Harry missed out on Hermonie turning into a cat by mistake with the Polyjuice potion. So, he had to check it out while visiting her in the hospital the next day, not believing this. Hermonie was so embarrassed by her failed attempt. "Don't worry, you will be yourself again soon," Harry reassured her while trying to keep the laughs down to a minimum.
Ron met up with him on the way back to the common room. "Have you spoken to Hermonie?"
Harry said she should be out of the hospital in a few days. "When she stops coughing up fur balls," he said. They both giggled as they stepped into some water; Ron was confused by this as they went to the second-floor corridor. There was water on the steps.
"Yuck!" his friend shouted.
The whole floor was flooded, "Looks like Myrtle flooded the bathroom." They heard someone behind them, seeing a dark figure coming over, "Professor Snape." Harry looked away from him, "Looks like the girl's bathroom got flooded?" he pointed to the water, 'Please don't bring up the kiss anytime soon,' he prayed in his mind. They all walked to the bathroom, hearing the ghost moaning and crying. Snape knew about this ghost from Dumbledore, who told him a while back. All the faucets were running. Harry bumped Ron on the arm to check out the spirit, crying by the window.
Myrtle looked over at them, "Come to through something else at me?"
Harry was confused by this, "Why would I throw something at you?"
"Don't ask me." She replied, getting up from the window, "here I am, minding my own business, and someone thinks it's funny to throw the book at me."
"But it can't hurt if someone threw something at you..." Harry tried to get him to stop talking, "I mean...it will go right through you."
"Are you an idiot, Mr. Weasley?" Snape wondered through clenched teeth.
"Oh sure!" the ghost swoops in, "let's all throw books at Myrtle because she can't feel it. Ten points if you get through her stomach," she punches through Ron's chest, he gaped at the coldness, "fifty points if it goes through her head!" the ghost hits through his head.
"Seems someone was pulling a prank on you," Snape said to her. Myrtle nodded with a moan.
"Who did that to you anyway?" Harry asked, feeling bad for the ghost. Myrtle told them that she was minding her own business, thinking of death, and the book fell through the top of the ghost's head. She starts moaning again, which Snape couldn't stand, wanting to cover his ears. They all looked over at the book lying on the floor near the stalls; Harry picked it up.
"Hand it to me, Potter?" Harry nodded, handing it over. It started sparking in the teacher's hand.
The Gryffindor quickly grabs it back, "Are you ok, Professor?"
Clearly, the book didn't want Snape to hold it, 'Very curious now.' he thought. "Bring it tonight during detention." Their teacher left. Harry looked down at the book, 'Hopefully, Snape's hand is alright?'

Snape was waiting for Potter to come in. Harry forgot about the kiss till now, feeling his cheeks turn a slight red as he knocked on his office door. His professor told him to enter. Harry slowly opened it, peeking inside. Snape was at his desk, 'What should I do if he brings it up?' Then remembering his hand, his student went over, grabbing Snape's hand, "Are you hurt, professor? I didn't expect that book to go off on you." His teacher looked at him in surprise, pulling his hand out of his grasp, "sorry, just wanted to make sure you were ok."
"I am fine, Potter. Stop worrying about it," he gets up.
Harry noticed a slight burn on the potion master's skin, "You say it's nothing, but I see that it burned you," he pointed to his hand, pointing his wand at it, "Episkey," his student whispered. The only healing spell he knows currently.
"Impressive, Potter," Snape looked at his healed hand, "guess you learned this one in class already?"
"You forget that I have a smart friend, right?" Harry questioned. His teacher should have known.
For the rest of the detention, Snape let his student sitting at his desk, which surprised Harry. Wondering why he is not shouting at him for kissing his teacher. 'Does he not care?' his student thought, looking at the book, opening it to notice plank pages. Harry looked at Snape standing next to him, "Must be an empty diary?" He looked confused at the book, looking at the back, 'Tom Marvolo Riddle.' Harry thought of what to do with it. Looking at the feather on the desk and the bottle of ink, Harry got an idea, asking his teacher for permission to use his feather. Snape silently nodded, watching his student dip it in the black liquid. A drop went on the page, disappearing. Harry and Snape gaped at that, looking at each other. The young wizard decided to write, 'My name is Harry Potter.'
The diary said, "hello Harry Potter, my name is Tom Riddle."
"Try it again?" his teacher said next to him, shocked at this discovery.
"Do you know anything about the chamber of secrets?"
"Yes."
"Can you tell me?"
"No." Harry sighed in frustration. "But, I can show you. Let me take you back fifty years ago." The page turned to June 13th. A light started appearing out of the pages, shining at both Harry and Snape. They appeared inside the journal, landing on the first-floor corridor.
His teacher explained that this is a memory diary, "I have one myself." Harry also wanted to read his one day, "Is it that important to you?" he nodded, "Let's focus on the task at hand."
His student agreed as they made their way to the staircase, seeing a man there. Snape told him they couldn't speak to anybody since it was just a memory. And that man over there is possibly Tom Riddle; since it was his diary. He was watching something going on upstairs. They all looked at a stretcher being carried down; a body was underneath a sheet. Snape looked over at Tom Riddle.
"Riddle!" They turned to the voice. 'Dumbledore.' Snape immediately recognized him, 'He looks so young, compared to now.' "Come?" Riddle goes over to the headmaster. "It is not wise to wander around this hour, Tom."
"I had to see for myself if the rumors were true?"
"I am afraid they are, Tom. They are true."
"About the school as well?" Tom wondered, worried, "I don't have a home to go to. They wouldn't really close, Hogwarts, would they, professor?"
"I understand, Tom, but I'm afraid...Headmaster Dippet may have no choice."
Snape leaned against the stair railing, 'This part is a bit boring.' he thought, crossing his arms. Harry looked over at him, deciding to stand next to his teacher while listening.
"Sir, if it all stopped. If the person responsible is caught?"
"Is there something you wish to tell me, Tom?" Riddle replied that he did not. Dumbledore eyed him suspiciously, which made Tom gulp. "Very well, then. Off you go."
"Goodnight, sir," his student walked past him. Harry and Snape followed behind. They followed Tom to the dungeon. Snape noticed it hadn't changed much as he looked around. Tom went to a wooden door, getting out his wand while making sure no one was there to see him do this, opening the door, "Evening, Hagrid." Snape gaped at the giant, noticing he was talking to someone in a treasure box. Closing it quickly as Tom came in, "I am going to have to turn you in, Hagrid," pointing his wand at him, "I don't think you meant it to kill anyone, but-"
"You can't. You don't understand," Hagrid argues back. Snape walks into the room to see what is in the box.
"The dead girl's parents will be here tomorrow. The least Hogwarts can do is make sure the thing that killed their daughter is slaughtered."
Snape realized it was a giant spider in there.
"It wasn't him," Hagrid tried to explain, "Aragog never killed no one. Never."
"Monsters don't make good pets, Hagrid. Now, stand aside Hagrid?" the giant refused, standing guard, "stand aside, Hagrid?"
"No!"
Snape got out of the way, moving towards Harry, standing beside him.
"Cistem Aperio!" Tom shouts; the box breaks open, and out comes the spider. Harry was shocked as he moved out of the way for the creature. The spider ran for his life, "Arania Exumai." The attack missed as he disappeared quickly.
"Aragog!"
"I can't let you go. They'll have your wand for this, Hagrid. You'll be expelled." Snape never had a good connection with the half-giant, but he felt terrible for him at this moment. Harry tried yelling at Hagrid, forgetting that he couldn't hear him. Harry and his teacher were pulled back while the wooden door closed in front of them. They were whirled back into Snape's office. The full force sent Harry tumbling backward, crashing into Snape. His teacher caught him before they both fell to the ground.
Harry quickly let go, "Sorry, professor." Snape told him he didn't mind it. "It was Hagrid then?" his student realized.
"I doubt it was Hagrid. Unfortunately, I don't know much about him, to begin with." Harry nodded in reply, "I will make sure to keep my eye on the gatekeeper." His student told him he would do the same thing, "Now...what made you kiss me the other day?"
Harry gaped, surprised he would bring that up, 'Why now?' "I guess it because, I wanted to, professor. No other meaning behind it really." His teacher's eyes grew dark, 'Was he disappointed?'
"Get out," he said in a dangerous voice. Harry could see something in his teacher's eyes, "you are just like your father, taking pity on me." He had enough, sitting at his desk, "the deal you made with me I-"
Harry stopped him with his lips, letting go, "I didn't do this out of pity," he scratched the back of his head, "I don't have anyone to talk to about this, but I know what I am doing to you is wrong," his student looked down at the ground, "I...I have something for you, professor. Is that what you wanted to hear?"
Snape looked down at his desk. "Of course it is wrong, Potter. You are my student. The son of Lily and James. Your also a kid still, not to mention my heart is with your mother, that hasn't change."
Harry gaped at that, moving away from his teacher, "Get over it, professor, my mom is gone; she isn't coming back," he winced at the pain in his teacher's eyes, "I will make another deal with you, I will help you get rid of those feelings for my mom, and in return, you can have her son." Snape was about to say something, "I know I am twelve, but I already know about my feelings for you. My mom didn't want you that way, but I do," His student walked away from him, taking the diary, "goodnight, professor." Snape watched Harry leave, considering this new situation. 'Harry wants to be with me?' the boy is only twelve, so the potion teacher won't take those feelings seriously just yet.
Harry was thinking about what he said to his teacher and thought of a plan. He will start taking his feelings seriously by making him his. But first, he needs to solve the mystery behind the chamber of secrets, and right now, Hagrid is a suspect.
