10 Minutes had passed and Ginny was resting her head on Harry's shoulder while lost in her own thoughts. I can't believe I am sitting here all alone with Harry Potter, the boy who lived. I can't believe he is letting me lean against him and lean my head on him like this. Ginny blushed at her own thought. Harry on the other hand was feeling worse than ever, his vision had become so blotted with dots and fuzzy that he could barely see a foot in front of him. Harry had tried to calm down to make his heart beat slower therefore not letting the poison spread as fast. His limbs had grown almost completely numb already, he couldn't even feel the fact that Ginny was resting on him. After some time I was able to see a bit clearer "Ginny, are you ready to head over to Dumbledore's office and meet up with your family?" Harry asked. Ginny was startled when Harry spoke she was so lost in her own thoughts, but then at Harry mentioning her family she looked terrified. "Harry! What if my parents don't accept me back after all of this? What if they are disgusted with me...i….i can't do this Harry… I can't face my family after what i've done. Ginny said with tears forming in her eyes. I was so caught up with being this close to Harry Potter i had forgotten how i ended up here in the first place!. Ginny thought to herself working herself up to tears. I'm so scared, after what i've done why would my family want to accept me? Ginny was about to voice this when she was cut off by Harry who was beginning to stand. "Ginny, your parents are the most loving and caring family I have ever met, and if you believe even for a second that they won't accept you back after they hear what happened, you are simply wrong. Ginny was taken aback by this comment, where her family really nicer then the family Harry comes from she wondered while staring into his emerald green eyes. "Ok Harry, if you really believe that I will trust you, it's just...I am worried to see their faces, see the disappointment on moms and dads faces." Harry didn't know what to say to this so he simply did the first thing that came to mind, he did what he would have always wanted a parent to do to him when he was sad. He wrapped his arms around Ginny and stroked her back with one hand while telling her everything was going to be ok. Ginny first shocked by Harry hugging her, that shock quickly went away as she hugged him back and buried her face into his shoulder letting her tears come out as she held onto Harry. Harry struggled to maintain a confident appearance under the extra wait, it was all he could do was to just stand there and not let his legs give way under the added weight.
After a few minutes of this Harry broke away, Slightly red from crying, Ginny's face cleared up a bit and seemingly had regained her composure. Ginny looked up into Harry's eyes, Harry Potter truly is special, he is so strong and dependable, like he could take all my problems and bear them for me….the boy who lived. She thought to herself. Harry and Ginny began to walk to Dumbledore's office. His vision fading more and more with each step He took, his limbs no longer obeying him.. Once they had reached the griffin entrance to Dumbledore's office Harry stopped. "Ginny, would you mind going ahead of me? I have something I'd like to take care of real quick, I will be right behind you." Harry said with a smile. Taken aback by this, Ginny nodded and continued up to Dumbleodres office by herself, curious as to what Harry needed to do. As soon as Ginny was out of sight, Harry's smile vanished and was replaced with an expression of pain. His legs barely moving, Harry walked towards the hospital wing leaning against the wall for support, simply opening his eyes now made him nauseated. Relieved that he was able to fool everyone into thinking he was fine, all Harry had to do now was make it to the hospital wing. His feet dragged as if trapped in quicksand. Each step taking all of his concentration to complete, he made it halfway to the Hospital Wing when his legs could bear no more. Crashing to the ground, his legs no longer willing to hold him up he passed out.
Ginny slowly walked up the spiral staircase to Dumbledore's office, she hesitantly opened the door. "He..llo?" Ginny's voice came out weak from uncertainty and nerves. "Oh Ginny!" cried Mrs Weasley as she embraced her daughter the only way Mrs Weasley knew how to hug. Ginny had to take a step back and rebalance herself from such a powerful embrace. "Mom...i'm...i'm so sorry i didn't." Ginny tried to get out her voice cracking but was interrupted by Molly, "Hush now Ginny i know you didn't, you are going to be ok everything is going to be ok I promise." Hugging Ginny tightly, Molly cooed while stroking her hair. "Albus told us everything dear." Molly said, tearing up. Releasing her daughter from her tender grasp, Mrs. Weasely moved away allowing Ron to approach Ginny. with tears in his eyes this time, he embraced his sister. . "I'm so sorry Gin, I was supposed to protect you when you got here and keep you safe but I.. failed to see. I failed to notice what was going on in your life, Gin I'm just, I'm so sorry.' Ron said letting his tears run freely. Ginny could feel the guilt her brother was harboring inside. "It's ok Ron, I should have come to one of you but I didn't." Ginny began. "No Gin, I'm your older brother. I was supposed to be there for you when you needed me ...Ginny,I... I'm sorry." Ron said now visibly and audibly sobbing.. Ginny was taken aback by this, she had no idea how to respond. She had no idea that he was harboring so much guilt for not being there for her. "It's ok Ron im ok now… i'm ok." Ginny said embracing Ron.. "You're here now, that's what matters." Ginny said, feeling deeply moved by how much Ron cared. Ginny looked around to her family and thought to herself how could my entire family accept me back after what I did? Why aren't they ashamed of me? Ginny thought to herself with a tear rolling down her cheek.
At that point Albus Dumbledore spoke up "Ginny my dear I do have one question for you if you wouldn't mind." Ginny and the rest of the Wesasleys looked up at the professor. "Can I confirm the fact that both Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley are the ones that saved you from the chamber, yes?" At that moment Ron answered for Ginny " Yes professor, Harry and I saved Ginny…..but." Ron looked down at his feet, his face turning slightly red from embarrassment. "Truthfully professor, it was Harry that saved Ginny, all I did was move loads of bloody rocks that were blocking the path for Harry and Ginny to get to us." Said Ron sheepishly. "Well, that and watching professor Lockhart that is." Ron said, thrusting his thumb in the direction of professor lockhart who seemed to be completely absorbed with something in the corner of the office. "Ah yes." said Dumbledore "Professor Lockhart it seems, will need to spend time away to try and recover from the memory charm." Dumbledore said with what seemed like a quick smirk on his face, vanishing not a second later.. "I will have Professor Lockhart sent to St. Mungo's at once, but there still begs the question." exclaimed Dumbledore in a serious tone. "If you say that was the one who saved your dear sister,….where is Mr. Potter now?" Dumbledore asked, eyeing the room. His words took all of the air out of the room as silence ensued it.. Ron began to speak without certainty "Well professor…I… I came in here myself earlier to catch you up on what happened and to get my family here." Said Ron starting to look at Ginny. "I had asked Harry to stay behind with Ginny so that he could make sure she was alright as well as to let her rest before meeting everyone "here" Ron said. At this point, all eyes were on Ginny as her eyes went down to the floor. "I don't know where Harry is." Ginny said not being able to look anyone in the eyes. Upon hearing this Dumbledore's eyes darkened. Dumbledore began to speak "Mr. Weasley are you certain that Mr. Potter was uninjured when you saw him last"? asked Dumbledore. Instead of Ron replying it was Ginny "Ummm Professor." Ginny began as all eyes were on her again, she really wasn't enjoying being the center of attention. "Professor, I remember seeing Harry's arm after I woke up, his arm was punctured but the second I mentioned it, Harry covered his arm and said he was fine." Ginny muttered quietly. 'Harry said he was fine, though so I didn't give it a second thought." Ginny hurriedly added. She sneaked a glance at Dumbledore, his eyes were beginning to show worrying which frightened Ginny. "Mr. Weasley," Dumbledore began " Do you happen to know what caused the puncture in Mr. Potter's arm?" Dumbledore asked with even greater concern showing. "Well… when I woke up and looked around the chamber, I saw a giant snake laying dead near the end of the chamber." Ginny said nervously. She sneaked another peak at Dumbledore, but the second she did… she wished she hadn't. The otherwise calm man showed worry and fear in his eyes as he began to speak. "We need to find Mr. Potter immediately!" exclaimed Dumbledore, all traces of the calm relaxed man gone. "If that snake is what I fear it to be, Mr. Potter's life may very well be hanging in the balance!" exclaimed Dumbledore.
Not waiting for a reply, he stood up walking firmly and quickly with purpose out of his office, his robes billowing behind him as he did so. Beginning to feel a pit in her stomach upon hearing this,, Ginny looked up at her family. They resembled a mix between shock and extreme worry. She then looked at Ron, his face made her heart skip a beat, her brother looked more worried then she had ever seen him be in her life. She was about to tell Ron not to worry, that Harry said he would be fine although at this point she didn't know if she was saying that to Ron… or to herself. Before she could get the words out, Ron had grabbed her by the wrist and ran out of the office with her saying "Gin, Where was the last time you saw Harry?" Ron asked, with the worry and fear all to clear in his voice. "Well." Ginny stuttered " I last saw him when we were walking back from the bathroom and we got about…...maybe halfway to Dumbledore's office when Harry told me to go ahead of him as he needed to take care of something." Ginny explained the following behind Ron as they jogged throughout the empty corridors, their footsteps echoing throughout. "Dumbledore looked really worried Gin, I've never seen him like that before." Ron explained to Ginny. "Gin, what did Harry say he needed to take care of?" Ron asked as they both continued to run through the corridors. "I don't know, i….i never asked him." replied Ginny with mounting fear. He stopped running and looked at Ginny, opened his mouth to say something, but decided otherwise, and kept running with his sister.. They rounded a corner of the corridor where they saw Dumbledore kneeling in the corner, both Ginny and Ron hurriedly made their way over to him. "Professor!" Ron said, getting the professor's attention. "Professor did you find H-." Ron stopped his sentence dead in its tracks when he realized why Dumbledore was kneeling. There layed Harry, slumped on the ground, eyes closed, clutching his arm. Ron gasped and was speechless. Ginny was behind Ron and heard him gasp so she stepped up beside him to get a look at what he saw, that's when she saw Harry. Ginny let out a shriek and covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes beginning to water, there was Harry. She looked at him slumped over clutching his arm, unconscious. She tried to speak, but simply couldn't get any words out as she watched Dumbledore interact with Harry. Dumbledore was casting multiple diagnosis spells checking Harry. Dumbledore turned and looked at Ginny "Go and get Madam Pomfrey and tell her I have requested her presence and tell her it's an emergency!" Dumbleodre said to Ginny, but she did not move. She was frozen in place looking on in Harry, her eyes never leaving Harry. Ron saw this and went in her steed, bolting down the corridors to the hospital wing to fetch Madam Pompfrey.
A few breathless minutes went by as Ginny and Dumbledore awaited Madam Pompfre. Ginny looked at Harry's unconscious body. Oh Harry, why? But… but you're Harry Potter, the boy who lived, you can't be hurt you just….can't. Ginny thought to herself. At that moment both Ginny and Dumbledore heard footsteps barreling down the corridor. Madam Pompfrey came running to see the headmaster. "Headmaster this better be important i was packing up my supplies for the end of the school year." Madam Pompfrey said. Dumbledore simply pointed at Harry on the ground and leaned close to Madam Pompfrey whispering. "I believe the boy has been poisoned by the Venom of a Basilisk." Ginny wondered what Professor Dumbledore was saying to her but quickley feared the worse when she went deathly pale. "ALL OF YOU BACK RIGHT NOW!" She shouted making her way to Harry. She took out her wand and levitated Harry and started running back to the Hospital wing with him with everyone else hot on her trail. When she arrived at the hospital wing she placed Harry gently down on one of the beds and started doing diagnosis spells on him. Ginny looked on in what could only be described as disbelievement. The boy who lived, Harry Potter, the one who saved her life was now lying in the hospital wing uncouncis looking deathly pale.
Ginny simply couldn't believe what was happening. She took a closer look at Harry and realised that he was sweating profusely and was shaking quite a bit. Madam Pompfrey cast several spells and three light balls appeared over Harry's bedside, one glowing brightly, one flashing and the other lay dim. Madam Pompfrey then went into her office and began rummaging in her back looking for a potion. She found the one she wanted and hurried back to Harry, when she was halfway back however the ball of light that was blinking suddenly stopped. Madam pompfrey froze, "OUT, EVERYONE OUT NOW!" She screamed. Ginny felt a lump in her throat starting to form. "Madam Pompfrey what's wrong with harry!" Ginny choked out as she was being herded out of the hospital wing. Madam Pompfrey sent out a patronus to get help from the nurses on standby and she said, "Harry's heart has stopped beating." and that was the last thing Ginny heard as the door to the hospital wing closed not allowing anyone else to enter.
