I don't own Naruto or any of the characters. Kishimoto-san does. If he gave me the Naruto franchise, THEN I'D OWN NARUTO!

C is for Caveat
Hinata didn't want to be here. She hated that she had to have class with him, the boy who took her favorite scarf. The amount of trouble she got in for walking off and losing her precious scarf couldn't possibly compare to the trouble she'd be facing in the public school system. For so long she'd been in private school surrounded by only girls who were gifted just like her. She wasn't singled out. She wasn't made fun of. And she had many, many friends. Hinata noticed that practically nobody here at the Leaf Academy wanted to be her friend. Her father hadn't forced the idea on her. He merely suggested it, but Hinata couldn't see anything wrong with public school. She was also afraid of how he would react if she complained. And so, the weeks went on with her eating lunch alone, facing Naruto and his entourage alone, and being alone even as she walked home. But Hinata didn't mind too much. Making new friends was hard, she reminded herself. She was the new girl, and the other students were to be cautious of any caveat signs that she may possess. It would take time for them to get to know her, was all.
That's what kept her spirits high.
i know the tags on this story is romance/drama but these beginning chapters can get angsty real quick. this chapter is short, the shortest i have written so dont expect this word count too often.
background facts;
the alternating perspectives allow the reader to understand this world im trying to build and the characters im trying to create. things get complicated in my AU (partly because being young and growing up is a slippery slope in and of itself) and i want the reader to not only understand these personalities im building, but to relate and see themselves in them as well. i try to steer clear of OOC attributes and base things on both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden actions/beliefs/demeanors.
much love,,
