Harry was studying with his friends and classmates in the Gryffindor study area. He had a feeling there were eyes in the back of his head, watching, turning around, only for them to turn back to what they were doing. He turned to a sympathy Ron and his bushy-haired friend, who smiled back at him. Harry then looked to the left side of him; more eyes were on him from his classmates. He looked over at a staring Ginny; not being able to take it anymore, he decided to leave, telling his friends he would see them back in the standard room.
Before Harry went to see Snape, he decided to visit Colin. Knowing it won't make much difference, the boy is a vegetable. Still, it is nice to see him getting some get-well cards and flowers placed near his bed. That made Harry happy for him. 'If only you could see how much people care for you around, here.' He sat next to his bed in a white wooden chair. Harry realizes something near Colin's eye; there were tear stains. "You must have been terrified when it happened?" who wouldn't be when something like this happened, "At Least you didn't see me talk to a snake," Harry snorted, "the whole school thinks I am bad now." He looked over at his boyfriend, wiping his dried tear stains. "It will be all right; the school is already thinking of ways to cure you and the other two," Harry looked over at the petrified girl and then thought of Mrs. Norris, 'Perhaps I can try talking to Filch?'
Harry decided to do that, knowing the caretaker couldn't do any magic. So, he can't harm him. Also, Dumbledore will do something to Filch if something happened to the Golden Boy; first, he needs proof that he is innocent of all this craziness.
Severus was confused and worried when seeing Harry, confused about why this boy could speak to snakes. Something that he has only seen Voldemort do before. Harry had a feeling his professor would be looking at him like that too, "Not you too, professor."
"What do you think I would do after seeing that?" his teacher said with clenched teeth, "maybe hanging out with me, is not such a good idea right now. They would think I influenced you."
"There is no way Professor Dumbledore will think that." Harry reassured him, "also no one knows that I been hanging with you, other than me and the paintings." He turned away from Snape, not wanting to see that look on his face, the look everyone else is giving today, "Look I didn't know talking to snakes was a bad thing?" Snape looked down at the floor, "I was just telling it not to attack Justin, which he wanted to do." Snape sighed in his hand, "Professor?"
"I am thinking, Potter...on how you got this?"
"I have no idea. Ron and Hermonie think I am related to the heir of Slytherins." Snape thought about this, not knowing how to take this news of Lily's son talking to snakes. 'Wonder what his mother would say about this?' She probably will not be happy.
"My mom would have probably told you, if she was related to him, must be on my dad's side if I am related." Snape nodded in reply, thinking back to James Potter's family tree. Knowing he liked bragging about it to Severus many times. "It would make sense if my dad were, and that's why he been attacking the Slytherin side? For hating to be related to them," Harry wondered if that was the reason, looking over at his professor, "I am sorry he did that to you, by the way, and for taking away my mom." the dark wizard's eyes glanced at the floor. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them, though."
Snape nodded, looking over at Harry with a small smile. This shocked Harry 'His smile looked good on him.' Feelings started to surface again, making the young Gryffindor stand up, bidding his teacher good night.
On the way back to his own house, Harry came upon some muddy water and heard the voice again, saying he was looking for blood. He turned to the corridor only to find an unconscious Nearly Headless Nick and a petrified classmate Justin Finch. Harry crouched down to his housemate, feeling his cold fingers.
"Caught in the act," the caretaker shouts at him, hurrying to get the headmistress.
"No Filch you don't understand!"
Spiders crawled under his classmate; Harry watched them crawl out the window. He heard McGonagall's shocked voice, seeing the two victims. The young wizard tried to prove that he was innocent, but The Head of the House didn't want to hear any of it and brought him to Dumbledore's magic stairs, going up to his office.
Inside his office was a nice-looking room full of books, and the sorting hat was on top of a shelf. Harry asked him if he was put in the right house. The sorting had said back he would have done great in his enemy's house. Harry will prove him wrong, though. Things would have been different if he had been in Slytherin, but he doesn't want anything to change and likes his friends.
In front of Albus' desk was a big red bird sitting on a perch. Harry watched it for a few minutes before catching fire.
"Sir, there is nothing I could do...he just caught fire!" Harry says in shock, 'What just happened?' Professor Dumbledore explained to him what type of bird this is, a phoenix, and will burn to ashes when it is time to die. 'That's gotta hurt,' Harry thought as Albus looked over at the new hatchling from the ashes. He tells the young wizard that the phoenix has great healing powers. By using their tears to heal and they can carry heavy loads.
Suddenly the door opened, and both Hagrid and Snape came in. "Professor Dumbledore, sir! Wait, it wasn't Harry!" Hagrid was carrying an unconscious bird in his hand.
"Ah, Hagrid-"
"Infact I'd be prepared to swear it in front of the Ministry of Magic!"
"Hagrid! Relax." Albus believes that Harry did not do anything wrong; this got Hagrid to stop, telling them he would wait outside. In contrast, Severus stayed where he was.
"And what do you want Severus?" Albus wondered.
"Just seeing on what will happen to Potter," he replied, "you just answered my question though."
Harry looked at the headmaster, shocked, "You don't think it was me, Professor?" Snape moved next to Lily's son.
"No, I don't believe it was you," the headmaster replied, "but I must ask you...is there something you wish to tell me?"
"No sir," Harry said back, "nothing." Dumbledore nodded in return, telling him he was free to go. Snape followed behind.
Harry and Snape walked together down the stairs. "Were you worried, professor?" his student wondered. Snape already knew he had nothing to fear but wanted to make sure.
"Not really, just wanted to help you out."
Harry gaped at this, "Thank you for trying then. Guessing you heard about the other victims then?" Snape did, wanting to hurry and figure out who was behind it. This means he will be swamped these coming of weeks. He turned to Harry, explaining the situation, and added, "I must ask you not to visit me during these weeks. While this is happening."
"Can I least write to you?" Harry stopped on the stairs, facing him. He would miss this man if he couldn't at least talk to him somehow, "I will also be busy starting next month," he remembered the potion and figuring out if it was Draco.
Snape gave his student permission to write to him, "But only about school stuff, do I make myself clear?" Harry nodded, agreeing with that.
