~Calm before the Storm~
Emma felt victorious. Despite his best efforts, she'd convinced him to take her back to the forest's edge. He wasn't pleased, that tendon in his jaw flexing as he kept his anger to himself. She knew he felt like they had been this close to finding the king's bedchamber, which he was only looking for because he thought there was some passage connecting it, to wherever the rings were made. Having not found any such passage in the stateroom, his second best guess was the bedchamber.
But Emma had started to feel eyes upon her, even though Killian had been walking in front of her and they were, clearly, alone in the castle. Aside from that, it was getting dark and they hadn't eaten for several hours.
Mostly, she was anxious to get out of there. Not that she told him that.
They'd nearly gotten lost on their way out of Blackthorn, but managed to retrace their steps in time to make it back to the forest's edge right when the colors started to appear in the sky, her favorite time of day.
Remembering where they'd found the herbal provisions earlier had made the trek that much faster, and they speedily gathered, ate, and managed to climb the pair of trees and get into their nets before the sun was gone completely.
