The waves were rolling in just like when he had left his favorite beach all those years ago. The sun illuminated the golden sands and the aquamarine waves glistened, it was nice to come back to the pristine sands. Then one day it happened. A wave of energy had washed over him. Though he didn't get pushed from his spot, the force caught his attention. Nothing had felt like that in a long time. Not the others, they were just like him; that energy had felt fresher, newer, alive. His eyes scanned the area in search for the source of that wave but didn't see anything. The other three hadn't returned then but he knew once they came back they would sense it too. He kept searching but came up empty handed, all he knew was that the place was clean again.
Soon the other three returned one by one. Nakamura with his cancer sticks, Ayaka in her yukata, and Misa in her swimsuit. At first none had registered that he had felt something, not until a few weeks later when another wave blasted through his being. He wasn't alone this time as the others looked around, Nakamura even standing to peer out to where he thought it came from. They gave up but all now were aware that something was changing. It would be a few weeks before the mysterious waves of energy finally started to have an answer, in the form of a green-haired youth.
"That child... he's not like us. He's still alive... could he...?" Misa looked to the others.
"Ayaka, Ishi, you two are they elders here. That kid is alive but... is he one of them?" Nakamura asked with a bit of dread in his voice.
Looking between each other, Ayaka and Ishi had a silent conversation before nodding and looking to the others. Ishi cast his line out and smirked. "It looks like certain beings are still watching over us, I have a good feeling about this." Today marked a new start, maybe with this fortune he'd catch a big one today.
"Oh! Kacchan! It's a surprise to see you here!" Izuku's timid smile and half-friendly wave did nothing to mask his nervousness. Nor did it make the Explosion quirk user any less hostile towards the teen. Katsuki also didn't believe the 'surprise' comment; Izuku had been able to sense people familiar to him immediately within his zone over the years and Katsuki's spiritual signature was a very well known one. This made it where Izuku could be a bit prepared for the blonde's irate nature, while also making it hard for Katsuki to surprise him. Gazing at the blonde teen before him, Izuku noted the red color was a deeper crimson and the spikes were just as sharp.
Getting into Izuku's personal space, Katsuki spoke, "What the hell are you doing here nerd?" The dark tone gave off that the words were more of a threat than a question. "You know this is a test to become Heros, right? You know, a test where quirks are involved, and last I remembered, you don't have one. At least, not one for stuff like this." Izuku had told the blonde about his 'so-called quirk', but it was nothing made for combat.
'And here we go again... why Kacchan?', Izuku thought. This had been an ongoing debate between the two, could Izuku be a Hero with his abilities? Katsuki was against the possibility while Izuku was determined to make his dream reality. Izuku met his friend's(?) eyes, "Mine may not be flashy or powerful like yours, but I've been training and have reached a break through with it. It seems to have mutated due to... that incident a while back..."
Katsuki twitched but made no comment. The day of the Sludge Villain had left a bad taste in his mouth, literally and figuratively. "Tch... Know what? I don't give a shit what you do, Deku, just stay out of my way! I'm going to be the top Hero and no one will stop me. Especially not you." He turned to walk through the main doors to U.A. Highschool, "I don't know what that old fuck see's in you, but he also wishes you luck." With that, and a rough shoulder check, the blonde teen left.
Izuku was left standing there, staring at the direction his classmate had gone before letting out a big sigh. 'I really hope today gets better than this. Maybe I can at least make the top ten in the Hero exam.' The greenette shook his head and balled his fists. "No! I can't doubt myself and be wishful! I made a promise and I have their support! Nothing, not even Kacchan, will get me down!" With his self pep talk done, Izuku marched to the door. Until he tripped on his own feet. 'Or not...shit!'
Shutting his and and bracing for impact, Izuku never saw the hand that saved him. 'Wow, hitting the ground never felt so... not painful nor not ground?' Izuku cracked open his right eye and saw the ground right in front of him. Turning his head left and right he saw that he was floating in mid air, parallel to the pavement. "What the?"
"Hey! Are you ok?" A cheery voice called out to Izuku. He turned his head and saw a girl about his age, with chestnut brown hair that had two long pieces framing her face. Rosey cheeks and a kind smile graced him. She wore a brown hoodie, a fluffy pink scarf, and had a shirt with dark stockings underneath. She reached out and gently turned him right-side up before tapping all of her fingers together. Izuku felt his weight return as his feet touched earth again. The girl giggled and held out a hand to him and shook his. "Sorry for using my quirk on you, but it would've been bad luck if you had hit the ground like that before the exam. I wish you the best!" She grinned happily before she dashed off towards the doors.
'I just talked to a girl! Best. Day. Ever!!' Izuku's mind was racing with these happy thought, but his face didn't match the moment. The other examinees walked a bit of a circle around him, his expression looking happily but kind of off-putting. He didn't actually say a word to her, something his mind caught up in once he remembered where he was. 'If I see her again I really need to thank her.'
-Exam Auditorium-
"Of all the fucking seats, they put you right. Fucking. Here." Katsuki was seething in his seat. Not only did the nuisance that was Midoryia attending the exam, he also had to sit beside him. Gripping the arms of the chair, Katsuki kept his anger in check, which meant not explosions or pops, but still anger and cursing as allowed. "I fucking hate this."
"They put us together since we are the only ones from our school, Kacchan." Izuku gave a small sigh at his once-a-time friend. The blonde huffed at the answer, not liking the obviousness to it. "And come on, we get to see Present Mic!" Izuku was excited. He was a big fan of Mic's radio show and had called in a few dozen times over the years. He had become a regular caller and Mic loved the questions and discussions.
"Deku... just shut up." By now Katsuki had accepted that the greenette was a Hero nerd. Secretly, so was the explosive teen, but that would never be said out loud. Though the prospect of having Mic as a teacher, along with many other Heros did make him happy. The room they were in was a large amphitheater that created a semicircle around a small stand with a podium on it, behind it was a large golden UA emblem on the wall.
After a while all the seats were full and the room was abuzz with idle chatter. Many of the examinees were excited and nervous, with good reason since only forty students would be in the Hero Course. With this much competition around, everyone was making notes about those that looked strong or may be a problem. All noise stopped though when the lights dimmed. Students watched as the middle of the floor behind the podium gave way to a rising platform, with a man standing upon it. He wore all black leather, a jacket with an upturned collar, matching pants and gloves. All studded. He wore large black glasses and had a large collar made from a directional speaker. Most notably was his hair style. His bright blonde hair was stylized into a cockatiel shaped tuff, high into the air, with a well trimmed mustache on his face.
"Hello boys and girls! It is I! The great radio star, the king of DJs, and your host, Present Mic! Yeah! Welcome to todays show! Can I get 'Yeah'?!" Deafening silence was all that came back to the eccentric Hero. He however didn't acknowledge it and kept going. Somehow with more enthusiasm he spoke, "Cool, cool, well my young listeners, its time we talk about your exam, who's ready?!" More silence.
Though none of the students publicly spoke out, all of them were having various thoughts. The majority were confusion, revulsion, and mockery. 'What the hell?!', 'Is he for real? I thought he was Pro, not a weirdo!', and 'Look at this guy, pfft...he looks so lame it hurts!' were the nicer of these thoughts. One student though was frantically writing down notes on Mic's persona, all the while muttering "This is so awesome! Its so much better than his talk show! His soul is a mixed color too! Orange and purple... this is so awesome! And the shape! Its buzzing like crazy!"
"I swear to God, Deku..." Katsuki seethed quietly.
"Ok kiddos! Listen up, 'cause this is how your exam will go! You will be undergoing a ten-minute mock 'city-wide siege'. Grab whatever gear or clothing you want and then go to you designated testing field. On your cards it will say one of the sites, A through G. Very few of you will have an old classmate in there with you. Sorry, no battle buddies!" Mic was grinning more as he explained the conditions of the exam.
"So that's why your's says 'D' and mine is 'B'." Izuku stated while leaning over and looking at Katsuki's student card. He in turn stuffed it in his pocket.
"Shut up, Deku!" He silently hissed. "Just be glad I won't be stomping your ass into the ground in the exam." Izuku shivered at the disappointed look on the blonde's face.
Behind Mic, a screen came down and showed a small, video game styled diagram. "Each site is filled with three kinds of fake Villains, and each kind as a different point worth. Use your quirks and skills to take them out, rack up those points, and aim to pass! Got that my listeners!?" Mic's enthusiasm was easily heard. "Oh! Don't be a jerk and attack other candidates! You are here to be Heros, not wanna-be Villains. You do that and goodbye your chances of attending this school." Katsuki really didn't like that part.
"Excuse me! Sir Mic! I have a question." A male voice called out, interrupting the Pro. Standing up amongst his fellow examinees, a tall teenager, with a toned build, dark bluish-black hair, and glasses, looked at the Hero. He held up a pamphlet of the exam in one hand while pointing at it with his other hand. "The exam detail file shows no less than four kinds of fake Villains. If this is an obvious error, then it shames the prestige of U.A., the top Hero school in Japan. All of us came here to be the best of Heros we can, and to show we were meant to earn that position today, but this make it seem like you aren't taking us serious!" He spoke up with passion about his dream but was way too serious for many of the other attendees' case. The teen then turned and pointed, "And you! The one with green and curly hair! You've been muttering and scribbling like a madman this entire time! Either you will take this exam seriously, or you should leave because this isn't a game!"
All eyes turned to the called out individual, which happened to be Izuku. He made yelp of embarrassment and blushed, shrinking into his seat as the crowd around him snickered. Katskui grinned largely and laughed out. "Good going dumbass, your stupid note taking finally bites you in the ass!" He laughed harder.
"You as well!" The young man called out Katsuki. "You have been exuding a dangerous aura and have growled loudly at the one beside you, its distracting. And that demeanor, its unbecoming of a Hero. Saying you would crush the one with green hair, do you really belong here?" All around the duo, laughter and snickers were heard.
Both Izuku and Katsuki were both silent and in different states, Izuku in embarrassment and surprise, and Katsuki in anger. Pure, unadulterated, anger. Izuku was surprised that someone had even said that to his once-a-time friend, but also he felt something else. It was weird that he felt a bit of happiness that the blonde was silenced, but also a bit of bitterness that it was someone else that did it, and anger that someone questioned his ex-friend's dream. Katsuki stood up and started to say something but felt a tug on his sleeve. Izuku spoke quietly, "Don't, we can get him back later." The cold way he said it caught Katsuki off guard but he nodded and sat back down.
Mic decided to speak up and address the glassed student's question. "You are correct, there are four kinds if enemies you will face! The first three are ranked easy, medium, and hard. But that last one is more of a gimmick. Its not meant to be fought. Its meant to be survived!" The tone shift was felt around the room. "Anyone who actually goes after that thing will lose all their points, no matter if they had gotten enough to pass. That's the 0-Pointer! Now then! Everyone please get ready, go and get into your gear. With this I will leave you listeners with our school motto. As the great Hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'True heroism means to stand above the ilks of life.' Plus Ultra and break a leg everyone!" The sadistic smirk was not missed.
-Train Ground Beta-
Izuku was doing small stretches as everyone at ground Beta was either doing the same, taking deep breaths, or talking excitedly. He wore his regular mint green track suit, matching pants, and iconic red shoes, with a few extra items on his body. On his back was a wooden bokken sword, while on his hands were black fingerless gloves with steel plates on the back. The tension in the air was suffocatingly thick. 'Geez this is nerve wracking. No matter how well we all try to hide it, no one is truly ready for this.' Izuku eyed the surrounding participants. Various colors lit up in his sight and all the shapes came to life. Looking back on this day, he'd note that it was like watching a beautiful scenery. Vibrant colors and life interacting in a collage of chaotic harmony. Right now, however, Izuku was trying to calm himself as well.
Various colors radiated out to him, almost too much to discern. But Izuku could definitely tell how everyone felt. The various aura were mess of feelings, buzzing excitment, boiling stress hidden underneath, some had blunt spikes that showed traces of fear while others wiggled in curiously. Looking down at his own hand, Izuku noted the small boiling effect under the buzzing outer layer. 'Damn it, need to calm down before this begins.'
He closed his eyes and started to view the world in his inner map, pulsing small waves of spiritual energy to make a small sonar. Normally in a crowd, Izuku would have to concentrate to mute the colors if we wanted to focus on certain individuals, but right now he let the masses shine. Using the collage as a beacon, he noted the his inner map found nothing in the city. As he slowly grounded himself, a small flash appeared in the collage. Quickly opening his eyes, Izuku looked to his left and scanned the crowd. After a bit, he saw what, or whom, caught his attention.
The brown haired girl from earlier was holding her hands together and taking deep breaths, a look of determination on her face. With his quirk active, he saw the bright pink aura around her, buzzing and shining bright. 'It's her!' Izuku was about to make his way to her when suddenly a hand roughly held his shoulder.
"And what do you think you're doing?" A familiar deep and annoyed voice spoke. Turning around, Izuku saw the same teen from earlier, a deep frown on his glasses-wearing face. "Going to sabotage her, eh? I won't let that stand!" The loud voice started to draw attention to the two. Many of the other competitors started to laugh and sneer, seeing the green-haired kid get outed again.
Izuku tried to correct the teen. "No! I was just going to wish her luck and thank her for something from earlier today."
"Highly unlikely! The likelihood of you knowing her is so little that I find it hard to believe you were going to say something uplifting. These exams are important to all of us! Don't ruin another's dreams if you yourself are likely to fail at your own!" The teen spat back, thinking he had put the would-be troublemaker in his place.
At this point, the crowd was watching the two and even the kind girl from earlier was watching in curiosity. Izuku was embarrassed, with memories of early childhood and grade school life flashing through his head. This guy was just like his old peers! 'That's it! I'm done with this!' "Hey! How about you-"
"ATTENTION ALL PARTICIPANTS!!!", Present Mic's voice cut through the murmurs of the crowd and Izuku's beginning rant." THE EXAM BEGINS NOW!!!" As soon as Mic was done speaking, the gates to site Beta opened. The students were stunned for a second before one started to run forward, then another, followed by one more, until soon the entire mass of people ran for the gates to start the exam. The bi-speckled teen ran off towards the crowd as Izuku was left standing there.
"...GRAWHH!!" He screamed in frustration before running after the group. 'Me causing a distraction?! Fucking hypocrite!!' He ran into the test site and started to run past the main group deeper into the city. Rounding a corner he saw his first "Villain" blocking his way, a two-pointer. "Perfect! I need to let some anger out!"
Izuku charged 5% of his quirk in his arms and thrust a right hook into the face of the robot. It crumpled under the force like a soda can being stomped on. The machine's upper half ripped off and the body fell over, losing all power. Grinning to himself, Izuku rushed on to another three robotic enemies a few yards away. Dodging a wild left swing, he punched through a one-pointer and used its body to ram a two-pointer out of the way. With two down and one to go, Izuku charged up his legs and kicked off the ground to watch as the larger three-pointer attacked the space he had previously occupied. While in the air, Izuku made a flicking motion with his thumb and index finger. A rush of wind blasted out and the robot was pushed back a few feet, barely scratched.
'Huh, so even a 5% Shot can only move them. Noted. Let's try something different.' With this thought, Izuku landed and charged up to 8% in his arms and aimed a punch at the ground in front if his opponent. The force caused the road to burst up and out, toppling the three-pointer, as well as making a 20 ft (6M) scar in the road behind it. Izuku quickly ran forward and charged 5% to his legs to kick the head off the fake Villain. The head flew off in the distance and the body turned off, allowing Izuku to power down and breathe a bit. "Whew, thank god I can do that now, if it wasn't for Dr. Kuro, I'd have broken my legs by now. 8 points is not a lot though, need to keep going." Before Izuku rushed off, he closed his eyes and focused. The large conglomerate of souls to the south was all the competitors still trying to get into the area, and the smaller groups breaking away were the competitors that made it through. Other, single dots on his internal map were individuals on their own. "Ok, let's do this!"
-Training Ground Delta-
Gripping the head of a three-pointer, a blast erupted out and incinerated it. "Die!" Katsuki yelled before using his quirk to rip and tear through more enemies. A wide grin on his visage as he destroyed one after another. After a handful of minutes, Katsuki was on top of a pile of scrap metal, explosions blasting from his palms as he laughed. "This. Is. AWESOME!"
He had been in the testing field close to an hour now, letting his combat prowess shine. When the gate had opened, he had rushed past the masses and into the fray, explosions had marked his path of destruction. Now nearing the last ten minutes, Katsuki had been running out of targets but was still enjoying himself,
he hadn't felt this free in a long while. He fought fights, used his quirk here and there, but never like this. "See that you nobodies?! This is how a real Hero does it!" Around the pile were various competitors, staring in awe and horror. It was surprising to all that one person could take out 20 enemies in only a few minutes.
"This guy", "Holy shit..", "What the hell?!" were various comments from the people around Katsuki. He smirked before hopping off and targeting another robot, a wild haymaker ripping it to pieces. Jumping from that one, he kicked another aside before blasting it into a building.
"55 points, still too low!" Katsuki growled before lunching into the fray of a group of fake Villains surrounding some fighters. "Mine, mine, mine, MINE!" With a crash and a burst of flames, the individuals were pushed back as Katsuki obliterated the robots.
"That oughta do it" he said as he clapped the dust off his hands. Before anyone else could get a word in to criticize his plan of attack, a large rumble was heard before the ground started to shake heavily. Many of the competitors looked around frantically, and even Katsuki took a second to look. Soon from down a road a head of them, a group of individuals were fleeing, panic written in their faces.
"Move it! Its coming! The big one" A dude shooting what looked like tape from his arms screamed as he swung by.
"Run or die! That thing is massive!" Another guy, looking to be made of metal with shark-like teeth yelled as he and others ran past Katsuki.
Almost right after they ran by, a giant metal hand gripped the side of the building. From around the corner, the eight-story tall behemoth shown its full form as it bore down on the competitors. "Oh fuck that!" Katsuki yelled as he turned and used his quick to jump faster away. Dodging and weaving through other test takers and using active enemies as run-by points, he rushed out of the zone.
Once outside of the gates he turned to watch as the monstrous robot tore the testing ground apart. Buildings crumbled, flames and smoke from prop cars and gas lines illuminated the gigantic robot from below. It reminded him of the old action movies his relative had kept, something about automobiles turning into mechs. Turning his head, Katsuki saw other skyscraper-tall mechs destroying the other zones, screams of panic filling the air.
'Hah! Good thing everyone else has this shit! But no one can beat my score! Especially not that nerd!' Katsuki grinned to himself before frowning. Letting out a growl like sigh, he pondered on his estranged friend. 'Damn it Deku, you better fail. This isn't a game for useless shitstains.' The thought of the green haired boy filled the blonde with both anger and regret. But a memory that did surprise him took over, the nerd had stopped him from yelling at that four-eyed-nobody for saying shit about his dreams. The cold and anger in Izuku's voice surprised him. 'Heh, you may not have a quirk, but you can help kick that fucker's face in for what he said', While in thought, Katsuki's eyes caught something in the distance. Everyone had saw it, a bright green flash, a beam of energy ripping through one of the giant robots, before the back plates exploded, the head sliding off as if cut, and its body toppled down, defeated.
"...the fuck?!"
-15 Minutes Prior-
Izuku had managed to locate a small group of contestants huddled together, surrounded by a mass of robotic 'Villains'. They looked exhausted, a bit banged up, and two looked to have injuries that slowed their movement. Charging up 8% of his power, the greenette burst through the ring of robots with devastating punch. Turning to his right, he started a mixture of kicks and punches, steadily ripping his. way through the mass of metal enemies. The group of teens watched in awe as the boy cleared out all of the bots, the emerald electricity surrounding him. Once done, Izuku took a knee and powered down to catch his breath. His gloves were shredded by this point, one of them missing the back plate and the other was just gone, only leather scraps remained. His body ached as the toll for his quirk caught up. '8% is the max I can use, my bones feel like lead and muscles hurt so much!' He looked to the group and gave a tired smile, "Are you alright?"
An orange-haired girl in a white gi gave a small wave and nod. She was sitting on the ground with one of her legs wrapped in makeshift splint. "Y-yeah... thank you. We got surrounded and after a bit it became too much. Those things are a nightmare to handle in waves."
"Holy shit bro! That was freaking epic!" A black haired teen with shark like teeth pumped his fist at Izuku. The teen looked to be in a torn jersey and shorts. "Bro, you have got to pass with that manly display!"
Not used to compliments, Izuku blushed and tried to hide his head. "Wha- No, no, I was just trying to help. I saw you guys needed a hand and just jumped in without thinking. I'm sorry I took the points from you." He gave them an apologetic bow.
A teen with a beast-like appearance and cracked glasses on his face was one of the two injured. He waved at his savior, "Hey man, nothing to worry about. Without you, I probably would be in worse shape. I and my new friend here owe you one." He jerked a thumb to girl with short silver hair that covered her left eye.
She was busy using her quirk to lift a decent sized chunk of cement before having it launch at one remaining robot. It reminded Izuku about his mother's telekinesis quirk, just stronger. The girl turned and bowed, "I sincerely appreciate your heroism. You are a light in this dismal hour." Her soft, gravely voice matched her tired took. Izuku broke down her words to mean 'Thank you for your help, you'll be a great Hero.' He smiled and thanked her.
Using this moment to take a break, Izuku sat beside the group to collect his thoughts. They chatted a bit, mostly discussing how much harder the exam was then they thought it would be. They learned each other's names and some aspects of each of their quirks. They learned that the orange-haired girl, named Itsuka Kendo, could enlarge or shrink her fists at will, thus they returned to normal size. They also learned that the black-haired teen, Eijiro Kirishima, could make his body hard like stone, with similar strength and density properties as well. The beast teen was Jurota Shishida, and the silver-haired girl was Reiko Yanagi. Izuku introduced himself and then offered the two injured teens a hand as he stood up. Before the kids could grasp each other's hands, the ground started to shake violently. Those standing had to try to keep balance, Kirishima toppling over. All the teens turned their heads left and right as they tried to find the origin of the shakes.
"What the hell is that?!" Kirishima screamed.
"I don't know, and I really don't like it!" Kendo yelled. "We need to get out of here, now!"
With her exclamation, the teens all scrambled to get up and move. With Yanagi's and Kirishima's aid, Shishida's arms were wrapped over their shoulders as they hoisted him up. The three made a quick, wobbly run as fast as they could. Izuku quickly ran up to Kendo and gave her a quick "I'm sorry" before crouching down to scoop her into his arms. Kendo let out a small squeak as a light dusting of pink spread over her face. She held on to Izuku's shirt as he charged 5% of his quirk before bolting forward. After taking a few left and right turns, the group of teens joined the majority of the other contestants that were running for the entrance gate. All of them had the look of fear on their faces, some screaming to run to those that were still fighting the "Villain" bots.
Izuku heard the rumbles behind them, and then heard buildings crashing and crumbing. He felt Kendo grip his shirt tighter, making him refocus on the current objective: escape! He kept looking around as he ran through the crowds until a fellow runner rushed into his side, knocking him and his charge to the ground. While down, he turned back to look at the mayhem behind them. Izuku's eyes widened as he saw a giant metal hand come around the corner of a building, its fingers grasping it before pulling the enormous frame of robot similar in design to the false Villains, just so, so much bigger.
"You have got to be kidding me! That's the Zero Pointer?! What the hell!" Izuku scrambled to get up as a fellow participant screamed in outrage. Another student ran by the down duo, a familiar glasses wearing male shot Izuku and Kendo a glance but kept booking it to the gate. Izuku tried to grab the girl but another massive rumble knocked him back down.
Kendo saw the wannabe Hero try to get up again and get her to safety, but the destruction of the roads and buildings were making his attempts harder. Fear clutched her heart, but try as she might, the large gash on her leg was the injury keeping her from moving. She focused on Izuku and made a choice. "G-go! You can still run, get out of here! My leg is messed up but you can still make it!"
Izuku looked at her, stunned by what she just ordered him to do. "Wait! You just want me to leave you here?! No way! I can't do that to you, its not right! Just let me-"
"Someone help me! Please my leg is stuck!"
Izuku froze as he heard a familiar voice cry out in panic. His head swiveled to the direction of the oncoming mech, eyes scanning the rubble around the road before he saw her. Chestnut hair, rosy-cheeks, and the same face from that morning. It was the nice girl. He saw her stuck in the rubble, he turn to look at the girl beside him and saw her leg prevented her from moving as well. He saw teens running by them without a care, no one sparing them a chance to help. Something inside Izuku started to fester. Images of Katsuki stuck inside the Slime Villain, Heros not able to help, Dr. Kuro admitting his hatred of the world, the asshole from earlier running by, All Might initially saying his dream was only a dream, Katsuki being a dick throughout all his life after their early years, and finally all these possible future Heros not helping them. All of this made Izuku angry, angry at the lack of help, angry at himself, angry at everything.
Itsuka Kendo had seen many Heros on tv, many quirks throughout school and her martial arts dojo, but never had she seen green lightning surround a person with glowing red vein-like marks light up a human body. Whatever Izuku's quirk was, it was powerful. Powerful enough that the ground around them compressed into a tiny crater as he disappeared from her sight. If she could see Izuku's face, Kendo would have seen his green eyes light up and become the brightest of blue.
To Izuku, his power output was running on instinct and willpower. "One For All, 100%!!" He jumped high into the air, aiming right for the metal face. "Only one shot, my legs are done for and I know I won't have a second chance if I miss." Izuku said to himself as he went over scenarios in his head, but all that appeared was him missing, the robot crushing the buildings, and the two girls below getting more injured or worse. Never mind losing all his hard earned points. "Stop overthinking for once you idiot! Just end this now!"
Making up his mind, Izuku grabbed the wooden bokken off his back, and did the only thing he could think of. He charged up all of his energy into his arms, hands, and into the wooden weapon. The green energy forced cracks throughout the wood as it crackled and glowed. Raising his arms up above his head, Izuku took a deep breath as he focused and aimed at the target. With a downward swing, he bellowed out "SMAAAASSSHHHH!!!!!"
From everyone else's perspective, it looked like a large flash of emerald light shot everywhere in the sky, followed by a beam of green energy through the robot's lefy shoulder down to its lower-right side. The light from the six "eyes" flickered a bit before everything stopped for a second or two. Suddenly the back side of the robot explode outwards, large metal plates flying away, a large gash having ripped through its frame. The head and right side slid away from the other half before it too fell to the ground below. Many watching the spectacle had a similar thought to one Katsuki Bakugou, 'The fuck?'
