Imperial Capital, several hours before Night Raid makes their assault...
Koukei, Minister of Military Affairs and Dousen, a high ranking member of the Ministry of Finance, stood across from one another over a large table filled with various schematics, legers of recent purchases, and other such paperwork.
Dousen was a rather ugly, fat individual with a chonmage hairstyle, two piercings on the lower side of his right ear and wears a dark blue colored kimono. He is a man whom extorted vast amounts of money from all regions of the Empire, climbing the way to his current post through bribes and payoffs.
Koukei wore what he usually does on duty: The standard Imperial uniform which consisted of a white shirt with necktie and a leather jacket.
"This project the Chairmen has commissioned is turning out to be quite the audacious project." Dousen stated, crossing his arms. "He ordered this months ago, honestly if he didn't provide the finances personally I doubt the Prime Minister would ever approve of all this."
"It never hurts to upgrade our existing defenses Dousen." Koukei replied. "Though gathering the materials for this took quite some time."
"Construction is starting as we speak, if estimates are accurate we should have this project done in a month or two." Dousen said, grabbing one of the various papers off the table and began reading it.
"Still, I am at a loss." He continued after finishing his reading and placing the page carelessly on the table. "How has Chairmen Fuyu acquired such a vast amount of finances to sustain a project such as this and still maintain such a luxurious lifestyle?"
"That is quite simple to find out, if one has the proper intelligence network." A new voice called out toward the pair.
Koukei and Dousen turned their heads towards the source.
Saikyuu, accompanied by Warumo, walked towards the table. The two entered the room without detection, though given the nature of Saikyuu's work it was to be expected.
Saikyuu was a middle-aged man with slick dark hair, a "fu manchu" mustache, glasses and wore the standard Imperial uniform.
This man was Prime Minister Honest's personal aid, the true mastermind behind many of the corrupt bastard's insidious plots, and the man whom established many assassin and espionage groups including Elite Seven and the Group of Terror.
The groups that helped hone the skills of Akame and Kurome.
Warumo was a man with dark, shoulder-length hair, a well built figure and chiseled jawline. He wore a white long jacket with a popped up collar that reached the upper half of his cheeks, dress pants with matching shoes, and had a vast array jewelry on his arms.
He was the Minister of Commerce, a man whom could make or break the Empire's economy overnight as well as affect all those whom have current trading deals with the powerful nation.
The Ministries of Commerce and Finance worked hand in hand.
The latter records the amount of money traveling through the Empire, keep records of how much was where, issued what regions get what tax rates, and so on.
The forward controls the flow of money within, and coming in and out of the Empire in all matter relating to trade and business. They can easily set embargos on any tradable good or foreign countries, set the rate of currency exchange, the market worth of any buyable item, and so on.
As such, Warumo could easily be described as the man whom held the future of the Empire in his hands.
"You simply need to follow the money." Saikyuu finished, stopping beside the table
"I'm surprised you didn't do that of your own accord Dousen" Warumo added with a smile. "After all, following where the money leads is in your job description."
Dousen let out a huff. "That is none of your concern, Commerce."
Saikyuu let out a single chuckle, laying down a file he had tucked underneath his arm upon the already massive amount of papers before him.
"This is a fully written account on all of Chairmen Fuyu's business transactions through the Empire and beyond. Its rather impressive how much revenue the former general is pulling in, more than enough to pay for this extensive project three times over."
"Speaking of revenue," Warumo turned his gaze to Koukei. "How are you faring these days Koukei?"
The Minister of Military Affairs frowned at the Minister of Commerce.
"I'm still recovering from the loss of my warehouses." Koukei replied, referring to the attack on the military district by the mysterious Clockwork several months ago. "Whoever or whatever Clockwork is cost me a lot of money."
"Ah yes the mysterious Clockwork." Saikyuu chimed back in. "The group that cause so many of our own troops to betray ours." He placed a hand upon his chin. "We don't know anything about them aside from their name thanks to their rather colorful...finally. As well as their seemingly impressive ability to be extremely persuasive."
"I'm shocked that even your spy network cannot find out anything more." Koukei said.
"Well when they only have made a public appearance once." Saikyuu said with a shrug. "There was that fire started that the Jagears engaged before, but we have no idea if he is a member of the group or someone acting alone."
Warumo leaned over the table, looking at the various papers and plans. "Ah I remember some of these transactions." He said. "Created quite a bit of revenue for us."
"Yes well, as Saikyuu stated, Fuyu has managed to acquire wealth that rivals all of ours combined." Dousen stated. "Now he choices to spend part of that fortune on such a needless defensive structure such as this."
"From a military standpoint, having an additional grand defense aside from the Capital's last resort is a welcome asset." Koukei cut in. "On a personal level, as long as I nor the state have to pay for it all the better. Fuyu can build whatever he wants so long as he can provide the material and funds."
"Which is the main reason why I have appeared before you gentlemen." Saikyuu said, calling all attention back to him. "I am here in the Prime Minister's stead to give his official approval for Chairmen Fuyu's plan."
"Great. That was the only thing that really prevented us from working on this in earnest." Koukei replied with the clap of his hands.
"Hmph, I still think this is a waste of money." Dousen added, crossing his arms.
"With you, everything is aside from food, alcohol, and women are a waste of money." Warumo replied to the ugly man with a smirk. "You should include in your budget some fine threads. Clothes do make the man after all."
"Looks like the outer walls will be quite noisy for some time." Saikyuu stated. "I'll inform my contacts to adjust accordingly."
Sten stared off against his paired foe Bulat, the two breaking off from one another after a heated exchange of fists. The Rakshasa Demon had utilized his body's unique feature of bending his body in whatever way that he sees fit -an advantage that usually makes easy work of his targets-, and yet this man managed to hold on far longer than all those he had freed thus far.
"You are a stubborn one, aren't you?" Sten stated with a tilted of his head. "I never had to work so hard to free someone's soul before. I say that makes my job all the more worth it."
"You got a twisted sense of rationalizing killing people." Bulat retorted, shacking his head. "That's a real turn off from me, big guy."
Sten raised an eyebrow in a moment of confusion before realizing what he meant. "Ahh, so you are one that is attracted to the same sex." He said in revelation. "That or you are attempting to throw me off with your sudden flirtations."
"Got it in one sweet cheeks." Bulat answered with a wink. "I have to say though, you Rakshasa Demons are all the bit of trouble I've heard about. Glad to know that you guys are so resilient. I fully test out the results of my training on you."
Sten let out a deep, hearty laugh. He spread his arms out to his sides, flashing his teeth in a wide smile. "By all means then, unleash all your might upon this body forged by our special training! Unleash all the strength you have before I release your soul once you have used the last amounts of energy left to you!"
Bulat replied with a smile of his own. "You're gonna regret letting me do this." He slacked his armor's right breast place with his fist. A hidden compartment opened on the back side of his armor, air blew out as what was hidden within was thrown by the pressure.
The proud warrior grabbed the sword that practically slipped into his extended hand, pulling it free from its sheath with his free hand.
"Oh?" Sten raised an eyebrow in mild amusement. "That's a rather flashy way to show a hidden weapon, assassin."
"What can I say?" Bulat said with a chuckle, holding his one-handed sword directly in front of him. "I have a taste for manly theatrics."
As the pair were talking, Lubbock and Mez where continuing their own battle.
The green haired man had set up his wires all around the area they were fighting in, but the Demon managed to catch onto the trick and covered them with her own rapidly produced sweat. Now the tan, damp girl smiled as her chosen opponent cursed at this unnatural ability.
Mez, now with the horse shoes in her hair on the floor, smiled cheerfully at Lubbock's dismay.
"Surprised?" She said. "My sweat is kinda like oil now thanks to all that body manipulation training we went through. Now all your defenses are useless!"
"Yeah you got me there." Lubbock replied. "I can't use my wires when their all heavy like this."
"Haha, I figured as much!" Mez closed her eyes, smiling wide as she let out a laugh. "Now I can crack your skull open."
"Flirting like that, doesn't turn me on at all." Lubbock said, spreading his limbs out in a fighting stance. Mez simply smirked, seemingly disappearing from the green haired man's sight.
She dashed above the man's head in all directions, sometimes seemingly appearing at two places at once. Lubbock looked above, mouth open wide as he found himself completely taken off guard by this superspeed.
At it was this off guard moment that Mez took full advantage of, by delivering a powerful right jab to her foe's torso.
The blow knocked Lubbock off his feet, sending him flying across the room. He landed on his back, a few dozen feet from where he was.
Even with his usual wire made under armor, the young man felt his a few broken ribs. Lubbock coughed up blood. 'I can't...I can't get up!' He mentally screamed, refocusing his gaze on Mez. The latter was smiling, slowly walking towards her down opponent.
Sten held out his arms, welcoming the blow that Bulat was preparing for him. The unique haired assassin held his sword slug over his back.
"Oh with all this suspense it's making me want to free your soul more and more!" Sten stated with a hearty laugh. "Come on, give me your best shot before I get too anxious!"
Bulat smirked in reply. "Coming right up big boy! I like those that get straight to the point!" The muscular man launched toward the Rakshasa Demon, giving a mighty yell. He stepped within Sten's arm reach.
Sten smiled wickedly, eager to take all that Bulat can throw at him before he crushed his hope and liberated his soul. Sten specializes in toughening his body, even if someone managed to deliver a blow that could piece his skin he can easily seal the wound back up.
The only way someone could kill Sten is by damaging his organs or by decapitating him. In either case, he could manipulate his body to avoid either scenario. Though given the direction his foe seemed to be aiming he didn't seem to need to do anything of the sort.
Sten chuckled. 'The fool is aiming for the gap between my neck and shoulder.'
Bulat swung his sword down, veins popping out along his sword arm up to the side of his head as he mustered the strength he gained during his training. He yelled, sword coming into contact exactly were Sten predicted. The Rakshasa Demon flashed his teeth in villainess glee, only for his joy to turn quickly to alarming shock when the sword didn't break against his reinforced skin.
"Wha-" Where the only words Sten managed to get out before the sword cutting through his body was severed in two.
His upper half with head and a single arm spun to his left, mouth coughing out a small bit of blood as his face continued to portray pure shock. The lower half fell toward the right, laying on the floor half on its side and half front word.
"H-how did you?-" Sten's upper half crashed upon the cold floor, releasing the last of the breath in his lungs. His words forever lost as he glared at his foe.
Bulat let out a heavy sigh, wiping the sweat of his brow. He smirked, glad at the results of a satisfying test of his new abilities.
"If you are wondering how such a devilishly good looking guy like myself managed to break through that special body of yours without a Imperial Arms, the answer is simple." The assassin started.
"I put myself through hell after hell, breaking through my limits to reach this newfound strength. I gotta admit though, if I still had Incursio I could've easily done the same with its spear. After all that training, I can cut through anything as strong as steel like it was melted butter with I can get my hands on."
Bulat gave they dying Sten a wink. "Sorry tough guy. Looks like you couldn't last more than a round with me."
Sten's eyes twitched twice, his gaze moving toward the far off celling. 'Heh, damn. I was sloppy.' He thought, what could be called a smirk forming on his lips. His eyes grew heavy, slowly closing off all the light of the world. 'Shame. Since there were so many more souls to free...'
And thus the second member of the current Rakshasa Demons passed on.
Mez, whom had been watching the events unfold, let out a low whistle. "Wow, he killed Sten." She crossed her arms behind her back. "That's really impressive, especially for someone without an Imperial Arms."
Lubbock struggled to support himself on his elbows, allowing himself a quick smile at Bulat's success before refocusing on the foe before him. The enemy assassin was about to finish him off, but decided to focus on the last moments of Sten and Bulat's battle at the last moment.
An unprofessional move that Lubbock would make her pay dearly for.
He threw two daggers at Mez, hoping to catch her in this unguarded moment. "Ahhh I want to fight that guy~" Mez stated at the blades closed in on her.
"It would be so much more fun-" She quickly did a ducking turn, brushing aside one of the daggers still on target with the back of her hand. "-than dealing with this man's desperate movies. Though I guess I should've known better keeping him alive this long in the first place just cause something more interesting it going on." Mez popped her tongue out after that last bit, quickly closing the gap between herself and the injured Lubbock.
Mez grabbed the young man by the the collar of his jacket, raising him up above her head. Lubbock, naturally, grabbed her arm with his hands though he didn't seem to be in much discomfort. He panted heavily, giving the tan girl a good look over for the first time.
"Damn it..." He started. "Why do all the girls I fight look so damn cute? If we weren't enemies, I'd be trying to seduce you right now."
The statement caught Mez my surprise, but she quickly recovered with a laughing smile. "Well I don't hate guys like you, so I might've gone along with it. Too bad though." She formed her free hand into a fist. "Guess we gotta save it for the next life!"
Lubbock gave the tan assassin a smile, the reel on his hand spinning ever so fast. Before Mez could throw her fist forward, she stubbled forward as the two daggers thrown earlier lunged deep in her back. "Huh?" She mouthed, releasing Lubbock as she fell forward.
"I tied my threads to my knifes." Lubbock explained as they fell together. "I reeled them the threads back, and the rest is just physics."
Lubbock managed to finish before the pair collapsed on the floor on top of one another. Mez coughed up blood, spraying on the young man's pants. She struggled to move her arms as the blades managed to land in a part of the muscle set that controlled the limbs.
The green haired man closed her eyes, silently cursing what a waste this was for the first time he had a cute girl laying on him like this. Slowly, Lubbock moved a hand to one of the two daggers, wrapping his fingers around the hilt. He took a breath before pressing the blade further into Mez's back with all the strength he had to offer.
Mez let out a final, short cry, limbs twitching as the dagger sunk in. Tears pored down her face as the last embers of life faded from her eyes.
Lubbock let his hand drop, resting upon the cold ground. "Why does this always happen to me?" He asked aloud, referring to his curse of killing women he finds attractive.
The green haired man turned his head to the sound of approaching footsteps.
Bulat appeared off Lubbock's right, sword resting on his shoulder as he looked over his friend from head to toe. "Well Lubbock, looks like you got what you've always wanted. A cute girl on your arm, and you out of breath from all the exercise."
"This isn't the time to rub in my misfortunes Bulat!" Lubbock managed to yell with surprising strength.
Bulat couldn't help but laugh at his comrade's expense. "I guess not." He said with a smile. "And it looks like you can't do anything else huh?"
"Yeah..." Lubbock admitted, looking away. "I doubt I can stand up right now."
"I see, and that'll be a problem if you are taken hostage..." Bulat muttered, placing his free hand on his hip.
Before Lubbock could reply, his comrade rolled the dead Mez off with his foot then proceeded to pick up Lubbock with his free hand.
"Alright, let's pull back." He said, holding the green haired man across his chest.
Lubbock let out a surprised yell as Bulat manhandled him. Once the buff man had placed the forward to his chest, the green haired man turned his head to look at Bulat's face.
"But everyone-!"
"Will be fine." Bulat cut in. "Trust in our comrades Lubbock." He paused, shifting the latter's body over his shoulder so it would be far easier to move. "And trust in my tender care."
Bulat started to jog back the way they came, he knew he had to be careful once he got outside. There were still enemies out there or so the man believed. It would be tricky if they caught the attention of the Jagears.
Despite Lubbock complaints, Bulat continued on his way thinking about what options he had should the worse come to pass.
Fortunately for these Night Raid members by the time they exited out onto the open all the Jagears had withdraw per General Esdeath's orders just prior.
Of course Bulat had no idea of this, and proceeded with caution until they were far away from the Path of Peace's HQ. Heading towards their team's safehouse as soon as Bulat and Lubbock confirmed they were not being followed and awaited their comrades return.
Some time earlier...
Kurome found herself alone -puppets aside- against half of the infamous Night Raid. Aside to her stood Doya, guns pointed at the two assassins before them. Though one of them -the blond lion like woman- was squaring off against Apeman.
On the balcony was Natala faced off against the another humanoid and the cowboy whom claimed to be Doya's father.
4 vs 4, not bad odds. Better if she was 100 percent.
As such, Kurome knew she had to pace herself as best she could. Otherwise her puppets would disappear.
Kurome knew that reinforcements would come, both for Night Raid and from her fellow Jagears. The only question was when and how many.
At the very least, she no longer had to worry about protecting a VIP anymore.
Kurome called her friend Natala to disengage and join her by Bolic's thrown. Susanoo jumped over the balcony, joining his master's side while Walker reconfigured Lock-On to a rifle configuration and remain on the high ground.
"Doya deal with you dad." Kurome commanded to the puppet, to which the latter moved over to comply. She scanned around the room, instincts telling her to check one last time to see if there was anything she missed.
Her instincts proved true with a 5th unknown figure stood in the shadows of the far left most corner.
"And who is our mysterious guest?" Kurome called out with the tip of her head. Several members of Night Raid eyed the area in question but didn't fully take their focus off the Jagear before them.
The familiar buff form of the tribesman both groups knew stepped out to the light. "A simple observer for the time being." Raryu replied loud enough for all to hear clearly. "The one I seek is not here, thus you all are free to fight to your content." He eyed Najenda specifically at the first part, before returning his gaze to the room in whole. "I shall bare witness to your glory."
"Oh? Just here for the show then?" Leone smirked. "I guess we gotta show off for our guest."
"Stay focused." Najenda replied, though keeping her subordinate's name a secret as her identity was still unknown. "We need to find out were Bolic-"
"Worry not Najenda of Night Raid." Raryu cut in. "All is according to Clockwork's plan. The High Priest Bolic is dead. His fate sealed once he slipped into the tunnels below to slip away like the insect he is."
"What?" Both Najenda and Kurome said in near unison. "Bolic is dead?" The teenager added.
"Indeed. My words are true." Raryu stated. "The High Priest is dead. Night Raid's mission is complete. They can now withdraw."
This was a major problem as it forced Kurome's hand. Seeing as Bolic was the target of tonight's assassination mission, Kurome could fight as a defender against an attacking enemy. Now those roles are reversed, the Jagear had no choice but to attack before they slipped away.
"Fine then." She muttered, holding her sword both hands. "Lets play shall we?"
Najenda whipped around. "Susanoo act as our rearguard! Everyone else fall back and make your way to the rendezvous point anyway you can!"
"Like we'd let you!" Kurome, accompanied by Natala, dashed forward. Susanoo blocked the latter, and the forward was checked by Walker's shots that forced Kurome to back off. Doya moved, firing at her father as he moved in reply.
Apeman roared a challenge, rushing at Leone. It raised its fists above its head once he drew close. Leone snapped a kick upside the Danger Beast's head, fracturing the creature's skull. It collapsed on its side in a heap of muscle and flesh.
"That's one down." She said with a satisfied smirk.
Kurome let out a tisk, she couldn't catch a break today. With Natala occupied with Susanoo, and Doya holding off Walker, she was the only one who could stop the remaining two. Of course she still had her Z class Danger Beast, but to control that puppet required a lot of stamina.
"I won't let you escape!" Kurome shouted, dashing after Najenda. She slashed out, aiming for the leader of Night Raid's back. Walker tried to get of a quick burst of suppression fire, but Doya kept him pinned down and could do nothing but fall back as per his boss's command.
Doya kept watching out for Walker long after he withdrew, both because she didn't know and in case he popped his head out if he changed his mind.
Najenda turned around, blocking the blow with her artificial arm. Leone rushed over, jump kicking the young assassin with a two foot jump kick.
Kurome yelled as she flew a few feet away, landing a bit rough but on two feet. Natala reflexively went to move to his friend's side but Susanoo kept him pined.
"Damn it, they are going to get away!" She painfully yelled, turning herself towards the two Night Raid members.
Leone stepped in her path. "I got this boss, pull back. We'll meet up when we give you the slip."
"Very well." Najenda replied as she turned towards her chosen exit; a set of double doors. The main entrance to Bolic's private throne room.
Kurome dashed forward, her opening blow dodged by Leone. Najenda just about reached the set of double doors when they and the entire wall exploded. Ice spread out in shapes and sizes along the arrayed in a way that made it appear like the battlements of an ice fortress.
"Damn it..." Najenda cursed under her breath, taking a few steps back. A spit in the ice wall formed, cut in half on a vertical slash right were the doors were. They shattered into tiny shards a second after, creating the illusion of a beautiful light reflecting snow shower.
The white haired figure that appeared in the newly formed gap was the last person Najenda or any of Night Raid wanted to see.
"Kurome, I know you can be prideful at times, but do call for backup when you are overwhelmed." General Esdeath stated, gripping the tip of her hat. Her gaze studying those within the room one by one.
"Najenda. It's been too long." She said, settling her eyes upon her old friend last.
"Esdeath." Najenda gave the sadist a half-smile. "Sorry, I was just leaving."
"Oh? Such a shame." Esdeath tilted her head up, smiling. "And here I was hoping we could catch up for lost time."
Directly above this scene, the tribesmen onlooker leaned over the balcony rim taking in all below.
"Finally." Raryu said, allowing himself a rare smile. "The object of my vengeance has arrived."
A few moments earlier...
Akame crouched, approaching her chosen target in silence. Off ahead of her, watching from the balcony was Raryu. To his right and a fair distance away was Tatsumi, currently invisible thanks to Incursio.
Tatsumi was against the order to eliminate the members of Clockwork for they all owe them a growing debt.
Thus Akame had Tatsumi standby off at the side to watch if their fellow assassins need assistance.
She, Mine and Tatsumi actually arrived here several minutes ago, just before Raryu showed up. When the tribesmen arrived, the three of them hid. As they silently went over their options, they heard that Bolic had or would soon be killed.
Then when Najenda, surprisingly taking the word of the Clockwork member and ordered Night Raid to withdraw. In accordance with this, Mine reluctantly decided to retreat to the outside.
"Since we have to escape on foot, I figured it would be best for a genius sniper like me to give you all some cover should you guys have stubborn pursuers." The pink-haired girl said in her usual smug way.
So now they find themselves here; Tatsumi watching the balcony to give any last minute support for his friends should they need and Akame decided to use the opportunity to carry out their other standing objective.
Naturally, she didn't tell Tatsumi of her plans. She knew the young man still had a habit of questioning the reasoning behind orders that conflicted with his moral code.
An issue Akame long since suppressed.
The black wearing assassin crept closer towards the unguarded backside of Raryu, her hands upon the sheath and handle of her Imperial Arms Murasame.
She stepped closer and closer, slowly and quite all the retaining her full focus on the muscular man. Akame kept inching closer until she was sure that she could cut her target within an easy, short, quick step.
There were still enemies below them after all, she didn't want to give away her position just yet.
Before Akame could move, General Esdeath made her grand entrance. Akame bit her lip in frustration, now she and Tatsumi almost certainly needed to intervene in this situation.
First things first however.
The Clockwork agent leaned over the balcony, resting his hands upon it as his gaze almost certainly focused on General Esdeath.
"Finally." Raryu said, allowing himself a rare smile. "The object of my vengeance has arrived."
And that was the que that Akame chose to strike.
She took two lightning steps forward, cutting Raryu clean across his back in a horizontal fashion. She didn't cut deep, there was no need to anyway, for the curse her Imperial Arms carried only needed the smallest nick to work upon the unfortunate target.
To Raryu's credit, he didn't even flinch at the blow.
Sure enough, the curse marks of Murasame branched out from the open wound upon Raryu's back. Oddly enough, there was no blood coming from the wound.
Akame paid no mind to this as the curse marks rapidly raised towards Raryu's heart. They just about covered all of the tribesmen's back when they suddenly stopped.
The young assassin raised her eyebrows, this had never happened before! Just as surprising, the markings began to reverse speed, quickly returning to the wound that they originated from.
Only there wasn't a wound anymore.
It didn't just heal quickly, it was like she never struck him to begin with! Akame took a step back, about to try again despite the questions swirling in her head when Raryu spoke to her.
"You seemed to be puzzled." The tribesman stated, easily reading Akame's bewilderment. "Quite the conundrum before you, isn't it?"
He turned around to face the unfaced looking Akame.
"Astonished why your Imperial Arms, the infamous One-Hit Killer, which as served you thus far without fail, suddenly seemed to falter against myself?" Raryu continued, pointing to the katana in question.
"The answer is simple, assassin of Night Raid."
Raryu raised a hand up to his face, with two fingers he covered his left eye.
"Your sword's curse does not work...on those whom are already dead." He grimly spoke, pulling back his two fingers to reveal a shocking truth to Akame.
Looking back her now with a different colored eye, Raryu calmly studied as even the poker faced Akame couldn't help but gasp at what she now seen.
The agent of Clockwork's left eye changed into an all too familiar shade of yellow.
The shade and pupil shape she had seen on many members of this rival organization.
The all to familiar eyes of a snake.
AND HERE ENDS ANOTHER ENTRY TO AKAME GA KILL CLOCKWORK AFTER ANOTHER DAMN YEAR
I am so sorry this took another year to get out again. I have wayyyy too much going on and not enough time to do them all.
In fact, I ended this entry a lot sooner than I originally planned, but rest assured I'll be working on the conclusion of this arc ASAP.
I'm glad I have at least one a week to write now, unlike before all this. Motivation still comes and goes unfortunately, but we all do what we can.
Also note that we are over 17.5K views thus far. DAMN, this is my most view story to date! I thank you all for reading this story of mine.
I can say that, as things are planned out, with the conclusion of this arc (next entry) we will be halfway done with Akame ga Kill Clockwork. Hell of a ride huh? But enough of this, onto the entry itself.
I threw in a few key items that'll be in play further down the road, as well as give Dousen, Warumo, and Saikyuu a moment to shine aside from their roles of screaming and/or dying as in the manga.
I especially think that Saikyuu needs a much grander part overall.
This man is aide to Honest after all, and he's the brains behind the children assassination groups. He basically MADE Akame and Kurome into what they are today due to this brainchild. Thus I believe he should be presented as a lot more mysterious and cunning than his short role in the manga.
Oh and trust me, I gave him that and more which you shall see later on.
We see the conclusion of Lubbock and Bulat's fight with the Sten and Mez, kept part of it true to the manga battle so we still got Lubbock's moment in there :D
And lastly we have the bulk of Night Raid squaring off against Kurome, her puppets, and now GENERAL ESDEATH (gasp). How will this play out now that they are boxed in?
Also the secret to Raryu's seemingly invulnerable self is finally revealed! Not explained in detail yet, but that's coming. How many of you can guess what the details are I wonder?
What will Night Raid do now that the fearsome Esdeath has them cornered? Will Clockwork bail them out once more, or will these assassins manage to evade the general without assistance? Find out the conclusion to this night of surprising events as we conclude this chapter next time!
