In this eighteenth non-canon review, Ruby and Yang review one of Pixar's innovative animated films, Cars, as the two eventually hopes if it does live up to it's name.

Original Story and Entirely Written by Myself

BEACON

"Hello, I'm Ruby..."

"...and I'm Yang."

"We remember it so you don't have to.", both of them said.

Ruby then began, "Pixar has made some very innovative ideas by far. This ranges from toys, bugs, monsters, fishes, superheroes, cooking, robots, flying houses, cars, even a princess! But the stories they mostly...", before thinking of The Good Dinosaur and Cars 2, "...mostly tell always have the same heart-touching potential that Disney has incorporated throughout the years. They always find some amazing new ideas to maintain their creative industry in films, shorts and the techniques of animation, and all of their theatrical films always make effort to make us cry for an emotional inten and yet, it still does to this day with Onward and Soul. Alongside other animation studios like Disney, Dreamworks and Illumination, animated films in a way will never stop conveying emotions."

"And what we're talking about today is one of Pixar's supposedly most original and crowning achievements, Cars.", Yang introduced.

Ruby and Yang's Commentary of Cars (Part 1)

The leader of team RWBY explains, "Directed by former Pixar chief John Lasseter, who also did the first two Toy Story movies, A Bug's Life and Cars 2, this was the final film independently produced by Pixar themselves before Disney's acquisition of the studio about five months before the film's release. It focuses on a very unique and creative idea on anthropomorphic cars that pose as both people and vehicles. And even by the promotional marketing standards, they treat this idea as if it's a brand new automobile. Hell, the teaser poster even seems to treat it as a new car."

"Despite this, Cars features the maintaining spirit of racing films, which would later on be influenced for Turbo. So seeing how colorful and interesting it is, we do hope it has the high-octane action it needed to succeed.", Ruby's sister stated, "Let's see if we have enough nitrous oxide to keep us entertained, this is Cars."

Cars

Ruby starts off, "The film opens up with the main character Lightning McQueen, played by Owen Wilson, is preparing for the final race of the season through his inner monologue.", watching the scene where Lightning McQueen says 'I am speed... I eat losers for breakfast', "He could add, 'Especially when they're part of a nutritious breakfast.'", continuing, "It turns out that the racers involved in the championship has three racers tied with the season point lead, including McQueen, who is a rookie sensation; Chick Hicks, played by Michael Keaton, who is a veteran second banana racer who tries to cheat to win; and Strip Weathers, also known as The King, played by NASCAR driver Richard Petty, who is a multi Piston Cup-winning veteran racer from Dinoco who is planning to retire at the end of the season."

"Great, we got a NASCAR driver ironically playing a car. Plus, he is a legend.", nodded Yang, "The final race of the championship does start off, with Hicks causing a major car-wreck for the majority of the other racers. Who the hell gave him the idea to cheat like that? Junior Johnson?", resuming, "McQueen however manages to survive this and does a mid-air slo-mo impression.", seeing the part where McQueen sees two female car fanatics cheering for him as he looked and winked at them, "'Call me whenever when the race is over...!'"

The red-black-haired huntress then said, "Over dozens of laps, McQueen takes the lead to the point where he's almost behind the other racers WITHOUT changing his tires! Wouldn't it be helpful if he changed his tires every once in a while? Luck may falter on him if he doesn't.", summarizing, "But unfortunately in the final lap, his tires blew out as he, Hicks and The King cross the finish line, ending up with a three-way tie. This results in a tiebreaker race that will be held in California in one week's time."

When the next part of the movie shows Lightning promoting a Rust-eze commercial, which looks similar to the precommercials from the 2000's, the blonde sister says, "'Order right now and you get a free Sham-Wow with every purchase!'", continuing, "Lightning leaves with his friend Mack on route to California, as a pop song plays in the background that you swear you remember it from the back of your head.", the film showing this scene with the song Life is a Highway playing as Yang made her own lyric during the song, "The movie has its way...of having road trips of this song...'", synopsizing, "Unfortunately during one night of the trip, four neon nitro cars cause Mack to mistakenly send Lightning out of the vehicle, which also causes him to search for Mack as he ends up in Route 66, but not before a police car starts chasing him.", the next snippet showing McQueen hearing gunshots seemingly as he thought the police car was shooting him but the police car's exhaust pipe was actually sputtering, with him saying to himself that he didn't go this fast in years.

"'Ever since that last drag race I did back in '85...'", mocked Ruby, commenting, "Lightning then lands in a small town called Radiator Springs, accidentally causing damage to the road and several storefronts and gets arrested for it. The next day, news reports about McQueen's disappearance, as we see some celebrity cameos, everybody! Yeah! Celebrities parodied as cars, without their voice actors! You have Mario Andretti, Jay Leno, even Arnold Schwartzenegger! As if it weren't enough.", continuing nevertheless, "Meanwhile, Lightning then meets Mater, played by Larry the Cable Guy, who I believe that his role in this movie was his rise to stardom. That is until those direct-to-DVD sequels of famous Fox movies came along."

Yang summarizes, "McQueen is taken into court for the damages last night, with Doc Hudson, played by Paul Newman, is judging on what they should do with him as punishment. However, a car named Sally, played by Bonnie Hunt, comes in and Lightning seems to have a hit on her immediately.", as both watch the part where he was talking to Sally, asking if he scared her with his motor sound, "'I guarantee you that if I do it again, you're gonna fall in love with it...'", continuing, "Sally makes an inspiring speech about how the road is an important part of Radiator Springs, thus giving McQueen the job to repair the road.", the leader of team RWBY said, as the two see a snippet where Mater tells McQueen that he owes him $32,000 in legal fees, "'Oh, and another $100,000 for my mortgage. May need some help with that, I'm probably in deep financial trouble.'"

"While Lightning repairs the road, two tourists visit Radiator Springs as he tries to get some help.", the leader of team RWBY told as she watches this part with McQueen freaking out and saying that he's in hillbelly hell and claiming his IQ is dropping and he may be becoming one of them, "'Get me out of here before they make me do Drillbit Taylor!'", while Ruby then says, "He then hears the news on the radio saying that Hicks made it to California first and is already training, and apparently, this happens..."

The next scene shows Lightning then imagining Hicks becoming the Dinoco sponsor instead of him from his earlier imagination sequence, with him bragging and saying 'Feast your eyes', with Ruby's sister mocking him, "'It seems like my performances in Birdman and Morbius had lead to this.'", resuming, "McQueen attempts to finish the road quickly, but it ends up as a complete failure. After Doc challenges him to a race, which ultimately ends up with Lightning losing, he manages to get part of the road done the next morning.", showing the scene where the car townsfolk were relieved when testing the new road, "Ah, this feels like a newly waxed floor. Warm too."

"Doc later on meets up with Lightning, who tells him a few lessons about racing.", said Ruby, watching the scene with Doc talking to him with inspirational dialogue, "Even for a ten-time Oscar-nominated actor, it still feels like one of Paul Newman's best and final roles. His character lives up to his name, can you imagine that?", synopsizing, "Later on that night, McQueen hangs out with Mater for the first time, who has a hobby of tractor tipping.", the movie showing the part where Mater shows McQueen of him scaring the tractors in the open field, causing them to fall backwards.

Yang joked, "He'd be like, 'That's called tractor tipping! HA HA HA!'", making a reference to Barnyard (2006), "A combine harvester named Frank chases after the two, but they escape. And it looks like Mater seems to be aware of Lightning's possible relationship with Sally.", watching the snippet where Mater drives backward as Lightning was astounded by it, with the former saying he's the best backwards driver, "He could add, 'Seriously! You should totally see me do it on the freeway down!'", thus ending the first part of the Cars review.
