May: I can feel it. The tension! Joke! Anyways for those who have been waiting this for so long! (Spoiler). This was supposed to be last Saturday but I wasn't feeling good so...I sincerely apologize for the delay.
Chapter 17
"Can you believe it?!" Marik cried in glee as he sat down on Yami's bed. "It's the last two days before coronation day!"
The tri-colored hair teen nodded his head groggily as he sat up. Tired from the last night's talk with the headmaster about his grades and standing within the school.
"Marik, can you please calm down?" another voice cried. Two teens-one awake and another half awake turned to look at the lump under the blankets.
"How can I calm down?" the Saudi prince cried as he jumped on the bed, causing Yami to fall and landed face down on the floor. He then turned to look at the teen. "Sorry, Yami."
"..S'okay." Yami mumbled then sat up and blinked a few times to make his sight clear of dots invading his vision.
"Oh, look what you did to Yami." Ryou chastised softly as he rose up from his bed and turned to give the other prince a half-hearted glare.
"It was purely accidental!" Marik defended himself.
The British prince heaved out a sigh then focused his gaze on their roommate who was sitting on the floor between their beds. "Yami, are you alright?" he asked, concerned.
"I'm fine, Ryou." Yami answered with a smile directed at the teen. "Don't worry, it's nothing serious."
The white haired teen nodded in assurance then turned to the platinum haired prince. "Okay, Marik. What is it you wamted to tell us that you woke us way too early for the day?"
"Yeah, what?" the lord royal in training asked as he turned to look at the said prince, his interest piqued.
"Finally!" Marik cried as he raised his hands in the air. "Thought you weren't going to ask! It's the last two days before coronation! Can you believe it?"
Yami and Ryou blinked simoultaneously at the thought. Last two days? Last two days before the coronation day?
"Seriously?" Ryou asked after a few minutes of silence between them as he couldn't believe at the thought.
"Seriously." Yami confirmed as he stood up from the floor and look at the calendar on his phone which was on top of the table. "It really is the last two days before coronation day.'
"I will really miss you guys." Marik sniffed as he got out of bed and gave each boy a hug. "It will never be the same without you guys around."
Yami chuckled as he patted Marik's back comfortingly. "We can always send each other emails. Don't worry though, we'll find the time to visit each other."
"Which reminds me..." Ryou asked out of the blue after the crying fest had gone passed. "What do we do today?"
Mahad took in a deep breath as he looked around the school's ballroom. This would be the last time that the students would be practicing their last steps-their last dance as students to move on to the beat of another journey as either lord royals or princes in their own respective courts.
"Nostalgic, isn't it?" a voice spoke and he turned his head to see a long blond haired woman with violet eyes, with her lips pulled into a small but yet fond smile.
"Yes." he replied with a smile. "The last two days before coronation day, Miss Valentine. Can you believe it?"
The woman let out a light snort. "I know." she then turned to look at him. "But...are you really sure about this?"
He nodded then turned to look at her. "Yes. Is something the matter that you felt the sudden idea to back down?" he asked in concern.
"Not really." she assured him as she crossed her arms over her chest. "It's just that my girls are not that proper when meeting refined gentlemen who also belong to their station."
He chuckled. "Well, I'm sure that they would be proper ladies this time around." then raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you the one who told me at the start of the school year that you would have them graduate like proper ladies should?"
"I know." she told him with a smirk. "And I think I'm quite ready to prove it to you."
"Let's see then."
"Alright then, gentlemen on the blue line, ladies on the pink line." Mahad announced as he watched his students line up properly with the ladies letting small squeals of excitement.
The headmaster smiled then continued. "Welcome ladies to a joint dance class with Prince Charming Academy."
No sooner than he said this, the ladies began to squeal louder than ever before. And he watched as his colleague, Miss Mai Valentine took the spotlight.
"If we can keep the shrieking to a minimum," she told the girls with a glare as she walked through the center of the lines. "It would be much appreciated."
She then raised an eyebrow as she saw one of her students standing away from the pink line. The one with the black hair tied in two buns above her head. Vivian Wong.
"Well, it seems we would have one extra lady." she announced.
A girl, with light violet hair tied in a ponytail with a yellow ribbon gestured to the pink line. "Vivian, that's the pink line." she gestured.
"I know, Miho." Vivian replied with slight annoyance. "I just don't see the crimson eyed teen. It's him I want to dance with."
Mai was about to suggest that she wait on the bench when someone raised her hand behind her and spoke. "Vivian, you can take my place." she told the girl who looked at her with wide eyes.
"Are you sure about this?" Mai asked her student. "Anzu, you will-"
"It's alright, headmistress." Anzu assured the older with a smile. "It's quite fine."
"Very well then." the headmistress conceeded then turned to look at Vivian. "Vivian, you take Anzu's place."
"But miss-" the black haired started to protest but stopped as soon as narrowed violet eyes met her gaze. "I understand." she mumbled and walked towards Anzu's place which was opposite a boy with platinum white hair and tan skin.
Mai, pleased with the arrangement then turned on her heel and walked back to the front of the circle. "That's settled then. Now, let's begin."
Mahad nodded then raised his hand to wave at the orchestra that was on balcony above them.
"Where is Yami?" Marik whispered to Ryou. "He was supposed to be with us, right?"
"I don't know." Ryou whispered back. "We left him back in our room, didn't we?"
The Saudi prince bit his lip then slowly nodded. "Yes." then lifted his head to look around the room.
Where is Yami?
Yami cursed under his breath as he ran down the school corridors, while inserting his blue shirt in his pants. Curse his luck for misplacing his shoes the other time and now he was late for their last class.
He turned around a corner and walked swiftly down the hallway, hoping against hope that they haven't begin yet. Oh, he could imagine the disapproval of the headmaster as he came in class late.
Anzu looked around the room aimlessly away from the others as she had given up her partner just so that her classmate wouldn't miss out a chance like this. It was rare that their school would get an opportunity to dance with their brother school.
'Well, you wouldn't have that chance.' she told herself as she walked away as the music began. 'You-
A body slammed into her sending her onto the floor on her bum, slightly embarassed and slightly at fault for she wasn't paying attention to where her she was going.
"I'm sorry." a baritone voice spoke as a hand held out infront of her.
Yami entered the class and cursed under his breath as he had no doubt had walked in when the the music began to start and as he was walking towards the group, he bumped onto someone and looked down to see an auburn haired girl with shoulder length hair on the floor on her bottom.
"I'm sorry." he breathed out as he held out a hand and couldn't help but think that she might be the most beautiful girl he had met.
"No, it's fine." she assured him as she looked up at the boy and blue eyes met crimson as they briefly looked at each other, breathless.
"No, it's not." Yami said as he shook his head, adamant breaking from the contact."I feel awful. Please." he pleaded.
Anzu looked up at the boy once more and couldn't help but notice that he had the strangest hair color of all she had met in her life. Hair sticking up like some sort of star, defying gravity with crimson tips outlining the edges with blond bangs framing his face with blond hair rising up in the fringe.
The face-it was beyond what she could even think. He was handsome there was no doubt about it.
She smiled a little as she took the outstretched hand and he pulled her up from the floor with ease.
A voice cleared behind them before they could even start a conversation with each other.
"I sincerely apologize for being late." he said as he walked towards his group.
Anzu blinked then looked at her fellow classmates and saw Vivian glaring at her.
'Oh, so this was the guy she wanted to dance with.' she thought as she averted her eyes to the crimson eyed teen. 'Well, I can't blame her, he's truly handsome.'
"That's fine." Mahad spoke as he looked at the two students with a smile. "You two can join the dance."
Vivian rolled her eyes in anger as she couldn't believe that she doesn't have the chance to dance with the most handsome guy in her opinion.
Anzu and Yami looked at each other for a brief moment then the teen cleared his throat as he held out a hand. "May I have this dance?" he asked with a smile.
She blinked then a real smile appeared on her face as she gave a small curtsy and took his hand. "Of course."
Together, they moved to their separate lines facing each other with small smiles on their faces directed at each other, unseen by the other students.
For once, Yami thought that this day couldn't have been any better.
May: Sorry again for the wait! Anyways, the reason why I chose Anzu/Tea was that she wasn't given justice in the first season of Yu-gi-oh! which was when I watched it was in the English dub. She came out as annoying and slightly dreamy character. So, yeah.
