Chapter One
There was a tree centered in the garden of the Northern Realm's palace. A ginkgo tree covered in ice and frost, yet it is able to survive the sheer cold of the realm because of the frost and ice. There was a girl standing in front of the giant tree. She held her hands as if she were praying to the tree. Some say that this tree was where the original leaders of this land were buried. A master of Frost and Ice. Two people who were created alongside the one known as the first.
There is a legend in this world, known as Ninjago. That it was created by someone named the First. A being from a different realm. A being born of destruction and creation. This being created his own realm, and his own world. He was the first to create his own realm. And as he created his own world, he created his own guardians. Six Guardians. Six warriors. And it is believed two of these warriors were buried beneath the Ginko tree of the Northern Realm. The Warriors of Frost and Ice.
"Are you going to be praying to the Ginkgo tree all day Sister?"A voice said from behind her.
The girl jolted, kinda pissed. "Well, as Heir to the throne I must keep up appearances to the first ones. If I don't, our lands would be plagued by the frozen blizzards." She said turning around, her gray kimono flowing around her. "So why don't you tell me what you are doing, Zane?" She asked walking up to her blonde haired brother, who was cloaked in white.
"Well I was coming to look for you. Mother and father wanted to see you. It's about your betrothal." Zane said.
"Great…" She whispered as she walked over. "I like Lloyd and all… But I don't think I would want to marry him." She looked at her brother as they walked.
"I know all too well Shimo. But it is our duty as the royal heirs to do our part in leading our realms one day. You will be leading the Middle realm as Princess consort, and one day Queen." He said walking beside her throughout the halls.
"But what if I don't want that."
"We all have our parts to play, Shimo."
The two approached the doors to the great hall, having two guards posted outside. They bowed to the Princess and Prince and opened the doors to them. As they entered they saw their parents. Lord Julien, and Lady Faith. Sitting at the head of the table.
"Mother. Father." Shimo said as the two bowed to their parents.
Julien and Faith smiled. "Come sit. It is time we discuss your betrothals." Faith said with a kind smile. Shimo just nodded as she sat down next to her mother and across from her brother.
"So… As you know. These betrothals are being made to strengthen the alliances of the northern realm with the middle and southern realm." Julien said.
"I know father." Shimo said quietly, looking down. "I know it's important. But What if I don't want this."
"Shimo. It has to happen… If we don't, our alliances will fall apart." Julien said, looking at his daughter.
"It is something that has been tradition in our lands for generations. If our alliances fall apart, war could break out." Faith said, taking her hand.
"But that hasn't happened for a hundred years!" Shimo shouted standing up.
"Shimo…" Zane said in a warning tone.
"Our Alliances have been strong for years! We dont need betrothals! You two have been planning my marriage to Lloyd since I was a kid! We dont need this!" Shimo shouted. "What if I dont want this!"
"SHIMO!" Julien shouted standing up. "This is what needs to happen! This is tradition! You must play your part."
"But what if i DONT want this." She said, tears welling up in her eyes. "Because I dont want this. I dont wanna marry Lloyd. Im not even royal blood, father." She whispered before leaving the room.
"Shimo!" Faith shouted.
Julien just groaned and held the bridge of his nose.
