I don't own Naruto or any of the characters. Kishimoto-san does. If he gave me the Naruto franchise, THEN I'D OWN NARUTO!

The Alphabet with NaruHina!

L is for Languid

Naruto felt at ease for once in a while. He had no problems at home, at least none he couldn't handle, school was a breeze, and that stupid dumb Mitsuko hadn't shown up at school for an entire month! Life was good. Some of the girls gossiped and said that one of her plants ate her. Others think she died. Naruto knew the truth but he wasn't one to gossip, surprisingly so. If he was asked he'd just simply tell the truth. Ever since Kiba showed where his loyalty lied she had gone missing. There was one thing he didn't understand though. What the hell was a whore? And why was Mitsuko's sister dealing with the yakuza? Naruto had never seen someone so crushed in his life. It almost made him feel bad.

Almost.

It was a boring, languid Tuesday morning. Everybody was filing into the class and finding their seats as Iruka-sensei greeted them. Naruto watched as Hinata sat down in her sea ahead of him. He wondered how he could mess with her today. Lately she hadn't been quite receptive to his taunting. Ever since Mitsuko had disappeared she had been utterly quiet, not even answering when the teacher called upon her. It was weird, and definitely freakish like and common among her kind.

"Now, now children. I have something important to relay." Sensei starts, quieting the class as he spoke. "Our dear friend and fellow classmate Oshiro Mitsuko has left the school and has unfortunately transferred to another district. We will wish her well by creating goodbye cards for her."

"Pft. Guess we're only down to one freak." Naruto heard Ino whisper to Sakura. The girls giggle before quieting down before Iruka noticed. Well, one person noticed. Naruto trained his gaze on Hinata who was currently staring only at the empty space occupying her desk. The piece of paper supposed to be used for Mitsuko's card laid untouched, save for the wet dots dribbling from her chin. Naruto focused back on his own card that also sat untouched. For a moment, he felt bad. That was Hinata's only friend who she seemed to always be happy with.

But then again..

Naruto scoffs and picked up a red pen, scribbling 'see ya' in bold plain letters. He could give a damn less about those freaks. He almost felt bad. Almost.
