Chapter 5 'To the Airport'
Well, I'm continuing this story as I have nothing better to do. I want to increase my upload schedule, or upload more frequently. Perhaps if I do these updates, I'll get myself into a rhythm of more frequent uploads.
So, this chapter contains an idea for a certain scene that I've had for ages. In fact, its actually one of the oldest scenes I had come up with for Bluey. The only scenes that I can recall being older is the scene with Mr. Blue Sky playing, and another scene further up ahead. These scenes were so old that I hadn't even come up with the name Bluey yet.
Anyways, without further ado, let's get on with it! Enjoy or suffer.

After the awkward scene with his owner, Martin, Bluey had managed to go to sleep. While his worries were still present, he did feel comforted by him freshening himself up. Bluey figured if he looked presentable and fairly attractive, he may be able to win the girl he's supposed to mate with over.
What he didn't realise is that he was still stressed out, and he discovered this the next morning. Bluey slowly opened his eyes, and he got out of his hanging pouch. He rubbed his eyes with his talons as he stood on his perch, and he noticed some feathers at the bottom of the cage once his eyes adjusted.
He sighed, knowing that he must've pulled his feathers out absently. He did that sometimes when he's stressed, and he never seems to remember doing so.
Light poured into his cage as his cover was pulled off. Bluey reflexively squinted his eyes, as the sudden brightness after waking up wasn't exactly pleasant on the eyes. Martin opened his cage,
''Come on, we need to get ready.'', Martin said, as he held his arm out for Bluey to perch on. He did so and was brought out of his cage. Martin walked out of his bedroom, and Bluey noticed some suitcases on the ground. It seems Martin had already packed most of their stuff. Martin's coffee was already done, and so was Bluey's hot chocolate.
Martin placed him down on the bench, and he grabbed Bluey's vitamins from the cupboard above the kitchen counter. As Bluey knew they shouldn't stuff ass around, he took his vitamins quickly, much to Martin's surprise.
''Wow, good job Bluey!'', Martin praised him, and he gave him a welcome scratch under his beak as a reward. Bluey smiled and closed his eyes, enjoying it thoroughly. An odd thought entered his head, wondering if the girl he's supposed to mate with would preen him there. Bluey sure as hell hoped she would.
He quickly brushed that thought aside as Martin took a few sips of his coffee, before placing it back down and grabbing a carry cage for Bluey. The cage was rather spacious for a carry cage and featured a food and water dish. With both of them having added lids that Bluey could open and shut whenever he needed to eat or drink. That way, bumps on the road didn't cause it to spill.
The cage floor was in a grid formation, which allowed any mess, be it food, water or his "waste" to be in a space below where he stood. Its basic hygiene for a cage. Inside, there was a book for Bluey to read.
Bluey didn't go inside, as Martin simply had it there for Bluey to get in quickly. Martin drank the rest of his coffee, went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He did this only to get rid of coffee breath. He also emptied his bladder, washed his hands and went back to the kitchen.
''Alright, we need to go.'', he said as he checked the clock on the wall. Bluey stepped inside of the cage. Martin grabbed the suitcases and Bluey's carry cage and went downstairs. He put them in his car that was at the back of the store, and they were soon done. His care was a simple 4/5-seater car, with two seats at the front and three in the back. It was black in colour, (even though black is a shade) and was in good condition.
Martin sat in the driver's seat, and Bluey sat in the passenger seat. Martin inserted the keys in and turned the car on. He set up the GPS, and once it was ready, he drove off.
They initially sat in silence, but Martin eventually switched the radio on. He turned the volume up.
''You are listening to K-R-A-P, the best station in the nation for lactation. Coast to coast, we've got the most. From Sault Falls to your balls. Now why don't you by some damn aluminium siding for your PIECE OF SHIT HOUSE!?'', the man on the radio said, and Martin immediately switched stations. Another man, this time someone with a deep voice in what appeared to be an advertisement, was the one speaking.
''Cat menstruation is a major issue, so please consider buying tampons for your cats.'', the man said, and Martin turned the radio off with a sigh.
''No…'', he groaned, ''This is why no one listens to the radio.'', he sighed. He grabbed his home-made CD, which was like a mixtape of his favourite songs. It had, in permanent marker, the words "EPIC SONGS VOL. 2" written on it. He put it in the CD player and turned it on. He quickly went through some of the songs, and he found one of them.
By now, he was on the highway, and the song Breadfan, by Budgie, was playing. Martin smiled, as one of his favourite songs was playing. The thrash like electric guitar intro was playing, and Bluey shared that same smile. Martin's musical tastes brushed onto Bluey, and so they both did like a lot of the same music.
The vocals came on,
Breadfan
Open up your mind
Open up your purse
Never, never, never gonna lose it
Martin started to nod his head to it, but something caught his eye. Some idiot was driving like a maniac. It appeared to be someone who hadn't got his license too long ago, and judging from his driving, it was a wonder how he even passed it. He was swerving and swerved past Martin.
''Idiot.'', Martin mumbled, and Bluey watched on. The driver swerved in front of another car, and the driver was quite angry, which was quite understandable.
''ASSHOLE!'', the driver shouted. The maniac still went on, swerving and grazing another car.
''YOU'RE CANCER ON THE AMERICAN ROAD!'', the man shouted as the maniac and the other driver came to a stop. It's a miracle they didn't crash, as that wouldn't be very good.
Martin slowed down a bit, as he drove past them, he briefly took a look at them. Martin quickly focused on the road, but Bluey stared at them as they drove away.
However, the rest of the drive went without incident. They arrived at an airport, and Martin unpacked their stuff. He had his car in long term parking and walked into the terminal. He got his phone and rang Luana, whom he had forgotten to ring earlier when he left.
''Hello?'', Luana spoke as she answered Martin's call.
''Hey, I'm at the airport. Are you here?'', Martin told her, as he continued walking.
''Yes, why didn't you ring me before?'', Luana asked, with a hint of frustration in her voice.
''I forgot.'', Martin answered sheepishly, chuckling a bit. Luana rolled her eyes,
''Well, I'm not too far from the entrance.'', Luana said, and Martin spotted her. He ran up to her.
''Hey.'', he greeted her awkwardly.
''Yeah, hi…'', she responded awkwardly. She quickly wanted to cut the awkward exchange short, ''So, lets get to the airport security and get on our plane.'', she said. Martin nodded,
''Yeah, let's do that.'', Martin agreed awkwardly, and walked over to the baggage checkouts.
Bluey sat there, cringing at their awkward exchanges. Its what happens when you put two socially awkward people together, but it seems to work better than a socially awkward person with someone who isn't like that. Bluey hoped that the bird he's supposed to save the species with would be like that. If not, he hoped he could be a smooth talker. He knew that was unlikely, given how well all his other attempts at socialising with other birds had gone.
But Bluey remembered, he wasn't there to fall in love with the bird. He was there to mate with her, and he figured she'd know. Considering how the fate of their species is in their talons, he knew if she had any decency, she'd mate with him for the sake of their species.
But another thought entered his head, he realised that they were being forced to mate with each other. At least the experience would be highly pleasurable, but what if they regretted it? From the girl's perspective, she's now been burdened with children, and would have to go through the pain of laying them, taking care of them, and having to raise fatherless children.
Bluey wondered what would happen to them. Would they stay with their mother? That wouldn't be fair for her, as she now has to raise children who won't meet their father. Bluey wouldn't get to see his babies, and they wouldn't get to see him.
If he had them, then they'd grow up without a mother, and their mother would be sad as she wouldn't get to see her babies. Bluey would be burdened with them, but at least he'd have Martin to help him.
What if they both had to raise them? That would be best for them, but where would they be? In Rio, or in Moose Lake? In either case, one of them is going to have to leave home. And if neither of them raise their kids, then that would be the worst one by a large margin. As their children would grow up without parents, just like he did… Bluey doesn't have the heart to do that. All the development issues of growing without parental love would deeply affect their children.
Bluey was snapped out of his thoughts by the sound of a baggage handler talking to his owner, Martin.
''Look, all pets have to be put separately from their owners.'', the woman said, and Bluey huffed when he heard her call him a pet.
''I'm a companion, learn the difference.'', Bluey mumbled.
''Hey, this bird is endangered, and I want him to be safely next to me.'', Martin argued. The woman shot him a confused look,
''But the rules are he has to be put separately.'', she argued.
''Hey, hurry up!'', a man shouted.
''Shush!'', Martin responded to the man. Luana showed the woman her ornithology card,
''We're taking this bird to Rio de Janeiro for important conservationist work. We must have him by our side, that way he can't be stolen. Please, you have to let us have him by our side.'', Luana argued, pleading to the woman.
''Ugh fine…'', the baggage handler sighed in defeat.
''Thank you.'', Martin and Luana thanked her, as they went along.
''I don't get paid enough for this…'', the handler mumbled, as she served the next person.
After waiting for half an hour, their plane was ready, and they headed over and boarded it. It wasn't a large plane, but it wouldn't take them straight to Rio. Instead, they'd transfer over at Minneapolis, and then they'd catch the flight to Rio de Janeiro. It had 3 stops along the journey, and it would take several days to arrive.
Bluey sat in his cage, which was on Martin's lap. They sat on the left side of the plane, and Martin sat by the window. Luana was next to him. Bluey was looking out the window in awe of the view. This also filled him with a bit of sadness, as he saw some geese flying in a V formation. He wished he could fly like them, but he couldn't.
On the plus side, they were at the height that they could be caught in plane engines, which can cause a plane to crash. So at least if Bluey could fly, he couldn't fly that high so that he'd be in danger of being shredded by a turboprop or turbofan engine.
Martin was reading a book he brought, and Luana was doing puzzles in a magazine she had. Bluey sighed, as he knew how long this journey would be. At least he'd get a happy ending when he got to Rio…
Well, that wraps up this chapter, I hope you enjoyed it!
So, I wrote this all in one go. I'm starting to get good at this, which is good news to anyone who reads my stories.
The scene in question was on the highway. Oh, and the lines said on the radio are taking from 'RANT | MUSIC INDUSTRY', by 2, the Ranting Gryphon. Its funny, please check it out I swear its not just a 'BORN IN THE WRONG GENERATION' video, as the dude is in his 40's.
Anyways, I don't know when the next chapter will be out, but it should hopefully be soonish.
Until next time, goodbye.
