A few minutes later, I watched as the Lords entered my tent. One by one they entered, until eventually they had all arrived. Inside was Lord Tywin Lannister, and Lord Lord Eddard Stark, Lord Edmure Tully, Ser Barristan and Lord Randyll Tarly, Lord Kevan Lannister, Lord Westerling, Lord Greatjon, Lord Bolton, Lord Tytos Blackwood and Lord Jonas Bracken. And after asking if he could, Robb Stark was also sitting in on the meeting. Once they had all gathered around the large map of the Westerlands which had been placed on a plain wooden table, I asked for silence. "My Lords", I began, "It is time for us to finally strike upon our foes. After having some time to think, I have decided that we shall continue with Lord Bolton's idea of slowly launching raids against them to draw them towards the natural entrapment at Silver Hall. To do this we need a group of men of around 50, and also someone to lead them."

"Your Grace, who shall be leading the men?" Asked Lord Tytos cautiously.

"I have not made a decision on that. l thought perhaps that one of my Lords would volunteer?"

There were some silent glances between the Lords before the Greatjon stood up and declared loudly, "If these southern cunts are too cowardly then I'll do it!" Before adding a few moments after, "Your Grace."

I laughed despite myself. "Thank you for your enthusiasm, Lord Umber. Alas, I was hoping for someone a bit more... subtle." I grinned and he laughed uproariously. "Does no one have any suggestions?" I asked with a frown on my face.

Once again there was silence. It looked as if I would have to choose myself. "Ok then, Lord Robb, you shall lead the men." He looked up in shock. "I saw how you fought when I visited Winterfell; I know you are an able swordsman and I have confidence in your ability to lead men. You shall be able to choose who goes with you. Go now, pick them and bring them here, I would like to speak to you all before you leave."

Lord Eddard looked at his son and murmured something to him that I couldn't hear, Robb then stood up and left the tent.

I then looked around the room, the Lords looked as shocked as Robb, Lord Tywin then spoke up, "Your Grace, are you sure giving command to someone so young is wise?"

"Are you questioning my son's ability, Lord Lannister?" Eddard replied heatedly but I cut in before any more words could be exchanged.

"Yes, Lord Tywin, I have seen his abilities, as I said, and you have to give people command at some point, how else do people learn?" He didn't look convinced, but he didn't raise the point any further, Lord Stark also seemed content, now that I had defended Robb.

"Now, my Lords, we should discuss what we should do if this doesn't work."

"My Lord?" Queried Lord Blackwood.

"If the plan doesn't work." Replied Lord Bracken in a tone that betrayed what he thought of the Blackwood Lord.

"My Lords, can we please not forget that we are on the same side!" I intervened. "I care not about whether you like each other or not, I care about our side winning, after we have conquered Renly, then and only then can you go back to your petty squabbles. Until then, can we please work together!" They at least had the good grace to look ashamed. "Now then", I sighed. "If the plan somehow fails, whether that be because they see through our guise, or the raiding party gets captured or, gods forbid, worse" -Eddard blanched- "then we need a contingency plan."

Lord Edmure spoke up, "Is there no way we could attack them as they are?"

"It would be a huge risk," Lord Tarly responded. "We would need to catch them by surprise and even then, the odds would be in their favour."

The mood in the room went somber for a moment before Lord Blackwood spoke up, "What about the Ironborn?"

"Lord Harlow wrote to me before we set off, they have refused to come to our aid." I explained.

"Fucking Ironborn." The Greatjon murmured.

After a few more moments of silence, the flap of the tent opened, and a guard entered and informed me of Robb's return.

"My Lords, let us adjourn for now, we needn't worry at the moment anyway, we have time to think it through." The lords all stood bowed and left the tent.

I then left the tent and addressed the gathered men; I saw a few faces I thought were familiar but I couldn't put names to faces. "In case Lord Robb hasn't informed you of why you're here, let me tell you. You have been chosen by Lord Robb to go and raid the Tyrell encampment, destroy what you can: food and supplies and the like, burn tents, kill horses; do whatever you can to frustrate their war effort. Take a few men out if you can but that shouldn't be your primary goal. The most important thing right now is do not get caught. Try not to kill innocents or people who are not part of their army but if someone spots you and you have no other option then you may, it would obviously be much better if you don't have to though, so be careful. Men, I have faith in you, you can leave as soon as Lord Robb is ready. Lord Robb please stay."

Once the men had dispersed to prepare, I spoke to Robb. "Lord Robb, I know you may not feel ready, but I have placed this responsibility on you for a reason. I trust you to do a good job, you've been taught by one of the best men I know in your father, and I know you can do this."

"Thank you, Your Grace, I will try and prove you right." He replied.

"I know you will Robb. May the Old Gods and the New look out for you." I nodded at him and turned away, I just hoped he would succeed.

POV Change

The party had ridden hard for Cornfield and had stopped a few miles away in a wooded location, which provided good natural protection against being spotted. Robb had ordered the men to rest for a night before they set out for the camp of the pretenders.

The next night just as the sun set, Robb collected 45 of the 50 men he'd brought with him, (all of whom were from the North and Riverlands) and set off for the encampment, the remaining five staying behind to keep watch of their camp, just in case. They rode on horseback, at a reasonably fast pace, staying off the roads and trying to stick within the wooded areas. Soon they had the encampment in sight, they dismounted their horses and left them tied up a fair distance away, so as to not arouse attention.

"Right, we'll split up into groups of three. Warrek, Traven, and I will lead the groups, go and destroy what you can and fuck stuff up if you can't destroy it. If you see anything you want, if it's not too bulky or heavy, you can take it. Remember, stay out of sight and be back here by the time the moon hits the top of the sky, or we'll go without you, and that goes for my group too. If we're not back when the moon hits the top of the sky, go without us. Split up now and go.

Robb allowed his men to form into groups and as soon as the numbers were relatively equal, he set off. His group of thirteen crept around the edge of the camp, trying to stay in the shadows. They stayed low until they spotted a wooden cover shielding what looked to be an assortment of tools. He sent a few men over and they lit the wood on fire with their flint and steel (which all of the men had been given) the group went in further and also set alight chests containing fruit and vegetables which had obviously been brought in from the Reach. They carried onwards and reached more food stores, this time preserved meats, they once again set this on fire before moving on. The pattern continued, with the men either burning or simply destroying everything useful that they came across, so long as there weren't too many Stormlanders or Reachmen around. After the first few fires, the enemy camp caught on that something was wrong and started to become more alert, it seemed that Renly had started getting men to patrol the perimeter of the encampment, so Robb and his men became more cautious themselves. Luckily, they were not caught.

After an hour or so of destroying tools and weapons and killing horses in unmanned field stables, they headed towards the outskirts of the camp again and headed towards their rendezvous. They were around halfway their when they heard screaming. Robb looked towards the source of the noise and saw a large plume of smoke. It looked as if one of the teams had successfully reached the main camp, where the majority of soldiers were housed. He thought for a second of the horrors the men would be suffering, with no where for them to seek shelter from the elements before he shook it off. Yes, it would be horrible, but this is war, and they were soldiers. At least they weren't innocent civilians, these men knew what they were getting into. He himself knew he still wasn't entirely convinced however.

By the time they had reached the meeting point the moon was nearing its height and the fire looked to have been put out, though he didn't know the extent of the damage. Warrek and Traven were already there and once they'd started on their way back to camp, Robb asked them how well their raid had been.

"It went well Mi'lord, we got countless of weapons stores and food and the like, it looks as if Traven's group got the tents as well." Warrek spoke.

"Aye I saw that, well done men." Robb replied.

He just hoped it would be enough.

A/N

Finally! Sorry about the wait but I had a severe case of writer's block and I was also really busy with school but finally I have got a chapter out. I hope you enjoyed it!

Also, to address an error I made, a few chapters ago I said that it was Jon who had come with Eddard. I apologise, I meant Robb, I did try to go through my PMs to see who informed me but I couldn't find who it was (they know who they are, and thank you for telling me).

Please do stay safe during these challenging times, listen to the WHO and your government's advice. Hey, if you're in lockdown like I am, it gives you more time to read my fanfics!

Leave a review (I always reply) the next chapter will be up ASAP.

Stay safe everyone!
