The next day Uncle Vernon shuts Harry in his room, locking his door and putting bars on his window. "You're never going back to that bloody school. You're never going to see those freaky friends of yours again, never!"
Nightfall came once again, Harry was stuck all day in his room, with only having access to the bathroom and the shower three times during the day, for 10 minutes before being locked up again. With no access to food or water.
As Harry was asleep. The doorbell rang downstairs. He got confused looking at the time as he puts his glasses on. Hearing Uncle Vernon opening his bedroom, wondering who could be at his door at this time of night.
"Who are you?" Vernon says downstairs, "are you one of his freaky teachers?"
Harry gets up, listening at his door, 'It's one of my teachers?" hearing footsteps coming upstairs.
"How dare you just enter someone else's home!" Vernon shouts at who ever came into the house.
There was a sudden rattle at his door, Harry moved away as it was opened. Seeing a dark figure in his room, "Professor Snape?" Harry gaped at this, "what are doing here?"
"Dumbledore asked me to get you," Snape said through his clenched teeth, "get your things," he looked around the room, realizing how Harry has been living, looking over at Lily's sister, giving her a death glare. Petunia gulped, remembering him.
"He will not be going; he is going to stay right here!" Vernon says, pointing his finger at the floor.
Snape turns to the husband of Petunia's, getting his wand, pointing it at his face, "What was that? I could not quite hear you," he hissed. Turning back to Harry, "what you waiting for Potter?"
Harry nodded, getting his trunk ready as his teacher dealt with the Dursley's. Dudley was inside Petunia's arms, frightened by the dark wizard. More so, than Hagrid. Snape walked over to Harry.
"What are you doing here Severus?" Petunia said, "thought we got rid of you, after Lily died."
Harry gaped at his aunt, peering over at his teacher. Snape blinked his pain away, looking at Petunia, "You are sadly mistaken, if you think…" Snape looked over at Potter, "continue packing," Harry nodded, doing as he was told. His teacher looked back over at his aunt, "we will take it from here, you and your husband, get out of my sight," his eyes grew dark, the air getting colder.
Harry put a hand on Snape, to calm him down, "You best go Aunt Petunia?" he suggested.
"Be out of here in an hour," she said, walking away, "else I will call the police on your freak over there."
Harry nodded, closing his bedroom door, turning to Snape. He watched as the wizard checked his figure out, "I see you developed puberty early," black orbs went to green.
Harry looked down at himself, embarrassed at his teacher mentioning how his preteen body is developing. He cleared his throat, continuing to pack his things.
Getting his belongings downstairs along with Hedwig; Harry took one last look around the Dursley's house before leaving them behind for the year. Snape followed right behind him, closing the front door.
They set out into the light filled streets. Snape was furious with Petunia. 'How dare she do this to Lily's child!'
Harry thought of what to stay, it was to quiet among them. "So, professor…how was your summer?" he decided to start with that.
Snape looked over at his student, "It was quiet. Nothing much to tell."
Harry remembered the letters his professor send him. They were mostly about what potions he was brewing, ingredients on which he is using and to remember them heading back to Hogwarts. 'He didn't really talk about himself,' Harry eyed him, "Aunt Petunia does not like you, does she?" he decided to try a different subject.
Snape said a spell for Hedwig, that way Potter didn't have to drag her with him. The bird disappeared, "Sent her to the destination you are heading to," he explained, "to answer your question, no, although I am not much fond of her either." That wasn't the answer Harry was looking for. "In fact, I despise her. Always have," now that was more like it.
"Because of my mom?" Snape looked at the ground, giving a slight nod. "So, Dumbledore asked you to come get me?"
His professor looked over at him, "He did. Why was your window bared?"
"Oh, um that happened because of a certain household elf who showed up in my bedroom. Warning me about some plot at Hogwarts and to not come back this year. So, he tried getting me in trouble for me not to return."
"Ah, so that is how it is," 'A plot?' Snape will investigate that, when he gets back to Hogwarts. "House elf?"
Harry nodded, "Yeah, named Dobby," Snape gaped at that, "you know him?"
Snape left that question for another time, right now it is time to bring Harry to Hogwarts bringing him over to a photo booth. Instructing his student to hold onto him. Harry obeyed, feeling a flush creeping over his cheeks as gripped his teacher's arm. Being instructed to hold on tight. As he picks up the phone, dialing the numbers. Harry gapped at this as the photobooth lifted in the air. Snape eyed Potter, seeing his gaping face at how they were, looking over the buildings, he sneered at that, feeling amused. "Won't anybody see us, up here?" Harry wondered, looking over at his professor.
"No, since it is the middle of the night." Snape leaned against the window; arms crossed.
Harry walked over, giving him a hug, which made his professor gasp in surprise, 'Missed this scent of his.' He lets go of him, looking up at Snape, "How you been sir? You haven't talked much about yourself this Summer."
Snape turned over to the window, "It has been...challenging, after you guys left, we had to clean up the basement."
'Isn't that Filches job?' Harry wondered to himself. It was quite a mess down there, maybe he needed extra hands.
Around 1:00 am- They arrived at their destination. Getting out of the photobooth near the castle, they walked over to the front door. Harry was about to walk over to the stairs, when he turned to Snape, "thank you for bringing me, sir, would you care to join me in the common room?" Snape looked over at him, surprised. Harry scratched the back of his neck, "I understand if you have other things to do though." Harry looked at the ground, not wanting to be alone up there, knowing that no one, but him is there.
"I suppose so."
Harry was shocked at his reply, ushering him over to the stairs, walking up with his teacher, "It is different without students around," Snape agreed with that, "am I only one here?"
"No, but you are the only one in the Gryffindor section, there other students here who also have hardships at home."
Harry looked down at the steps, "I don't count that place as my home, in fact I count this place as one," Snape noticed how skinny Harry was, 'Are they starving him?' he also noticed how chapped his lips were. 'Perhaps denying access to water?'
"Maybe we should go back down and get you something to eat?" Harry was all right with that, even when it past midnight, "for this once we can eat in my office." His student was surprised about that, touched that Snape wanted to eat dinner with him. Harry no complains about that.
Harry waited in Snape's office, while he went to fetch the food. Ordering it from the main kitchen. Harry wanted pasta, with tomato sauce and shredded white cheese. While his teacher ordered some salmon with garlic and lemon. On the side they both had some steamed broccoli.
Snape was amused at how fast Harry was eating, "You know there is no need to rush," his student nodded as he watches his professor eat elegantly. Harry looked at his plate, he was starving, Not being able to eat for a day.
"Forgive me sir, but I can't eat slow today," he realized something, he is eating dinner with Snape, alone with no one else there, he should cherish that, "you are right sir," trying to slow his eating down, "I will slow down." He peered over at his plate, "How is your fish?"
"Quite delightful."
"Thank you for doing this for me," Harry said softly, "guess you were concerned about my well-being?"
Snape waited till he swallowed his food, to answer, cupping his mouth as he chewed, "I was concerned for your mother, knowing what she would say."
'Still into my mother huh?' he pushed his food away, getting up, going over to Snape. His professor watches his student standing beside him, 'I want him to only look at me, to see me, think of me.' "Last year, I made a deal with you, on forgetting about my mother, do you remember that?"
Snape finished his plate, "How can I not remember that?" putting the plates on his desk, to clean up later, turning back to Harry.
"Well, I will make another deal with you, this year I will help you forget about her completely," he walked up to Snape, giving him a hug, "I am sorry you have been hurting all these years because of her," he let go, his professor looked down at the floor, "why don't we start while school is still out?"
Snape brought the dishes back to the kitchen, before heading up to the Gryffindor common room with his student. 'Wonder what he has in my mind on helping me out?' Harry said the password, the fat lady was surprised to see Severus there. The last time he been there was last year, and before that with Lily. When they got into the common area, Harry asked Snape to sit on one of the sofas. Severus felt awkward being here, remembering this fireplace being there since Lily and Severus had spend time together here, well when Snape was able sneak in that is. Harry noticed his easiness, as he sat on the same sofa, Lily and him sat on, "Something wrong professor?"
Snape kept his eyes at the fire, "Your mother and I spend some time here," Harry gaped at that, going over to him, sitting down beside his teacher. Leaning his head on his shoulder, "Will a distraction help you out?" he looked up at Harry, "here, let us try it sir. Thank you for saving me back there," his student lets go, "They bared my window and locked my bedroom door, all because an elf made a cake fall on top of my uncle's boss."
Snape was surprised by that, imaginating a cake falling on someone, "So you said a house elf named Dobby came to see you?"
"Yes, it was quite annoying since he was making a ruckus. And then in the end telling me not go to Hogwarts."
"Did he say why you shouldn't go?"
Harry shrugged, shaking his head, "I know he took my friends' letters that were send over to me this summer, except yours, since you found another way to send them. He twas hoping that if I thought my friends haven't been writing to me, I wouldn't come back to school," he leaned back, snorting at that, "He did say that there would be a terrible plot happening here," he looked back at a worried Snape, "are you worried now?"
Snape got up from the sofa, "I probably should head back to my chambers."
Harry inwardly pouted at this wanting him to stay a bit longer, "Alright then, sir have a good night, thank you for dinner, you saved me there," he gets up himself, walking his teacher over to the door, opening it for him.
"Tomorrow, we go shopping at Diagon Ally for your textbook," he says before leaving. Harry watches him walk downstairs. Before shutting the door, sliding down against the wood, feeling grateful on being rescued. If he sees that blasted elf again, he will make sure to thank him too. He thought of something, 'How does Snape know to get me?' perhaps Dumbledore was worried about him, but, if he was worried, then he would have gotten him instead or he would have had Hagrid get Harry once again, he didn't think Dumbledore would call on Snape. He gets up realizing, 'Don't tell me, he got me on his own accord?' He did tell his potion master about his home life, getting denied on food and at times even water. Constantly getting locked in his room. He snorted, 'Snape wouldn't have done that, would he?' he turned to the door about to reach the doorknob, then remembered it was past midnight, he looked over at the clock. Turning to his corridors instead
