Author's Note: Y'ALL! You are giving me SO MANY AMAZING PROMPTS! You're killing it. I know the series is now at a close and I honestly have no idea how long I'll be inspired, but if I don't get to your prompts in this run, be assured that they will be written once/if Season 3 rolls around!

I got this particular prompt from portwelllllove:

'They want to get a moment alone but keep getting interrupted by various theatre kids (which also seems to happen in the show lol)'

Can't wait! Let's do it :D

Summary: Gina and EJ, who are trying to keep their relationship a secret, just want a moment alone to act like a couple. Their cast mates make this a challenge.

Monday: Carlos and Seb

Gina and EJ had decided, mutually, to keep their relationship a secret. Just for now, just until they got a hand on things, and just from the people they weren't related to (so, Ashlyn, Ashlyn's parents, EJ's parents, and Gina's mom).

Really, it was because of their cast mates. The theatre club at East High was a tea magnet, and every bit of relationship drama that could be snapped up and dissected would be. That was a lot of pressure for two people who still were just getting started in their love story.

Newly-started love story or not, Gina and EJ were certain of one thing: they were now a couple. So there was no way they were going to be passing up the opportunity to have a little classic sneak-off-and-kiss moment one Monday at school.

Gina was giggling uncontrollably as EJ latched onto her hand and dragged her out of the classroom they used for East High Morning News reports. "Where are we going?" she asked, almost tripping to keep up with him.

EJ tugged her into an empty hall, dragging her in by the hips and grinning down at her. "Hi."

Gina beamed at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She loved this, touching him, smiling at him, being with him. "Hey."

"I really like this one," EJ complimented, tugging at the bottom of the short-sleeve, cropped jacket she was wearing. "It's very cute."

"Thanks, I got it at a thrift store with Ashlyn," Gina told him, stretching up on her tip-toes and bumping her nose against his. EJ was just angling his chin, preparing to kiss her, when they heard voices coming from around the corner. Eyes wide, EJ quickly yanked away from Gina and both of them leaned faux-casually against the lockers.

Carlos and Seb walked into view, hand in hand and deep in conversation. When they caught sight of Gina and EJ they stopped short.

"Uhhh… hi guys," Carlos said, squinting at them. "What's… up?"

"We just finished filming morning news," Gina blurted. "And so we came to this hallway to… chat."

"Chat," EJ repeated. "Chatting. That's what people do, they chat. Or talk. Chatting and talking, it's kind of like squares and rectangles you know not all talking is chatting but all chatting is-"

Gina elbowed him and he fell silent. Both of them eyed Carlos and Seb anxiously.

"I never thought about that," Seb mused, blinking up at the ceiling. "The square and the rectangle thing always made me confused when I was little. I think that all shapes should just be a part of the same big family." He smiled widely. "Like us!"

"Mhm," Gina squeaked.

"Well, I gotta split," EJ said quickly, pushing away from the locker. He turned to Gina. "Catch you later, uh, Porter."

"Seeya… Caswell…" Gina replied awkwardly, giving him a finger gun and hurrying off in the opposite direction.

Tuesday: Courtney

"Have you ever heard of campanelle noodles?" Gina quizzed as she and EJ lazily tidied up the costume room, which they'd offered to do for Kourtney after a particularly trying costume-fitting session. "They're like… they kind of look like flowers, but they're noodles."

"I really screwed us up with the risotto thing, didn't I?" EJ asked, wrinkling his nose. "Now noodles will forever be 'our thing'. What if one of us becomes gluten free?"

"There are gluten free noodles," Gina scoffed. "And they're not that bad. My mom's gluten free so we'd get them sometimes."

"Huh." EJ squinted at the floor and then leaned down and plucked up a stray pin. "Hey, watch your feet, I don't want you getting stabbed by one of these guys. In fact…" He tossed the pin onto a nearby table and strode toward her with a devious smirk. "I may just have to carry you to safety."

Gina squealed as EJ primed to scoop her into his arms, bridal style.

"Hey, have you guys-"

Gina and EJ jolted apart. Gina tripped on a stray scarf lying on the floor and crashed into a table.

"Jeezum," Kourtney muttered, coming into view. "I didn't mean to scare y'all that much."

"You okay?" EJ asked Gina, reaching out a hand to help her up.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Gina grumbled, rubbing at her hip. "What's up, Kourt?"

"Two things," Kourtney said. "For starters, I'm on the hunt for a pair of red-framed sunglasses. They are mine, not the costume department's, and I'd like them back please and thank you. The second thing is that Ashlyn wanted me to tell you, Gina, that her mom wants you both to go home for dinner early because her parents have dinner plans. So you go, and I'll help EJ clean up."

Gina sent an apologetic smile in EJ's direction. "Thanks for letting me know," she said, heading for the door. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."

Wednesday: Nini

"That's not- there's not-" Gina tilted her head back and laughed as EJ crossed his legs and spun around. "EJ, come on. That's not how you do the Macarena."

The two of them were in the drama classroom, having lingered until everyone cleared out after rehearsal to have a little alone time before they went home. Gina wasn't exactly sure how they had gotten to dancing the Macarena, but she was very glad they did because apparently her job as choreography instructor was far from over that afternoon.

"I thought you could just do whatever you wanted, as long as you did it to the beat and could turn the movements ninety degrees every time and repeat!" EJ protested, doing a little shimmy. "You're telling me there's an actual choreographed dance for the Macarena?"

"Yes," Gina groaned, reaching for him. "And I'm teaching it to you right now. I don't care if you've danced your whole life or don't even know what step-touch is; everyone needs to know the Macarena."

"You could teach me that," EJ said slowly. "Or you could teach me a bit of ballroom dancing and we could turn on some Mozart and you could live out your Princess and the Frog fantasies."

"That whole movie takes place in New Orleans," Gina snorted, though she let him tug her into his chest and position them in a classic waltz position. "It's far from ballroom dancing. Though I'm impressed that you remembered that Tiana is my favorite Disney Princess. Nice job, Eej."

"I pay attention," EJ teased, dipping his head and pressing his nose to her neck. "Especially to you."

They heard a light knock and quickly pulled away from each other, spinning towards the sound. Nini was standing in the doorway holding a notebook and her water bottle. "Sorry, I didn't know this room was already reserved," she winced. "I was just gonna doing a little songwriting because it's quiet and… I don't know. I get inspired here."

EJ and Gina let out synchronized disappointed sighs. "The room's all yours, Nina," Gina told her, touching EJ's elbow and heading for the door. "I should probably be heading home anyway."

Thursday: Big Red

"You. Were. Amazing!" Gina squealed, racing down the hall and throwing her arms around EJ's neck.

He hugged her back tightly, grinning. "Thanks, G."

Gina pulled back, but reached out to grab EJ's hands. His fingertips were still water-wrinkled from the past hour-plus spent in the pool playing water polo, and the ridges felt strange against her skin. "Did you see us all in the stands cheering?"

"Heard you, too," EJ beamed. "Thanks for coming." His gaze shifted to her cheek, which was painted with the number on his water polo jersey. "That's a nice touch. No one gave you any crap for it?"

"Nope," Gina said, popping the p. "Our secret remains secure."

"Glad to hear it," EJ teased, leaning down.

"Hey guys!"

The two jumped apart, Gina quickly stuffing her hands in her pockets and turning around to find Big Red jogging towards them. "There you two are," he said. "Nice going on that game, EJ! We should have, uh, added a line to the Gaston song that was 'no one plays water polo like Gaston'."

EJ grinned appreciatively, though his face red for reasons other than the compliment. "Thanks, man."

"Hey, I just wanted to let you both know that the cast is heading to Slices! Pizza on my family, to celebrate the win." Big Red paused, considering. "Well… I don't know. Maybe the pizza's will come out of my paycheck but… ah well, it's a worthy sacrifice."

He turned and set off down the hall, before realizing that Gina and EJ weren't coming and looking around again. Being Big Red, he didn't register the signs that Gina and EJ clearly wanted to stick around the hallway for a little more… personal celebrating. "You guys coming?"

"Yep," EJ sighed, giving Gina's back a covert rub and starting down the hallway after Big Red. "We're coming."

Friday: Ricky

Perhaps Gina should have found it annoying, but she couldn't help but be flattered when EJ asked her to help him in the kitchen. It was his party for the cast, he should have been doing the hosting, but… Gina liked being singled out and asked to help with snacks. It made her feel special, and very much like a co-host (which, according to the movie He's Just Not That Into You, which she and EJ had watched last week, was the sure sign of a relationship).

Also, it gave Gina and EJ a chance for a bit of alone time, which was a plus considering they hadn't even been able to score seats next to each other on the couch in EJ's living room.

"Tortilla chips or potato chips?" EJ queried, turning away from the cupboards holding up both bags.

"There is only one correct answer to that," Gina scoffed. "Both."

EJ grinned and tossed her one of the bags, and she grabbed a bowl from the shelf near her head. It hadn't taken her long to get comfortable in EJ's family's kitchen, considering that she and EJ went over to his house most dates to avoid Ashlyn's prying eyes and they often made dinner or at least popcorn.

"Thanks for your help," EJ said as he dumped half a bag of tortilla chips into a bowl and set it at the edge of the table so he could easily grab it to bring to the living room. "In reality, I could have gotten chips myself but I wanted to steal you away."

"Is that so?" Gina asked coyly, popping a stray potato chip in her mouth and then closing the bag. "Whatever for?"

EJ grinned and took the bag of chips from her, tossing it aside and backing her up against the counter. Laughing, Gina wound her hands around his neck, fiddling with the hairs at the back of his head.

The sound of a refrigerator door closing forced the two of them away from each other. Ricky, standing innocently next to the fridge, looked up. "Hey, sorry, do you guys have lemonade?"

"What?" EJ asked, voice cracking. Ricky was being so… calm. He couldn't have seen anything. Right?

But literally how could he have not?

"Lemonade?" Ricky repeated, raising an eyebrow. "You know, the drink that's made with-"

"I know what lemonade is," EJ cut in. He shook himself slightly. "Uh, do we have- yes, there's some lemonade. There should be cans out in the cooler in the living room."

He sighed, shrugging helplessly at Gina, and led Ricky out of the kitchen.

Saturday: Ashlyn

"This is so nice," Gina murmured as she curled against EJ's side on the couch, head nestled against his shoulder. Her unfocused eyes were on the movie playing in front of them, but she was mostly just soaking in every detail of the romcom-like experience actually happening in the room. "Like we needed another reason that weekends are way better than the school week."

"True," EJ snorted, playing with the fingers of her left hand. "I love our friends but… finally alone, am I right?"

"You are indeed right," Gina grinned, leaning up to kiss him.

Their lips finally, finally, met, and Gina hummed happily, scrunching the fabric of EJ's shirt under her hand.

"Y'all are adorable."

Gina let out a squeak of surprise and ripped away from EJ, almost falling off the couch. The two of them raised wide eyes in time to see Ashlyn flop down in a nearby chair and give them a bemused look. "Wow, jumpy much?"

"Sorry," Gina breathed, repositioning on the couch. "Habit."

"Feels like every time we try to get a moment alone, someone we know shows up and interrupts," EJ sighed. "It's making keeping our relationship a secret very challenging."

Ashlyn laughed. "A secret. That's a good one, EJ." She caught sight of their expressions and blinked at them. "Oh come on. You two don't seriously think people haven't picked up on you two, do you? Guys, everyone knows that you're dating. And I mean everyone."

Gina and EJ turned shocked expressions towards each other, then looked back to Ashlyn.

"What?!"

Author's Note: I am pissed off about the fact that we didn't get a kiss scene. Like ohhh yeah, it's sUcH a BiG cLiFfY to end the season- like come on. No. They are, without a doubt, going to kiss, so what exactly is supposed to be keeping us on the edge of our seats, wondering what will happen? IT'S JUST DUMB. WHY CAN'T YOU SPEND TEN MORE SECONDS AND GIVE US A KISS COME ON!

Anyway. Sorry. I know I should just be grateful that Portwell is endgame but in my eyes there was no real doubt of that happening so it's just… really frustrating. Man, I really need to stop looking forward to things I can't control.

Anyway anyway, thanks so much for the prompt portwelllllove! I had so so so much fun writing established!Portwell :)
