A/N: Short and simple. How can you not love these two?
The white cliffs of Dover were a sight to behold, even on the worst of days. To sit on the edge of the coast and watch as the clouds rolled by, all while listening to the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore below, was as good of a treat as any in Eruka's humble opinion. The smell of the ocean tickled her nose as she drank in the salty sea air, filling her lungs to the brim before releasing it all in a sigh of content.
It was a tried and true method, this therapeutic outing: a much-needed change of pace after all the madness caused by recent events.
Still, there was something that didn't sit quite right with Eruka: a question that had been on her mind for quite some time now.
"Hey, Free?" the frog-girl said as she watched the horizon. "Why are you still here?"
"Huh?"
Glancing over her shoulder, Eruka watched as the wolf-man's expression shifted in confusion. For such a tall, imposing figure, he sure didn't seem all that scary with that clueless look on his face.
"Medusa is gone now." Eruka stated simply as she turned back to face the ocean. "The kishin's been defeated. You even managed to get old Mabaa to drop her grudge over that eye you stole!"
"Yeah, so?"
Eruka paused for a moment.
"What I'm saying is: You're free to go wherever you want now!" she explained as she pushed herself off the ground and turned to face him. "Isn't there some place you wanna go?"
For a moment, Free's eyes widened in a look of understanding, only to close as the muscular wolf-man burst out in a guffaw.
"What are you talking about, Eruka?! I've been Free ever since you busted me out of that old prison cell!" Turning back to face the ocean, the wolf-man continued. "I'm exactly where I want to be right now!"
Taken aback by his answer and the implication that came with it, Eruka proceeded to clutch her skirt as a wave of heat rushed to her face.
"Wh-what the hell is that supposed to mean?" she demanded, her eyes nailed to the ground for fear of meeting his own.
"It means I go wherever I want!" Free answered simply. "And right now, I can't think of any other place I'd rather be than right here with you!"
