May: Sorry about the arrangement. This is Chapter 16: Chapter 15. Right? So, yeah, I have half a mind to remove the synopsis just so that all the chapters will slide perfectly in order. So what do you think? Should I remove it?
Chapter 15
It's been a few days since the incident that happened in the dining hall, and the incident with Ushio which the Headmaster had promptly had discussed with the student about it. Hopefully the other would have taken the advice to the heart.
It wouldn't do no good for one to be expelled from the school just as the few days of the school year rolled.
Mahad let out a tired sigh as he removed his headdress and placed it on top of the table then turned to look outside the window. His indigo eyes gazing down on the students strolling the grounds with their friends.
Some sitting under the shade of the trees in the vicinity, their notebooks and books scattered around them. While some were either playing some sort of sport or another.
"It seems to me that you're looking for a particular student." a voice spoke.
The Headmaster turned his head to look at the vizier, this time dressed in a suit, closing the door after him, with a soft smile on his face.
"Not precisely." he answered then turned back to the window. "It just reminds me the time that I entered the Academy not a few years ago."
The older chuckled as he walked towards the younger. "Yes, and you were quite an introvert bacl then, seldom interacting with other students except for dance lessons."
The headmaster let out a snort. "You make it sound like I'm not a good student, Master Siamun."
Siamun laughed as he shook his head and stood beside him, his amethyst eyes looking down on the students. "Not exactly."
He then looked up at Mahad, his expression grim. "Although I've come here for a different reason altogether, Mahad."
Mahad turned his head to look at the older, his gaze inquiring.
"When are you going to tell him?"
"After class." Mahad answered as he turned away from the window. "Hopefully he will not be saddened by it."
"Who wouldn't?" the older spoke after a few minutes, his tone mournful. "Not when you've come this far only to fall."
The headmaster could only look at the older as the words sink into his thoughts.
"1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 3." Mahad counted loudly to the beat of the music as he watched the pair of boys danced in the room, their hands clasped together in the middle.
While on the board showed the footsteps of the dance lighting at the specific count that he specify to the beat of the music.
Yami concentrated as he bit the inside of his chin as he followed the beat, silently praying that he wouldn't step on his partner's shoes for the nth time that day.
When the final count came, he felt he was jolted out of his thoughts and he stepped onto Honda's shoe. The other groaned in pain as he hopped in one foot, shaking off the pain.
"Ow!" Honda hissed as he limped on one foot then regained his balance, glaring at Yami angrily.
"Again, Yami?" Mahad called in a reprimanding tone.
"Sorry." Yami answered back as he couldn't concentrate to the beat with his thoughts far from the class at hand. As it was in the last few days.
"You step on eight of my toes, " the Japanese noble told him as he pointed at his right shoe, angrily. "I only have four left."
"Two." the crimson eyed teen corrected. "You have two left."
Honda looked at him with an annoyed look on his face. "That's even worse."
The bell rung, signalling the end of the class and the other students began walking out of the room. Yami and his friends included.
Mahad looked at the back of the students, thinking for a while whether he should tell it or not. And decided that it should be best.
"Alright, class dismissed, see you tomorrow, " he told the students. "Not you, Yami." he called the attention of the male. "I'd like to see you after class."
"Well, that was a surprise." Seto remarked with a smirk as he walked with the black long haired boy.
"Is everything alright?" Yami asked timidly(go figure, he is not usually like this).
Mahad frowned as he came near. "No, it's not, Yami." he told the student-not to gently. "Yesterday, Lord Akhenaden recommended we expel you." he told the younger as he turned on his heel and walked towards the bookshelf at the side of the room.
"I can't say I blame him." the headmaster continued as he took two books out of the shelf with a blue cover with gold designs and handed it to Yami. "It's only been a few days but honestly, I've never seen such a disaster a student." he finished as he handed the last books and placed it on top of the pile the teen was holding.
"I see." Yami murmured sadly.
"To tell you the truth, I was almost going to do it." the older told him with an angry remark amd turned on his heel. "It makes me wonder where the boy I've seen disappeared to."
"Did you say almost?' Yami asked as he followed after the older.
"Almost." the headmaster repeated as he threw a book that the teen handed him on the table.
He then continued as he walked in the middle of the row of two long tables with flatscreen computers on top. "Do you know what makes a prince?" his anger, cooling down somewhat.
"A crown?" the spiky haired teen answered uncertainly.
"No, not a crown." the headmaster said as he shook his head, a smile on his face. "Character."
He then turned again to the tables and began distributing the books, throwing some unceremoniously. "All our classes in pose, manners, dancing, they're not superficial. They built confidence.'
The headmaster told him with a smile then turned back again, walking towards the end of the table. "But confidence without character is dangerous."
"But you Yami on the other hand have a different problem, character without confidence." he told the younger as he turned to face him.
"So, you're going to expel me?" the teenager asked after a few moments of silence. Dreading the question he had raised. In the hopes that it would be better than what he imagined.
The headmaster could only look at him with a sad look on his face, his eyes showing sympathy to the teen infront of him. Not knowing what to say.
May: Dun..dun...dun...wonder what Mahad would say. Eitherway, to those who have watched the film, please for my sake no spoilers! Hehehe, it would destroy the aura set by the story. See you in the next installment of the story! Enjoy!
Additional: Sorry for the shortness of this part.
