Ruby and Yang's Commentary of The King and I (Part 2 - Final)

Ruby and Yang come back into the room, still wearing their normal Beacon apparel, the former saying, "Look, we were going to change our outfits for the remainder of the review, but we decided to move along with our normal Beacon attire. Now that's out of the way, we can move on.", with Ruby continuing, "So in keeping with the theme of put as little attention on our main characters as possible, the King sings about the changes of the world and where he belongs in it. But also while giant killer STATUES come to destroy him.", scoffing, "Thank God, I almost thought this song served a purpose."

"But it's okay, because the comedic panther discovers quickly what can stop them... A roar.", Yang said as the two saw the scene at the end of the King's song A Puzzlement, where the King's panther roars at the giant moving statues as the spell seemingly was broken due to it, "You heard right. A roar. Why is it this wizard's powers seem to be defeated by the lamest things? It's like if Kralahome was like, 'Now I will send in the powerful Godzilla! Oh, no! Somebody sneezed softly! Well, next I will send in the massive Rodan! Oh, no! Somebody ate a Mentos! Well, this time I'm sending in the horrifying aliens! Oh, no, they're undone by the tiniest creatures that God in his wisdom put on this Earth, our diseases! Oh, I'm a bad wizard!'", as Ruby laughed cutely to this joke.

The silver-eyed girl adds, "We'd add more lyrics to his Grinch song, going; 'You're an idiot, Kralahome... You need to up your game...!'", synopsizing; "So the king gets a letter saying the British are coming to kick him out because they think he's a barbarian. Doesn't that technically make it truth?" as she and Yang were confused by the scene where the King argues to Anna about the British calling him a barbarian, analyzing; "So they decide, rather than fight the British, they'll charm them by showing he's not a barbarian and by hosting a big party.", the next part showing a glowing vision of a dancer starts to appear during a later scene with Anna.

"What the hell?", consterned Ruby's blonde sister watching the part with Ruby where a glowing vision of a dancer completely appears right before Anna's eyes (in a Star Wars force spirit-esque manner) before the latter sang Shall We Dance in a slow waltz, "Well, we'll be! Sire, she's dancing with her musical schizophrenia again!", retorting; "So, is this like what dead Jedi do when they come back from the grave and want a nice night out? We'd die to see if Obi-Wan Kenobi made a cameo in this one! And what makes it even crazier is that the King is just watching her dance with nothing! Just remember, guy, this is the woman who's going to show everyone you're not crazy."

Ruby continues, "So the British arrive, and you know it's the British because they literally play their national anthem every single time they're onscreen, and everything seems to be going well until he discovers that his son has given away a sacred piece of jewelry to one of the servants.", as the next snippet examples the prince Chulalongkorn discussing to the king privately when he told the news, as the latter follows his eldest son out of the dining room as Anna follows the king in suspicion; the king asks 'who' three times to the prince, which Ruby and Yang were both surprised when watching this part, "What?", watching the part all over again, "Okay, your Daffy Duck impersonation's really gonna need some work. But honest to Gods, we'd be happy if Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the other Looney Tunes characters would've appeared in this story. Somebody should definitely make a Looney Tunes/King and I crossover!"

"Ruby, I think you broke the fourth wall.", says Yang a few moments later, as they watch the scene where the king discovers Tuptim and Chulalongkorn's secret yet forbidden romance as the former threatened to whip her in a fit of rage, "Um, this might be really inappropriate, but seeing how this is a Rankin/Bass production, during this scene...would it be okay to play the When There's a Whip, There's a Way song from The Return of the King?", carrying on; "Oh, if you know the story, you know he can't bring himself to do it, but when he does order her to be sent back to Burma, the prince and her escape and try to run away."

The leader of team RWBY states when they saw another scene with Kralahome and Master Little (as the former's clothes changed in different cuts), "You know, guy, you keep coming up with these complicated ways to seize power. Have you ever thought about just going up to a really powerful nation and being like, 'Dragons! I can make dragons! Gimme all your shit!'", before saying, "So the servant falls into the Pepsi-Cola river, but luckily, the King has his air balloon to try and save the day.", while the two see the king rescuing Tuptim in his hot air balloon after saving his son.

""Would've been a bit funny if he said, 'I must save her so I can give her proper whipping!'", the blonde huntress joked before picking up, "Unfortunately however, Kralahome sets the balloon on fire while the King is still inside.", as they saw Kralahome's clothes change again for a moment as he shoots down the hot air balloon with fireworks (although Tuptim, the panther and Chulalongkorn fell into the water when the balloon was falling), and Kralahome was celebrating his victory before he sees Sir Edward and the guards sternly looking at him after seeing what he did as Kralahome tries making an excuse, "So the family goes to look over the damage."

Ruby sorrows when they watch the scene where the panther tries to awaken the King by licking him as one of the King's children cries and the panther then roaring in despair as it appears to have no effect, "Well, the panther has given his prognosis. He's definitely dead, folks.", before she climaxed when the King appears to be alive in the scene, "So, he apparently lives in this version, Chulalongkorn and Tuptim are allowed to fall in love, Kralahome and Master Little get their punishment, and Anna even seems to stay behind."

Yang concludes as the king and Anna dance in the final scene of the movie, "You could make the argument that this is totally spitting in the face of history, but the other versions seem to do that already. This is more a scrotum-shaving of history. Painful, insulting and not nearly short enough.", before the movie fades to black; "And we think those are the perfect words to describe this movie overall."

Ruby and Yang both say their overall review of The King and I;

"Whether you like the original musical or not, we think everyone can agree this is beyond a serious downgrade. The child-friendly additions are so painful and so out of place that we keep expecting to see the Saturday TV Funhouse logo pop up from SNL. We've learned more about Thailand by eating at a Thai restaurant. It cares nothing for its main characters and instead wants to focus on its comedic side characters, which, even then, aren't really that developed either! And when we get down to it, it doesn't even make any sense. Why make a kid-friendly version of something like this anyway? Did they really think there was gonna be a big enough crowd for it?"

Ruby concluded, "All I can say is, you won't see me trying to cash in on some dying musical fad. I'm Ruby..."

"...and I'm Yang."

"We both remember it so you don't have to.", both said as they finished their review, getting up and leaving their commentary chairs.
