- What the...
Damn it...
Where was he.
This bedroom...
Its white walls...
It wasn't his bedroom.
And that stabbing pain on the whole left side of his face...
That inability to open his left eye.
What did it all mean...
Goren put his hand to his face and found bandages covering the whole left side of his face.
What could have happened to him...
Flashbacks flashed through his mind, chilling him with fear, and making him scream.
At his scream, Eames woke up with a start, and walked over to Goren, leaning his face towards him.
- Bobby... Eames took his hand in hers, squeezed it. I'm here...
My God...
Eames could not believe it...
And yet it was true.
Goren had finally woken up.
It was a miracle.
She couldn't hold back the tears that welled up in her eyes and slid down her cheeks.
She had been so afraid of losing him.
She was so happy to find him.
That voice calling her...
Goren turned his head in the direction the voice came from.
And met a face he knew so well.
But such a sad face.
Eames' big hazel eyes looked at him, shining with tears.
Eames...
My God...
There she was...
Her tear-stained face was leaning over him.
His heart sank at the sight.
Eames was crying.
Her eyes swollen and red...
Her face so white...
And so sad.
Eames had cried a lot.
But luckily...
Eames was unharmed.
They hadn't touched Eames.
They didn't touch his beautiful face, which had no scratches on it.
And he was so relieved.
But his images...
This blade which was planted on his face...
My God...
It wasn't a dream...
It was a nightmare.
He couldn't forget the pain he felt when the skin of his face was shredded under the blade.
And his bandages...
Could only make him realize that this was indeed reality...
As well as the excruciating pain he felt on the whole left side of his face.
Goren was reliving the scene over and over again...
But the worst part...
Was...
The screams...
And the crying of Eames.
He could never forget the distress he had felt in her voice.
And Eames was there...
With tears streaming down his face...
A was worried about him.
This Eames so strong...
Was so fragile in that moment.
- It's all my fault...
Goren sighs.
Pardon.
It's all my fault...
How could Eames say such a thing.
She was not responsible for what happened to him.
And if he hadn't taken her place...
She would have been the one to go through this.
And he would never have allowed it.
- Don't talk nonsense...
Goren winced in pain.
Damn it...
Even talking was torture.
He was suffering martyrdom.
And to think that if he hadn't interfered...
It would be Eames who would live through this.
No...
That would not have been possible.
Eames was like his little sister...
And like any big brother...
He had only protected her.
Nothing more normal.
Don't talk nonsense...
At her words, Eames' tears redoubled.
How could he say it was nonsense.
Because of her, he was in this state.
If he hadn't taken her place...
He would never have gone through this.
She had been so afraid of losing him.
And the scream he gave...
A scream that made her blood run cold...
While he was being mutilated.
She could never forget it.
In anguish, and fear...
She had waited for hours before they were found...
Worrying about Goren's condition.
And then the door opened...
Opening on a light...
And revealing Barek.
Logan and Barek had managed to find them...
And Logan was crouching beside Goren on the ground...
He had forbidden Eames to approach.
Refusing to let her see the scene...
But Eames had not listened...
And had rushed to Goren's side.
Arrived at the height of Goren…
She had stopped, as if forbidden...
Shocked.
Eames' heart had broken into a thousand pieces.
She could never forget that awful scene of Goren's face mutilated, and all that blood...
Logan had not hesitated for a second...
Given Goren's condition...
He rushed to the hospital to take him there...
Accompanied by Barek who maintained Eames still under the shock.
But when he arrived at the hospital...
The bad news had fallen.
Goren had lost a lot of blood.
And the doctors were not sure if he would make it...
And that he would make it through the night.
But he told them...
That if he ever got out...
He would have severe damage to his face on the left side...
That he would keep a scar all along his face...
And that he would no longer see out of his left eye.
My God...
Eames didn't know how to tell her...
To announced him...
That he would never see out of his left eye again.
And that he would have a scar all over his face.
All because of her.
If he hadn't sacrificed himself for her...
He would never have gone through that.
It wasn't fair.
Goren didn't deserve this.
- Bobby... Eames brought his hand to her right cheek, stroking it with infinite gentleness. Welcome back among us…
What else could she have told him...
Eames knew that if she told him the bad news...
For one thing, she wouldn't have the courage...
And of two...
She would burst into tears.
But to know that he had made it out was so wonderful.
And only that mattered to her.
Goren was alive.
And nothing else mattered.
And no matter what his sequels was.
She would be there for him...
As he had been there for her.
