Chapter 30: Fresh Horror After Halloween (Part 1)
[Note: Taking place after Defenders of the Creek]
[Shadows Residence, Neo Bayview, Outer Towns]
Before the recent news reports, Saki had hit nothing but dead ends. He had checked the other infected zones except for the Boneyard only to turn up empty. The news report only chose to make him even more stressed. He had felt bad for soon to be former President Strong. Her supporters were frothing at the mouth at the results, but he had bigger issues as turned off the television in his home. He asked Ryker to arrange a call to Joshinari and the Kage of the Ghetto Ninja was on his line.
"I want answers." Saki said trying to hold back his anger.
"Sure, you do. Those cultists came to me asking me to join, but I told them no and warned them that I found a single trace of those fuckers on my land or any of their fusions, I'd kill them all myself. There's a reason they're staying only in the America. But you want the information on leadership, it may be pointless to you as they are enemies of my little bartender brother and his group." Joshinari mused. "I do happen to know the whistleblower."
"A spy of yours?" Saki coldly said.
"No, but I wanted them to join my village. Sadly, she only works for herself. Keeping neutral like in the old days of mine…thought she's only doing it for the sake of her sister. You do know her sister…but let's get to the main point. I do have a spy in their ranks, and I got information. But I want a trade for it." Joshinari said as Saki snarled at him. "I just want some DNA that your Omnitrix can provide."
"Hell no!" Saki barked.
"Saki…come now, I don't want your pitiful watch. I just want Nosedeenian DNA." Joshinari mused as Saki looked concerned. "And don't ask why. You want the information I have? You'll grant my request."
"Fine. Where's the drop point?" Saki asked.
"I'll make it easy for you. Eternal Vistas, you'll find my spy in the graveyard. Come with a team, but don't involve the Crystal Squadron or the Plumbers. So, don't bring Kevin or Gwen with you either. She'll be seeing you soon." Joshinari said hanging up.
"I hate that asshole so much." Saki said as Mandy put a hand on his shoulder. "I know…but who am I going to get to go?"
"Why not get KND agents to go with you?" Mandy suggested. "Once we explain to Kuki and Wally, they can help us."
"Ok, but we'll need Kevin and Gwen out of the way." Saki remarked.
"I got that handled. I'll take those two to investigate IZs in the Wilds." Mandy said leaving the house.
Saki sighed and called up Kuki. To say she hated this was an understatement as he was lambasted with the risk of dealing with the atagonistic Blackthorn. However, she did agree to send Saki with backup through one of their newer sectors. He hung up and get his gear in order.

[Sector CH, Outer Towns]
"We're getting our first mission within the Core, already?" Craig said excitedly.
Sector CH had certainly grown with new members in Craig's younger sister, Jessica and the Green Poncho. Though, the Green Poncho was more of lone wolf KND operative and was only counted as a technicality.
"Yes, this is normally unusual, but dire times require your group for this top-secret mission. Your mentor can not be informed about it or come with you under any circumstances." Kuki said firmly. "Understood?"
They nodded.
"Good, you are to come to Sector V at once. Numbuh 808 will come to pick your team. Be armed and be ready." Kuki said. "Read your dossier on your way there. Den Mother out."
They all found it concerning they all could not tell Connie, but they would not in risk of their membership. Before long, the four were picked up by Numbuh 808's S.C.A.M.P.E.R. and taken to the Core at last. They were all starstruck to see it before being taken to Sector V.

"Welcome to Sector V." Numbuh 808 said opening the door for them.
The out of town sector simply marveled at the massive treehouse on a floating platform that floated over the neighboorhood.
"Attenion." An operative said getting the sector's attention. "Sector CH, I have come to inform you that your mission is waiting for you in Hero Square down below in the neighboorhood."
"Then why take us up here?" Jessica asked.
"Don't you want the leftover Halloween candy? We have a surplus." The operative said pointing to the sack of candy. "Our Den Mother suggested you have it."
Craig snatched that bag up as the operatives pointed to the zipline that led down to the Hero Square which Sector CH rode down.
"Oh man, this is awesome!" Jessica wailed.
"Isn't this ruined a bit because we can fly?" J.P. said as everyone glared at him. "Sorry."
As they arrived in Hero Square, they found Saki standing and waiting for them at the end.
"You must be Craig. I am Saki Shadows, the head of Fusion Force. I assume they gave you a dossier." Saki remarked as they nodded. "Good, then we can start the mission."
"Which is?" Kelsey asked.
"An escort." Saki said pointing to the nearby Capsule Plane. "Get in and I'll explain on the way."
Saki and the team piled on as Saki took off from the Hero Square. Once in the air, he cleared his throat and put the plane on autopilot.

"Allow me to explain the mission. I'll be delivering a cansister of DNA to a…special target in exchange for some important intel. Though with the fact we'll be doing this near the last Infected Zone to investigate, you'll be joining me for that too. Understood?" Saki said as Jessica raised a hand. "Yes? Numbuh…"
"Oh…that's 8.03, but just call me Jessica." Jessica remarked. "My question was why pick us?"
"Because I couldn't exactly use my teammates for this one. Sometimes…you have to deals with metaphorical devils." Saki bemused. "I'll give you the lowdown. We're going to meet a spy from the Hidden Village in the Ghetto…a band of ninjas."
"Tell me you're joking." Craig said as Saki had a stony look. "Oh…."
"And it's led by one of the Blackthorn family." Saki continued.
"Aren't they a revered clan of heroes? Sensei works under one." Kelsey stated as Mortimer chirped.
"Yes and no. The truth is a bit muddier than that. They do have a villain in their family which is Joshinari, the Kage of that Village. He is…someone you should watch your back around. While…somewhat a villainous neutral, he'll make use of anyone he can for gains. The snake." Saki remarked.

Though Forever Fallen, But Never Forgetton
The massive grave marker in decidation for those who fell and fight for the Fusion War of the old world. The memorial crafted meticulously by the veterans of those who still lived to honor their losses. With a list of names, a few photos, and flowers surrounding the marker; it was a place of remembrance. One that was fiercely protected by the Fusion Force (and the other veterans). Thus, not many people visiting said site…but there was one figure in all black that snowy day.
"You have ten seconds to explain why you're here. And turn the hell around." Saki said having his Hog Wild Handgun at the back.
Sector CH had their weapons.
"Just paying my respects."
She turned around revealing herself to be Himiko Toga.
"Besides, I know you'd look here." Himiko said with a smirk. "You have the DNA?"
Saki handed off the cansister before asking about the information he was promised. Saki was handed a flash drive which he pocketed.
"Pleasure being business…and a bit of a warning, go to the Boneyard. The cult's active there as we speak. For what? It's best you find that out yourself." Himiko said before using a smoke bomb to pull an escape.
[Music Ends]
"I could try a s…" Jessica said only for Saki to cut her off with, "No time. She's the least of our problems. Team, we're going on ahead."
As Saki and the team moved towards the Boneyard, Himiko was already leaving the Vistas while on the phone.
"Seems Joshinari jipped Saki into handing over alien DNA. No, don't worry…the information he got is real. Joshinari was planning to give him little information to go on, but I made sure Saki got plenty to share. I'll tell the Kage there was a mix up on the Intel. Of course, I'll return the village right away…Madame President. And sorry about losing the election." Himiko said going into an alley and vanishing.
(A/N: I had to split this chapter up because I have a B Plot I want to give it's own chapter. Peridot's now President….but that's not the end of the soon to be former President. She'll be around. I also wanted to finally introduce the grave marker that would be there in honor those lost to Fusion Force, as I felt it was a long time coming. Fun fact, Saki even does what Kakashi does in spending time there to reflect.)
