6:23 AM CT, CDF HQ, General's Suite.

It was a pretty normal morning for an old hare like myself being the general of the CDF and all. Get up, get ready, and head upstairs to my office. I just got reports of an unknown hole in a wall being discovered and had to shut the press up and send some people up there before they could say anything else about it so I could keep people from investigating it before I know if it's safe or not. After the crap that's happened in the last few years I wouldn't be surprised if it is dangerous in some way. Suddenly, my communicator started beeping, indicating that I was getting a call. I picked it up to see who it was, and it was Fox, who I answered. "Hey Fox. Did y'all enjoy your trip?"

"Yeah, brought you back a little something too, I can bring it over there in a while. What was that about with that 'doorway' that a boring team found?"

"So I guess you were watching the news." I sighed. "I don't know what it is yet, but I do know that it's a mysterious door shaped hole in a wall with a light coming from inside it. Common sense says that you don't just send anyone through something like that."

"Okay now I'm even more curious. Want some or all of us to Investigate?" Fox asked.

I sat contemplating for a moment before coming to a decision. "Alright, you have my clearance. I'll have an officer there to provide backup if the need arises and I'm sending you the coordinates."

"Acknowledged. I'll talk to you later, general."

"Yeah, I'll talk to you later too, Fox. Good luck."

After the call ended, I sighed, not exactly sure whether or not that was a good idea, but I trusted my former teammates.

6:25 AM CT, Star Fox Main Base.

Fox hung up the call, Falco having been standing in the doorway for the duration of the call. "Okay who wants to check out a mysterious wall hole and doesn't?"

"Damn, it looks like I jinxed it anyway, I'm in. Just let me finish my coffee, okay?" Slippy agreed reluctantly and walked to the freezer to grab some ice cubes.

"Pretty much what Slippy said but with some trucker speed. I'm starting to crash." Falco said, walking back to his room presumably to get one of the aforementioned capsules.

Upon reaching his room, Falco contacted Katherine on his room's intercom. "Wanna come with us to check out a hole in a cave?"

A few seconds passed before he got a response.

"No, not really. I was asleep."

"Sorry, I'll leave you alone then. I might stay too."

Falco switched to the lounge line. "I... Sorta changed my mind. I'm curious but not enough to go out again within the next couple hours if I don't have to. "

"Fair enough. Have a good sleep." Fox answered, ending the call. "Alright it's on the other side of the continent so we have an opportunity to test that decommissioned shuttle you salvaged, Slippy."

Slippy immediately chugged down his now iced coffee and jumped up out of his spot on the sofa, almost sending his mug flying across the room. "All right! I'll grab my stuff and get the shuttle started. Anything I can grab for you guys?" He set his mug down on the table.

"No thanks, Slip. Just make sure you have everything you need before we go." Fox said as Slippy ran out to get his gear.
