Harry felt strange being in this room, by himself. Other than Hedwig being there, letting her out of the cage, opening the window, giving some freedom after being inside her cage for most of the summer. He watches as she flies out of the castle, to the sky, disappearing in the distance. Harry keeps the window open just in case she wants to come back. He looked around at the boys' room, now he is completely alone in there, sighing at that, sitting on his bed. Silence meeting him, 'Wonder if this is how Snape feels, being alone in his chamber?' Least he wasn't with the Dursley's anymore. He flopped on his bed, looking at the ceiling. Getting up, slipping his slippers on that he took out of his trunk. Going downstairs. Deciding to head over to the great halls. Opening the big doors, sitting at his table. Looking around, then the front. He walked up to the staff tables, going over to the seat that Snape usually sits at, feeling the seat. Realizes what he is doing he freezes, getting away from the staff table. Heading back out of the great hall doors. Peering over at the stairs, not wanting to go back up, turning to the chambers.

Snape told him in 1st year not to come down here, but it is still break for him for a couple more days. Tomorrow was also his birthday. He knocked at his professor's door.

A few minutes of waiting, the door opened. Snape's head peeked out. Surprised to see Harry standing there, "Potter? What are doing here?" opening his door more.

Harry looked over at his night clothes, regretting on waking his professor up it seems, looking back over at his face, "Sorry to wake you sir," he started walking away.

"Potter, tell me why you woke me up or you will regret it in the morning," he rubs his temple.

Harry looked over, "I am just...not used to being alone up there."

"And you telling me this because?" he wanted his student to get to the point, so he can go back to sleep.

"I don't want to sleep by myself up there," he points to the ceiling.

Snape sighed, looking over at the hallway paintings, glad that they were asleep, "Oh cry me a river Potter, you think you have it hard? Just because your blasted friends aren't there? Well rest assured, they will be back in a couple days."

Harry looked down at the ground, "Well then, I will stay in the great hall till tomorrow, good night, sir."

"You should just go back to your own bed, Potter. That's an order, unless you want to get points deducted before school even starts?"

Harry snorts at that, "Do what you want Professor, I am still going to the great halls."

"Are you just a kid?" Snape got fed up with this.

Harry points at himself, that he is still a kid, no matter how mature he got, at times he still wants to feel spoiled by someone. 'Isn't that what it supposed be like for a kid?' not knowing anything about that stuff. All he wants is being loved by someone, is that too much to ask. He heard a sigh from his professor, 'First time I heard him sigh like that.' His teacher opened his door further.

"Fine, go ahead and stay here till school starts," Harry gaped at this, not thinking his professor would do this for him. 'Maybe secretly he wants some company too?' Snape watched his student head inside his chamber. He told Potter to sit on the sofa and move from that spot as he got out a blanket and pillow for him. Letting him have the sofa, which pulls out as a futon. His teacher was too tired to do anything else. Harry wished him a goodnight as he went back into his bedroom.

Harry was comfortable now, going right to sleep with a smile.
