I don't own Naruto or any of the characters. Kishimoto-san does. If he gave me the Naruto franchise, THEN I'D OWN NARUTO!

The Alphabet with NaruHina!

I is for Incensed

As the days of elementary childhood went on, Hinata grew closer and closer to Mitsuko. There was never a day they were never together or at one another's homes. Hinata's father approved of the friendship very much, so much so he frequently invited Mitsuko's father over for dinner. The adults also discussed the same things. Hinata wasn't one to pry but she made a habit to keep a note of the conversations. Mitsuko's mother was apparently the director of the Federal Investigation Agency in Konoha. Mitsuko explained her job as the "super duper" principal of a school. Her mother was around when she could be but according to Mitsuko, she hardly ever was.

Hinata also once heard that the Uzumaki's were under investigation. Naruto's father, the mayor, apparently got involved with a yakuza group of some sort. It made Hinata feel bad for poor Naruto who had no choice but to go home to that environment. But who was she to judge? She hardly knew the full story nor what the yakuza truly were. Hiashi only told her to stay away from people who looked bad because they might be yakuza.

Naruto's harassment grew less and less. When he got the chance he was able to stir up trouble but it was mostly petty trivial things rather than his thought out plans of mortification. Kiba had been hanging around Mitsuko and her for awhile as well. It was odd for the Hyūga to be around one of her usual tormentors so casually. She could sense the tension from Kiba's male friends whenever they were playing during break and such. Hinata wasn't all that scared though. Mitsuko was now her best friend. She planned on having her back through anything.

It was after school on a Friday. Kiba and Hinata were making their way back to the classroom to meet with Mitsuko when they heard her shouts down the hall. "Oh no." Kiba utters and bounds across the hall with Hinata at his heels. There before them was Mitsuko struggling with Naruto over the potted sunflower that she had recently gifted to Iruka-sensei.

"Let..it..go freak!" Naruto grunts.

"No! I won't let you break Sensei's gift you bully!" Mitsuko bites at his fingers. Naruto's friends decide to back him and manage to pry her fingers off the precious pot. Naruto placed the pot near the edge of the window, fully prepared to push it over the edge.

"HEY!" Kiba shouts over the conundrum. "What are you guys doing?"

"Ha! Look at the Freak Lover defending his freak girlfriend!" Sasuke jeers. The boy crew laugh and taunt a blushing Kiba but he wouldn't back down.

"Leave Mitsuko alone. And give back Iruka-sensei's plant!" He bucks back.

"Or what?" Naruto challenged.

"Or we'll tell!" Hinata blurts with the courage of having friends on her side.

"Oh? You'll tell on me, Dead Eyes?" Sasuke asks in mock innocence. He circles her as though she were prey. Without warning, he pushed Hinata towards the windowsill. Naruto jumps out of the way watching as Hinata's body collides with the window and knocks the plant over the ledge.

"No!" Hinata cries, reaching the pot that was already out of her reach. Tears sting the corner of her eyes.

"From the looks of it, you knocked the plant out the window. Right guys?" Sasuke asks in contempt. "Snitch on that, freak."

Hinata casts her sad gaze on Mitsuko whose expression was hidden behind her dark bangs. Naruto and his friends make their way out but the moment Sasuke walked past Mitsuko, she punched him right in the face.

Everyone stood shellshocked, never having seen Sasuke punched in the face, let alone by a girl. Tears spill from Mitsuko's eyes but it did nothing to mask the incensed glare she held. With a warcry she pounced on the Uchiha boy, pummeling his face with her little punches. The boys laugh and jeer at Sasuke's expense. Kiba tried to get Mitsuko to stop but all she managed to do was smack him in the face as well. Hinata stood just as shocked as everyone was before. She had never seen Mitsuko this way. Yes, she complained often about Naruto and his friends but Hinata never would've guessed that she felt this way. She was throwing punches and screaming to the heavens so that even the gods could know her rage. Sasuke tried to get her off him but it wasn't working so he reverted to blocked her fists as much as he could.

It took teacher aide Anko walking past to stop the fight and send everybody to the principal's office.

uh oh. it seems the kettle has now boiled over. from this point on, chapters should be longer! there's more story to tell in such short time.

thanks for reading, please R&R!

background facts;

this chapter had a lot of world building in the beginning. we learn that mitsuko's mother is a type of police/chief investigator and that minato's faults are indeed well known. i tried to allude to it, but yes, mitsuko's mother is most definitely investigating him. more on that later.

much love,,
