Reviews
Whwsms:{Indeed she fucking has, thats what we call a true monster. No doubt these actions will come and bite her ass in the future.
Thanks, we should be getting close to the finally!}
Mr?{The main man is back, and yep glad you're loving it.
If Index's morals at the moment had allowed it. I likely would have but It made more sense for her to instead take Junko. Which just shows how far she has lost her humanity. I worked a bit more on this chap due to those themes actually. And should I be worried that the themes I'm playing with are ones you want to cover? First I find you saying this, then I see you respond to my review of the chapter of ACUL0 before the current one. Mentioning Yandere Misaka, and thats not even to mention you've already stated you like that idea…. SHOULD I BE WORRIED!?
Thanks, of course I likely will be outdone by you when you tackle the same themes cause damn it you just have a way with words I don't/
Her Unhinged state is something I really wanted to mess with. As for letting characters off a bit easy. I will say it's really an issue to try and find reasons she can't/won't do certain things and yet still give a way for the hero's to win. So, having her take Junko here instead of Misaki was a way to show how. Even if she's letting her live she's still punishing her.}
Fencer29:{ real issue is if there'll be a academy city left after she does XD}
Guest1:{Kinda the point, she's unhinged not really gonna make things better. And as for dragging things on. I'm not going to rush through this and give you half assed quality content. I'm trying to give quality. This story needs suspense, BUT! I hope this chapter delivers on what you've been waiting for. If mostly at the end of the chap.}
Tommthecommie:{XD true… true, very generous}
D. :{The best villain rants hold a grain of truth in them. Even if the truth is as twisted as Index gives it. And yeah part of the point of this chapter was to show how little humanity Index has left. She, while still technically Index, has adopted traits from multiple gods. If mostly Othinus as you'll see in this chapter.
Yeah, No doubt Misaki will fucking hate Index after this.}
5had0wHand:{Glad to hear that, I didn't want to end up seeming edgy as that… just doesn't work with this.
The first part of last chap was indeed meant to set the tone, it was a horror chap really. With Index portrayed as the unkillable unstoppable monster. It also however set up her logic behind eating espers and why she's doing it.
I worked a bit on that little chant Index said. It had a mix of the Freddy chant's tones and DM Dokuro's Devourer of God's theme tones. The description of the two tones should make it obvious which were which. Index wasn't pulling punches when she mocked Misaki. And while she in a sense was telling the truth. She was twisting and perverting it to make it hurt that much more. Really isn't that hard to figure out what Misaki is jealous of.
Um… something tells me you had a hard on in that chap… not the intended effect. And damn your sadistic XD. This chapter was meant to show just how far Index has fallen while also addressing Misaki and what it's like for her too be stuck on the sidelines. Only to realize she could have done something.
Whoah… yeah your def developing a fetish there man… laughs manically.
Government idiots will be government idiots.
Well here's that next chap}
One last reminder that this chap is a bit more mature based on the guidelines. Remember, Constructive criticism is both encouraged and desired. And with that out of the way.
Let this tale of an infinity commence once again.
Chapter 62
Roars of the dragon
Misaka limped across the sargasso, Saten to her side supporting her. They followed the rest of the group as they headed to reconvene with the rest of the Sargasso team.
She was not doing well, and a quick glance around told her the same of others.
Yomikawa winced as she walked, Kakine holding her up with his white body. She had a solemn look on her face as she bit her lip, shaking.
Awaki was unconscious being carried on a stretcher by anti-skill reinforcement that Uiharu had called for. Her hand hung over the edge as she breathed weakly.
Hamazura, and Takitsubo were on either side of Kinuhata carrying her. Her body was the worst off, multiple chunks of flesh were missing from her body. Her ribs were broken and parts of her skin were dissolved. Burns of an unknown kind covered what remained.
Hamazura had a broken arm, but other than that was mostly fine. His girlfriend was practically uninjured with only a few scrapes and bruises.
Kuroko was limping towards the back, Uiharu holding her up. The teleporter stared at the ground listlessly as she stumbled along. She was so out of it that she hadn't even tried her usual antics with Misaka.
Even the normally aloof and light hearted Gunha had grown grim. His face was contorted in pain as he forced himself to walk along. Misaka couldn't blame him, Weaver had torn a chunk of flesh out of his shoulder and eaten part of his ability.
A shaky breath exited Yomikawa's lips, "I can't do this anymore," Misaka's heart nearly stopped. "I'm so… tired, tired of watching kids fight, tired of seeing them become monsters. I can't bear it anymore," tears rolled down the broken anti-skill woman's face. "Did we really need to do that to Weaver?"
"You do realize what she was, right? She even ate your colleagues," Kakine stated.
"Yes…" she muttered, "a broken child who never got the chance to be loved." Silence fell.
Yomikawa was right. Weaver, as monstrous as she was, was indeed a child. One who had been deprived of love. Her mother created her, made her with the mind of a 12 year old. But never gave her the time or experience she needed. And didn't even watch over her.
In essence, she had just been thrust into a world she didn't know and had been expected to fight on her mother's behalf. A mother who had no idea she was even a real being and not just a creation of her imagination.
Yomikawa sighed. "So, after this I'm retiring," she said.
Misaka's heart grew even heavier. Even Yomikawa, Touma's PE teacher who had overcome operation handcuffs and pushed past it. Was giving up.
Kakine rolled his eyes. "You'd better not have said that because you plan on dying. Cause that sounded like a major death-flag." He gazed sternly into the woman's eyes.
A chuckle escaped her lips before Yomikawa coughed. "No, there's two kids I need to save, but once Index and Kamijou are safe," she smiled softly. "I'm going to retire. Besides, I got a couple of brats and an idiot chairman to take care of."
Kakine laughed a little and they continued heading to the ritual site in silence.
Most of them wouldn't make it in a few hours without medical attention. While normally this would be an issue as they couldn't get to the hospital. They had one resource they didn't normally have.
Magic.
Misaka still didn't quite fully understand it. However, she knew that one thing It could do was heal all sorts of injuries. But it wasn't a true replacement for proper hospital treatment. And Misaka wasn't too sure how well it'd do against Weaver's digestive fluids or enzymes.
She shivered, feeling her heart rate increase. Pain ripped through her body, her broken ribs screaming out in pain as the image of that dark, pulsating, fleshy throat flashed through her mind.
Misaka felt something trying to come up her throat, and that only made things worse. She had only been in Weaver's mouth and this is what it did to her. She couldn't even imagine how much worse it was for Kinuhata.
They soon came upon the dig site of the sargasso. A number of medical tents had been set up to deal with the injured; It appeared most of the teams had gathered here.
Agnese approached them with a concerned look. "What in the name of the Lord happened to you guys!?" she shouted pulling a communications talisman out. "Guys we got priority ones over here! Anything that's not life threatening or permanently damaging, drop it and get over here!"
Agnese guided them into one of the tents and laid Gunha on a bed. "Just what the hell did you guys fight?" she muttered.
Sitting Kuroko down, Uiharu crossed her arms. "Oh you know, just a bunch of aberrant abominations connected to cosmic horror!" she spat to the side.
Misaka grit her teeth as Saten laid her down, while a couple Amakusas and nuns entered. "We lost a number of Anti-Skill because of it," she managed to get out.
Agnese's eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "You… lost people? How!? None of the other teams lost a single member."
A grunt came from one of the nearby beds and Mugino sat up. "She's right, It doesn't make sense, and it contradicts all of Index's prior behaviors."
Shuratua nodded as she helped tend to Mugino's lighter injuries. "Yes, besides, Index doesn't want us dead because it'd upset Touma-kun," that was weird. Only Arisa called him Touma-kun, why would Shutaura call him that?
Tsuchimikado winced as he relaxed his arm. "Because some chick named Weaver undid their no-kill restriction," he grimaced.
Agnese looked baffled as her nuns set up a spell around Misaka. "If it was that easy to take over a magic god's spells then we wouldn't need this ritual!" she shouted. "I don't know who this Weaver is, but how did she take control of Index's spell?"
Tsuchimikado made a face, unsure, but before he could answer the temperature dropped. Ice and frost formed on the surfaces and a new voice spoke. "Because Index didn't want to put in any more effort than she had to."
Misaka felt her eyes widen in shock as Muireann walked in. The girl was clad in translucent blood-red armor which looked like dragon scales. Her hair glittered with an elaborate frozen cape draped over her body with a crystalline crown adorned her head.
Next to her was Black Annis, who was supporting the girl, looking much younger than Misaka remembered. Following behind them was Lessar, Galistic and Baobhan sith. Jeanna Thames and two others Misaka didn't recognize were supporting them.
Agnese clearly wanted to know why two of the fey they had sent back to England were here. But chose not to question it, "what does that mean?" she asked Muireann. Black Annis chuckled. "It means she just used a simple spell anyone could learn in order to control them." She laid Muireann down as she continued. "Had she put more effort into it. Then I, Beria would not have been able to break free of her spell," Beria revealed, speaking her name.
"Beria… as in Queen of Winter Beria?!" Agnese asked in shock. Tsuchimikado, Etzali and the other magic users held similar looks.
"Yes, Catholic. The very same," Beria stated. Misaka wasn't sure of the significance. But it was clear Beria held bad blood for the church.
Mugino sighed, "guess that explains it… Now hurry up! We don't exactly have time on our side." The Amakusas and Agnese forces picked up the pace and began casting healing spells.
As Misaka lay there, a warm feeling washed through her from the magic. She thought a bit about Weaver. There was one… small detail that kept nagging at Misaka about her. One really tiny detail.
'I think Mommy's been going to easy on you'
Yes.
Weaver referred to Index as her mother. Misaka felt her face heat up. If— If Index was Weaver's mother, then who was her father…?
Surely It couldn't be—
"Say, Misaka-san, if Index is Weaver's mom, does that make Touma her dad?" Saten asked, saying exactly what Mikoto was thinking, as she sat next to the girl in question.
"I WON'T ACCEPT IIIIIIIIIITTTTTTT!" Misaka instantly sat upright, before doubling over in agony. Her face reddened as she realized what she had just said, Saten looking slightly guilty.
"Ah… sorry," Saten muttered. "was trying to make a joke, lighten the mood you know? Boost morale a bit." She backed up a bit when Misaka glared.
"Well it was a horrible joke!" Misaka growled, causing Saten to gulp.
Shifting in her seat she shrugged. "Yeah, I should have been more sensitive. Especially since.. Well you like him and…" she went nervously silent after that.
Misaka felt her heart grow heavy and she looked away as the magicians finished healing her.
The absence of Touma was getting to her. She didn't know where he was. Only Index had any idea, and she wouldn't tell them. Locking him where only she could access. It made Misaka worry about what she would do with him.
Her thoughts were cut short as commotion was heard outside. "Hey! The Norway team and Accelerator have returned!" Tatemiya shouted.
Stepping out of the tent, Misaka saw Kanzaki, Stiyl, Ollerus, Fiamma, Birdway, Silvia, Brunhild, and Celt approach, all following Accelerator.
A few others exited the tents as the group entered the temporary camp. "Is everyone alright?" Accelerator asked, before his face became grim. "I guess not… I'll send word for a medical team to help with the load," he pulled a phone out and began making a call.
"Y-your Majesty! Please stay still! we haven't even reattached your trapezius!" Itsuwa was heard shouting something exceedingly concerning.
Elizard stumbled out of the tent using Excalibur to support herself. large portions of her flesh were missing. With a particularly massive chunk missing from her shoulder. "Did you get it?" she asked the Norway team.
Stiyl stepped forward with a box. Opening it, he pulled out a small, golden, ribbon-like thread.
Misaka felt her thoughts grind to a halt, that's it?
That was what their great sealing ritual hinged on!? Her legs grew shaky, they were doomed, there was no way that tiny thread could possibly hold Index.
Elizard narrowed her eyes slightly at it. "Why is it so thin?" she asked.
Yes please someone explain that! Misaka felt her mind screaming in despair.
"Because," Stiyl began, "Marian Slinginyer had a hand in its creation."
"WHAT!?" Elizard's head snapped up, her eyes were wide in shock. But oddly she didn't look hopeless, instead a look of awed disbelief was on her face. "Stiyl, are you positive that, Marian Slinginyer of GREMLIN helped in its creation?"
This time Kanzaki answered, "yes we're positive, no one could mistake her description," she bit her lip.
"Especially since she was accompanied by Mjolnir," Birdway grinned. "So, yes Marian, an honest to god deverger helped make it." Her face held a confidence that confused Misaka.
The magicians had all stopped. Itsuwa stood jaw dropped, a look of hope on her face.
Unable to take it, Misaka burst out in anger. "Can someone PLEASE explain? How are you not all despairing!? Whats so special about that dumb gold ribbon!?"
Ollerus snickered, raising an eyebrow, but instead of any of the magicians speaking.
"Misaka-san, did you not read the article on the binding of Fenrir I sent you?" Uiharu crossed her arms in disappointment.
Misaka fell silent a moment. "What does that have to do with the fact that Stiyl botched the job?" she asked.
Saten sighed, "He didn't botch the job, Misaka! Had you read the article you'd know this!" at Mikoto's confused Gaze Saten facepalmed. "He said a deverger forged that ribbon."
Uiharu nodded rapidly. "Yep! A Deverger aka, a norse dwarf, in norse mythology Gleipnir was forged by them," she looked up. "It was made with the footstep of a cat, the beard of a woman, the roots of a rock, the sineus of a bear, the breath of a fish and the spittle of a bird."
"And when complete, it looked like a thin gold ribbon," Saten finished.
Opening her mouth, Misaka froze, realization dawning on her.
Gleipnir was forged by Dwarves; the Norse word for the dwarves was Deverger.
Birdway had called Marian a Deverger, and Stiyl had said that she helped forge the ribbon.
Which meant.
"You're… kidding," Misaka felt her uncertainty being replaced by utter awe. "Your saying, that's not just a spiritual Item…"
Muireann beside her nodded. "Yes, it's a true Gleipnir, I can almost feel it from here."
Misaka's face lit up, hope filling her body, they may actually have a chance.
Placing Gleipnir back into the box, Stiyl closed it as Ollerus spoke. "Before we begin the final preparations, I should probably say this." He looked around with a stern gaze. "Even if we manage to seal Index, We'll need to tread very lightly from now on," Ollerus said as Stiyl handed the box to Agnese.
There were a number of confused looks cast around. What did he mean? If Index was sealed the threat would have been dealt with. The Board of Directors wouldn't have a reason to fire their nuke.
"What are you getting at Ollerus?" Muireann asked, narrowing her eyes.
The half-god put his hands behind him. "Because if we don't, Kamijou Touma may very well become our next enemy," he stated plainly. "He's already suffered immensely at the hands of magicians. And now, not only has he lost the foundation of his identity. But he's lost his understander as well."
Misaka shook her head, "Why would he? I'm sure if we explain what happened he-"
"How would you react if one of your sisters killed Kamijou Touma?" he asked her. Misaka froze as Ollerus continued. "How would you feel, knowing that the person you loved had been killed by a family member?"
"But-" Misaka began, but Ollerus wasn't done and interrupted again.
"Even if you explained it, you'd only make things worse," he glared at her. "The simple fact is Othinus was just that close to him. And an earnest apology to all the females here. But, you just can't replace her," he sighed. "In the end we may get rid of one monster, for it to be replaced by something far worse."
Silence fell for a minute, Misaka didn't believe it. "Bull… shit!" she hissed out.
"And why do you say that, Railgun?" Ollerus tilted his head.
"You're telling me, that magic god who was an international terrorist, really meant that much to him? Bullshit!, she destroyed the world, taking away everything he ever cared about. She caused the death of hundreds, back in Hawaii and Baggage city. And to top it all off. She tormented him, for who knows how long," she threw her hand to the side.
"How the hell, after all of that, would she end up his partner. or as you put it, Understander?" breathing hard, Misaka glared at Ollerus.
Ollerus gazed at her calmly, "because unlike all of us. Othinus saw past all of his achievements, and titles for who Touma really was. Just as he saw past all of her titles and crimes to the lonely god within. I don't expect a childish, middle schooler who just so happens to have a powerful ability to truly comprehend it."
"Ch-Childish!?" Misaka shouted indignantly. "I am not some brat with a stupid crush," her face red with rage from Ollerus's comment.
"Really? Because you certainly act like one," Ollerus pointed out. "You become embarrassed whenever you see Kamijou. You immediately attack him whenever you see him so much as talk to a girl you don't know. And when he becomes upset with you, you suddenly become flustered."
Misak's jaw flapped before she shook her head. "S-so? How does that have to do with how that terrorist was so close with that Idiot?" she wouldn't back down. She couldn't back down. Misaka wasn't willing to accept someone as monstrous as Othinus was that person for Touma.
Stiyl rolled his eyes and Accelerator snorted as Ollerus facepalmed. "Othinus and Kamijou, spent what was likely a Millennia alone together." he said exasperated. "Do you really think, after all of that time they wouldn't have gotten to know each other?"
Misaka fell silent, her jaw half open, slowly she closed her mouth. How could she respond? She could call Ollerus a liar, but why else would Touma fight the world for Othinus.
"My point, exactly," Ollerus looked around, "none of you girls have spent nearly the amount of time Othinus has, with Kamijou Touma. So, there is no way you could know him like she does, or like he knows her," he began to relax.
There was silence as everyone took in Ollerus's words. Muireann, despite her cold demeanor, seemed downcasted. Her head was angled downward and she bit her lip.
Birdway was deathly still, her eyes glancing to the side as she gritted her teeth. Lessar stood silently looking away nervously.
Kanzaki gulped, unable to speak as she stood there. Even Uiharu, Saten and Kuroko were silent.
"Um-" finally someone spoke, Itsuwa looked up with shaky determination. "E-even if that's so, we…we could try," she smiled, uncertainly.
Misaka looked up, a spark of confidence filling her. Yeah she could absolutely try, she could work to understand that Touma like Othinus did. Surely she-
"Really?" Ollerus asked, and his next words utterly shattered them. "No matter what you learned, you could accept every side of Touma. And even love him for it?" he asked, "you wouldn't even be the slightest bit disappointed in what you learned? If you found out he had a 'unique' fetish, would you be put off, disgusted even? Most likely so, but for Othinus she wouldn't even bat an eye. She'd accept it fully, without question or regret, just as he would for her. That's just how strong their bond was."
His words cut deep into Misaka and Itsuwa's core, because They had indeed both been disappointed by something they learned about Touma.
Itsuwa opened her mouth, "and your saying the same didn't apply to Othinus?" she asked.
Ollerus raised an eyebrow. "She was a god, she didn't have any expectations to begin with. How could she be disappointed? There was nothing for her to be disappointed by" he said, and Misaka felt her world begin to crumble.
She wouldn't admit it but… Misaka had been disappointed when she realized Touma really was just a level 0. She had assumed he had to have been a high-level esper with a unique ability. So, when she learned the truth, she felt disillusioned.
When she had learned that she wasn't the only person Touma saved. She had been upset that she wasn't special to him. Heck he hadn't even saved her cause he knew her. To him she was a random stranger who had showed up and attacked him for not knowing her name.
When she had heard Touma say he was scared as he was dying. She had felt let down by him. Like she had lost a reliable source of support. He wasn't some invincible hero with no fear. He wasn't some great warrior who could win any battle. He was just a kid who was trying to survive, so she could not refute Ollerus.
"Exactly," Ollerus crossed his arms. "None of you could accept him, or know him like Othinus. Not because he wouldn't do things you don't like, but because you wouldn't accept all of him due to them."
He gazed directly into Misaka's eyes, "would you be able to accept him and even be proud of him as he continues to save people if he was with you?" When Misaka went to open her mouth he interrupted. "Even if that person was a girl? One who had developed feelings for him for the same reason as you?"
Misaka shut her mouth and looked down, unable to answer. She didn't know how she'd react, or maybe she just wouldn't accept it.
"Othinus would've treated him the same way afterwards, she would've just counted it as her Understander's normal. Just as Kamijou would accept any misdeeds she would've done, he would see past it so long as she was still herself," Ollerus revealed.
Misaka's shoulders slumped and she bit her lip, shaking. She had nothing to retort, Ollerus was right, Mikoto would get upset. She'd worry about Touma whenever he vanished, and then get mad when he brought a girl he saved home.
Could she really look past him charging off every other day? Going off to god knows where for several days without warning. Before coming home with a stray he picked up along the way? Would she be able to treat him the same?
No, she'd be worried, worried he'd get hurt, worried he'd disappear. Worried he was unsatisfied with her, worried she wasn't good enough. She'd continue placing him on that pedestal she felt he so rightly deserved. Terrified of losing him to someone or something else. Just what was she doing with herself thinking she could replace Othinus?
A hand patted her on the back and she saw Saten smiling slightly. "H-hey, I'll still support you." She nervously chuckled, "Even if he doesn't feel the same about you."
Uiharu nodded. "We're going down with the ship!" she declared throwing a fist into the air.
"I'm not!" Kuroko coughed out as she stumbled forward. "I'll have my onee-sama before that ape can touch her!"
Misaka felt herself chuckle as the mood grew lighter. "Thanks guys, I guess we shouldn't worry about the future," she smiled. "Lets just save the present and smack sense into that silver sister," nods and shouts of approval echoed through the sargasso.
They were interrupted by a crackling sound, as a figure flickered into existence and fell to the ground. Kazakiri Hyouka looked up. Her fist clenched at her chest as she gasped though she did not need to breathe. Her hands shook as she fumbled adjusting her glasses.
"P…please! Hurry!" she cried out. "Please, stop Index!" tears fell down the AIM girl's face.
Accelerator looked shocked and knelt before her. "What happened?" he asked her.
Kazakiri opened her mouth, and spoke words that caused the entire sargasso to become cold.
"Index just ate Hozake Junko" she panted, "and it's killing me"
…
There was no sun.
There was no moon.
There weren't even any stars.
There was just a black void.
Lying within the darkness, hung in shackles. Kamijou Touma gazed listlessly, staring into the blackness before him. He felt cold, dead, and empty, he was lost and his thoughts were muddled. Heck, he was having trouble remembering his name. Flashes of images would pass through his mind, deaths long past in a world long forgotten.
He had once more returned to his own personal hells.
Silently, a pair of hands gently grasped his face, bringing his mind to the present. "Tou….ma,...Touma please say something", Index smiled softly tilting her head.
Touma didn't notice at the time but Index was floating upside down. He gazed at the cosmic purple in her eyes. Oddly enough he felt like he was looking into a galaxy with a blackhole as its center.
Touma wasn't sure what was happening. He was so worn out from trying to escape, that he hadn't gotten much rest. He couldn't help but feel like a prisoner who had been sentenced to be locked away for all of time.
It only took a few moments to realize that Index had gotten a bit closer to his face. She was close enough for him to realize that she had a blush on her face alongside a Victorious smile as if she were about to calm her biggest desire.
He could feel her hot breath as Index put her arm around him while still floating upside down. As she placed her lips against his. His eyes instantly shot up as he could feel her tongue inside his mouth. Touma could feel the movements of her tongue as she quietly moaned. He didn't know how much had passed as he continued to feel her tongue slip past his lips and rubbed against his own.
Index had finally unwrapped her arms around him and slowly rotated right side up or was it the world that had rotated? At this point it didn't really matter; it still had the same effect. After a few more moments Index had finally pulled herself away as she then licked her lips as if she were savoring the taste of her favorite dish.
"Touma...I don't know why you tried to escape. I gave you everything you wanted, and vowed to protect your world no matter the cost." She lifted his chin. "Let me show you that you don't have to worry about anything else. Let me show you what I'm willing to do just for you Touma~" Index said as she got closer.
"Obviously you didn't hear me the first time. When did I ever ask you for anything…" Touma responded weakly, bringing his head up to look at Index. Despite their situation she loved the look in his eyes she could tell that Touma was trying to find a way out. If anything It caused Index to love him even more.
"You didn't have to, oddly enough even though she's gone Othinus's feelings and thoughts remain and you know something? She thought the same. She felt like you were being wasted on a bunch of fools who caused their own dissatisfaction with the world. Fools who wouldn't know what to do with real power if given the opportunity, but you're different." Index held her cheeks giggling.
"You don't want some grand power, you never ask for anything in return except for their smile. You're like a warrior who fights for peace but hates the violence that it comes with. With a mindset like that, it shouldn't be all surprising that you got two magic gods who want to give you the world and herself as the prize." Said Index. A certain thought crossed her mind and she smirked.
She knew how stubborn Touma could be. Of course it was something she loved about him and even found it challenging. But she really wished he would let himself be fully immersed with her. She wanted him to release that inner beast she knew he had inside him. She was fully prepared to let him have her completely. Mind, body and soul she wanted to prove her devotion to him in every way possible.
"... doing this won't change things, Index. You may have hated and been jealous of Othinus. But at least she was able to feel regret for what she did" said Touma as the mere mention of his understander caused his heart to squeeze as if someone had shoved their hand inside his chest.
"Are you sure they won't?" she tilted her head. "Even If I showed you everything you can have?" Index said as she lifted her left foot, and gently put it on his chest. "Are you telling me my legs have no effect on you whatsoever? I can feel your heartbeat Touma~ just take a look. I'd love to release your hands so you get a better feel for it but this works as well. If not… I could show you so much more" said Index seductively, as she felt her burning desire rise like a raging fire.
Index then removed her foot from his chest and bent down a bit towards him. She grabbed his chin and raised his head a bit to the point where he was looking at her body. "If that's not enough, Touma. I can show you the full experience of a magic god's body~. I know you like them big but not too big just enough for your hands to enjoy them fully" said Index as she slightly changed her body a bit.
Touma was still so broken that he didn't even realize her change until she spoke again.
"Any desire, any fantasy, I can enact for you Touma~" Said Index as she wrapped her legs around his torso. She held onto his shoulders as she brought him closer to her body. He could feel her hot breath on his body as Index's silver hair slowly moved past his face, as if a gentle breeze had randomly blown past them.
"Even Othinus had been tempted to keep you to herself Touma~" Index revealed. "So~" she leaned herself forward, gently patting his spiky hair. "Let's start a real family, Touma~" she whispered into his ear.
Touma shivered slightly, but his eyes stayed defiant. "N..Not with you, Index… I-I could never do it with you" he spoke slowly, uncertainly. But he managed to get his words out despite how shattered he felt.
Index frowned, pouting. Touma still saw her as a little sister. "Touma, if you won't take the offer~" she giggled darkly.
Slowly Touma found himself looking up at her as she looked down at him. Had she grown? Or had he shrunk? Either way it did not matter. Nothing mattered anymore, not without Othinus, not when Index didn't need him to protect her.
"I may just treat myself~" the Great Devourer teased. Her hand closed around him in those shackles. Lifting him to her lips she gazed at him with a hand on her cheeks. The look in her eye was one of dark lust as she licked her lips.
Touma however merely gazed listlessly. How fitting, the girl who had a habit of biting him wanted to eat him. If he let her, would he see Othinus again?
Index's lips slowly opened as she brought Touma to her jaws. Her hot breath washed over his body as her mouth watered. Her wet tongue was pressed against his body and drawn across him as Index licked him.
The former nun turned lustful devourer's cheeks were flushed as saliva dripped from Touma's body. He stared directly into the abyss of her jaws as they began to close around him.
But, Index's eyes caught his dead gaze, causing her to pause.
It was clear her more aggressive approach to trying to seduce him wasn't working. So, she decided to lay off for now, maybe try something different next time.
Sighing Index lowered him, "It's no fun when you don't react, Touma~" she teased with a gentle smile. "How am I supposed to enjoy eating you if you don't squirm around a bit?"
Pouting, she placed him down and reverted to her normal state. He hadn't reacted to her teasing, to her body, her flirtation. He hadn't even reacted to her trying to scare him.
As much as she'd love to have him in her jaws and feel him squirm about. She would never actually eat him, that would defeat the purpose of protecting him.
Touma continued to gaze at her with those half aware eyes. "... why would I react?" he asked, and it hurt.
It felt like an icicle had pierced Index's very soul. Touma felt as if there was no point in reacting to her advances in any meaningful way. He only defied her because he felt it was all he had left to define him.
Tears formed in the gods eyes and she sniffed, "A…Alright Touma… J-just call me back if you changed your mind". All the enjoyment from earlier was gone as depression replaced it.
As she faded, Touma sighed, his heart sinking once more.
He had figured it out a while ago, or more accurately he had stopped denying the truth.
Othinus was dead, Index had eaten her in order to become a magic god. Which meant he had lost the most important thing to him. And there was no one to direct his anger to, because the person who had killed Othinus was someone he saw as family.
What was he supposed to do? without Othinus he was lost. She was his beacon, his light in the dark that kept him on track. With her gone he was stumbling around with nothing to anchor him to humanity.
That scared Kamijou Touma. Without Othinus, he had nothing left to lose. And thus nothing left to hold onto.
Maybe he should just end it. After all, what was there left for him to fight for. Index no longer needed him to protect her. And Othinus had been devoured by the very girl he had become Kamijou Touma for.
His head hung as he contemplated biting his tongue out.
'You really are patheticaren't you, you fucking snivling coward. What happened to the fucking knight in sky blue armor who stabbed me with a knife where's that bastard!? When are you gonna grow a pair and fucking step up you shitty excuse for Kamijou Touma? Is this who he fucking traded his life for!? The bitch version?' a mocking and familiar voice said. 'The other you wouldn't take no shits from this wannabe child god'
The voice sent waves of disgust through Touma as he shuddered slightly. "...shut the fuck up," he muttered, but the bastard didn't listen.
'Nah in fact! I bet he'd have slapped that bitches ass and shattered her illusions by now! You really gonna let her treat you like her pet? Next time she comes here I don't think you'll get a say in how she's gonna fuck you! Don't even get me started on the very clear fetish she's developed!'
Kamijou no Touma began ranting. 'I mean, don't get me wrong I'm all for that piece of ass, but I am not into vore, I'm not Aogami. And I'm not judging tastes, but I'm not sure you're into that kind of play. I mean maybe we should've confirmed that with Othinus before her demise but you get the point'
"Just what do you expect me to do!?" Touma snarled out. "Look where she has me! I'm locked up and shackled in a reality that's literally inside her! How am I meant to stop her? How am I meant to escape?"
An exasperated groan came from the pink and green bastard, 'So, what? you just gonna let her use you as a fucking dildo or whatever she's got planned in that perverted mind of hers? Cause I can't say she wouldn't do that. you just gonna roll over and heel like a good puppy? Hm?' Kamijou no Touma sneered.
"She's a literal god you imposter bastard! What the hell is a normal highschool boy like myself meant to do against her!?" Touma shouted as he clenched his fists staring down at the black ground.
'Really? You're still going to consider yourself a normal high school boy. Get off your high horse you disillusioned piece of shit. After everything you've seen and done you're really going to hang there thinking you're still normal'. Kamijou no Touma said, exasperated.
'Stiyl Magnus, Aureolus Izzard, Accelerator, Sherry Cromwell, Agnese and her forces. And that was just the first fucking month! Then there was the daihaseisai with Misaka, Vento of the front and Avigonia. The British Halloween, World war three! Hawaii, Baggage City! Fucking the end of the literal universe as you know it!' The bastard began listing off all the things Touma had faced in the last few months.
Touma tugged on his chains, trying to cover his ears despite knowing it was useless. Kamijou no Touma was in his head, he couldn't tune him out.
'Kamisato and his faction, the elements, Aliester fucking Crowely! Motherfucking Great Demon Coronzon! Anna Sprengel! Alice Anotherbible! You are not normal and you never were SO JUST ACCEPT IT!' Kamijou no Touma yelled in his mind.
"Do you think," Touma hissed through gritted teeth. "THAT I DON'T KNOW THAT ALREADY!" he shouted into the void, panting.
'THEN WHY THE ACTUAL HELL DO YOU KEEP INSISTING YOUR A NORMAL HIGHS CHOOL BOY YOU SNIVLING SHITTY FUCKING COWARD!?' Kamijou no Touma shouted, causing him to fall silent.
A few moments passed before Touma spoke quietly. "Because… I want to be normal" he said, tears forming in his eyes. "I want to be normal" he repeated, "I don't want power, money, admiration." His voice slowly rose as he began to pour his heart out to the pink and green bastard in his mind. "I don't want to be a king, a politician, a president, I don't even want to be a celebrity!"
Touma's cries echoed out into the void around him as he began to shout, "I don't want to be a level five, a magic god, to reach SYSTEM or whatever, to be the sheath and scorer, to be the main character."
A breath, "I don't want people to look at me in awe, in fear, in longing." He shook as he continued pouring his heart out to the green and pink bastard.
Tears fell down his face as his voice hitched every now and again. "I don't want people to see me as a hero, a Villain, a god, a demon!" Touma looked to the black sky, his eyes red and sore. "I don't want people to think I'm unapproachable, untouchable. I don't want to be viewed as above anyone, below anyone, as different from everyone." He tugged on his chains.
"I don't want to be special!" He took a deep breath, "I just want to be normal!" he shouted before falling limp.
His shouts became sobs and the sobs became wimpers. "I… I just want to be normal"
"I want to live normal. A normal life, with friends and family. Where I can wake up, make breakfast and argue with Index. Go to school and get teased by my friends before Komoe walks in and scolds us. Return home and be greeted by Index and Othinus when I enter the door. Cook dinner and argue with Othinus, before they go to bed with a smile on their faces."
Silence hung in the air as Touma waited for the Purifier's response.
'So then, how are you going to get it back?' Kamijou no Touma asked sternly.
"Wha-" Touma began before the bastard interrupted again.
'How are you, Kamijou Touma going to get back that normal life Hm? Sure, Othinus is gone. But you can still fucking make sure Index can at least have a god damn fucking chance to return to a normal fucking life!' Kamijou no Touma shouted at Touma. 'So, how the fuck are you going to fucking save her you little shit!'
Touma bit his lip in silence for what felt like hours before his mouth finally opened.
"Help me," he stated simply
Kamijou no Touma scoffed 'What? You think I'm just gonna roll over and say 'yes daddy' just because you ask for my help? You'll have to try fucking harder than that you dumbass.'
Touma snarled, "And you think I'm gonna fucking beg you for help like a little bitch?" he asked.
'Well, let's look at your situation. You're chained up, unable to escape with a very clearly mentally unstable Index. Who is undoubtedly going to change her mind in the next few minutes and decide to officially make you the Tou-Man. Before then possibly just maybe eat you in a non sexual kind of sense. And I get to sit back and watch as it happens, as without my help. You're up a creek without a paddle. Sooo, yeah I do want you to beg me to help you.' Kamijou no Touma replied smugly.
"You do realize If she does eat me, you die too right?" Touma sneered.
'true, but you'll go first so I get to enjoy the show…' Kamijou Touma trailed off as if he just realized something. '...shit I still die don't I?' he muttered contemplating what Touma just said.
Silence
And then
chuckle, a chuckle which became a snicker, which became laughter as Kamijou no Touma roared. "AHAHAHAHAAAAHHHAHAHA You got me there you crazy son of a bitch! Alright! Sir knight in shining armor I'll let you fucking use me." He then became serious. "But if you fuck up, I'm gonna fucking hijack that body of yours and show you how it's done. And after I clean up your dumb mess. I'm never helping you again," he promised.
Touma closed his eyes. "Like I'll let that happen you shitty pink and green imposter!" clenching his fist the sound of crackling plastic was heard. Sky blue and lemon yellow fibers emerged from shocking pink and emerald green cracks on his right hand.
Two hearts coincided as the sound of glass shattering became a roar and the chains burst.
Opening his eyes, Touma's right sclera flashed red and he grinned.
"So… let's, Do… It… Right!"
A/N: This chap was more difficult to write, I had to figure out how to explain the whole Understander argument between Ollerus and Misaka without one, seeming too bias and two. While still expressing why Othinus and Touma's situation was so unique in a way that made sense.
The part after this with it's… steamy tones was thanks to Dragonrails. Dude knows his smut/lemons, It was meant to balance the playfully childish nature of Index. And the Assertive and forward nature of Othinus but also display the between that was both.
Now that last bit… I hope you were all excited to see KnT return. I already hinted and foreshadowed his return. And here he is in all his playboy bastard glory. That had back and fourth between me and Rails and then Benfang who you might know as a former Beta of Darkbetrayer's. A huge thanks to them for helping me with this chapter. Especially the 'I want to be Normal' Speech by Touma.
Now then I've made a pole on my profile for a Omake of 'noncanon' Index, Touma, and Weaver shenanigans. While not voting won't necessarily stop me from writing it, It will mean I likely won't do it for a while unless I just end up feeling like it.
Well, later then.
