. He'd thought it would be a onetime deal, but even almost three weeks later, Nines was still insisting it hadn't healed yet. The amount of treatments had lessened somewhat. At first, Nines had convinced him to do it twice a day, and for those first few days he'd needed it. After Nines' treatments, the pain was usually all but gone. He'd been able to return to work way sooner because of it. He swore he'd added a healing agent of some sort, because he'd never recovered from injuries so quickly before. After the first few days, things had gotten better. Even without the regular treatments, Gavin had been able to walk just fine and sit for short periods before it became too much. It had been tender and uncomfortable, but it had reached the point he could cope.
That wasn't good enough for Nines. Why sit in pain when that discomfort could so easily be erased? That was Nines' argument, and it always sounded like a damned good one to Gavin because it did hurt. It was uncomfortable. Even now, weeks later, he could feel the tender bruising. The swelling had gone down, and the tears were slowly healing up, but it still hurt. It was bearable. Unlike those first few weeks, he no longer cried from the pain. He barely even winced anymore. It was like an annoying background ache at this point. He didn't need Nines' numbing salve anymore. Not usually. Today had been a special case. Was it though?
He'd been on desk duty for a few days, and it was their first day back out on the streets. He'd been cleared for duty. Barely. He knew by now what to say when shrinks asked the questions, and he was still going to therapy. Since it was their first day back, it was also their first day being on their feet for hours on end. They'd been tracking down witnesses for Hank. They were starting gently. Easing him back in. Using me as their bitch-boy more like! Walking around for so long had made him sore and tired. He wasn't out of shape or anything, but he hadn't been able to keep up his regular regime through the pain of his injuries. The pain really hadn't seemed that bad. He'd gone a whole day and a half without having Nines' numbing agent, and he'd been feeling pretty good about it. Sure, there was an underlying throb, and his legs were getting a workout, but it was fine. He'd thought it was fine.
"Detective, you are experiencing heightened levels of physical discomfort." Nines had said it like he was reading a news report. Stating a simple, significant fact. Gavin had paused part way up the street and looked back. They'd taken one of the quieter roads to avoid the lunchtime rush on the main shopping strip. He hadn't tested Nines in a crowd since that time in the Plaza mall. He still shivered whenever he thought about it. The teeth digging into his shoulder. The wet slide of Nines' tongue against his chest. The tendrils suckling and teasing. He'd raised an eyebrow at the assertion.
"What? I'm fine, Nines!" He'd actually been a little bewildered by the statement. I know my body better than you do, and I feel fine! Nines had stepped to his side and brought one leather clad hand up to cradle his chin. All six of his luminous blue eyes had gazed down at him. Scanning him. Nines' thumb had stroked his jawline almost intimately, sending a spark of confusion through Gavin's chest. "Nines, I feel fine! I'm just a little achy is all." He'd stepped back to escape that almost intimate touch and run a hand through his hair. He couldn't help feeling that this whole helping thing was getting a little out of control.
"You are favouring your right side, and you cannot walk straight…I have booked a hotel. I shall apply a fresh layer of my numbing agent to see you through the day." Nines hadn't really given him a choice in the matter. Gavin had been somewhat speechless. It was a little weird, maybe even controlling. He'd sighed at the thought. Nines didn't think like that. He didn't have that manipulative streak like humans did. He was just being efficient. "Let me take care of you." The words had shot straight to his dick because no one said shit like that to Gavin Reed. Gavin wasn't some fragile flower that needed to be pampered. Not to anyone besides Nines anyway.
"Don't you think this is going a bit far? We're at work, and I'm totally fine! I can make it to the end of the day without-" A hand over his mouth had halted his objections. Nines' LED had shifted to yellow, luminous eyes sharpening slightly. Gavin had sighed against the soft leather, glaring up at Nines as he was backed into the wall. Luckily, there weren't many people around, and those that were around saw well enough to mind their own business. It was at times like this that he realised how fucking big Nines was. It only seemed like a few inches when they were standing side by side, but it felt like so much more when Nines was leaning over him like this.
"Your insistence on putting yourself through this discomfort is unacceptable." The words came out almost intimately, his tone low and almost purring. Phck, I'm going to get the wrong idea if he keeps phcking doing this…Am I getting the wrong idea? Is this really just…He'd realised it was a bad fucking idea right then. He had no idea whether Nines had developed some sort of deeper attachment, but he certainly fucking had. How could he not? He'd had the guy's tongue in his ass at least thirty times at this point. For the record, that's more times than his last five boyfriends combined.
"Phck, alright! Fine!" It was a bad idea, but his whole life had been built on a foundation of bad ideas. Nines had looked oddly satisfied as he'd caved in. All six of his silvery blue eyes had softened, and his lips had curled slightly at the edges. He'd stepped back and rested his hands uniformly behind his back as he'd led the way. He'd chosen a place less than ten minutes away, in a busier part of town. Gavin had held his clothed wrist on the way down the street, giving him something to focus on besides the people. Luckily, being over six feet tall with six eyes made people give him a wide berth anyway. Nines had dragged him into a small but pretty upmarket lobby.
It was classy, all cream marble and mahogany wood. Nines had gone to the desk, scaring the ever-loving crap out of the kid on duty. Gavin had taken pity on him pretty quickly and joined Nines with a reassuring grin. The young man had managed to stumble through the check-in and wireless payment before directing them to the elevators. The elevators were as fancy as the rest. Glass with metal railings, overlooking a bustling dining hall. Nines had winced a little at the echo of cutlery and voices. Why did he choose somewhere so busy? The answer had become clear as soon as they'd reached their room. They were away from the dining hall, so it was pretty quiet anyway, but after closing the heavy door, there was nothing. No traffic. No voices on the streets. No kids running in the halls. It had been eerily quiet.
"You'll be pleased to know the walls are soundproofed." Nines had already tugged his jacket off at that point. Gavin's skin had heated at the reassurance. Nines had helped him strip, something that had been necessary in those earlier days, but not so much now. He was sore and tender, but he could twist and bend now. Nines always seemed to take the time to analyse and examine his body as it was being revealed. He'd removed his gloves and artificial skin layer to run his cool, armoured hands over Gavin's bare torso. It had been a strange cross between clinical and intimate. He'd pressed the fading bruises and stroked his ribs before caressing his pecs. "Your injuries are healing nicely."
"See? I told you, I'm fine," Gavin had insisted in an almost gravelly tone. Nines' hand had slowly stroked down from his shoulder, along his arm, to his wrist. He'd cradled his hand and used the other to gently squeeze and press the joint. Gavin had hissed a little at that. It was still tender, though usable. He wouldn't be chasing down perps for the next few weeks, but it was fine for a little legwork. Nines' shiny black fingers had soothed almost apologetically before moving down to the waistband of his jeans. Gavin had helped in sliding out of his shoes, and everything else had slipped off with the heavy denim.
"Lie down and spread yourself. I want to examine you." Nines had sounded like a doctor about to examine a patient. Gavin had almost snorted at the instruction. Usually, he'd get on his knees, but today he'd decided to throw Nines off and lie on his back. He'd settled on the double bed, resting against two plush pillows, and parted his legs. He'd regretted it almost immediately as Nines had loosened the high collar of his shirt and crawled forward on his knees. Gavin had gasped and stiffened as Nines had leaned over him, kneeling between his legs like a lover. He'd been in the perfect position for Gavin to wrap his legs around his waist and-Nines had reached across and grabbed one of the thick pillows from the spare side of the bed. Gavin had swallowed as Nines had looked down at him, all six eyes glittering with mirth as he'd read Gavin's arousal in his vitals. "Raise your hips."
Gavin had done as asked and Nines had stuffed the pillow beneath his tailbone, raising his rounded rump from the mattress. Nines had shuffled back and lowered himself to his front, propping himself up on his elbows as he'd slowly pushed Gavin's legs further apart and settled them over his shoulders. Gavin had melted into a puddle of mush not long after as Nines' tongue had mercilessly assaulted his tight ring. He'd watched with his usual mixture of horror and arousal as Nines' snakelike jaw had unhinged and his tongue had snaked out with searching tendrils. It always felt so fucking good. Gavin had bitten the back of his hand at first until Nines had reached up and tugged it away.
The room is soundproofed, Detective. Do not concern yourself with such modesty. Nines' sharp eyes had almost looked hungry as Gavin had looked down at him with heated cheeks. Two of Nines' eyes had been focused on the task at hand, but the top four had remained fixed on his face the whole time. Gavin couldn't help it. He'd moaned and whined helplessly after that, and he swore he'd felt Nines fucking shudder at the keening sounds. Lying on his back was a new and fucking regrettable experience. Usually, he'd bury his flushed face in the pillows and bite his way through the pleasure, but spread open on his back, there was nothing he could do back cry and whine and beg as he looked down and watched Nines tongue fucking him. Tendrils sneaked up to caress and tease his balls and perineum, sending new sparks of pleasure across his skin. Having Nines watching him, being on full display like this, was so much more intense.
Nines seemed almost content as he worked. His large hands reached down to mould against his ass and spread him wider. Gavin took the hint and shifted his feet to the sheets on either side, opening himself as wide as possible. He threw a hand over his forehead and almost sobbed out Nines' name in a desperate plea. He swore he almost felt him fucking purr at the sound. If he keeps doing that I'm going to phcking-The thought cut off with another moan as Nines' tendrils teased the wall against his prostate. His whole brain felt like it had turned to mush as he writhed and squirmed. It was so good. So fucking good. Gavin felt his cheeks flush as he looked down to find all six of Nines' eyes gazing up at him with some unnamed feeling. It was beyond analysis at this point.
"Phck-Nines-I'm-" He didn't have time to give a proper warning as he came. Gavin watched in shock as white painted Nines' face. Five of his eyes shut as the sticky seed splashed across his skin and dripped down his forehead and cheeks. "Phck! I am so sorry, phck, let me find something!" Gavin was flustered as he pushed himself up and looked around for a box of tissues. Nines had seemed stunned at first, jaws still thrown wide as he slowly withdrew his tongue from Gavin's slick passage. Gavin was unsure how to feel as he watched those tiny tendrils getting to work on his dripping face, sucking up his sticky release. He finally spotted a leather tissue box holder by the coffee machine. Fancy as phck…
"Thank you, Detective." Gavin didn't even know what he was being thanked for at this point as he returned to sit on the edge of the bed and tugged a few tissues free. The tendrils had done most of the actual cleaning. Gavin was just left to stroke and pat the skin dry. He was especially thorough, but careful, around his eyes. He remembered how sensitive they'd been the first time he'd prodded one. Phck, we've come a long way since then…It didn't seem that long ago. Barely five months. "You seem troubled…" Nines observed as Gavin finally lowered the screwed up tissues.
"Not troubled exactly, but…What the phck are we?" He watched Nines' head tilt in confusion at the question. Of course it fucking did. Nines had no social awareness for this sort of thing. To Nines, this could genuinely just be medical care, but to Gavin, it was just fucking confusing. Lying on his back had definitely been a bad idea. It was making him see things that weren't there. Each time he'd caught Nines' eye, he'd sworn there was heat. Each stroke and squeeze of his hands had felt intimate. Each nuzzle had seemed almost caring.
"We are partners." It always came back to that. Gavin pinched the bridge of his nose as he got to his feet and padded a little way away from the bed. It was a cosy room. The double bed overlooked a wide window, and on Gavin's side there was a large space with a comfortable armchair before a cool marble wall. The desk ran along the bottom of the bed across the window and ended in a small box shelf for shoes or bags. Classy but functional. Beside Nines' side was a small glass wall that separated the bedroom from the small hall that led to a small bathroom.
"We're work partners, Nines! Work partners don't do this shit!" He shouldn't be so uptight about it. Of course, Nines wouldn't know the difference. He hadn't been programmed like that. He was so new that he was pretty much a blank slate being filled up as they went. Phck! Does that mean I've been taking advantage of him? The thought was unsettling, to say the least. It certainly hadn't been his intention, and it had always been Nines' suggestion.
"I am merely ensuring your wellbeing…Is that not what partners do?" Nines seemed so innocently curious, and Gavin couldn't believe they were having this conversation naked. Naked in a hotel room. Well, he was naked. Nines was still fully dressed besides the loosened collar and the removal of his jacket and gloves.
"Not like this…This is the sort of shit that lovers do. Work partners are only supposed to help with…you know, work stuff…Like paperwork and covering each other's backs," Gavin replied as he paced across to the marble wall. Nines had remained kneeling on the bed so far, though he'd shifted to face him. "I guess I…I need to know what this means…" because I don't want to get attached if you don't…
"Humans…You have such a penchant for labelling things…Can it not simply be?" Nines asked curiously, his eyes blinking one set at a time. He seemed almost like a sage old man looking at a child as he examined Gavin. It wasn't a feeling Gavin appreciated as he crossed his arms. He almost felt vulnerable, like he was pushing unfairly.
"Humans need labels, Nines…We don't work like androids. We need clear boundaries! We like to put our relationships into neat little boxes…I mean, would you do this shit with Hank?" Gavin would have huffed at Nines' almost disgusted expression if the topic wasn't so serious. His lips had pinched and his eyes had thinned at the suggestion of his tongue going anywhere near his superior's ass. Gavin wasn't sure if he should be relieved or flattered that he was rated so highly.
"He is not my partner," Nines excused smoothly, his LED glowing yellow as he contemplated Gavin's argument. Gavin huffed as he rested his hands on his hips. The bruises were now fading to yellows and greens, barely leaving an ache in the muscles anymore.
"Run a theoretical! Say something happened to me and we weren't partners anymore. I died on duty and-"
"I would not allow that to happen." Nines' LED flickered red for a moment at the very suggestion, his blue eyes sharpening. Gavin was somewhat touched. Even if he didn't care in a sexual way, he cared enough on a social level for the idea of him dying to upset him. Gavin softened a little as he watched Nines almost twitch at the unpleasant thought.
"Shit happens, Nines…You can't prevent everything. Besides, it's just a theoretical," Gavin soothed as he watched Nines stuttering between red and yellow. He remained silent, eyes darting back and forth as if struggling to process. Gavin sighed as he realised Nines wasn't going to go for it. "Alright, fine! How would you feel if I did this shit with someone else?" The question had barely left his lips when Nines' six eyes fixed on him, the colour shifting from blue to red. Barely two seconds later, Gavin had stumbled back into the marble wall as Nines slammed his hands on either side of his head, caging him against the cool surface. He felt the pit of his stomach drop as his wide green eyes met searing red.
Who? Nines demanded as his jaw unhinged and poised to bite his throat and shoulder. Maybe a few months back, Gavin would have been fucking terrified as those teeth and that long tongue came into view. Their chests were barely an inch apart as Nines leaned over him. Well…that's definitely a phcking reaction…
"I don't phcking know! Somebody! Does it bother you?" Gavin demanded as he shoved Nines' large chest. It didn't exactly do anything. If Nines didn't want to be moved, then he wouldn't be moved. It almost seemed like he clammed up at that. He seemed to soften as his jaw shrank and the skin covered his open cheeks. His LED was still spinning red as he took on an almost vulnerable air. His eyes returned to their usual luminous blue. They darted to look at Gavin and then at the floor as he drew back. "Nines, I need to know…" His reaction had given something away, at least. Nines clearly had a possessive streak. A fucking hot, possessive streak. That might not be the healthiest of mindsets…
"I…I am uncertain…I…" Nines seemed unable to process the request properly. He was unsure himself why his reaction had been so volatile. It was difficult to picture anyone else in his position. To imagine Gavin bowed and squirming before someone else. Begging and moaning for someone else. No one else would be able to offer him the same stimulation, of course, but that didn't stop the images from being…unpleasant.
"It's a simple question, Nines…It either bothers you or it doesn't…" Gavin's voice was gentle as he remained pressed against the cold marble. If he hadn't come such a short time ago, he'd probably be rock solid at this point. The smooth, cold surface made him shiver as Nines' fully clothed body crowded him in from the front. Nines' lower lip trembled a little as his blue eyes darted to Gavin's uncertainly. "Nines…" Gavin was hesitant as he leaned closer, biting his lower lip as he slowly brought his hands up to rest against his shoulders. He was tentative, ready to draw back the moment Nines have him a clear stop signal. He didn't.
"Gavin, I…" He didn't know how to conclude that sentence. His heat tilted uncertainly as Gavin reached up and gently fisted a hand in his hair. It sent a pleasant shiver across his sensitive skin, especially as his other hand slipped higher to rest on the back of his neck and pull him lower. Nines allowed the movement, all six eyes watching as Gavin closed his own eyes and stood on tiptoe, bringing their faces level. Gavin's head naturally tilted to the opposite side as they slotted together with a gentle press of lips. Nines' mouth didn't move. This had never happened before. He wasn't entirely sure he'd been designed to process such contact as the sensors of his mouth almost exploded with pleasure and information. The exact makeup of Gavin's DNA. The precise softness of his lips. The level of pressure he was exerting. A strange sound escaped his own throat as Gavin's lips actually moved and brushed across his own. He wanted more.
Gavin grunted as his back hit the wall again, but Nines didn't break contact as he leaned down lower. He followed Gavin's lead, mimicking the lazy motions. His eyes blinked wide as Gavin's teeth nipped and teased his lower lip. He had to be more careful if he reciprocated such things. His own teeth were far stronger and sharper than Gavin's. Gavin moaned softly, his mouth opening. Nines was surprised to feel Gavin's tongue sweep across his lips. It made his sensors dance. He opened his mouth at the second insistent nudge and was soon trembling for a whole new reason as Gavin's tongue slipped between his lips to slide along his sharper teeth.
"Phck, Nines…" Gavin's voice was breathy as he hummed and held on tighter. Nines couldn't even find his voice as he felt Gavin's tongue sweep into his mouth again. The tip of his own tongue teased along Gavin's, the small tendrils twisting and sucking. He was careful. It wasn't his intention to cause harm. Gavin whined into it, his tongue flicking and sliding along his own, accepting the tiny, teasing sucks and strokes. He was flushed and breathless as he drew back and leaned against the wall. Nines was stiff as he stepped back, his LED pulsing red as he processed the experience. "Nines…you good?"
"Processing…" Was all that Nines managed to get out as he tried to catalogue the experience. Gavin seemed vulnerable as he remained against the wall, green eyes uncertain as he waited. Gavin sighed, feeling bad as he eventually pushed himself up and gathered his clothes. Nines was still processing as he righted his collar and tugged on his jacket and gloves. Maybe it had been too much to expect an answer right away. Maybe he'd pushed Nines beyond his comfort zone. He was sympathetic as he laid a hand on Nines' larger shoulder.
"It's alright, Nines…Just forget it," he murmured as he headed into the bathroom. He'd use the shower before they left. May as well. Nines had paid for the room and the products were free. He sighed almost forlornly as he turned on the water. Phck! I shouldn't have pushed it! He just hoped he hadn't fucked up their partnership.
