Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Medical Mercy. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own Bleach, Tite Kubo and a few others do.
Gaidon was quite hopeful about what Retsu was up to. He knew something was going on. He hummed, watching as the woman walked by.
"Good morning, captain," Gaidon stated, brushing off his uniform as he did so. "I did follow your orders if you'd like confirmation on that," Gaidon added as he hummed to himself.
"I'm only concerned about your safety," Retsu stated to which he nodded to himself. "There's plenty of work I need to do, I'm groin to assume you've done some of it already?" Retsu questioned to which he nodded.
He knew for a fact that there was quite a lot of work she wanted to do. It made sense for him to constantly deal with it. Retsu hummed to himself he could only think about it when it came down to it. Retsu was quite hopeful that he could stop and allow himself a break at the moment.
"Do you have my paperwork in my room?" Retsu questioned as she paused to think about her research. "I hope they didn't send any more reapers out into the field," Retsu stated as she paused to think about how best to handle this.
"I doubt they'd be foolish enough to do that, Captain Unohana," Gaidon stated as he sat at his desk, curious as to what to do next. "They do rely on you to handle the majority of research," Gaidon added as he hummed and nodded while he shook his head.
Retsu knew Gaidon was quite willing to do his work. There was plenty of research he handled. However? There was a lot on their plate as a research division, they couldn't be blamed when it comes down to it.
"There will be more work for us to do, Gaidon, there always is," Retsu said to which she got a nod. "How bad are things, though?" Retsu questioned as her soldier turned towards her.
"How exactly do you mean?" Gaidon questioned while he shook his head. "Oh, you mean the research, there was a lot of data to handle. I left it in your office as you told me to do. I didn't want to disturb your wishes." Gaidon added as he leaned back in his chair.
Retsu nodded and turned to go handle the data he had complied. She knew there was plenty of work he wanted to do. Retsu could only plead for her soldier to not do this, there were better uses of his time at the moment. The sooner she thought about it? The sooner she could put her mind at ease. However? she couldn't blame her friend, he did enjoy helping everyone and anyone he could. There was just too much work on their plate for him to back down.
"Sometimes I think she doesn't understand how I try to make sure this is done," Gaidon said before rubbing at his temples. "The more I think about it? the more I question how there's work piling up. She works hard enough for the majority when it comes down to it." Gaidon stated as he paused.
Retsu was quite curious, she constantly needed to look down when it comes down to it. This virus stumped her, there was plenty of work when it came down to it. He didn't know how she handled being swapped back and forth. They were just one group of soldiers within the organization, they couldn't handle it.
"How do you handle so much work? Gaidon asked before sighing as he leaned back in his seat. "Never mind. I have to make sure the paperwork is in order." Gaidon stated, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"Gaidon? I might need you soon." Retsu questioned as she turned to look over her shoulder. "These notes? There's something weird about it, you didn't do them by yourself, did you?" Retsu asked to which he shook his head.
"No, the first few I simply rewrote their notes when it came down to it? They did the majority of the writing." Gaidon stated as he cracked his fingers and then hummed to himself.
Retsu looked at her friend who was entirely focused on the work that he'd been starting. She knew that her friend was a nice person who was simply handling his work.
"How are you holding up right now?" Retsu asked as Gaidon turned towards the woman. "I know you enjoy being up rather late rather than properly sleeping. I don't understand why, however." Retsu added while Gaidon leaned back in his chair as he looked at his friend.
"There are more important things than my sleep at the moment, captain," Gaidon said while he cleared his throat. "You also know more about this sickness than me. I didn't spend all night studying the disease. If I did? You'd know considering you are in charge of the medical divisions." Gaidon stated as he sighed.
Retsu looked over the notes the night staff had complied. The entire division was entirely ready to handle this. She was often surprised there were members of the staff staying overtime to handle this disease.
"This sickness is hollow in origin, correct?" Retsu asked to which her friend nodded. "Have you narrowed down how it infects the body?" Retsu questioned while her friend nodded to herself.
He was entirely happy when it came down to it. Gaidon was annoyed by the lack of progress when he focused on it. He started to think if this was as bad as it looked. Gaidon didn't want to think that how this was entirely dangerous.
"Do you want the files that I had on this before I went to bed?" Gaidon asked while he started to look around his desk. "I didn't think about when it got worse. It's advancing at a rate that makes it almost impossible to destroy or find a weakness too." Gaidon added and started to get annoyed.
Retsu put a hand on his shoulder which made the reaper look up at her. She was surprised by the amount of annoyance within the warrior which she silently understood at the end of the day. The stress of their work? The importance of it was like a hammer constantly smashing them into the ground over and over.
If it was so easy to be a doctor for their type of people? They'd be all medics for the organization which they weren't.
"Are you sure your ok?" Retsu asked to which there was a nod as she leaned back in her chair. "Don't push yourself too much. I need all the reapers I can to handle this. I don't know how bad it will be before it is all done and over with at the time. It's sad, isn't it? I'm entirely focused on handling this properly." Retsu added before she frowned.
Gaidon sighed to himself while he prepared for a lecture from the woman. He didn't regret helping her when it came to his skills. He was not going to lay down and watch people die on his watch. He was not the type of warrior to lay down and die.
'She's always acting like I can't do anything to help and it ticks me off. I can help, all of us can help.' Gaidon thought before he realized WHY she didn't want him to keep this type of behavior was bad.
If one of them was worn down or not allowed to honestly do their work? They'd be worthless and another burden for the division when it came to their duties. Gaidon also knew he had to perform important paperwork.
"I'm pretty sure if I lied? You'd notice it better than anyone." Gaidon stated while he sighed. "I promise I didn't push myself. I don't want to be another burden for the group to deal with more than anything. This sickness seems to be not affecting hollows if that helps explain a lot." Gaidon added while he frowned to himself.
Retsu said nothing while he frowned to herself. She was well aware of the fact that there were plenty of soldiers who wanted to help. They honored her with their help and their duty to her was respected by her when it came down to it. Retsu was a good captain and she didn't want them to worry about pleasing their captain when it came down to it. There was more work for them to do, but what happened if they were taken down and placed out of commission? They'd be unable to help anyone or anything.
"Hmm." He said while he leaned in his chair with interest in how this ended as of now.
There were far too few soldiers when it came down to it. He had seen many of their kind that had been dealt and it annoyed him to no damned end that his job wasn't able to aid them properly.
He honestly seemed almost loathing of himself since this. Why little was done to soothe their suffering was honestly beyond him. He was saddened by this and little was done to ease it.
Retsu seemed to glance at him with an interest that bothered him. it wasn't simply enough that he was laid low in this manner. He was more or less annoyed by the fact that she had bothered to stop him from helping. He had so much to do and he was stopped from his duty to the rest of his friends. People who needed this as much as he needed to aid them in combat. He wasn't one to simply rest and allow himself to be laid low in this manner.
He leaned in his chair and questioned what best to do at the time. The sooner this ended meant the sooner he could handle this job properly. He was honestly too prepared for it but worried far too much for his good. He wanted nothing more than to question what the captain had planned to do as of the second. Today was honestly prepared for more details on his plate. This was honestly beyond the pale as of now to him.
"If it what Captain Unohana stated and wants." He said while he rolled his ideas. "Still? We can't just sit and wait for reapers to drop dead to move onward with the research. We need to handle this more properly." Gaidon stated before he sighed to himself.
Still? This would not stand. The sooner the plague was stopped, the sooner they wouldn't need to worry about people. She had a lot more as of the second. He had a lot more on the plans while she seemed to be interested while she pondered what to do. He was honestly more prepared to handle more sorts of work.
Yet if she was honestly prepared when it came down to it. She had been more to do when it came down to it. Raidon was many things, but she was still pressing him to the limits of her ability. Retsu seemed to be a lot cooler-headed than he, yet it was honestly clear both wanted the same thing. They had work to do.
Gaidon sighed to herself before he seemed to question what to do next. There was more on her plate than he as of the second. Still? It wasn't as if he hadn't attempted to handle work properly. There was far too limited a task on his plate for him to handle by himself, nor did he wish to handle it by himself. If she was willing to help? It'd be more interesting for him.
Yet here he was trapped in his seat with the captain trying hard not to bother him with tasks that were his job.
The few tasks that he was assigned weren't going to help. This was a lot more proper when it comes down to it. He was going to rip himself apart at this rate. There were a few more times that he had a lot more on his mind than this and he guessed he could understand what to do next. There were a few more plans when he seemed to be happy at the time.
